After liberation, he has been teaching at Renmin University of China since 1951.He is diligent, conscientious and responsible in his work. He has written a number of academic works and is deeply loved by students. In 1957, Comrade Ge Peiqi was wrongly classified as a rightist and became famous throughout the country. In the same year, he was arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment for the crime of "current counter-revolution" and "historical counter-revolution" in June 1959. He was unjustly imprisoned for 18 years.But he is frank and open-minded, able to correctly deal with personal misfortunes, and maintain a revolutionary integrity.During the period of amnesty for war criminals, he was released in 1975 as a general-level officer of the Kuomintang.Under the direct care of the Party Central Committee, he was rehabilitated in December 1980, and was later certified by the relevant departments of the Central Committee and the former Secretary of the Henan Provincial Party Committee. In May 1983, with the approval of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee, the party's organizational relationship that had been interrupted for many years was restored.

After resuming his party membership, Comrade Ge Peiqi resolutely supported the party's basic line, devoted himself to the construction of four modernizations with a new attitude, wrote books when he was sick, actively participated in social activities, and dedicated the rest of his life to the people. Comrade Ge Peiqi's life was a life of revolution. He was upright, open-minded, tenacious, and endured humiliation. Under extremely difficult circumstances, he thought of the country and the people, firmly believed in the truth, and never wavered in his belief in revolution.After the unjust case was rehabilitated, he was strict with himself, lenient to others, and extensively contacted and united the masses.He is helpful, outspoken, and especially concerned about those who have been wronged and turned to him for help, and is respected by the people around him.He lived a very simple life, never regarded himself as an old revolutionary, and always maintained the true qualities of a revolutionary.
