When Professor Wu Mi taught the course "Comparison of Chinese and Western Poetry" at Tsinghua University, he wrote a teaching explanation: "This course selects a number of Chinese and Western ancient and modern poems and essays on poetry, recites the lectures, and compares evidence. The teacher will read poems in the past The experience and methods gained from poetry will be contributed to the students. And the teacher’s adoption and coherence skills are mere acquisitions, and they are willing to share them and discuss them together, in order to create true ideals and exquisite appreciation, and solve the most important problems in literary life. .This program does not study the history of poetics or literature research, but only hopes that every student will be good at reading and writing poems, and eventually become a perfect and profound person.”

In 1943, Wu Mi criticized the teachers of Southwest Associated University in his diary for "not doing their jobs properly" and serving in various social institutions. Homework, not even present when grading freshman exam papers. And Wu Mi even had to accompany the students during their exams, preparing cakes and tea for the students. At Wuhan University, Wu Mi served as the head of the Department of Foreign Languages. He designed relatively complete courses for students, hired and introduced many well-known professors, such as Zhou Xuliang, Tian Dewang, etc., to teach and give lectures in the department, and donated many foreign literatures that he had collected for many years. Books, the establishment of the library of the Department of Foreign Languages. At the time of the civil war, many students had no intention of studying and participated in the student movement of "anti-civil war, anti-hunger, and struggle for democracy".Wu Mi was very saddened by this. On March 4, 1947, Wu Mi wrote a diary: "From 2 to 4 in the afternoon, the library of the Department of Foreign Languages opened, and Mi went to give guidance. There were only two or three students who came, which was very frustrating. It made Mi feel very sad today. Students don't like to learn, and Mi Zhi's enthusiasm for everything is just a waste of energy."

Wu Mi was extremely distressed when the students did not study hard.Wu Mi once posted a note on the bulletin board of the Faculty of Arts to persuade students. He wrote neatly with a brush: "Mi came to teach today, and there is no one in the classroom. The scenery of Luojia Mountain is beautiful. Mi deeply regrets why he didn't cherish the time of seeking knowledge..." Wu Mi’s diary once recorded the reasons why the students of Wuhan University were unwilling to take his class: “At eight to nine o’clock in the morning, the class of “Literary Criticism” was taught. Xu Benxuan and Liu Wanyin came to see him. Reading new Chinese literature... Mi is not happy. Gai Mi is at Wuhan University? I feel that I have not been able to do my best to cultivate talents normally. But all the students are lazy and not good at reading. They are stupid and mediocre. Yiling Mi has nothing to love about Wu Da."

In 1956, Wu Mi donated more than 1,000 volumes of Western books (many of which were out of print) to the library of Southwest Normal University. In 1977, Wu Mi, who was physically weak due to torture, returned to his hometown in Shaanxi. When he heard his niece, who was preparing for the college entrance examination at the time, talk about some middle schools not offering English classes because there were no foreign language teachers, he said eagerly: "Why don't they invite Me? I can still give lectures."
