Chapter 5 Chapter 5 Heroes Everywhere

The Kwantung Army continued to advance towards Heilongjiang. With the start of the Jiangqiao Anti-Japanese War, the bloody courage and masculinity inherent in the Northeast land gradually awakened, and heroes were born one after another. They either used regular warfare or guerrilla warfare to fight the Japanese army to the death. The post-"9.18" era is indeed an era in which heroes emerge in large numbers. After the Battle of Jiangqiao, Ma Zhanshan, the "General of Resistance", was shaken unexpectedly by the Japanese army's hard and soft tactics. Now Harbin (Hashi) has become the "last stop" for Japan to reach in Manchuria.

Attacking Qiqihar was, in a sense, a test for the Soviet Union to see if it would respond. The Soviet Union responded by reaffirming its non-intervention policy to Japan. That seems to encourage the Japanese: You concentrate on doing it, and I will never bother you. The Kwantung Army was originally a group of hobgoblins, and the situation in front of them made them even more impatient - domestically, from Minister Lu to the chief of staff (should be the deputy chief of staff, because the prince's chief of staff doesn't care much) are all supporters of the war , Abroad, the Soviets hid aside with knowledge and interest, and Takashi Tanaka and Yoshiko Kawashima lit up in Shanghai, and international public opinion no longer paid attention to the Northeast.

If you don't do it now, when will you wait. But in terms of specific strategies, it is divided into two factions. Of course, if it is not a last resort, "using China to control China" is still their primary strategy. The same is true for these two factions, both first emphasize the subjective initiative and creativity of traitors or puppet troops. One group is represented by Baiwu Haruki, chief of the Harbin Secret Service (Lu Da 33 issue). This faction advocates using a soft hand, that is, to carry out "internal instigation" through Zhang Jinghui. The other faction is represented by Ji Tongzhen, head of the Jilin Secret Service (Lu Da No. 35).They advocated using a hard hand, that is, to directly capture Harbin through the puppet army controlled by Jilin Xiqia.

Hyakutake Harukichi's faction hit a wall first. Although Zhang Jinghui has long been secretly colluding with the Japanese, and declared the independence of Harbin as the chief executive of the Eastern Province Special Region, he is different from Jilin's Xiqia. The latter has some military power, but he is a soft Foot Crab, the veritable "Prince of Tofu", has neither a gun nor a cannon. Without the barrel of a gun, you will not be hard-spoken.No wonder the Japanese threw an official hat of "Chairman of Heilongjiang Province" over. Ma Zhanshan stared at him, and he was so scared that he didn't even dare to attend the inauguration ceremony.

The actual military power in Harbin is in the hands of Ding Chao, the Binjiang guard envoy and commander of the 28th Brigade.Ding Chao is the representative of the "non-commissioned officer department" in the Northeast Army, at least people in the army have to obey him. Ding Chao's attitude at that time was actually ambiguous. As a veteran soldier, he was unwilling to surrender, and he was not sure about resisting, so he just swayed back and forth, not easily expressing his position anyway. Ding Chao didn't say a word, even if you borrowed Zhang Jinghui's guts, he wouldn't dare to sell Harbin City openly.

Zhang Jinghui didn't live up to expectations and implicated his backstage boss.Momotake Haruki left not long after, and he was replaced by Doihara, who had nothing to do but made trouble. Under the circumstances that he did not want to send the Kwantung Army directly to the field, Doihara naturally agreed with Dazai Tongzhen's idea. The two secret agents teamed up to force Xiqia, a servant, to attack Harbin immediately. However, at this time Xiqia was too busy to take care of himself, not to mention moving Harbin's mind, even Jilin was a little uncertain. The person who made him so uneasy was Feng Zhanhai, the nephew of Zhang Zuoxiang, and the head of the guard regiment of the Jilin Deputy Commander's Office before the "September 18th" Incident. The guard regiment he led was not only well equipped, but also organized quite neatly. In addition to 3 infantry battalions, it was also decently equipped with cavalry battalions, heavy machine gun companies, communication companies and other supporting arms. This scale was only available in the Japanese army at that time, and even Lao Jiang's German weapon division was not fully equipped.

A few days after the "September 18th" incident, Xiqia voted his teacher in Japan Domon as a traitor.Knowing the strength of the guard regiment, he really wanted to drag Feng Zhanhai into the water, so he seduced him with the title of "Jilin Provincial Guard Commander". Feng Zhanhai doesn't like this. What, my uncle asked you to guard Jilin to help him defend his family and the country, but unexpectedly you betrayed the country and sought glory. Immediately led the guard regiment to raise the banner of anti-Japanese. As soon as this banner was fought, it was terrible, and there were a lot of people who came to the door to fight the devils.

Among the people who came, there were three kinds of people who were particularly enthusiastic about fighting devils: The first type is the former officers and soldiers of the Northeast Army. Most of them were blocked in the two provinces of Jihei and could not withdraw smoothly to the pass. Among them, there were also people with lofty ideals who neither wanted to retreat nor surrendered to the enemy, but planned to fight to the end in the northeast and fight the devils. The second type is young students. In addition to major schools in Northeast China, there were also students who came from the pass to join the army to fight against Japan (at that time, the control of the pass by the Japanese army was not strict, and ordinary people could come in as well as go out).

The third type - beard. If it weren't for the "September 18th" incident, they basically belonged to the category that was suppressed by the government and the army. But it was different now, the common goal of fighting devils brought them together. Feng Zhanhai's uncle and "assistant commander" Zhang Zuo relatively regretted and hated the misuse of Xiqia. He sent people to Jilin to establish another interim government (built in Xiabin County, Harbin), and at the same time formally appointed Feng Zhanhai as the commander of the Jilin Frontier Defense Force. At this time, Feng Zhanhai's troops had grown from 3,000 to 20,000.When Jiangqiao Anti-Japanese War broke out, he and Ma Zhanshan became two sharp swords that the Japanese and puppet troops had a headache. At that time, the people in Northeast China called them: "Ma Zhanshan, Feng Zhanhai, one horse occupies the mountain, two horses occupy the sea, in front of Shanhaiguan, there are mountains and seas", which shows the aspirations of the people.

For such a thorn, Xiqia must of course want to get rid of it quickly. Now he needs talents to help him deal with anti-Japanese armed forces like Feng Zhanhai. Find one soon. Yu Chencheng, nicknamed Yu Datou, was born in Ma Ke, a crash course in the Beiyang Army, and was the commander of the Cavalry Division of the Northeast Army.It is said that he has a lot of affection for horses (probably related to his profession), but when a good horse dies, not only a few tears will be shed, but a monument will be erected when the love is deep. Because he was suspected of opposing Zhang Zuolin together with Guo Songling, he was dismissed from office early and had to return to his hometown to set up a factory and do business.

After receiving Xiqia's invitation, Yu Datou hesitated at first—I guess he was planning to set up a factory or be a traitor, which of these two businesses is more cost-effective. After all, he has a big head. After hesitating for a while, he immediately understood: it is cost-effective to be a traitor. Xiqia immediately appointed Yu Chencheng as the commander of the Japanese and puppet Jilin "suppression bandits", and gathered five brigades of puppet troops to attack the Jilin anti-Japanese forces. At that time, Yu Datou mainly targeted two people. One, of course, is Feng Zhanhai, who is based in Shulan County, Jilin. The other is Zhang Zuozhou of the Jilin Northeast Army. He deployed defenses in Yushu County at the junction of Jilin and Heilongjiang provinces. You can refer to the picture of "Battle of Harbin" (see page 107). The two garrisons of Shulan and Yushu not only threatened the Xiqia puppet regime in Jilin, but also acted as two barriers for the puppet army to attack Harbin. It should be pointed out that after the "September 18th" incident, due to the rush of time, the Northeast Army in Liaoning was mainly withdrawn to Jinzhou and Guanzhong, and most of the Northeast Army in Jihei Province stayed in the Northeast. no.This group of remaining troops, from the 22nd brigade to the 28th brigade, has 7 brigades in total, 2 brigades have surrendered to the enemy one after another, and there are 5 brigades left. Zhang Zuozhou led the 25th of these five brigades. The road to Feng Zhanhai went very smoothly at first, and they captured Shulan City almost easily. In addition to the large number of invading puppet troops this time, it also has a lot to do with the Japanese running around behind the scenes. Under normal circumstances, the Kwantung Army is not at ease with the Northeast Puppet Army, believing that it lacks combat effectiveness and must carry out "internal transformation".In charge of the "reform" of the Chencheng puppet army were two Japanese majors: Tetsuo Tomiya and Masao Ono. Although they seem to be little-known, in fact, they have already made great achievements in the Northeast, and they are all related to planning and blasting. The former personally pressed the blasting switch in the Huanggutun Incident, and the latter served as the leader of the No. 1 Squadron of the Fengtian Independent Garrison when the Liutiaohu Railway was bombed. These two boys train the puppet army in peacetime, and are responsible for supervising the formation in wartime, forcing the soldiers to charge forward. In addition, the Japanese aircraft also caused great losses to the anti-Japanese army.In Feng Zhanhai's troops, including the various types of Northeast Volunteer Army, except for the former officers and soldiers of the Northeast Army, many people even had no military training before. After a brief training, it was okay to let them lie on the ground and shoot at them. Once they were bombed by Japanese aircraft, they didn't know how to use the terrain to evacuate and hide. As a result, they were particularly prone to panic when fighting. Taking down Shulan City is equivalent to a hit. Yu Datou is so proud that he really thinks that his miraculous skills are world-class. If he moves his finger, others will have to flee. He didn't realize that the reason why Feng Zhanhai was able to be associated with Ma Zhanshan's name was that he had a card in his hand. Apart from the solid background of the guard regiment, the two generals under his tent were quite good. These are two bearded generals, one is Gong Changhai and the other is Yao Bingqian. To be famous in the Jianghu world, anyone like a mountain eagle must have a nickname. For example, Gong Changhai is called Gong Fool, and Yao Binggan is called Yao Shuangshan. As I said earlier, Feng Zhanhai’s troops had three types of people who had the highest enthusiasm for the War of Resistance. Among the three types of people, the former officers and soldiers of the Northeast Army and Huzi were the backbone of the battle, and Huzi was the most brave among them. Did the Japanese and puppet troops see it? Not afraid. Beard is the most powerful, this result is both unexpected and not unexpected. According to my analysis, this probably has something to do with the "professional requirements" of Beard itself.Because that is to rely on their own ability to make a living. The officers and soldiers can’t win a battle, and they can’t afford less food and pay. They eat a “big pot of rice”, but beards are different. If you lose a battle today, you lose a battle tomorrow. If you can’t win the battle the day after tomorrow, you’ll be hungry die. No way, the situation forces you to raise your level. But he said that Feng Zhanhai's troops retreated to a place called Fraxinus Fraxinus and would not retreat anymore, because it was Yao Shuangshan, a fierce bearded general, who was guarding Fraxinus Fraxinus. No matter how hard Yu Datou pushed his head upwards, Yao Huzi on the opposite side didn't move, and only then did he realize that he had encountered a more ruthless one. Fraxinus Mandshurica is a town in Shulan County. It's a good name, I don't know if it has something to do with the abundance of this precious tree here. Mandshurica mandshurica, Mandshurica mandshurica, that is a high-quality wood for making furniture, it is very tough, how can you just bend over and bow your head casually?Yu Datou chose this place to attack, and his eyesight is really good enough. Sure enough, not long after, another palace beard came up from behind - although he was called a fool, he was not stupid at all when fighting, and was very "tricky". Seeing this, Yao Shuangshan took the opportunity to make noise from the front and launched a counterattack without losing the opportunity. Yu Datou has only one choice at this time, and that is to flee. The two Japanese majors who were in charge of the formation couldn't stop them no matter what, and they had to run away together in the end. The Battle of Fraxinus Fraxinus not only regained Shulan, but also greatly defeated the spirit of the puppet army. But at the same time, Zhang Zuozhou's alarm went off. When encountering such a fatal situation, the combat effectiveness of the officers and soldiers is often not as good as that of the beards, as is the case with the Jilin Northeast Army. They also want to work hard, but they don't usually do their homework, and it is still difficult to hold the Buddha's big feet temporarily. In his panic, Zhang Zuozhou wrote an urgent letter to Feng Zhanhai, asking him to come and help. But when Gong Changhai was ordered to come for reinforcements, Zhang Zuozhou had already retreated and Yushu County was lost. Yushu County was further back than Shulan. Once this place was lost, Shulan was in a very dangerous situation with the enemy on his back.Feng Zhanhai had no choice but to order a retreat. With this retreat, we retreated to the surrounding area of Harbin. Xiqia is happy. In his opinion, the task entrusted by the Japanese master is about to be completed. Yu Chencheng followed Feng Zhanhai, chasing after him.Not only is it to eliminate the provisional government of Jilin Province set up by Feng Zhanhai and Zhang Zuoxiang, but the bigger goal is to beat the rabbits and bring down Harbin by the way. Feng Zhanhai retreated to Acheng, south of Harbin. It is not far from the seat of the interim government of Jilin Province, and it can serve as a military cover for the latter. But soon, something happened to him. The troops are out of food. It stands to reason that there is no need for military leaders to worry about rations for the troops. That should be what the local government should do, but now it is no different than in the past. Looking for Xichao? This traitorous government wants you to find him. The interim government of Jilin Province is an anti-Japanese government officially appointed by the military and political authorities in Northeast China, but it is an exile government, empty-handed, and the person in charge appointed by Zhang Zuoxiang is of mediocre ability. The army's food and payment is obviously beyond its ability. There is also a government in Harbin, but it has declared independence, and these people have their own ideas, some want to be traitors, some want to escape, some are still undecided, in short, they are unwilling to help. Feng Zhanhai had no choice but to use his own brain to find a way. Fortunately, there is a good place not far from Acheng. This place is called Lalin, which is a town, but it has another name called Lalin Cang, which is named after the government built official warehouses here to store military rations since the Qing Dynasty. Later, even the Japanese marveled at the abundance of grain produced in Lalin Town, and even compared it with Harbin: the big Lalin warehouse and the small Harbin. It is impossible to find food to guard such a large granary. If you have seen the picture of "Battle of Harbin", you will know that Acheng and Lalin are not far apart. Of course, Feng Zhanhai wanted to take people to Lalin to raise food, but he was ambushed by Yu Chencheng there. Back then, Guizi Guo, who had always been aloof and lofty, could think highly of him. Of course, his big head still had two tricks, at least in line with the characteristics of being a treacherous and cunning man. After chasing after Feng Zhanhai, he learned the lesson of the battle against Fraxinus ash, and did not attack rashly, but squatted in Lalin and waited. It is impossible for you not to be hungry. If you are hungry, you will definitely come to Lalin to try your luck. Feng Zhanhai came out this time and brought a detachment (equivalent to a battalion). After being surrounded by Yu Datou, he had to rush out desperately. After the detachment leader was seriously injured, he barely rushed out. At this time, the puppet army had discovered that Feng Zhanhai himself was in this detachment, so of course they kept a close eye on it.After the troops in Acheng heard the gunshots from Lalin, they also rushed to reinforce. The two sides launched a fierce tug-of-war, and Feng Zhanhai was still unable to escape. That's when someone stepped in to help. From then on, Feng Zhanhai's name will be closely linked with him. This person is called Li Du. Now this name may not be known to many people. But if I tell you that the Kuomintang and the Communist Party agreed unanimously to let him be the commander-in-chief of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Allied Forces (that is, the commander-in-chief of Yang Jingyu and Zhao Shangzhi, who failed to actually take up the post for some reason), you may treat him Look at it differently. If there are relatively outstanding military and political talents in the later period of the Northeast Army, Li Du can definitely be ranked among the top few. Do you still remember the Mongolian rebel Babu Zabu who helped the Clan Socialist Party launch the "Manchurian and Mongolian Independence Movement"?After he was beaten to death by Zhang Zuolin, the ghosts of his remnants lingered, relying on the speed of his horse, they still often ran over to harass him. At that time, Li Du was already a regimental leader under Wu Junsheng and Wu Datong. He saw that the Mongol bandits were arrogant on the outside, but in fact they were weak and unable to do what they wanted, so he resolutely rode through the barrier alone and stayed in the enemy camp for more than half a month. This person is good at governing the army. We have seen him in the previous Sino-Soviet Tongjiang battle. After that disastrous battle, some people have been silent about fighting against foreign invaders since then, and dare not mention the word "resistance" easily, while some people continue to live that kind of insensitive, drunken life, anyway, there is wine now and now Drunk, it's a day to hang out, of course, there are still people who will try their best, thinking about starting all over again every day, and avenging their shame. The last type of people is rare in the Northeast Army, but it is not absent. Li Du is one. You can't change others, you can only change yourself. After returning to Yilan, Li Du began to carry out military reforms on his troops, and paid special attention to the three basic movements, tactical awareness, and the relationship between officers and soldiers. Lessons learned from the past, overturned by the latter. For Li Du, fighting the Soviet troops was a bloody lesson. The reason for the disastrous defeat in the Tongjiang battle was not entirely due to inferior weapons, inferior skills, and inferior fighting spirit. This was the most fundamental reason. So since then, he has paid special attention to the basic movement exercises of soldiers. In terms of basic training such as the use of firearms and hand-to-hand stabbing, the general officers of the Northeast Army at that time were too lazy to take care of it. Only Li Du personally supervised the training every time, and he would never be sloppy. Soldiers know how to fight, and those who command don't know how to fight.Li Du set up a rotation training class for officers in his brigade headquarters, which was designed to grasp the tactical awareness of officers above the platoon. He not only held classes, but also went up to be a teacher himself, teaching military officers at all levels the art of war, analyzing battle cases, and improving their actual combat command ability little by little. Officers and soldiers will be able to fight, and they still need to work together to form a rope.Li Du also did a good job in this aspect, he paid great attention to winning the hearts of the soldiers, no matter how busy he was usually, he still had to ask about the daily food of the officers and soldiers. Practice has proved that there is a difference between catching and not catching. The so-called "Liuying spring test horses, barracks talk about soldiers at night", after this rectification, Li Du's troops have always said that they have strict discipline, can be drawn well, and can fight loudly. It is a unit with relatively outstanding combat effectiveness in the Northeast Army. What is even more commendable is that Li Du is capable of both literary and military skills, and is very popular in local governance. The common people even presented a gold plaque with "Famous in the Northeast" and "Outstanding Achievements", as well as Wanmin Umbrella and Wanmin Banner at the gate to show their respect. We must know that in the era of the young commander, the administration of officials in the Northeast was very problematic. We only need to think about the cause and handling process of the Wanbaoshan incident. It is really not easy for Li Du, who came from a military background, to be an upright and good official. Even the Japanese have seen this, and have been troubled by it all the time, thinking that because Li Du "implemented quite good governance", (the area he governed) "has a strong aversion to the rapid penetration of Japanese power". Before and after the "September 18th" Incident, Li Du served as the guard of Yilan (Yilan County is east of Harbin) and the commander of the 24th Brigade of the Jilin Northeast Army. Both the guard envoy and brigade commander were given by Zhang Zuolin. After that, he never received any promotion. In the later stage of the Northeast Army, they always said that they couldn't choose a capable general, but just like this, a talent who was many times stronger than Wan Fulin's generation, but for some reason, he didn't catch the attention of the young commander. To be honest, I don't know how he chooses people. To put it bluntly, in this respect, even Xiqia is better than him. At the beginning, the Japanese tried their best to encourage Xiqia to seek Harbin, but this outdated elder brother (after Xiqia became the royal family of the Qing Dynasty) still had some concerns.Aside from being unable to figure out Ding Chao's hole cards like Zhang Jinghui, the person he fears the most is Li Du. In his opinion, Li Du's attitude is very important to his strategy of attacking Harbin City.If he surrenders, he will be his right-hand man; if he does not surrender, he will be a terrible enemy. In terms of administrative division, Yilan is under the jurisdiction of Jilin—from here, you can also see how small the special administrative region of the three eastern provinces under the jurisdiction of Zhang Jinghui is. He only manages a city of Harbin, and the following places are all within the scope of Jilin. After Xiqia became the pseudo-governor of Jilin Province, while announcing his separation from the Nanjing Central Government, he sent a letter to Li Du asking him to obey the restraint of the "new government". Li Du's reply consisted of eight words: refuse to follow the Tao, insist on resisting Japan. Then he dismissed all his subordinates who had something to do with the original immediate boss, and replaced them with someone he trusted. Now that he is a traitor, generally speaking, he is not thick-skinned, and the same is true for Xiqia.Li Du acted so "unfeelingly", and he continued to "recruit" with a shy face. Make a wish first. Li Du was not moved. Send lobbyists again. Li Du simply came up with Li Zhouyu's method to deal with Jiang Gan, drink as usual, talk as usual, but the sword is hanging there, if you dare to get involved in the matter of the day, don't blame me for being rude ("Fortunately, there are no others , otherwise enough trouble"). The lobbyist's face turned pale with fright, and he didn't feel comfortable drinking the wine, so he walked away after sitting for a while. Xiqia was forced to do nothing, so he had no choice but to go out in person, and took out the trick of the underworld - directly to the family members. While sending rare antiques, he handed over a naked threat: Don’t toast or eat fine wine, you will anger the Japanese, and your family will look good. Seeing that the whole family was frightened and obedient, and also accepted the gift, Xiqia thought that this time the matter should be settled. Unexpectedly, Li Du "there is no weak wife beside a strong man", and his wife is also a powerful character. It is said that he is not only strong in fists and feet, but also good at wielding two guns. If he hadn't watched the old and the young in the family, and feared that something would happen to them, Xiqia would have lost his life at that time. At that moment, she took her family and went to Yilan to join Li Du, and the first thing she said to him was: We would rather die than be traitors, our family supports you! Li Du thought so too.In order to prevent the Japanese from retaliating, he disguised his family members as refugees and sent them to the customs to hide. Now I am alone, what loopholes do you have to take advantage of? ! As for rare antiques, don't even think about getting them back, because I just need them. Li Du sold all these things, and used the money to pay for the anti-Japanese army. Xiqia suffered a great loss, and besides being distressed, he completely gave up on Li Du. When Feng Zhanhai was in danger, when Li Du heard the news, he immediately drew his sword to help and sent a regiment to help, which saved Feng's department from danger. Northeast people value loyalty, not to mention they are all passionate men who want to protect their families and the country. Since then, the two heroes of the Northeast have come together. Harbin City was already in chaos at this time. Yu Chencheng's puppet army approached the city, and the temporary "responsible" bosses all seemed to have lost their souls. They neither wanted to fight nor dared to surrender publicly, making the atmosphere in the city weird and mysterious. On January 25th in the 21st year of the Republic of China (1932), Li Du and Feng Zhanhai led their respective ministries to the eastern suburbs of Harbin. This move was immediately responded to. In addition to Zhang Zuozhou's 25th Brigade, the Jilin Northeast Army's 22nd Brigade (Zhao Yi Brigade) and 26th Brigade (Xing Zhanqing Brigade) successively announced their troops to follow. Depending on the situation, it will be too late.Ding Chao, who had hesitated before, stopped hesitating and led his 28th brigade to join the camp.In this way, the five Northeast brigades temporarily reached an agreement on the theme of the War of Resistance. On the same day, the Anti-Japanese Military and Political Conference was held, and the Jilin Self-Defense Army was established, with Li Du as the commander-in-chief.The Self-Defense Forces are determined to jointly attack the Japanese and puppet troops and defend Harbin. The hearts of the soldiers and civilians inside and outside the city were settled for a while, and the Harbin city and the banking circles scrambled to support food and salaries, making Harbin another anti-Japanese and national salvation center after Jiangqiao. The next morning, Li Feng's coalition forces entered the urban area in 4 routes. As soon as Li Du entered Harbin, the Japanese side immediately knew that the taste was not right. Those who used airplanes to drop leaflets, shout out, and issue notices all came, and their tone was similar, that is, they "protested heavily" against the Self-Defense Forces (equal to the square of the protest) and threatened to use force to "protect the overseas Chinese." Li Du ignored it, but quickly deployed Harbin to defend. If you want to come, you can come, anyway, you always want to come, so why pretend. The Japanese got angry, Li Du didn't take it seriously, Yu Chencheng outside the city was terrified. You must know that it is not easy to be a traitor. You have to live by watching the face of your master all day long. On January 27, Datou began to attack Harbin. Harbin's maiden defense battle began, and a dozen lasted for two days. Day one is defense. Withstood.Li Du's 24th Brigade and Feng Zhanhai's new 1st Brigade (composed of the backbone of the self-defense regiment) carried the tripod. These are the two most capable brigades in the self-defense army. The puppet army suffered a lot of blood, but they couldn't find any flaws. The next day they entered the counter-offensive. For a long time, as long as the puppet troops were dispatched, the Japanese planes would follow in the sky. This time is no exception. However, what is different from the past is that the Self-Defense Forces also have an additional advantageous weapon, and that is the cannon. When we talked about the "September 18th" incident in the Changchun battle, didn't the Jilin Army Artillery Regiment withdrawn, and now is the time to play its role. The puppet army is miserable, and now it's their turn to taste the feeling of being bombed. The Japanese who watched anxiously by the side were also unlucky.A plane they sent over Harbin for reconnaissance and bombing was hit by the artillery regiment, and it landed unsteadily, and made an emergency landing on the south bank of the Songhua River, 8 miles northwest of Harbin.Ding Chao's cavalry were defending this area, and they rode over to see what was new. Originally wanted to catch alive, but unexpectedly the two Japanese pilots on the plane kept fighting, and even wanted to kill two cavalrymen to back them up.It was really courting death, but they were all shot dead on the spot. The puppet army could have resisted for a while, but they ran into that moment that made their hearts palpitate—the bearded brother Gong Chang, the sea cavalry brigade who likes to play with the heartbeat, suddenly flashed out from the side. Gong Changhai is probably used to this kind of game in normal times: to rob the government's food and grass, you have to whistle, and then kill the general from nowhere, otherwise it is still called a beard? The response of the puppet army to this situation was the same as that of the officers and soldiers who were robbed. After throwing down their belongings (guns), they ran away. Gong Huzi led all the cavalry, relying on the speed of the horse, and chased desperately behind him, and he chased for 30 miles, capturing a lot of puppet troops along the way. Harbin kept it.From about to fall to turning the corner, the people of Harbin have gone through a roller coaster-like experience. Li Du served as the commander-in-chief for the first time. He lifted the weight lightly and struck out quickly. He is known here as a parachutist. Although the first battle was successful, Li Du himself was not in a relaxed mood.He knew how many catties he had. Only Feng Zhanhai and the 24th Brigade of which he served as the brigade commander were the only ones who could really take these troops out for a walk. Lack of training, not satisfactory in terms of actual combat ability and military quality. In this case, you have to ask someone to help you. Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is to generate electricity for the young marshal and ask him to send troops to Shanhaiguan to attack from north to south. We all know that this hope is very slim, but we must try. After the telegram was sent, it disappeared. Young Marshal Zhang in Beiping kept a terrible silence about this. Not only did he have no support, but even Jiangqiao's verbal encouragement during the war of resistance was gone.Probably since Ma Zhanshan withdrew to Helen, he was already feeling cold and discouraged about the situation in Heilongjiang: Qiqihar was beaten like that, and it was not occupied by the Japanese. Brother, people are bloody. They would rather die standing than lying down. Although the results seem to be the same, there is an essential difference. Helpless, Li Du had to think of another way. Fighting against the Japanese until now, if we talk about the heroes of the Northeast, it must be Ma Zhanshan in the north. Although he has retreated to the small town of Helen, he is still the anti-Japanese war. Li Du was afraid that he would not be convincing alone, so he took Ding Chao together to meet Ma Zhanshan, hoping that the two sides could establish a unified military organization to jointly resist the Japanese and puppet attacks. In Li Du's view, Helen has Ma Zhanshan's border guards, and Harbin has self-defense troops. If they are connected as one, they will surely form an iron fist in North Manchuria, and the entire situation of the Northeast War of Resistance will be changed. There is no doubt that this is indeed a far-sighted strategic proposal. But on the one hand, Ma Zhanshan is no longer the Ma Zhanshan he was during the Jiangqiao Anti-Japanese War, and his ideology is being shaken sharply; abacus. During the Jiangqiao Anti-Japanese War, Ma Zhanshan was in the most critical time, but he did not see Li Du and Feng Zhanhai coming to help.Conversely, seeing the crisis in Harbin, Ma Zhanshan is also ready to sit idly by. He verbally agreed to Li Du's suggestion, but actually he didn't take it to heart. He took the initiative to propose to Li Du and Ding Chao that he would send troops to reinforce them if necessary, and subsidize them with 500,000 rounds of ammunition. This is actually a blank check. Don't say something nice, just perfunctory. In this way, any good advice is useless. Harbin is in danger. Once Yu Datou failed, the Kwantung Army's attempt to seize Harbin without spending a penny came to nothing. The puppet army is dead, so we have to do the same thing as Jiangqiao, we go on our own. Excuses are readily available. Jilin fights Harbin, Chinese fights Chinese, it is purely your internal affairs, we don't want to care about it, the problem is that we have too many expats in Harbin, what should we do if we are killed by stray bullets, we have to send troops to protect them. I really want to add reasons, there is nothing to worry about. The Kwantung Army then reported to the General Staff Headquarters that it would send troops to Harbin to "protect overseas Chinese." The report was handed over to Deputy Chief Masaki. Masaki is also a radical in waging war, and the lesson of the original Chief of Staff Kanaya is there: "Looking forward and looking backward, fearing the head and tail, can't do great things", who is talking about this? Since the reason is "sufficient", the Soviets dare not speak up, so what are you waiting for? Agree, totally agree. At 4 o'clock in the morning on January 28 in the twenty-first year of the Republic of China (1932), the General Staff Headquarters sent a reply telegram concerning the consent. Ten minutes later, Shigeru Honjo, commander of the Kwantung Army, issued an order to the 2nd Division (Sendai Division) to march towards Harbin. At the same time, in view of the fact that Ma Zhanshan's "surrender" has become increasingly clear, the 4th Mixed Brigade (Suzuki Mixed Brigade) originally stationed in Qiqihar City also went south by train to support the attack of the Sendai Division from the north of Harbin. The first batch of the Sendai Division to set off was the Changgu Brigade stationed in Changchun.Chang Gu, the head of the brigade, was impatiently preparing to get on the bus, but when he looked up, he found that he couldn't leave—the Soviet iron boss refused to let him go. According to the agreement of the Russo-Japanese War, the Middle East Railway was divided into two. The south of Changchun to Lushun was under the management of the Japanese, and the north of Changchun to Harbin was under the joint management of China and the Soviet Union (in fact, it was under the management of the Soviets). The stationmaster of the Soviet railway station showed Zhang Gu the documents from that year, and said, look at the black and white words on it, which clearly and clearly stated: The North Manchuria Railway is limited to industrial and commercial operations. This is a civilian railway, for business purposes, not for military purposes. So I don't agree with your Japanese army using my railway. Chang Gu ignored them, and moved the documents far away with a wave of his hand. If you want to hang around here, you have to listen to me. There is no way to bring these crap to the imperial army. As if being poured with a basin of cold water, the station master was cold from head to toe. In fact, the Kwantung Army was still afraid of the Soviet Union at the beginning, otherwise it would not have decided to "avoid suspicion" and attack Qiqihar first. However, the character of the Japanese is sometimes like a child. At first, when he went to get the barbecue, he was afraid of being burned by the flames on it, so he dared not reach out. Then he tried to touch it from the side, and it was all right! So while he was feasting, he didn't even pay attention to the flames. Now Changgu doesn't take the Soviet Union seriously: he thinks he is a strongman, but he is just a shrinking turtle, and he is far from fighting us. Knowing that these Japanese soldiers could not be more ruthless, the station master had no choice but to throw aside the treaty and talk about the reality, and came up with a few pre-thought-out reasons: There were not enough workers, and the railroad workers went on strike; There is not enough railway, some sections are destroyed; There is not enough carriages, and narrow-gauge carriages cannot be used. Zhang Gu didn't believe it, but after checking, he found that what he said was irrefutable facts. Facts are facts, and the troops have to be transported, and they must be transported quickly, so we have to negotiate one by one: Shortage of workers?Stop the civilian service and transfer the driver. If it still doesn't work, we can borrow someone from the Manchurian Railway; The railroad is broken?Fix it quickly, please, can you learn from us Japanese, do some overtime work, drink your vodka without doing any work; Not enough compartments? Chang Gu really wanted to draw out his knife and chop this annoying old man alive. If the other two are objective situations, except for temporary occurrences, the last one is actually deliberately done by the Soviet Union. When the Middle East Railway was built, according to Russian technical standards, it used broad-gauge railways, which were different from the narrow-gauge railways in Japan and North Korea. After Japan took control of the Nanman Railway, it rebuilt it and changed the gauge. Therefore, the locomotives and carriages used by the Manchurian Railway cannot be used on the Beiman Railway. That is to say, if you want to transport people to Harbin, you must Use Soviet broad-gauge locomotives and carriages. But the Soviets said he didn't have so many carriages. In fact, after the "September 18th Incident", most of the broad-gauge locomotives and carriages at Changchun Station were transferred northward to Harbin. Others are easy to solve, but this one cannot be solved.Even if Chang Gu went to the Valley of the Evil to practice for another two years, he would still give this answer. Well, let's get lucky.Everyone line up. In this way, it dragged on until the evening before Zhang Gu boarded the train with some officers and soldiers. This is Changchun at 9 o'clock in the evening. A few hours later, the great Shanghai in the south will be set ablaze by the Japanese navy. Just to be jealous, to see who can bully the Chinese better. Originally, the group of people from the Changgu Brigade could reach Harbin after spending more than half a day, but the road is not good-didn't I say that it needs to be repaired. They didn't reach the south bank of the Songhua River until dawn the next day, and at this time, both China and Japan had been fighting in Zhabei for a long time. I'm so anxious, can you hurry up. Can't be fast, because at this time the cavalry of the Northeast Army along the road came to harass. After a while of ping-ping-pong-pong, the train started to move again. keep walking. It was already night, and the Japanese army was afraid of being harassed. It was dark and there were few people (there were not enough carriages), so they had to camp in place. In the picture of "Battle of Harbin", we can find a place called Shuangcheng along the railway from Changchun to Harbin. 服了you。
