Comrade Jia Tuofu, member of the Eighth Central Committee, former deputy director of the State Planning Commission, and deputy secretary of the party group, was brutally persecuted to death by Lin Biao, the "Gang of Four" and that consultant on May 7, 1967. He was 54 years old. Comrade Jia Tuofu is from Shenmu County, Shaanxi Province.In his youth, he devoted himself to the great revolutionary cause of the Chinese people. He joined the Communist Youth League of China in 1926 and became a member of the Communist Party of China in 1928.He has successively served as acting secretary of the Northern Shaanxi Special Committee of the Communist Youth League, member of the Shaanxi Provincial Youth League Committee and secretary of the Xi'an Municipal Youth League Committee, member and secretary-general of the Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, and was responsible for organization and publicity. In 1933, on behalf of the Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee, he reported to the Party Central Committee and attended the Fifth Plenary Session of the Sixth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.At the Second National Congress of the Chinese Soviet, he was elected as an alternate member of the Central Executive Committee of the Chinese Soviet Government.Participated in some important work of the party.During the 25,000-mile Long March, he served as the head of the White Army Work Department of the General Political Department of the Red Army of Workers and Peasants.After the Red Army arrived in northern Shaanxi, he served as director of the White Area Work Department of the Central Bureau of the Shaanxi-Gansu Soviet Area, director of the Propaganda Department of the Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee, special commissioner of the Central Committee, secretary of the Guanzhong Special Committee, and secretary of the Trilateral Special Committee.During the War of Resistance Against Japan and the War of Liberation, he served successively as secretary of the Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee, member of the Northwest Working Committee of the Central Committee, director of the United Front Work Department of the Central Bureau of the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region, director of the Fourth Bureau of Investigation and Research, member of the Standing Committee and Secretary-General of the Northwest Bureau, and director of the Northwest Finance and Economics Office.After liberation, he successively served as a member of the Standing Committee of the Northwest Bureau, the first deputy director of the Xi'an Military Control Commission, secretary of the Xi'an Municipal Party Committee and mayor, director of the Northwest Finance and Economics Commission, deputy director of the Central Finance and Economics Commission, vice-chairman of the Central People's Government Planning Commission, and the Fourth Office of the State Council Director and Minister of Light Industry, Deputy Director and Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the State Economic Commission.On the Eighth Congress of the Communist Party of China, he was elected as a member of the Central Committee.He was also elected as a representative of the first and second National People's Congress, and a standing member of the third CPPCC National Committee.

Comrade Jatov is an outstanding member of the Communist Party of China. He is one of the leaders with unique insights and talents on the economic front of our country.

In 1959, Comrade Jatov was mistakenly identified as a right-leaning opportunist. Even in such a situation, he kept the overall situation in mind, regardless of personal gains and losses, and still worked and studied selflessly. After the "Cultural Revolution" began, he faced the frame-up and persecution by Lin Biao and the "Gang of Four", he remained unyielding and fought tenaciously until the last moment of his life. Comrade Jatov's life was a life of fighting, a life of revolution.He was loyal to the party, to the people, and to Chairman Mao's revolutionary line.He has deep proletarian feelings for Comrades Mao Zedong, Liu Shaoqi, Zhou Enlai, and Zhu De.
