The Chinese National Liberation Vanguard is a peripheral organization of our party, established on the basis of the Pingjin students going south to expand the propaganda group. The establishment process will be briefly described as follows: On January 13, 1936, the third group of the Pingjin students' south expansion propaganda group arrived at Gaobeidian, Hebei Province, and was surrounded by Kuomintang police and plainclothes in a small shop. When they were forced to disband, all members of the group held a final meeting at night a meeting.Everyone was impassioned, filled with indignation, and unanimously stated: We must continue to unite and fight to the end for the resistance against Japan and national salvation! And asked to set up an organization to preserve this anti-Japanese force. After heated discussions, Comrade Jiang Nanxiang, head of the third regiment, suggested the establishment of the "Chinese Youth National Salvation Pioneer Group", which was enthusiastically approved by all members. After the third regiment returned to Peiping, this organization was established.

Some members of the first and second regiments of the south expansion propaganda group arrived in Baoding on January 21.We did two days of propaganda work; on January 23, the Hebei Provincial Government did not allow them to go out, and the propaganda work could not be carried out.Immediately, they received a notice from the Peking Students' Federation asking them to return to Peking. That night, at Baoding Datong Middle School where they lived, the last meeting of league members before returning to Peiping was held. The members said: If we want to fight to the end, and if we want to preserve our strength, we must establish an advanced anti-Japanese organization.Members came up with many names for the organization. In the end, the meeting unanimously approved: call it the "National Liberation Vanguard"; and elected Han Tianshi and other nine people as preparatory committee members.

After the Southward Expansion Propaganda Group returned to Peiping, on February 2, 1936, a meeting of all members of the League was held at Peking Normal University, with the consent of the underground organization of our party. The "Chinese Youth National Salvation Pioneer Group" and the "National Liberation Vanguard" were merged, named "Chinese National Liberation Vanguard" (referred to as "Minist Pioneer"), and officially announced its establishment.I immediately joined the "Minist Pioneers" and drew closer to the Communist Party.
