In the summer of 1967, when the whole country entered into full-scale civil strife under the slogan of "Cultural Revolution", a group of "movement leaders" and political forces in the early stage of the "Cultural Revolution" had withdrawn from the movement stage. At the same time when the "Fourth Three Faction" and "Fourth Faction" of various middle schools in Beijing stepped onto the stage of political struggle, the old Red Guards had begun to withdraw from political struggle.Except some people ganged up to perform theatrical performances, most of them started to "happy".As the "Happy School" and "Decadent School" who were criticized at that time, these people gathered together to visit mountains and rivers, have dinners, exchange books, sing foreign songs, learn to write new and old style poems, etc. This was the embryonic form of the later literary salon.

Li insisted that he worked in the National Defense Science and Technology Commission at the beginning of the "Cultural Revolution". He was arrested and imprisoned for a while because he participated in the "Three Armed Forces Clash". After he was released, he was sent to a semiconductor component factory, which was a small factory.Li's persistent temperament and demeanor gave people the impression of a "professional revolutionary" at the time. Li Zhizhi formed a small circle of four or five people with Chen Xiaodong, Fan Sixue, and Zhou Wenlin in the same factory.Among them, there is also Fan Ting, Fan Sixue's younger sister. For a while, she showed everyone some poems written by educated youths in Northeast China (she was going to the countryside in Northeast China at the time). One of the poems about the wind and snow in the Nenjiang Plain left a deep impression on everyone.Li Jianzhi also brought some handwritten novels and poems.Later, Lei Ming, Chen Leping and others also entered and exited this circle.

At that time, in this circle, before the "Cultural Revolution", "internal reading materials" (for high-ranking cadres to read), usually in gray paper, also called "gray paper", related to politics, philosophy, and literature. There are "Forty-first", "An Inch of Soil" (Soviet novel, Baklanov), "The Man Who Followed the Sun", "High Altitude", "The Wild Goose Flying South" (the above is a Soviet film script), and some Political books such as "Biography of Tito", "Biography of Stalin" (written by Trotsky), "New Class" (Yugoslavia, Derras).Among them, the book "New Class" had a great influence in various salons in Beijing.

After that, internal bookstores in Beijing sold internal reading materials, and high-ranking cadres could only enter and buy with special certificates.Internal readings also began to circulate in circles: Bronchav's "The Manager's Story", Yevtushenko's "Valley of the Lady" and "White Steamship", "The Falling Corner", "Snowy Winter", "You What do you want?" In 1970, the vast majority of my friends were in the queue, in the corps, or in the army, and the whole of Beijing seemed empty, with only a few circles operating secretly. After that, there was another Liu Sen who joined. He graduated from Xu Beihong College in 50 years and was imprisoned. After he was released, he had no job. He used clay to burn some Buddha heads to farmers near Xiangshan Mountain in exchange for some money to live on.He has a bohemian personality and is full of emotion. When he talks about his favorite O. Henry novels with his friends, his body will tremble with excitement. This person also learned some face-to-face, palmistry, and Qimen Dunjia skills among the people, and he has a lot of experience.Sometimes, Liu Sen came to meet friends, and sometimes, friends went to visit him.He lives in a village at the foot of Fragrant Hills, in a simple earthen house, which looks like an old farmer.

At that time, out of strong dissatisfaction with the "Cultural Revolution", everyone expressed concern about democracy and the legal system under the socialist system. Everyone began to discuss how to implement socialism and what is the future of China? This was the beginning of the migration of the "underground art salon" to theoretical research, which eventually led to the end of political repression. In September 1975, the Jiangqing Group arrested many people after long-term monitoring, monitoring, and external transfer of Li Jianzhi and others.
