Chapter 92 91. Jiang Zhuying——Gao Fengliang devoted himself to the cause

Jiang Zhuying (1939-1982), male, Han nationality, from Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, a member of the Communist Party of China.During his lifetime, he was an associate researcher at the Changchun Institute of Optics and Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Jiang Zhuying is an outstanding talent in the field of optics in my country. He has the courage to explore, study hard, and work hard in scientific research. He has done a lot of work in the fields of optical and mechanical testing. In 1965, he and his research team developed China's first optical transfer function measurement device and built a first-class optical testing laboratory in China.Later, he designed the color separation characteristics and coating requirements of China's first electronic color separation machine, and successively solved many key technical problems in the development of domestic lenses."About Spectral Transmittance of Photographic Objective Lens" written by him has important guiding significance for China's film and television industry. He is an expert in the calculation, installation, testing, programming and standardization of optical transfer functions. He treats comrades, honor and personal interests with an open mind and a noble style. He mastered five foreign languages, English, German, French, Russian, and Japanese, and translated a large number of foreign language materials, but never took them for himself. He helped his colleagues to revise their papers over and over again, but he did not allow his name to be signed when they were published; the scientific research results obtained by his joint research with others were valued by the optical community. When he was invited to give a report at an academic conference, he asked his co-workers to Give up the honor to others; he has repeatedly voluntarily given up to others for the institute's evaluation of titles, distribution of houses, and salary increases. In June 1982, when Jiang Zhuying went to work in other places, due to overwork, his condition deteriorated and he died unfortunately at the age of 43.He was posthumously awarded as a national model worker and a member of the Communist Party of China.

Jiang Zhuying was born in 1939 in an old employee family in Hangzhou. After liberation, he grew up under the red flag like other children. In 1954, his father was wrongly sentenced to reform-through-labour and imprisoned due to historical issues. At the age of 15, he suffered tremendous pressure both mentally and in life. But he never complained, and still studied hard to repay the motherland. In 1956, he was admitted to the Physics Department of Peking University with honors.During his stay at Peking University, he learned five foreign languages including English, Russian, German, Japanese and French while studying professional courses well.Due to family difficulties, Jiang Zhuying completed her studies with a stipend. "The parents who give birth to me, the party who educates me" is his creed.During the ten winter and summer vacations during college, he spent eight of them in the library. On the eve of graduating from university in 1962, his mother wrote to him urging him to return to work in Shanghai or Hangzhou.Jiang Zhuying understands her mother's difficulties, but she also knows that China's largest optical base and the most famous optical scientists are in the Northeast. He wrote a letter to persuade his mother, came to Changchun, and became a graduate student of Wang Daheng, a famous optical scientist at the Changchun Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Instructor Wang Daheng quickly saw that his student was simple, upright, and hardworking, and judged that he was a piece of jade in the rough, which would surely emit extraordinary brilliance after being carved.According to the guidance of the supervisor, Jiang Zhuying chose the pioneering research topic of optical transfer function. In 1965, at the age of 26, with the help of his colleagues, he established my country's first optical transfer function measurement device, which greatly surprised Japanese scholars.Since then, he has made one important achievement after another in the research of optical transfer function, and successively solved some key technical problems in the development of domestic lenses. In the 1970s, my country's color TV restoration technology was very backward, resulting in serious color distortion.Jiang Zhuying worked with his mentor Wang Daheng to tackle key problems, and proposed a new solution for the quality of color restoration, and finally broke through this technical difficulty, allowing people to see color TV with clear images and vivid colors.

Jiang Zhuying's life was full of ups and downs. Because of his family background, he could not solve the problem of joining the party, but he never wavered in his firm belief in the party, and he did not change his pure heart for the motherland. He often said: "A person's life is short, but the cause of the party is eternal." In the twenty years in Changchun Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, he has grown from a student to an associate researcher, and has never complained. No regrets, work diligently.Although he has no official position, he is very concerned about the suffering of the masses, and is known as "the minister who doesn't care". In June 1982, during the last four days of Jiang Zhuying’s life, he cleaned up the newly built laboratory, repaired the damaged asphalt pavement in the courtyard, helped his colleagues repair the sewer at home, and endured the pain in his abdomen to go to Chengdu to help a family member. Urgent colleagues on a business trip.On the night of his flight to Chengdu, he called a meeting of the acceptance team until 11 o'clock at night. In the early morning of the next day, he took two buses and walked three sections to reach a certain factory, where he started working despite his illness. In the middle of the night of June 14, he was sent to the hospital due to unbearable abdominal pain.Doctors diagnosed him with chronic overwork, suffering from suppurative cholangitis, septicemia, acute pulmonary edema and other diseases.Due to ineffective rescue, he died at 5:3 pm on June 15 at the age of 43.

Jiang Zhuying's greatest wish in life is to become a member of the Communist Party.During his lifetime, he repeatedly applied to the party organization, and shortly before his death, the Institute had approved him to fill out the "Volunteer Form for Joining the Party".After his death, the Jilin Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China ratified him as an official member of the Communist Party of China according to his performance and wishes during his lifetime.Approved by the Changchun Municipal People's Government, his ashes were placed in the Revolutionary Cemetery.
