When the fifth Dalai Lama holds a rosary and gently plucks the bodhi son to recite scriptures, does he have an obsession in his heart, an obsession with Mount Sumeru in his heart? Can the center of this world stay in his heart forever? His descendant Tsangyang Gyatso once wrote a poem: The king of Mount Sumeru lives in the center, Unshakable as a rock. The sun and the moon revolve around the constant, Never got lost in the wrong direction. (Translated by Zeng Yan) "Mount Sumeru" is the center of every world in Buddhism.Buddhism believes that the universe contains countless worlds, thousands, tens of thousands, hundreds of millions, and even more.In every world, there is a "Mount Sumeru" that is always in the center. It is stalwart, tall, immovable, and unmoving, as if the nature of all things is constant.

We are in the vast world, and we cannot see Mount Sumeru in the universe, but we know that Buddhism is the Mount Sumeru of believers. The fifth Dalai Lama has worked hard to promote his beliefs all his life.In his heart, there must be that tall and towering mountain. He counted the bodhisattvas, thinking about the future reincarnation, that new life, will continue to rise in his heart, a high mountain. He is very satisfied with such a future, but he does not know that in the future, Mount Sumeru will be shifted in his reincarnation mind. His reincarnation will lose its way on the way to Mount Sumeru. The existence of Mount Sumeru will become a problem in his life.

The Fifth Dalai Lama did not know this.At the last moment of his life, he may be content to guard his own Mount Sumeru, and gently let go of his fingers, letting the bodhi seed in his hand fall to the ground. The patterns on the bodhi seeds are like eyes wide open to see the world, they can't wait to see the upcoming changes. The fifth Dalai Lama passed away, but the news did not spread. The fifth Dalai Lama was looking forward to the reincarnation, but he didn't know that he had been bound by his own arrangement. Who has so much power to bind the fifth Dalai Lama? The supreme fifth Dalai Lama was not crushed by his enemies, nor surrendered to those who restrained him.He carefully laid out the strategies for his life, but he didn't want to be easily held in the palm of his hand by the person closest to him.

Since the fifth Dalai Lama and Gushri Khan were canonized, the person who specifically manages Tibetan affairs is called "Diba".The person who holds this position needs to be appointed by Gushri Khan and the Dalai Lama. The reason for setting up Diba has deep political origins.Gushri Khan was always a Mongol, and his identity was not suitable for directly ruling Tibet. He needed a puppet to rule on his behalf. But the ruler recognized by the Tibetan people is the Dalai Lama. He has supreme prestige and can fill the hearts of every Tibetan with admiration.Even people from Mongolia regard the Dalai Lama as the leader of their faith. The Dalai Lama cannot be controlled unless he agrees to have his work done.So an agreement was reached, and Gushri Khan and the fifth Dalai Lama jointly elected a person who would specifically manage Tibet's affairs.

The "Diba" who took office got the approval of the Dalai Lama.Relying on the Dalai Lama's popularity, he won the support of the people. As a result, Diba became the king of Tibet, in charge of Tibet's affairs. It's just that he is more like a general manager, he has no absolute power, he must obey the orders of Gushi Khan and the Dalai Lama. It was a very delicate position, and although the two chiefs he served had very close political interests, they carefully fought each other for power.Back then, when the fifth Dalai Lama invited Gushi Khan to come, he was just asking him to do him a favor, but this foreigner couldn't leave once he was invited.Gushri Khan's identity is not only a benefactor of the Gelug Sect, but also a political force sent by the imperial court to help manage Tibet. The Dalai Lama must deal with it carefully. The only way for him to regain some power is to have Diba who sincerely surrenders to him.

Power is a crazy thing, and someone will do anything for it.The achievements of the fifth Dalai Lama have surpassed all his previous lives, but behind such achievements, there must be an ambition to conquer everything. Therefore, when he was restrained, he felt a little unwilling.Regardless of the reason, he finally made a decision: to cultivate his own Diba. There is such a legend: before the fifth Dalai Lama was about to go to Beijing to face the Holy Spirit, he still lived in Drepung Monastery. One day, he left Drepung Monastery to go to Sera Monastery, and passed by the nobleman Zhongmaiba's house on the way. He was invited to rest in this nobleman's house for one night. There is such a record that Guanyin Bodhisattva, the incarnation of the fifth Dalai Lama, left a jeweled orb in Zhongmaiba's home. What does this metaphor mean?Tibetans like to use metaphors, and secret things are expressed in metaphors.People speculated that it was the fifth Dalai Lama who enjoyed sleeping in bed.According to legend, the woman serving the bed is the housewife of a noble family, and the nobleman regards serving the bed as a supreme honor. After that, the noble family gave birth to a noble baby boy.The baby boy's name is Sangye Gyatso.

Sangye Gyatso's uncle was the second Diba. This powerful uncle has always loved Sangye Gyatso very much.He has received a good education since he was a child. Although he looks ugly, he is extremely intelligent. At the age of eight, he was sent to the Potala Palace, where he was directly trained by the Fifth Dalai Lama. The unique conditions made him grow into a learned young man very quickly. Sangye Gyatso was only 23 years old when the third Dipa resigned.Although he was still young, the fifth Dalai Lama wanted to designate him as Diba, but the Khan of Mongolia did not nod.Perhaps, the Khan of Mongolia has been keenly aware that the fifth Dalai Lama is too capable, and he is regaining his power step by step. He must be cautious about the candidate for "Diba".But no matter how cautious he is, "Diba" must be a Tibetan. What the Khan of Mongolia lacks here is an innate advantage.

The fifth Dalai Lama elected another Diba, but the fourth Diba resigned after only three years. Therefore, the Fifth Dalai Lama once again elected his confidant, Sangye Gyatso. In order to convince everyone, he issued a proclamation. This proclamation is aimed at the monks of the three major monasteries in Lhasa, and it introduces Sangye's character, knowledge and talent. The Fifth Dalai Lama also pressed two fingerprints on the proclamation and pasted it on the main entrance wall of the Potala Palace. With such admiration, it is easy to believe the authenticity of the legend. This time, the Fifth Dalai Lama's attitude was very tough, and the Mongol Khan agreed to the new Diba candidate. At only 26 years old, Sangye Gyatso became the fifth Diba.He is indeed a powerful assistant to the fifth Dalai Lama, but he is also secretly accumulating his own influence.Three years before the death of the fifth Dalai Lama, Sangye Gyatso actually took control of the political and religious power in Tibet. The Dalai Lama was also delighted to have such a capable assistant, so he let him do it.

Sangye Gyatso was born in a political vortex, and he was destined to struggle for power all his life. This is the pawn carefully laid out by the fifth Dalai Lama. He wants to leave the best support for his reincarnation. But this reliance will become the creator of the tragedy of his reincarnation. Facts are always unexpected, and even the Living Buddha cannot predict his own future.Maybe it was the power that blinded his eyes. He counted the Bodhisattvas, but he couldn't see the truth of the world. The person who understands his own future is Sangye Gyatso. He is born for power, and he must firmly grasp the power that belongs to him.

Sangye Gyatso understood that his power was given by the fifth Dalai Lama, and once the fifth Dalai Lama passed away, his power would go with him.The Khan of Mongolia may want to cultivate his own power; the nobles in Lhasa may compete to let their descendants be the reincarnation of the Dalai Lama. These all point to one point: his own status is at stake. This is what he does not allow. He has a noble background and the ability to lead Wei Zang.No one can covet what is his.But without the fifth Dalai Lama, he is nothing. He must find a way to preserve his power. Lying on the bed was a cold corpse, the body that sheltered him as he grew up.He carefully wiped the body of the Fifth Dalai Lama.He loves him, he is his respected teacher, his protective umbrella, more likely his father, why doesn't he love him?But once the person he loves the most in his life leaves, it will shatter his hopes and dreams throughout his life. No, he doesn't allow it, he wants to keep this news a secret! In this way, he will continue to be the king of the Potala Palace, ruling the territory that belongs to him.

So he started planning. On the one hand, he announced that the fifth Dalai Lama was in poor health and needed to retreat for self-cultivation.When necessary, he will let an old lama pretend to be the fifth Dalai Lama. The old lama had served the fifth Dalai Lama, and he understood the Dalai Lama's every word and deed. As long as he stood far away, he was enough to deal with the world. On the other hand, he secretly sent people to search for the reincarnation of the fifth Dalai Lama. Only by cultivating a new master can he truly consolidate his position. This is what happened during the Kangxi period.Later, when Kangxi's grandson Qianlong took power, there was also a "Sangye Gyatso" beside him, and he was He Shen.Relying on Qianlong's trust, Heshen came to power in Qianlong's later years. When Qianlong abdicated to Jiaqing, he was still favored by the old emperor on the one hand, and on the other hand he went to curry favor with the new emperor. What he and Sangye Gyatso were doing was wishful thinking. After serving the new and old masters well, they would be able to keep their positions and never waver. But wishful thinking is not so easy to play. They have all forgotten one thing, the power attached to people will never be firm.He Shen is destined to be eradicated by Jiaqing. Although Sangye Gyatso will not be directly overthrown by the new owner, he will eventually eat the bitter fruit he planted. At this time, a bodhi child was born in a remote door corner.A pair of poor farmers gave birth to their precious son.Although in their eyes, children are not born noble figures, but they are the hope of their hard life. They love their child and treat him as a treasure. They named him Ngawang Norbu. But the child fell ill when he was born, as if destined to have a lifetime of suffering, waiting for him.The parents invited a fortune-teller, and they said that the child was bewitched by an evil spirit, but luckily there was a noble Dharma protector guarding him, so there would be no serious problems. They asked the parents to change the child's name to Ngawang Gyatso, and asked them to bathe with clean water so that the child would not die young. Bathing is a holy ritual.According to legend, when the Buddha was born, he stepped on the lotus as soon as he landed, pointed to the sky with one hand, and pointed to the ground with the other, and said: "I am the only one in the sky and on the earth!"Therefore, the birthday of Buddha became the Day of Bathing Buddha.Every year at this time, Buddhist believers bathe the Buddha with water, which is also regarded as holy water.Dipping or drinking holy water is considered a blessing. In fact, cleanliness is sacred to human beings.Water has a divine potential because of its ability to cleanse all filth. Most countries in the world use water to cleanse themselves to express their piety and respect.Baptism in Christianity is used to bless newcomers. The Islamic purification ceremony is a necessary homework before worship.Even the various ceremonies of the Han people need to bathe and cleanse themselves before they can start. Every year in the seventh month of the Tibetan calendar, crowds of people bathing in groups begin to appear on the banks of Tibetan rivers. They picked up the river water bestowed by the gods and let them drip onto their bodies. The filth of the world is washed away in such washing. The holy river washes not only their bodies, but also their souls. In this bath, they silently recited their devotion to the gods, and were grateful for the world they lived in. In India, people also believe in the sanctity of the Ganges.Taking a bath here will not only get rid of the dirt, but also get rid of the pain, and even get rid of the curse in the heart.Interestingly, the Ganges River originated in Tibet and is the name of the Yarlung Zangbo River in India.Up and down the river, how many devout believers are connected! They held the holy river water and murmured to themselves. What they cherish is the preciousness of water, and the favor of the gods. What they seek is a lifetime of well-being and the blessing of God. So Ngawang Norbu changed his name and began to be called Ngawang Gyatso. The clean water washed away the dirt on his body, and he became clean. In such a ceremony, Ngawang Gyatso received the favor of the gods, and the gods gave him a healthy body and hope for the future through clean water. This is the first change in this child's life.Parents use noble methods to obtain the hope of life for him.In the future, he will still face changes, but those noble methods may no longer bring him hope of life. The searcher returned to the Potala Palace and told Sangye Gyatso that he had found a little boy in Menyu. He is a child of the Moinba tribe. He is just over three years old. He recognized the copper bell of the Fifth Dalai Lama at a glance and even picked it up to play with. This boy looks very wealthy, surpassing ordinary people, and possesses the thirty-two auspicious looks and eighty-year-old blessings that only the venerables have.He must be the reincarnation of the fifth Dalai Lama! Sangye Gyatso nodded in satisfaction. He is not in a hurry to welcome the reincarnated soul boy, and he wants to continue to enjoy the pleasure of being respected in the world. He only let people pay attention to this boy secretly, and did not reveal any rumors. He only brought him to Lhasa when needed, and used it as his own shield. Sangye Gyatso let the young trees grow freely in the forest, but he sharpened his ax and waited for the right time to cut it down. Located in the southeast of Tibet, Menyu is an auspicious place surrounded by mountains.Although far away from the political center, it has the warmest climate in Tibet. This place is known as the Jiangnan of Tibet. The Yarlung Zangbo River brings warm and humid air. Even though the plateau has been icy and snowy, and the cold wind is blowing, it is still full of green mountains and green waters, full of spring. This is the real Shangri-La.In a world that is almost isolated from the rest of the world, there are distant snow-capped mountains guarding the tranquility, streams and pastures nurturing life, and even dense forests producing rare treasures. The people here are peaceful and warm, and lead a self-sufficient and leisurely life. All of this seems to be the Taohuayuan described by Tao Yuanming: "The land is flat and open, and the houses are like mulberry and bamboo in the fertile fields and beautiful ponds. The traffic in the rice paddies, the chickens and dogs hear each other. Among them, the planting, men and women's clothes are all like outsiders." Why is the most beautiful place in the hearts of the world, the place that is isolated from the world?Thinking about it later, it turned out that it was the leisure without disputes that gave birth to the ideal Taoyuan. In the past, Lao Tzu advocated the ideal of "a small country with few people" and "no contact between old and dead", but he was scoffed at by the ambitions of the world.People are troubled inexplicably in the struggle for power, and only then do they miss the carefree state.Xanadu, which can allow the world to escape worries, is a spiritual consolation. People are eagerly looking for the hidden beauty.Liu Ziji, a senior scholar in Nanyang, exhausted all his energy for Taoyuan, but he was depressed and fell ill when he couldn't find it.Tao Yuanming found a place in the mountains and lived a leisurely life outside the world.Hilton's novels have made more Westerners join the ranks of searching for Xanadu. But all the beauty lies in the words of the people in Taoyuan: "It is not enough for outsiders." Not dealing with the outside world is the key to maintaining its beauty. Therefore, neither the prefect nor Liu Ziji could find Taoyuan, nor could Hilton and Western explorers find Shangri-La.Only a place that is never polluted by the filth of the world can maintain its beauty.Come to think of it, these most beautiful places are also trying their best to protect their purity. Menyu is such a pure place. The dense forest and rocks block the footsteps of the world, and only the strong Monba people can live here. They enjoy the landscape and the richness here.Medog, located at the big bend of the Yarlung Zangbo River, is the extreme here.In order to improve the poverty here, the government built roads again and again, but the roads were destroyed by flash floods and mud again and again. When outsiders trek thousands of miles and are out of breath in order to see this otherworldly paradise, Menba people help them carry heavy loads and cross mountains and mountains lightly. This is their world, not our garden. Other places in Menyu also maintain themselves in this way.In Tibet, the road here is the most difficult, and it is always blocked by mountain torrents, mudslides, ice and snow.Naturally, every time he succeeds, there will be a moment of peace here. This makes this world, even now, still maintain a kind of original beauty. Ngawang Gyatso lives in such beauty. He has a blind date with his neighbors and a companion with heaven and earth. He grew up in a free world, enjoying the love of his parents.Everything here is so true and pure, there is no intrigue, no conflict of interests, life is like poetry and painting, casual romance, infiltrating Ngawang Gyatso's body and mind.If at this time, there is Mount Sumeru in his heart that does not move, then what Mount Sumeru represents must be this happy life. This kind of life makes him different from other reincarnated soul boys. Those children who were recognized as reincarnated soul children were sent to Buddhist temples to study early.Sangye Gyatso's ambition enabled Ngawang Gyatso to enjoy more secular life.According to Freud's theory, childhood experiences will determine a person's life. And Ngawang Gyatso's secular childhood also determined that his life will be full of secular romance. I don't know if this is luck or misfortune. When Ngawang Gyatso sang songs that belonged to them with his parents and friends, he never thought that poetry would make or destroy his life.
