2006年新年的钟声响起时，吴仁宝的继任者、华西村的新掌门人吴协恩宣布：在“十一五”期间，华西村要实现五个“五”：工业年销售产值达500亿元，让大华西的5万人全部实现“中康”水平，到华西来的旅游人数要达500万人次，新建50万平方米的建筑面积，免费为全国交流培训5万名村干部……我看到坐在台下的吴仁宝听着继任者的这一串豪迈壮言，会心地笑了。
