Chapter 27 Chapter Twenty Six
Mason, Della, Derek, the Bancrofts, Roseanne, etc., all gathered in Mason's office.
Mrs. Bancroft seemed almost moved to tears. "Mr. Mason, I really don't know how to express my thanks."
Bancroft pulled out his checkbook and said, "I can't put it into words, so I'm going to put it in numbers."
Mason said: "Bancro, I'm glad you had the courage and determination to say that in court. Now, you should feel that your life is better and more meaningful."
Mason came around the table and said, "I want to shake your hand. It's a pleasure to shake a man's hand." Mason said, shaking Bancrowe's hand.
Roseanne kissed Mason passionately on the cheek, and Mrs Bancroft kissed him on the other cheek.
Mason, who had two lipstick marks on his face, glanced at Della with a smile.
Della pouted slightly.
"Nothing is out of courtesy, so let me come too," she said.
