Autobiography of Lao She 老舍 1501Words 2018-03-16
1. Master Mei In October 1953, I went to North Korea with the third Chinese Consolation Mission to North Korea.I went abroad with Master Mei Lanfang. When traveling, we travel in the same car, and stay in the same room. When we were in the same car, he always gave me the lower berth and he slept on the upper berth. He knew that my waist and legs were sick.At the same time, although he is over sixty years old, he is still as vigorous as a young man because of his strong workmanship. His hands will not be idle.On the road, as on the stage, he handles everything meticulously.Wherever he goes, he has to be clean and orderly, and open up a place where the discipline of life shines.

When chatting, he told me everything he knew; he asked me what he didn't know.He is tireless in teaching and willing to ask for knowledge. He does not allow existing achievements to limit tomorrow's development. Whenever he has performance assignments, he sits or lies silent for several hours before going on stage.I quickly avoided him. When we were in North Korea, we took a walk after dinner and heard the sound of a piano and laughter in a hut, so we went in.A cook of the Volunteer Army is playing the huqin, and several soldiers are resting and talking and laughing. He asked the cook comrades to play the piano and sang a section. After singing, I introduced him to everyone, and the room suddenly fell silent. After staying for a long time, the cook stepped forward and grabbed his hands, holding on for a long time, saying repeatedly: Comrade Mei Lanfang!Comrade Mei Lanfang! This comrade can't think of anything else to say!

2. Beautiful and unforgettable After the consolation work was over, I got the permission of General He Long, the head of the regiment, to stay in the court for several months and experience life in the Volunteer Army. North Korea is so beautiful, with beautiful mountains, water, and flowers. The beauty of North Korea will never be forgotten. There is a hill behind my yard, which is full of trees. From my hut, I can see the corner of the hill.In that corner, there are Jindelie flowers. Why do I love those flowers, trees and landscapes so much?Because North Korea has the most beautiful people.

The small village I lived in was surrounded by mountains on three sides.Because of Sanshan's embrace, it was not blown up by the evil emperor of the United States. In addition to the old and the weak in the village, there are women.Women run everything: farming, building roads, weaving, teaching...  They dress lightly, but the colors are beautiful. They seem to compete with the Jindelie flowers on the mountain.Jindalee is not afraid of the wind and snow. They also seem to compete with Hua'er who is stronger.I have never seen such a beautiful and strong woman.I don't understand their words, but from their eyes and demeanor, I can see that they will never allow the US emperor to invade their beautiful land and homeland, no matter how violent the US emperor is.I also often hear their singing. Although I don't understand the lyrics, I know that those who sing loudly in extreme hardship will not bow to difficulties.

Beautiful people defend the beautiful country. Men in North Korea are also strong and brave. I have seen many heroes who fought against the enemy and made great contributions. The militant Dulles often bragged about how powerful the U.S. Imperial Air Force was, and even boasted extremely shamelessly that he had blown up North Korea—the God that Dulles believed in would not forgive his wolf-hearted and vicious tongue! However, I have seen the heroes and men of North Korea. They defended the beautiful rivers and mountains, and rebuilt the cities and villages with selfless labor after the war, making North Korea more beautiful than before the war.The beauty of the Korean people is incomprehensible to Dulles and his like.Oh, how can a servant of a big capitalist understand the beauty and noble qualities of a socialist-educated people.

I will never forget the beauty of North Korea's scenery, because I will never forget the beautiful people who guard the beautiful mountains and rivers.Every bridge I have crossed, every hut I have lived in, can now be reproduced as soon as I close my eyes.At the same time, I also saw the heroes and men who repaired the bridge, and the owner of the hut who warmly entertained me.These people and things educated me.In other places, I may only see beautiful scenery. In North Korea, I received an education of beauty, and every heroic man and woman was my husband, which made me see concretely what the noble and beautiful qualities of socialism are.

3. "The Nameless Heights Have a Name" I lived in a certain army of the Volunteer Army for five months, interviewed many heroes who stormed and defended the "Old Bald Mountain", and read many related documents.I decided to write a novel. However, I can't write it.Five months is not enough to fully understand the life of the army.I can't write characters. I'm not willing to hand in a blank paper either.I will not relinquish the honorable duty of singing the praises of the loveliest people.Even if you can only write some reports, it is better than handing in a blank paper.

So, I organized what I heard and saw, and wrote "The Nameless Highland Has a Name" can only be counted as a report. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the leaders, cadres and soldiers of the army, division, regiment, battalion and company of the Volunteer Army!Without their encouragement, care and help, even though it is a report, I would not have written it! The names of the characters in the article are not real, because there were many heroes and heroes in the "Lao Bald Mountain" battle, it is impossible to write them all, and it is not good to miss everything.
