Chapter 29 Chapter 31 Osiris Numbers

God's fingerprint 葛瑞姆·汉卡克 9173Words 2018-03-14
Archaeological astronomer Jane B. Sellers studies Egyptology at the Oriental Institute at the University of Chicago.She spends winters in Portland, Maine, and summers "head east" to Ripey Neck, a 19th-century town on Maine's rocky coast.She said: "The night sky there is as clear as the desert sky; when the mood comes, no one will be surprised if you read the ancient Egyptian pyramid scriptures aloud to the seagulls..."① Only a few scholars have verified the theory proposed by Santillana and De Chengde in the book "Hamlet's Stone Mill", and Schellers is one of them.Her efforts have been affirmed by some scholars②.She believes that the study of ancient Egyptian civilization and religion must use astronomy, especially the concept of precession.She pointed out: "General archaeologists do not understand the phenomenon of precession. The lack of this aspect will inevitably affect their research and conclusions on ancient myths, ancient gods, and ancient temple structures... For astronomers, precession is a confirmed phenomenon. the astronomical facts; scholars who study ancient human civilization must master this knowledge quickly." ③

Scheles' arguments are presented in her recently published book, The Death of Gods in Ancient Egypt.She believes that the Egyptian myth of Osiris may deliberately hide a set of key figures, and these figures may be "redundant" in the storyline, but they can provide us with a set of eternal calculation methods; according to this set of methods, we can The following values are calculated exactly: ①. The slow precessional wobble of the earth causes the position of the vernal equinox to move 1 degree along the ecliptic (related to the zodiac constellation); ②. The time required for the sun to pass through an entire zodiac house (30 degrees);

③. The time required for the sun to pass through two zodiac houses (a total of 60 degrees); ④. The time required for the sun to move 360 degrees along the ecliptic to complete a precession cycle or "big year"—the so-called "Great Retur" (Great Retur)④—. Calculating the "giant slewing" The key precession numbers that Shelles unearthed in the myth of Osiris are 36072, 3O, 12.Most of these figures appear in the part of the myth that tells the origin of each character.E.A. Wallis Budge, former director of the Egyptian Antiquities Department of the British Museum, briefly described this myth:

Geb, the god of the earth, fell in love with the goddess Nut, the wife of the sun god Ra.Ray was furious when he discovered the adultery; he cursed his wife not to have children no matter what year or month.Thoth, the god of knowledge and magic, also fell in love with Nut.He gambled with Luna and won five full days from her.South added these five days to the then three hundred days per year.On the first of these five days Nut gave birth to Osiris; at the moment of his birth a voice was heard announcing that the Creator had been born. The myth of Osiris also mentioned that at that time there were 360 days in a year, divided into "12 months with 30 days in each month"⑥.In general, Schellers points out, the myth of Osiris uses "certain words at key points, prompting the reader to pay attention to the numbers contained in them, and to do simple mental calculations"⑦.

So far Scherles has given us three precession numbers: 360, 12, 30.The fourth number comes later, but is the most important.In Chapter 9 of this book, we mentioned that the evil god Seth instigated a group of good people to murder Osiris.A total of 72 people participated in the conspiracy. After mastering the final key figures, we can follow Schellers' instructions to do some calculations, just like operating an ancient computer: 12 = number of zodiac constellations; 30 = along the ecliptic, the degrees occupied by each zodiac constellation; 72=The time required for the vernal equinox sun to move along the ecliptic to complete the precession of 1 degree, that is, 72 years;

360=total degrees of the ecliptic; 72×30=2160 (the time it takes for the sun to move 30 degrees along the ecliptic and pass through the entire zodiac constellation, that is, 2160 years); 2160×12 (or 360×72)=25920 (the time required to complete a precession cycle or "big year", that is, 2592O years, which is the total number of years required for the "big slewing"). Other numbers and number combinations also appear, such as: 36=The time required for the vernal equinox and the sun to move along the ecliptic to complete half a degree of precession, that is, 36 years;

4320=The time required for the vernal equinox sun to complete the precession movement of 60 degrees and pass through the two zodiac constellations, that is, 4320 years. This, Scheles argues, is the basic ingredient of the astronomical precession code that recurs in ancient myths and temples.Like occult numerology, the cipher allows one to move the decimal point left or right at will; all related to the precession rate of the equinoxes) in almost any combination, permutation, multiplication and division. The most important number in the password is 72.Ancient myths often add 36 to this number to make 108, then multiply by 100 to get 10800, or divide by 2 to get 54, then multiply by 10 to get 540 (5400O, 540000, 5400O00, etc.).Another key number is Z16o (the number of years it takes for the equinox sun to transit a zodiac sign).Ancient myths sometimes multiply this number by 10 or a factor of 10 to get 216000, 2160000, etc.;

more precise than hibacus Schellers believes that the calculation of these numbers was deliberately coded and hidden in the myth of Osiris in order to convey the information of astronomical precession to the uninitiated.If Schellers' hypothesis is correct, we are confronted with an intriguing one.anomaly.If these numbers really involve astronomical precession, it would be an incredible phenomenon for them to appear in ancient times, because the scientific knowledge contained in these numbers is too advanced to be calculated by any known civilization in ancient times. Let us not forget that the myths containing these numbers already existed when the ancient Egyptians invented writing (in fact, the pyramid scriptures written around 2450 BC contained some elements of the Osiris myth, and according to the above and below We can judge that even at that time, these components were very old) ⑧.The Greek astronomer Hibacus, recognized as the "discoverer of precession" by orthodox academic circles, lived in the 2nd century BC.According to his calculation, the precession movement of one year is 45 or 46 arc seconds, that is to say, it takes 80 years (calculated by moving 45 arc seconds per year) or 78.26 years (calculated by Calculated by moving 46 arc seconds per year). In the 20th century, astronomy used modern scientific methods to calculate the correct number to be 71.6 years.If Scheles' deduction is correct, then the value provided by the "Osiris Number" - 72 years - is obviously much more accurate than Hibacus's number.Due to the limitations of the narrative structure, the numbers that appear in myths are usually integers. Therefore, even if the author of the ancient myths had a more precise number, he had to abandon it and use the integer 72 instead—you can’t say in the story that the murder of Osi There are a total of 71.6 good people in Reese.

From this whole number, the myth of Osiris was able to deduce that it would take 2,160 years for the Sun to traverse one zodiac sign on an equinox.The correct number calculated by modern astronomers is 2148.The figures for Hibacus are 2400 and 2347.8 years respectively.In addition, according to the number of Osiris, we can calculate that it takes 25,920 years for the sun to pass through all 12 constellations of the zodiac at the vernal equinox to complete a precession cycle.Hibacus' figure is 2880O or 28173.6 years.Based on today's estimates, the correct number is 25,776 years.Therefore, the "Great Turn" time calculated by Hibacus has an error of about 3000 years.The calculation of the Osiris myth is only off by 144 years.If it weren't for the limitations of the narrative structure, the author of the myth was forced to abandon 71.6 and use 72 as the base instead, I am afraid that even this error would not have occurred.

We make the above inferences on the assumption that Shelles is correct: the four key numbers 360, 72, 30, and 12 appear in the myth of Osiris not by accidental coincidence, but by a group of people who understand—and accurately measure Over - astronomical precession people deliberately arranged. Did Shelles get it wrong? age of decline The myth that hides the precession algorithm in the story is not just the Egyptian myth of Osiris.Relevant numbers, in various forms, multiples and combinations, continue to appear in the legends of various regions of the ancient world. In Chapter 23 of this book, we have already seen an example: Norse mythology records that 432,000 warriors set off from the Hall of Valor to fight the "big wolf" on the front line.Looking back at this myth now, we will find that this number hides several permutations and combinations of "precession numbers".

Similarly, in Chapter 24 we find that the ancient book that preserves the legend of the Great Flood in ancient China is said to have 4,320 volumes. Thousands of miles away in Babylon, according to the records of the historian Berossus in the 3rd century BC, before the Great Flood, a group of mythical kings ruled the ancient Sumerian kingdom successively for 432,000 years.Is this a coincidence?Belosus also pointed out that "from the beginning of the world to the disappearance of the world", human beings have experienced a total of 2.16 million years⑨ Is this also a coincidence? Did ancient American Indian peoples, such as the Mayans, also include numbers like 72, 2160, 4320 in their mythology?We have no way of knowing, because most of the traditional cultural relics in Mesoamerica have been destroyed by Spanish conquistadors and Catholic missionaries.However, we can be sure that the relevant numbers appear in large numbers in the Maya's "long calculation" calendar.The details of this set of calendars have already been discussed in Chapter 21.The numbers needed to calculate the precession are stored in the following formula: 1 Katun = 7200 days 1 shield (Tun) = 360 days 2 shields = 720 days 5 Baktun = 720,000 days 5 card shields = 36000 days 6 card shields = 43200 days 6 shields = 2160 days 15 card shields = 2.16 million days⑩ The "code" discovered by Schellers does not exist only in mythology.The ruins of the temples of Angkor Wat, which stand in the Cambodian jungle, were apparently carefully designed to reflect the precession of astronomy.For example, there are a total of gates in the entire site, and there is a road in front of each gate, which spans the crocodile-infested moat.A row of huge stone statues stands on both sides of the road (108 statues per road, 54 statues on each side, 540 statues in total for five roads), and each row of statues holds a big snake in their hands.Santillana and Dai Chengde pointed out in the book "Hamlet's Stone Mill" that the statue does not "hold" the serpent, but "pulls" it, showing that these 540 statues are "stirring the galaxy".The entire temple complex of Angkor Wat is "a huge model built with typical Hindu fantasies" to express the concept of precession in astronomy⑾. The Javanese Borobudur Temple (Borobudur), which consists of 72 bell-shaped pagodas, also seems to reflect the phenomenon of precession in its overall configuration.The same is true of the megalithic monument in the ancient city of Baalbeck in Lebanon - said to be the largest hand-cut stone block in the world.The history of these steles is much older than the Greek and Roman buildings in the ancient city.Three of the stone tablets form the so-called "Trilithion", which is about as high as a five-story building, and each piece weighs more than 600 tons.The fourth stele is 80 feet long and weighs 1,100 tons.Incredibly, these hand-cut, perfectly shaped boulders were transported to the city of Balbeck from quarries miles away.The craftsmen at that time embedded these huge stones into the wall of a large temple with skillful skills, quite high from the ground.The entire temple is surrounded by 54 tall columns. In the Indian subcontinent, Orion is known as Kal-Purush, which means "one person of time"⑿.There we find that the manner in which the number of Osiris of Schellers is transmitted through various media is less and less like a random coincidence.For example, the Indian cremation platform is made of 1080O bricks.The oldest of the Vedic classics and the richest collection of Indian mythology, the "Veda" (Rigveda), a total of 10,800 sections.Each stanza consists of 40 syllables, so the whole work totals 432,000 syllables, no more, no less⒀.It is worth mentioning that there is a line in verse 164 of Psalm Veda: "The 720 sons of Vulcan were placed in 12 wheels."⒁ There are 72 angels in the Jewish Kabbalah; it is said that those who know their names and numbers can contact or summon the gods through them.The American secret religious group "Rose Crucian Order" (R0sicrucian Order) believes in the so-called "108-year cycle" (72+36), and uses this to exert their influence. The number 72 and its various permutations and combinations are of great significance to the ancient Chinese secret society "Triads".It is said that according to ancient rituals, those who join the club must pay a fee, including "360 yuan for clothes, 108 yuan for purses, 72 yuan for respecting teachers, and 36 yuan for the execution of traitors"⒂.The "cash" here refers to the square-hole copper coins that were used in China in ancient times. Of course, they are no longer in circulation, but the "numbers" handed down through secret gang ceremonies are still preserved today.In modern Singapore, people who join triads pay a personal membership fee according to their financial ability, but the money must be in multiples of $1.80, $3.60, $7.20, and $10.80, that is, $18, $36, and $72 , $108, $360, $720, $1080, etc. ⒃. Among the secret gangs in the world, the most mysterious and oldest is the "Hung League" in China - Western scholars call it "the treasury of ancient Chinese religions"⒄.The Hongmen Enrollment Ceremony includes a question and answer: Ask: What did you see on the road? Answer: Two pots and a red bamboo pole. Q: How many kinds of flowers and plants are there in the pot? Answer: There are 36 types in one pot and 72 types in the other pot, so the total is 108. Q: Did you bring some back home? Answer: Yes, I will bring 108 kinds of flowers and plants home. Q: How do you prove it? A: I can chant a poem. Q: What is the poem about? Answer: Yangcheng red bamboo is strange and strange, The number is three six and seven two. Who can solve the riddle? Entrance comes from knowing. The secretive atmosphere presented in this dialogue is exactly the consistent style of the Hongmen Gang in ancient China.In many respects, the organization resembles the Order of the Knights Templar in medieval Europe and the Freemasonry in modern America. "American Health Society"), but this is beyond the scope of this book.We just want to remind readers that the Chinese character "洪" is composed of "shui" and "gong", which means a flood of floods - flood. Finally, let's go back to India and look at the sacred book called "Puranas" (Pu ranas).It mentions four "Yugas" (meaning "periods on earth"); these four periods are said to cover a total of 12000 "day years".Calculated in "day years", the lengths of the four periods are: 4800 days in the Krita Yuga; 3600 days in the Treta Yuga; 2400 days in the DavPara Yuga ; Kali Yuga 1200 days. This scripture tells us: "One year of a mortal is equal to one day of a god." ⒆ We found that, just like the myth of Osiris in Egypt, this Indian classic deliberately set the number of days in the world and the sky as 360 days, Therefore, one year in heaven is equal to 360 years on earth. Based on this calculation, the length of the Kali period covering 1200 "day years" is equivalent to 432,000 "person years".A major period (Mahayuga) contains four sub-epochs, covering 12,000 "day years", which is equivalent to 4.32 million "person years". 1,000 epochs constitute a Brahma day (KalPa), which is as long as 4.32 billion "human years"-this number provides us with the number necessary to calculate the astronomical precession.This Indian scripture also tells us that "a Manvantara period (Manvantara) contains about 71 systems in four epochs" ⒇.Readers will recall that it takes 71.6 years for the sun to complete a 1-degree precession along the ecliptic during the vernal equinox.This number can be reduced to the whole number "about 71" in India, just as it can be reduced to 72 in ancient Egypt. By the way, the Kali period, which covers 432,000 "human years", is exactly the period to which human beings belong today.The Indian scriptures remind us: "During the Kali period, civilization will begin to decline, and human beings will go to destruction step by step."(21) dog, uncle, revenge It is a dog that brings us to the age of decline. We have come to this stage of history via Sirius - the "dog star" in Western minds.It is close to the foot of the magnificent Orion constellation, shining in the sky of Egypt, overlooking the land of Egypt.We know that in ancient Egypt, Orion was the incarnation of Osiris, the god of death and resurrection, and his numbers—perhaps by coincidence—are 12, 30, 72, 360.But these and other key integers involved in astronomical precession appear again and again in myths all over the world (apparently unrelated to each other) and in solid, long-lasting ones.A medium for conveying messages from the ancients, such as calendar systems and architectural works.Is this fact also due to accidental coincidence? Santillana, Dai Chengde, Schellers and a growing number of scholars refuse to admit that this phenomenon is a coincidence; they claim that the repeated emergence of key details shows that there is a hand behind the scenes. If they're wrong, we'll have to find some other reason to explain how these well-defined, interrelated numbers (whose only apparent function is to calculate astronomical precession) could, by mere coincidence, be scattered all over the world. An indelible imprint on human culture? But what if this group of scholars is right?How should we make sense of the whole thing if there is really a hand behind it all? When you sit alone under the lamp, read the myths collected by Santillana and Dai Chengde, and enter that mysterious world, you can almost feel the existence of that hand... Take that dog (or jackal) , or jackals, or foxes).This stealthy canine stealthily stalks from myth to myth, teasing you, bewitching you, and enticing you to follow it onwards. Indeed, we followed this dog from the Nordic legendary Amlodi Mill to the mythical world of Osiris in Egypt.Along the way, following the guidance of the ancient sages (if Scheres, Santillana, and Dechende are right), we first construct a clear image of the celestial spheres in our minds, and then, through the mechanical models provided by mythology, imagine the celestial bodies. The "precession of the equinoxes" has a significant effect on all coordinates of the celestial sphere at regular intervals.Finally, under the guidance of the "dog star" (Sirius), we finally obtained the necessary numbers for calculating the precession. Sirius, perpetually nestled at the foot of the constellation Pig, is not the only canine character in the myth of Osiris.Chapter 11 of this book mentions that the goddess Isis (she is the wife and sister of Osiris) was looking for her husband's body after her husband was murdered by Set (he is the brother of Osiris and Isis) .According to ancient legends, several dogs (or jackals, according to another) accompanied her and helped her during the search.In addition, myths and religious classics in various periods of Egyptian history pointed out that after Osiris died, it was the "jackal god" Anubis (Anubis) who guarded his soul and guided him into the underworld. (In some existing short stories, Anubis's appearance is almost exactly the same as the "God of the Way" Tengu Upaot.) Finally, we must not forget that, according to mythological records, Osiris turned into a wolf and returned to the world from the underworld to help his son Horus (Horns) launch the final decisive battle against Seth. Exploring this kind of mythological material can sometimes make people feel creepy, always feeling that there is an ancient god reaching out a hand, touching us and manipulating us through distant time and space; Big mystery, let's solve it. We wouldn't be too surprised if it was just a pack of dogs that kept popping up in the mythology.After all, this phenomenon may really be just a coincidence.But it's not just dogs that recur in mythology. Two very different myths—the Egyptian Osiris and the Nordic mill of Amlodi—in addition to containing precise data about astronomical precession, have a curious common factor with each other.Both stories involve family relationships.Amlodi/Amreth.The character Hamlet, in legends all over Europe, is a filial son who is determined to avenge his father; he set a trap to lure his enemy into the trap, and finally got revenge for killing his father, and the enemy was his father's brother, his own kin uncle. This is exactly the tragedy of family relationships presented in the myth of Osiris.Osiris and Seth were born of the same mother.Seth murders Osiris.Osiris' son Horos took revenge on his uncle. Another intriguing phenomenon is that in Norse mythology, the character Hamlet always maintains an incestuous relationship with his sister (22).For example, Kullervo, a Hamlet-like character in Finnish mythology, returned to his hometown after being away from home for many years, and met a girl picking strawberries in the woods.The two fell in love with each other, and the young couple became romantically involved in the woods.Afterwards, they found out that they were brothers and sisters.The girl immediately threw herself into the water.Followed by "Black Dog Musty", Kullervo walked into the woods and drew his sword to commit suicide. Although there is no suicide scene in the Egyptian myth of Osiris, there is a plot of incest.Osiris and Isis are brothers and sisters.Their son Horus grew up and killed his uncle to avenge his father. Confronted with these myths, we have to ask: What is going on?Why are there so many obvious connections?In the ancient world, why did there appear "a series of" myths, which apparently told different stories, but all of them were able to present the precession of the equinoxes in astronomy in their own ways?Why, in these myths, are there always dogs running around, and characters who are always incestuous, or commit brother murder, or avenge their father as a son?It would be too arbitrary to regard these similarities as mere coincidence, as nothing more than the same literary technique. Who, if not coincidence, created this intricate and ingenious network of myths?Who exactly devised this great mystery, and what was their motivation? Message from the Ancient Scientist Whoever these people were, one thing we can be sure of: they were very smart—smart enough to detect the very slow, tiny movement of the sun along the ecliptic at an equinox, and to calculate the rate of precession so accurately that even modern astronomers I also have to admire. Therefore, we can infer that this group of people must be highly civilized human beings, even qualified to be called scientists, and they must have lived in extremely ancient times, because we now know for sure that the precession myths on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, It cannot have been created and circulated during the recorded period.Evidence shows that these myths were "old and old" when what we call history began about 5,000 years ago (23). Ancient mythology has a unique force: it has no copyright, and people from generation to generation can use and adapt it at will; it is like a chameleon, dexterous and alert, changing its color with the surrounding environment.In different eras and in different regions, these ancient myths have been told and tampered with constantly, but they have always retained the most fundamental symbolic system and continued to transmit the coded astronomical precession data that was included in the story from the very beginning. But for what purpose? As we will see in the next chapter, the effects of long, slow precession cycles go beyond simply changing the landscape of the sky.This astronomical phenomenon produced by the axial wobble of the earth also has a direct impact on the earth itself.In fact, it is apparently one of the major correlates of the sudden onset and sudden decline of ice ages.
