Chapter 3 Luzhou Years-1

The life of moving around in her childhood left a deep mark on Teresa Teng's life. She seems to be like a rootless duckweed, always floating around.Any land in the world can leave traces of her. This has also become a portrayal of her life, no matter where she can take root, blossom and bear fruit. But this kind of life of being home everywhere, coming and going in a hurry, always has a feeling of being on the road, which is so restless and tired. After living in Pingtung for five years, Deng Shu moved again with the transfer of the army, and his family moved from the southernmost tip of Taiwan to Luzhou Township, Taipei County, northern Taiwan. village".At that time, Luzhou and Sanchong in Taipei County were a township, and there were not many "dependant villages", and there were only two or three in Luzhou. However, this area of Luzhou is the birthplace of many big stars. For example, Teresa Teng spent her childhood here; Movie star Lin Fengjiao (Jackie Chan's wife) was born in a prominent family in Luzhou area, and her mother was from a family surnamed Li in Luzhou. The most well-known film stars in the 1960s and 1970s were more or less related to Luzhou and Sanchong. And the father of Jay Chou, a popular new generation singer, also lives in Luzhou.

The place where the Deng family settled down in Luzhou was used by the Taiwan Citrus Co., Ltd. in Luzhou during the Japanese occupation. After Japan surrendered and Taiwan was restored, the dark warehouse became a public land, and the government leased it to the Li family in Luzhou to run the Luzhou Theater. It was an open-air theater at that time, specializing in new dramas and movies, which once caused a sensation. After the Kuomintang government came to Taiwan, a large number of soldiers and family members of veterans poured into the Taipei area, and part of the land became "dependant villages."The orange warehouse is also divided into small units, which are allocated to military dependents, and Teresa Teng's family is one of them. Many people from all over the country gathered in the small dormitories in the "Family Village", which was overcrowded and the living conditions were relatively poor.

Teresa Teng's family of seven had no choice but to continue to squeeze together, living in a small space of about 30 square meters, and a small kitchen was built next to it with wood.In addition, due to the flooding of Luzhou, there are attics to avoid flooding. The "family village" where Deng's family lives is not large, with only a few dozen families, who treat each other warmly and support each other. The "Military Village" is surrounded by mostly farmland and vegetable gardens of local people. They also interact with the locals and get along relatively well.Even so, life was pretty hard. Therefore, in order to reduce the burden on the family, Xiao Lijun and her brothers believed in Catholicism together, so that they could receive more supplies.

Religious belief is too serious for an ignorant child.Due to Taiwan's economic backwardness at that time, most of Taiwan's pillar businesses came from foreign Catholics and Christian churches. In order to win believers, these churches usually distribute some rice and flour to the people on a regular basis, but the condition is that they must convert to religion.Just in exchange for a bag of flour, the Teresa Teng brothers and sisters had to join the church. It wasn't until Teresa Teng went abroad to explore the world that she converted to her favorite Buddhism and its branch of Tantric Buddhism.

Deng Shu, who lived in the "Family Village", used the unique skills of the northerners - pancakes, steamed buns, and noodles - as tools to make a living, and peddled them along the street to maintain his family's life.Zhao Sugui nurtured and educated the children, especially her beloved little daughter, with deep and gentle love.Despite their poverty and financial difficulties, this simple family of veterans did not give up any opportunity to enjoy family happiness. They are proud of having four sons, and even more proud of having a lark-like daughter. After becoming famous, Teresa Teng cherishes this kind of experience where the whole family stays together and struggles together.

The long years in Luzhou is an important page in Teresa Teng's life history. Here, Teresa Teng began her education and singing enlightenment, which laid a solid foundation for her singing career.During this period, it was also a critical period for this poor girl to transform into a superstar. After Teresa Teng moved to Luzhou with her family, she began her schooling career in Luzhou Elementary School. And Teresa Teng, who entered the music scene at a young age, did not have a high degree of education. The only graduation certificate she got was the graduation certificate of Luzhou Primary School with a history of 100 years.Today, an old classroom has been specially set up in this old school building as a school history room. The school history room is almost the cultural relics room of Teresa Teng, which displays a large number of old photos of Teresa Teng, Chinese and foreign records, picture albums, books and periodicals, etc.Although the display method is simple, it is a place where many Teresa Teng fans recall Teresa Teng.Every time around the anniversary of Teresa Teng's death, the media and fans of Teresa Teng from all over the world would gather here to mourn their beloved generation of idols silently.Fans and friends from Japan, the United States, mainland China and other places went to visit and search for Teresa Teng's trace.Luzhou Primary School and Teresa Teng's former residence have become an important cultural asset in Luzhou, and besides "Jinshan Junyuan" (Teresa Teng's burial place), Taiwan has the most historical memories of Teresa Teng.

As soon as she entered Luzhou Elementary School, Teresa Teng showed extraordinary talent. In the first and second grades of elementary school, Teresa Teng began to participate in various performances, and also performed songs at school evening parties. As long as there is an opportunity for a talent show in the class, Teresa Teng will sing and dance generously without stage fright. After participating in the evening performance of Luzhou Primary School for the first time, she can be seen singing on stage at various evening activities.Although Teresa Teng was young, no matter what occasion she sang, she always amazed the teachers and classmates in the audience. Her memory, comprehension, and interpretation skills are so different. Her singing ability is obviously beyond her actual age. .Teresa Teng thus became a frequent visitor to school evenings and garden parties, and was regarded as a singing genius.Teresa Teng's classmate at the time and class monitor Chen Huilong recalled: "Teresa Teng is very popular and talented in acting. She was a natural actress when she came on stage, and she often performed in the talent shows and entertainment clubs in the class or in the school. It is very impressive. , but I never thought that I would become an international star, and our classmates all feel so honored." Li Xing, a Taiwanese director who watched Teresa Teng grow up, said that Teresa Teng showed her acting talent since she was a child, and actively participated in various public welfare activities. Especially Teresa Teng's round face, dexterous eyes, correct singing voice, and well-organized performance all made this little star popular. And every Spring Festival group worship or festival, Teresa Teng will be invited to perform singing and dancing.People in the industry like Li Xing can see that this little girl is going to embark on an acting career in the future.

The reputation of the little star in Luzhou Elementary School spread far and wide, and the news that there was a little singer in the Deng family also spread like wildfire. Once, Teresa Teng went to a bicycle shop next to her home to rent a car, and the owner of the car rental shop would lend her a bicycle for free as long as Teresa Teng sang a song to him, and the time was not limited.Teresa Teng's clear singing made the owner of the car dealer very satisfied, so he lent Teresa Teng a car to ride. This is probably the first "commercial performance" for little Teresa Teng.Another time, the Overseas Chinese University Preparatory Class Student Walking Club in Luzhou specially invited Teresa Teng to participate in the performance after hearing for a long time that there was a talented young actress in Luzhou Primary School.Huang Jilu, Taiwan's "Minister of Education" who was watching the performance at the time, specially pulled her to his side and praised her greatly.

Teresa Teng described the scene of performing in front of the public many years later: "At the beginning, I participated in the elementary school talent show, and later I also participated in the singing competition held by the radio program at that time, so I sang very hard, and at that time I'm very cute." When asked about singing in front of everyone for the first time, Teresa Teng smiled and said: "It's very interesting, although I'm still young, but I'm very excited." Someone asked her if it was because she could get a bonus for participating in the competition and encouragement, she said, "Not really. I like singing very much, so I am singing for myself. Even if there is no bonus, as long as I can sing, I am very happy." Teresa Teng's pure state of mind, this kind of The state of singing and singing accompanied her to travel north and south, making her not arrogant or impetuous when she succeeded, and not discouraged when she was frustrated.Because of this, she also has a character that is both strong and gentle, a kind of freedom that can deal with any situation calmly.

"I started singing at the age of 6, and I grew up listening to Misora Hibari's "Apple Tribute", "Love You to the Bone" and other songs! " Teresa Teng said. Until Teresa Teng developed in Japan and achieved brilliant success in Japan, she still had a deep respect for Hibari Misora who was with her in the music scene. Hibari Misora (1937~1989), the singer of the Showa era, is a superstar of Japanese literature and art, and enjoys the reputation of "Queen of Music". He performed on stage at the age of 9, and started using the stage name "Misora Hibari" at the age of 11, and immediately became a household name in Japan. She is versatile, and her status in film, television, song, and drama is extraordinary.Since recording at the age of 12, she has sung 1,400 songs in her life.He has made 165 films successively and is a legendary figure popular among Japanese people. The 1940s and 1950s were an era when movies and radio dominated Japanese national life."Izu Dancer" and "Girls of Pinnacles" starring Misora once caused a sensation in Japan, and the sales rate hit the highest record. Her great achievements once made her peers hope to offset her influence and strive for their own survival, and an amazing incident occurred in which six film production companies jointly fought against American Air.The "Red and White Song Festival" held by the authoritative Japan Broadcasting Association

Held once a year. This is a grand event in the Japanese music scene, and there will be a gathering of stars at that time, competing to appear on the stage. The 16-year-old Misora has entered the competition since 1954, and has been ranked among the best every year, and has been enduring for a long time, creating a miracle. She has won awards such as the "Japan Record Grand Prix Singing Award", "Japan Record Award", "Japan Record 15th Anniversary Award", "Japan Record Blue Ribbon Public Award", and is also in the "Most Popular Singer" competition for 12 consecutive years. won the championship. And she won the National Honor Award, the highest award in Japan, just as a national singer. The 1950s and 1960s, when Teresa Teng grew up, coincided with the period of rapid economic development in Taiwan and the integration of culture into the world trend.Japan ruled Taiwan for half a century.During this period, he vigorously promoted daily education and promoted Japanese language education to transform Taiwanese into Japanese. In the early 1940s, after Gengu Chuanqing succeeded the governor of Taiwan, he promoted cultural suppression. Local operas and folk songs such as Taiwan's Gezai Opera were banned. In 1941, the "Taiwan Theater Association" was established to advocate new Taiwanese music and advocate the use of Taiwanese rhythms to sing the lyrics of Japanese songs. It is more popular to rewrite Japanese lyrics in Taiwanese and cover Japanese songs.Since 1949, Peiping dialect has been designated as the national language, and strict education in Peiping dialect has been thoroughly implemented since primary school.According to people at the time, if they accidentally spoke Taiwanese or Japanese in the classroom, they would be fined or hang a sign like a prisoner around their necks.Even so, there is still a strong Japanese color in public life. Japanese songs were chanted by ordinary people in Taiwan after the war, and they are still very popular. This is why the young Teresa Teng sang the songs of Hibari Misora loudly. But just entering the 1950s, the Kuomintang government actively controlled Taiwan in order to wipe out the influence of the Japanese occupation period. It once ordered the people to burn Japanese books and throw away Japanese clogs.Unbelievably, some Japanese movies are still shown in various places. The movies of Misora Hibari and others were very popular at that time, and some Japanese action movies and period dramas were also often staged. On the radio, Japanese songs or cover songs of Japanese songs filled with Chinese lyrics, as well as American jazz and pop music were played. In the 1950s and 1960s, all kinds of foreign songs, from European and American pop songs to Japanese enka, filled the streets and alleys. The songs of Zhou Xuan and others are also Teresa Teng's favorite. At that time, the Kuomintang fully implemented the national language, 邉雅, 那香, 那, 诗, 茏, phenol, 角, and Mu escape, 萢ぷ鳎, 郭向裰诖, brother, thank you, and take Ao P『⒆雨茦胙茙茙二⒈Take the new schoolⓩ⒑ He  ⑿ Lang Tu Nuo Huang quilt Zheng   dam Xie Xie  curtain  U  curtain   呶 Tuan yarn haiku  Si  锔 枨  animal husbandry small 5 缡 Yong stole the tomb of usino  锔 枨That is, the midgestill strider莩锔枨Mother Zhongzhong Guess节费FXuan Xingyan read Jiong’s name is called stealing倥栊状便BoQiang Negative醵International Qiang Dumplings, Kang, Nao, R, leech, now,  mortar, ∪, playing, , cutting tomb, technetium, barbarian, ran, daughter-in-law, muscle, ⒈, shrimp, manganese, A, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Funny田Kiss Chi ChiYiNiu鐾Yu Zi imitation see 妗 5 dead 鼍 faded Qin Wu┥Invasion of Armaments Huan Gong Luzhou Years Compared with Taiwanese-language songs influenced by Japan, Mandarin songs are It is closely related to the songs of the mainland, and it inherits the Shanghai songs of the 1930s, traditional local operas, especially Huangmei Diao, and folk songs from all over the mainland. In old Shanghai in the 1930s, EMI and other record companies were established one after another, causing great changes in the music industry. At first, the record company mainly produced drama records, but with the prosperity of Shili Yangchang, Zhou Xuan, Hu Die, Wu Yingyin, Li Xianglan (Yoshiko Yamaguchi), Bai Guang and other early Mandarin pop singers came into being. , "Flowers and full moon" Songs such as "In the Spring", "The Bright Moon Sends Lovesickness" made them popular overnight. He is a hot star, and Mandarin music has therefore attracted the attention of the world. At the end of the 1940s, as the Kuomintang government moved to and fro, these urban songs that sprouted and flourished in the metropolises of mainland China also moved from Shanghai to Hong Kong, and then from Hong Kong to Taiwan. These old Mandarin songs became popular in Taiwan after 1949 and became the main form of official entertainment. In the future, due to economic, political, cultural and language factors, the demand for Mandarin songs will increase, and many creative songs will be produced one after another, becoming the voice of the city that cannot be ignored. In the early 1960s, popular singers such as Yao Surong, Xie Lei, and Cai Mimi appeared on the island. Their lively music style attracted many people's attention to Mandarin songs, and gradually began to reverse the status of Mandarin songs in the Taiwanese music scene. The "golden voice" Zhou Xuan (1920-1957) was a three-dwelling star in the music, dance and film circles who became popular in Shanghai at that time. At the age of 14, she participated in the singer competition jointly organized by various radio stations in Shanghai and became one of the top ten singers; the media praised her voice as "like a golden flute piercing into people's hearts", and "Golden Voice" became her nickname. In 1937, he starred in the "soft musical" "Samsung with the Moon", and sang the theme song of the film "When Will You Come Again".This song spread like wildfire with the release of the film and the play of the record, and became a well-known popular song for a while. In 1941, Japanese singer Li Xianglan also made a record of this song.During the same period, the songs she sang in the film "Angels on the Road" and "The Song Girl at the End of the World" quickly became popular and became immortal classics.Zhou Xuan has sung more than 200 songs in her life, 114 of which are movie episodes; she has filmed more than 40 films. She is a must-song in almost every film, and her sweet and soft singing voice penetrates into the hearts of the audience. The interaction of movies and songs has made Zhou Xuan famous far and wide, and it has been deeply imprinted in the hearts of men, women and children in Shanghai, Taipei, Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur, and has become a never-fading memory of the years.Teresa Teng, like Zhou Xuan after a generation of singers, has the reputation of "golden voice".When Teresa Teng made her debut, her sweet singing voice reminded countless people of the red star Zhou Xuan in Shanghai. There were only two "Dependents' Villages" in Luzhou in the early days, one was located on Zhongzheng Road, where Teresa Teng's family lived, and the other was the Air Force's "Dependents' Village" on Xinyi Road. The music band of the Orchestra—the "Jiu San Kang Band" is also stationed in the "Military Village".Deng Shu's former robe friend (colleague) Li Chengqing happened to be an erhu player in the "Kang Orchestra".When he knew that there was a young singer in the Deng family, he asked his old friend to let Teresa Teng go to various places to perform with the Kang Band.Teresa Teng also got a little experience performing everywhere.Although there is only a meager performance fee of five or ten yuan for each performance, these sporadic performance opportunities and income are of great help to the poor Deng family. Li Chengqing also naturally became Teresa Teng's first teacher. He often played the erhu to guide Teresa Teng's singing, and also taught her some singing skills. It can be said that Teresa Teng performed on stage for the first time in the "Jiu Sankang Band".Teresa Teng accumulated the fruits of singing bit by bit in this kind of poverty and suffering. The hardships of her childhood also made her feel grateful after she grew up and became famous. She often participated in condolence activities. Moreover, since her debut, she has always insisted on never being absent from charity events. In addition, Teresa Teng's condolence evenings can always break the dull and boring traditional condolence activities, making her the "Queen of Charity Performances" in the hearts of Taiwanese and enjoying a very high reputation. Teresa Teng, who is less than 10 years old, not only has the experience of performing with the band everywhere, but she also got a chance to be on the radio. It was by chance that Teresa Teng and a group of children participated in the radio program "Spend the Weekend with You" hosted by "China Broadcasting Corporation" Shenzhi, and also made a guest appearance in a song.At that time, many media or musicians who had noticed Teresa Teng, including Shen Zhi, called Teresa Teng a "child prodigy" and concluded that her future was limitless.Shenzhi is the producer of TTV's "Stars Club", the most famous singing producer in Taiwan in the 1960s and 1970s, a great lyricist in Taiwan, and a strong career woman. She has created countless works in her life, such as "Ode to the Stars", "Unforgettable", "Under the Banyan Tree", "Returning the Pearl", "Life of Rose", "The Last Night", "I Only Care about You", "The Road of Love" After it became popular all over the island and spread all over the world, I don't know how many people have become famous and how many outstanding talents have been cultivated for the Taiwanese music scene.Teresa Teng became famous in the future because she participated in the "Star Club" with Shen Zhi and others as the main force. The tendency of foreigners to integrate into Taiwan and the intersection of local and foreign cultures made Teresa Teng rise rapidly in the music scene.Since Teresa Teng's parents were first-generation immigrants from the mainland, the whole Deng family was called "outsiders".Although Teresa Teng was born and raised in Taiwan, she is also known as "the second generation from other provinces".Teresa Teng's growth background was composed of provincial culture, which influenced her from time to time, and she had a distant expectation and a deep provincial complex in her heart. She is constantly looking for where the relationship is.Teresa Teng never forgets "my home is on the other side of the mountain", and an inseparable emotion accompanies her all her life.Compared with Taiwanese natives and the third and fourth generations of out-of-provinces, Teresa Teng and her generation have a stronger sense of out-of-province.They live in a kind of collision and integration of culture and consciousness with difficulty and persistently.Although Teresa Teng is not regarded as an authentic Taiwanese, the places where she grew up, such as Yunlin, Pingtung, and Luzhou, are all areas dominated by Taiwanese natives. The proportion of people is very small.Influenced by the specific environment in which she grew up and Taiwan's local culture, Teresa Teng lived like ordinary Taiwanese, with the same living customs and customs. Therefore, she has been able to speak Taiwanese fluently since she was a child. Many of her childhood playmates are also Taiwanese, and she is familiar with Taiwanese snacks and places of interest.School education and background in other provinces have shaped her Mandarin literacy; the cultivation of Taiwan's native culture has also made her familiar with dialects such as Hokkien and folk songs from various places, so she is also handy and unique in singing Taiwanese songs. The path represented by Teresa Teng, who grew up under the influence of her parents' "foreign province culture" and Taiwan's local "Southern Hokkien culture" is the common growth experience of many second-generation children in Taiwan's "dependant villages". Brilliant child star Teresa Teng opened the prelude to her singing career under the leadership and training of her first teacher Li Chengqing.Li Chengqing gradually discovered Teresa Teng's growing interest in singing, so he hoped that Deng's family would strengthen her singing training for Teresa Teng.Teresa Teng is more fond of singing as a performing art, besides, she can earn some extra money every time she performs, which is very beneficial to reduce the financial burden of the family, so she is more conscious and diligent in practicing her singing skills.Deng Shu accompanied Teresa Teng to the small river every morning to hang her voice and practice her voice. With the teaching and assistance of Li Chengqing and Deng Shu, Teresa Teng sang over and over again facing the rising sun, her voice became sweeter and her singing became more and more proficient. The living conditions of the Deng family have not improved much. After retiring from the army, Deng Shu once joined the "Kang Band" because of his hobby of Peking Opera, and became the captain. However, the income from the Laojun condolence performance is very meager, less than 300 yuan per month, and the salary is only settled every three or four months. In addition, they have to run around and live without a fixed place, and they cannot take care of their families at all.So after working for a few years, he quit the "Kang Band".Soon thereafter, Deng Shu started a small business and opened a grocery store. However, Deng Shu was straightforward by nature and not good at business, so he failed to get the family out of the predicament. But Deng's family has five children who need to be raised, and the family of seven lives like a year. 1959 was the most difficult time for the Deng family. At that time, Deng Shu's eldest son was 15 years old, his second son was 11 years old, and his third son was 8 years old. They were all studying in school.Teresa Teng is 6 years old and the youngest is 5 years old. They always eat the last meal but still have to pay the high tuition fees for their children. This is a cruel but unavoidable reality. So Zhao Sugui, who was diligent and thrifty, discussed with Deng Shu and had to take Shangdong pancakes to make ends meet.Even so, the Deng family is still struggling. When Teresa Teng started her primary school education, she also started her singing career. At the age of 6, Teresa Teng, like Hibari Misora in Japan, began to sing on the street under the guidance of her mother. For the sake of her family, Teresa Teng bravely undertook the sacred mission of street singing, and endured the helplessness and pain of singing.Watching helplessly his young daughter stepped into the indifferent and cruel society with high lights, Deng Shu could only see it in his eyes and hurt in his heart. There was an indescribable pain in his heart, but the vast living space was blocked It is forced to leave only this tunnel, but it has to be like this; blessings come from misfortunes, and misfortunes depend on blessings. Maybe the Deng family will turn around because of this, and maybe some miracles will happen, but May all be well.Zhao Sugui loves this little daughter even more. The gentle and caring mother always takes care of her daughter's daily life meticulously. During this period of time, Deng Shu always took Teresa Teng to practice vocalization repeatedly at dawn, and Deng's mother took her around to buy and sing at night. In the dead of night, the mother and daughter had some supper at a roadside stall near their residence.Even on Sunday, Xiao Lijun's life is still the same. The days of traveling through the streets were also the time when Teresa Teng, a young country singer, began to make her mark. "When Teresa Teng was the head of the academic department in the second grade, I happened to be the director of the school. A teacher saw that she had a talent for singing and acting, and often guided her. She is outstanding in singing and acting. But she is often criticized by the teacher because she always memorizes the lyrics in class." Teresa Teng, the director of Luzhou Primary School at the time, recalled. Indeed, for Teresa Teng, forgetting the lyrics is more terrifying than being reprimanded by the teacher. She was mixed in the "Kang Band" at that time. Not only did she have to participate in the military condolence performance, but she also had to go to the streets of night markets and vulgar wine houses to sell and sing. As a young girl, she had to try hard to remember those things that she didn't understand at the time. Lyrics and cadenced tunes.Class monitor Chen Huilong mentioned Teresa Teng's concentration on reciting lyrics at that time and said: "In class, she always sang songs and hummed the melody, and she was in her own world. The male students sitting in the back couldn't concentrate on listening to the lecture because of the noise. , I was very upset. At that time, Teresa Teng had her hair braided, and this male student tied her braids to the chair. When the class was over, when the class leader called "stand up", she panicked and lifted up the chair together, causing trouble The students roared with laughter." Because Xiao Lijun often participates in condolence activities and buys songs everywhere, her acting skills have improved rapidly. Her excellent performance always wins bouquets of flowers and bursts of applause, which doubles her confidence, and her self-esteem and pride are beyond words. .Her singing talent amazed the audience even more. However, her academic performance at school was mediocre. Her Mandarin was not bad, but her math was relatively poor, and she often failed.Teresa Teng, who is like a fish in water in music class, always feels inferior when she encounters other subjects. She also often cried for her disappointment. At this time, Deng Shu tried to comfort her daughter: "What is there to cry about? We sing well, and we will sing in the future. Maybe we will become the champion!" Teresa Teng made up her mind to recover from singing. own childish self-confidence. Teresa Teng's primary school is located in the countryside, and adopts very strict education methods, and corporal punishment of students is commonplace, especially for those students with poor grades.Teresa Teng is of course sometimes a victim of this kind of education. The executor of corporal punishment is the teacher or monitor, and the punished can freely choose the executor. Most of the corporal punishments are slaps on the palms or buttocks, and whenever this happens, Teresa Teng always chooses the squad leader to execute, because he will be more or less gentle. Zhang Hanquan, an art teacher in the third and fourth grades of Teresa Teresa Primary School, recalled that Teresa Teng not only often represented her class in sports games and singing performances since she was in the first grade of elementary school, but also she was very well-behaved and sensible since she was a child. The most special thing is her good language skills , excellent eloquence, often selected by the school as a speech contest representative to participate in inter-school competitions. At that time, Zhang Hanquan often saw Zhao Sugui playing music on the gramophone and teaching Teresa Teng to sing. When she was almost in the sixth grade of primary school, Zhao Sugui took Teresa Teng out to perform from time to time.Due to the impact on homework, he often communicated with Deng's mother at that time, reminding her that children singing may not be able to take care of their studies, and hoped that Teresa Teng would focus on her studies. Chen Xinyi, a Taipei county councilor who was only separated from the Deng family’s old house by a row of bamboo fences, said with emotion when recalling those years that the life of the Deng family was really hard, and Deng Shu had to make pancakes by himself every day. , After making the pancakes, they have to be tied to the back of the bicycle and go out to sell along the street.Due to Deng Shu's strong local accent, he "couldn't understand his speech", so he seldom interacted with his neighbors in the province except to say hello to them. But Zhao Sugui is very good at "public relations", often chatting with neighbors, and almost every day after class, she can be seen taking Xiao Lijun out to sing.In Chen Xinyi's impression, Teresa Teng has been singing in nightclubs in Taipei for a long time after graduating from elementary school, and she spends less and less time near her home.Later, after the Deng family moved away, I almost never saw Teresa Teng come back.Another Yang Lianfu who knows more about Teresa Teng's childhood story also said that Teresa Teng was well-behaved and sensible when she was young, but her homework was average and her math was relatively poor, but music emerged from the first grade of elementary school. Those who have had direct contact with Teresa Teng agree that the little Teresa Teng is very popular, kind and easy-going.At that time, more than 95% of the students in Luzhou Primary School were from the province, and there were only one or two people from other provinces like Teresa Teng in a class. And almost all the local residents in Luzhou are surnamed Li, but Teresa Teng did not feel inferior because of this. She has always been very lively and cheerful, enthusiastic about public welfare, and treats people with sincerity, so she has made many friends and is very popular. "She messed around with us, yelled with everyone in half-baked Taiwanese, and also went barefoot with us to dig taro." Chen Huilong, the squad leader, revealed these old stories. Teresa Teng's childhood impression in people's minds is very close to her image after she became famous, which shows that she was born in a commoner family, with a gentle, approachable character, modesty, prudence, and hard work.Teresa Teng's unique image in the music world is definitely not the result of commercial packaging, nor is it a new image deliberately created after she became a superstar. Teresa Teng also felt a little melancholy and embarrassing because of her poor family in her childhood.Since Deng Shu made a living selling Shandong pancakes, he always rode a bicycle selling pancakes to send her to school every morning. The young Teresa Teng used to feel very shy because of his father's occupation. So she cried and begged her father not to send her to school in person. After being enlightened by her senior tutor, Teacher Fei, the shadow in Teresa Teng's heart was removed, and she deeply sympathized with her father's hardships and hardships, so her affection for her father became deeper. And when my father couldn't go to Teresa Teng's elementary school to sell pancakes, Teresa Teng would personally bring pancakes to the school to sell.Teacher Fei, like Deng Shu, is a retired soldier who came to Taiwan from the mainland. In addition, Teresa Teng is cute, likable, and willing to work hard in her studies. Teacher Fei often calls Teresa Teng to the office to help her with her homework. The "Junior High School Entrance Examination" that Taiwanese students must pass. The relationship between Teresa Teng and Zhao Sugui is very good.Mother Deng accompanied Teresa Teng through the ups and downs of her singing career, from her obscurity to her popularity all over the world.Teresa Teng has always been grateful to her mother, and Teresa Teng's fans also respect this virtuous and strong woman.Although mother and daughter are deeply affectionate, the relationship between Teresa Teng and her father Deng Shu is also extremely harmonious.According to an old neighbor of the Deng family, Deng Shu, who works outside the house all day, loves this only apple of the eye very much. On the contrary, Zhao Sugui, who does housework at home, is more strict with the children.Yang Lianfu, who collected and organized the cultural relics related to Teresa Teng, also believed that although Deng Shu, who was engaged in military service, was serious, he loved his only daughter very much and had a very close relationship with her.Even though the Deng family often struggled to take care of three meals, after Teresa Teng graduated from elementary school, Deng Shu, who cherished her daughter, managed to raise money so that Teresa Teng could enter Jinling Girls High School in Taipei, which is famous for its beautiful girls. Talent, interest and experience have jointly created Teresa Teng's steady typhoon and outstanding singing skills, and Teresa Teng has also embarked on the road of a brilliant child star. In 1963, Taiwan fell into an almost crazy Huangmei tune craze because of the Huangmei tune film directed by the famous Hong Kong director Li Hanxiang and starring Ling Bo. Huangmei tune was developed on the basis of folk songs and dances in the adjacent areas of Anhui, Hubei and Jiangxi provinces, mainly based on Huangmei tea picking tune. One of them moved eastward to the Anqing area centered in Huaining, Anhui Province, and sang in the local dialect, known as Huaiqiang or Huai Tiao, which is the predecessor of today's Huangmei Opera. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Huangmei Opera developed rapidly, from a popular small folk opera in Anqing, Anhui, to a local drama in Anhui.Huangmei Opera, with its euphemistic and fresh singing voice and delicate and moving performance, is deeply loved by the general public. It was 1963 that really pushed Hong Kong and Taiwan Huangmei tune films to the peak. From this year until 1968, Hong Kong and Taiwan launched 50 Huangmei tune films, and every year many Huangmei tune films entered the ranks of the top ten domestic blockbusters, among which Ling Bo starred in the majority, this is Huangmei tune The heyday of cinema.Because Huangmei tune movies require a lot of episodes, the composers not only absorb Huangmei tune operas from mainland China, but also add Peking opera, Yue opera, and tiezi. "The Girl of Heaven" is taken from Yue Opera and Taiwanese folk songs respectively, while "The Book of Mandarin Ducks by Qiao Taishou" has the shadow of mainland folk songs. When Teresa Teng was a child, local minor tunes and folk songs were popular. Because Teresa Teng often listened to the music played on the radio and went to theaters and cinemas with her mother, under the influence of her ears and eyes, she actually sang well in various minor tunes. Especially the Huangmei tune, which is hummed with a tune. Ang Lee, who directed "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," was asked in an interview with The New York Times what film had the greatest impact on his career as a director. His answer was the Huangmei Diao movie directed by the famous Hong Kong director Li Hanxiang. He told reporters who interviewed him that he first saw the film in 1963, when he was only 9 years old and living in Hualien, Taiwan. When I watched this movie for the first time, I couldn't stop crying; many adults also cried when watching this movie, but he cried the most "happily", so that other audiences in the theater curiously followed the crying sound Who cried so miserably. When I watch it now, I am still in tears, and even thinking of some scenes in the film, my eyes are moistened immediately. Ang Lee said that the movie was based on Taiwanese people's love for the mainland, and it was a sensation when it was released. Many people, including Ang Lee himself, bought the soundtrack of the movie before it was screened in the town where they lived, and learned the songs and dialogue by heart. He himself could recite the entire movie's songs and dialogues by heart. This movie drives Taiwanese crazy, from housewives to college professors. Some people claim to have watched it more than 500 times, and the dialogue in the film has become the daily spoken language of many people. Some people walked into the cinema with their lunch boxes and watched one scene after another, watching it all day long.Ang Lee's parents also often went to visit. When they went to see the movie for the third time, a typhoon was blowing. But they still looked against the wind.Ang Lee admits that it is not the best movie ever, but it can give him a sense of purity, sincerity, and frankness, making him willing to believe the story.
