Chapter 4 Four, potential training

We are all actors in the world, thinking that we can escape the tragedy by taking off our costumes and escaping before the end of the play, but we don’t know that the play of life has just begun. In this world, we often encounter many setbacks. Destiny is like water waves, sometimes rough and sometimes calm.We cannot hold the rope tightly at any time, and it is inevitable that we will get wet with water when walking in front of the water. There are always too many disappointments in life. When you are sad, you just want to escape and choose to escape from the world. No one is born with a wise man who sees through life and death in the world of mortals. If the fate of the world has not gone away, there will not be so many monks who have escaped into Buddhism. We are all actors in the world, thinking that we can escape the tragedy by taking off our costumes and escaping before the end of the play, but we don’t know that the play of life has just begun.

In fact, it is wrong to cover ourselves with dust, just because yesterday's enthusiasm is dead, but our physical body is still alive. If you are alive, you can't completely break off your debts. At any time, you can only carry your bags and go on the road.We cannot make ourselves into butterfly specimens, so that the body dies and the soul lives. There are too many invitations in life, no one can be independent and calm.Su Manshu chose to become a monk for the second time. It was a blow he could not bear to lose. To show his sincerity and determination, he threatened to "suicide" and presided over his shaving, and "retreat" for three months to devote himself to practicing.

A sixteen-year-old boy should be young, but he is willing to close the door of life early, live in a meditation room, and accompany scriptures and wooden fish every day.Under a sesame oil lamp, Ren Liunian washes away his memory, letting himself slowly fade away from the past complex. The life in the temple is really simple and clean. Except for a few pilgrims every day, there are only monks and ancient Buddhas in the whole temple. In addition to morning and evening classes, they gather together to study Zen and study scriptures, make tea and play chess, or sit alone and meditate on Zen.A volume of scriptures contains all the memories of the Buddha; a stick of sandalwood ignites so many bright and extinguished times; a ray of bells awakens the dreamers in the world.

At this time, Su Manshu came to the temple not out of real practice. He hadn't seen so many landscapes of the world; he hadn't tasted so many tastes of the world. It is only because of the loss of a loved one that one is so disheartened, and the depths of Buddhism have become a safe haven for the lost.A person's life is constantly experiencing gains and losses; once thought that losing someone would cause the world to collapse, and in the end, time would heal all scars. One day, when I told about the vicissitudes of the past, the peace seemed to happen to others and had nothing to do with me.Maybe you and I understand these principles, but when encountering the process, you will still be stuck in the quagmire, and a little trauma will make you feel miserable.

In Su Manshu, we see the fragility of human nature, a common fragility.Unbearable to lose, so self-exile, or self-enclosed, walking to the cliff, since I dare not take a leap, I can only choose a way to save myself. We always regard all tragedies as mistakes, and many encounters in life are mistakes. Cowardly people regret a mistake, while brave people have no regrets for their sacrifices.Sixteen-year-old Su Manshu is still unable to bear too much burden of life, and the death of Juzi completely shattered his dream of love. Before he had time to clean up his mood, he fled like this.In that turbulent era, the temple was undoubtedly a refuge, where not only the body could be placed, but the soul could also be saved.

Some people say that the Buddhist realm is empty and empty, and it is only the sustenance sought by those who are passive and avoid the world. The things in this world are originally believed to exist, and not believed to exist.Nothing is completely real, even what I experienced yesterday is like a dream today. No matter what choice you and I make, as long as it suits you and can liberate yourself, it is correct.Paying and receiving are never completely equal. How can the steelyard of life be absolutely fair. How many stories start gorgeously and end lonely. In the established reality, even our doubts are powerless, whether we nod or shake our heads, we must accept it silently.

Su Manshu prides himself on being able to endure the quiet time in the temple, thinking that he can completely cut off his obsession with the world by turning around decisively, and that imprisoning himself in the corner of the lotus can redeem his sins and make up for his emotional shortcomings. So he insisted on shaving, cutting off three thousand threads of affliction, in order to achieve complete purity and ease.As soon as he entered the meditation room, he retreated and meditated quietly, avoiding contact with the world, so as to tell the Buddha his determination.Abandoning the five flavors of the world and being pure and vegetarian every day, such a light and watery day may be a kind of nourishment for a person who has lived a luxurious life for a long time; It is inevitable that some strong people are difficult.

In the first days Su Manshu was very determined, we can imagine the despair of a person who has just lost a loved one.He became a lone goose again, and by the bank of Yunyashui, his wings wet by the rain had lost the courage to fly. When he was at the end of his life, he found another way out for himself, which might not be the place he dreamed of, but it could give him peace of mind. There is no harm, no strife, no calculations, everyone only has Buddha in their hearts, holding scriptures in their hands, and eating light food.Life is simple and clean, but self-discipline is required. There are also clear rules and regulations in the place of Buddhism, and only those who can endure loneliness are left here.

In fact, Su Manshu is a wise man with great understanding. Although he is young, his understanding is higher than that of many senior monks. He has extraordinary talent, reading scriptures and practicing Zen is not like ordinary people, and a little bit can brew an image of tolerance. He can turn the simple into the profound, and he can also turn the complicated into the simple.During this pure day, he really cultivated his body, immersed himself in Buddhism, and used the ethereal Zen state to get rid of his inner depression. He even had to admit that the Buddha is an antidote blindly, removing all kinds of poisons in the world, alleviating his pain, making him feel cool when he is hot and dry, and has support when he has no one.

We seem to be able to see a handsome young man in a monk's robe spending a lonely time in a small meditation room.Green lanterns and yellow scrolls, wooden fishes in long slumps, old tables and chairs, that's all he can have. From a small window, you can see the outside world. During the day, there are occasional pilgrims and dappled sunlight;Such a leisurely life is the longing of many people in the world, because they can't have it, so they yearn for it.This is an elegant but monotonous life. There is always a gap between dreams and reality. When you really get what you want, you will know that many desires are not that good.

In this world, we are all the most mediocre people, and we can't go beyond the world.Too many ideas drive you and me, and we can't do what we always do.Maybe today I shave a beautiful woman, and tomorrow I die for a beautiful woman; I am tired of the crowded and prosperous world today, and I am afraid of the deserted coldness in the monastery tomorrow. Therefore, we believe that those who live a splendid life in the secular world, if they do not have a passion for life, they will not be able to do that kind of devotion; we should also admire those monks who live their passionate years in temples until they are as light as clear water Or, if you don’t have a meditative mind, how can you treat the world as nothingness. When Su Manshu entered the Pujian Temple, he had no other intentions. He just wanted to atone for a love that was as beautiful as cherry blossoms, and closed himself in a quiet way, in order to seek the liberation of the soul.If it wasn't for his unresolved karma and unbreakable obsession, with his aptitude and comprehension, he would surely become a generation of eminent monks after several years of cultivation. At that time, he would not only save himself, but also use his Zen mind to save sentient beings. But he is not a person who can stay lonely in his bones, and a small temple can't let his extraordinaryness be stretched.Wet wings can be air-dried, and cut wounds will heal again. Yes, how can the lonely blue lanterns in the temple be compared to the glass fireworks in the world of mortals; After several months of retreat, Su Manshu began to feel a little impatient of loneliness. A beam of flickering sunlight, a swirling fallen leaf, and a gentle breeze made his heart surge. He wrote a poem that "it's all right after the meal in the mountain, and the bowl is full of flowers".The coldness and loneliness here are hard for ordinary people to understand. The deep scars of the past gradually fade away, and the heart-piercing pain is also relieved. It only hurts when you think about it. When he came, Su Manshu didn't explain to anyone, and when he left, he didn't want to say goodbye to anyone.Although he is a lone goose, at least he is free in his world, and he doesn't need to care about other people's eyes.Be it arrogant or stubborn, he finally couldn't bear the dullness of being a monk, and left Pujian Temple on a dark and stormy night of a month.Afterwards, the dusty road was long, and he didn't think about how to go on, maybe he was still like a floating weed with no destination, or maybe he was chasing waves in the surging world. The days in the temple are regarded as pawning a piece of tranquility with youth. There are gains and losses in any choice, and only you can experience the depth of the gains and losses.Follow the fate freely, follow the fate freely, this is the way of Buddhism, never reject those who come, never stay behind those who go.The moment Su Manshu stepped out of the threshold was not so decisive. He secretly said to the Buddha: Buddha, one day, I will come back, and maybe at that time, I will never leave again. This is not a promise, nor is it an oath, but a simple wish of a person who is greedy for the prosperity of the world of mortals and can't let go of the purity of the temple.
