Chapter 16 6. The fatal "historical issue"

Ding Ling made the first self-criticism at the seventh meeting, which was denounced as "attacking the party"; she made the second self-criticism at the 12th meeting on August 31, and was denounced as "hypocrisy".She was really at a loss and didn't know what to do, so she asked the party group for help. The party group designated Zhou Yang, Liu Baiyu, Lin Mohan, Ruan Zhangjing and others to talk to her twice. In the first conversation with Ding Ling, her so-called "historical issue" was brought up, which was introduced by Zhou Yang. He suggested that Ding Ling talk about history and clarify historical issues. The situation and the mistake that I wrote a note, I confessed everything. After listening, Zhou Yang, Liu Baiyu, and Ruan Zhangjing looked at each other and said with certainty, "Of course this is a surrender." They also asked Ding Ling why she didn't find out in the past.Ding Ling said: "I already talked about it in Yan'an in 1943 when I tried the rectification of cadres, but I didn't make a conclusion. When I left Yan'an, I asked Comrade Bishi, and Comrade Bishi said to me: 'The party believes in you, you Don't worry, just work hard.' I listened to it completely and did as I did. I also wrote a letter to Comrade An Ziwen in 1952, and I also hope to have a conclusion. If necessary, I can put this history in the Let's talk about it at the enlarged meeting of the party group." Liu Baiyu said, "Don't talk about it at the enlarged meeting."

On January 25, 2001, when Comrade Liu Baiyu was interviewed by the author, he mentioned the situation in 1955: Zhou Yang told me one day that he wanted to talk about Ding Ling's history. You don't understand, history is very important.Zhou Yang summoned Shao Quanlin, Ruan Zhangjing, Lin Mohan and I to find Ding Ling on the 22nd floor of Dongzongbu Hutong and asked her to talk about "historical issues". Throughout her life, Ding Ling was most suspected and most attacked during the three years when she was detained by the Kuomintang in Nanjing from May 1933 to September 1936. At that time, she always refused to work for the enemy, write scripts, edit The newspapers did not express their remorse as a member of the Communist Party, and they did everything possible to find the party organization. Finally, with the help of Cao Jinghua, Lu Xun, Feng Xuefeng and others, they fled Nanjing and went to northern Shaanxi. However, in order to deal with the enemy and gain freedom as soon as possible, Ding Ling once wrote a note, which read, "After going out, I will not be active, and I would like my adoptive mother to study at home" to show her depression. The organization talked about it.Zhou Yang knew very well that this was the most vulnerable link in Ding Ling's body. When criticizing Ding Ling for being "anti-Party", he caught Ding Ling by surprise and stabbed her in the vitals.

Ding Ling said in her later years when recalling Comrade Ren Bishi: In 1940, someone told me that Kang Sheng said at the party school that if Ding Ling came to the party school, I would not want her. There was something wrong with her history in Nanjing. This was said by Kang Sheng in 1938, and I only learned about it in 1940.I wrote a letter to Comrade Chen Yun, head of the organization of the Central Committee, and asked Kang Sheng to produce evidence. How could he just say it casually?I ask the organization to make a conclusion.Because I didn't review it when I came to Yan'an, the organization entrusted Comrade Bishi to do this.Comrade Bishi came to talk to me, and I didn't feel at all that he was censoring me.He asked me tinkly, we talked very carefully like chatting.Later, the Central Organization Department made a conclusion on this period of history.

On October 4, 1940, the Organization Department of the Central Committee stated in the "Conclusions on the Examination of Comrade Ding Ling's Arrest and Prohibition": "After examining the process of Comrade Ding Ling's arrest and ban, the Organization Department of the Central Committee believes that according to the available materials, There is no specific proof that Comrade Ding Ling surrendered herself, so the legend of surrender cannot be trusted, but Comrade Ding Ling did not take advantage of the possibility (although she also had concerns) to leave Nanjing as soon as possible (it should be estimated that living in Nanjing will have a bad influence on the outside world), this kind of disposal is not good Appropriate." "Nevertheless, since there is no basis for the legend of Comrade Ding Ling's surrender, this legend cannot be established. Therefore, it should be considered that Comrade Ding Ling is still a Communist Party member who is loyal to the party and the revolution." At the end of the conclusion, there is a central Signatures of Minister Chen Yun and Vice Minister Li Fuchun of the Organization Department.Chen Yun deliberately told Ding Ling that the last sentence of the conclusion: "It should be considered that Comrade Ding Ling is still a Communist Party member who is loyal to the party and the revolution" was added by Chairman Mao himself.

In August 2003, Chen Ming told the author that at that time, Comrade Chen Yun asked the Organization Department of the Central Committee to copy this conclusion and hand it over to Ding Ling for preservation. Please keep a copy of the conclusion." Chen Ming said, looking at it now, Comrade Chen Yun's approach is really far-sighted, it seems to be to prevent repetitions in future sports activities, and some people will pull their braids. On September 6, the curtain of the enlarged meeting of the Party Group of the Chinese Writers Association fell brilliantly. The meeting was a complete victory and fully achieved the expected goal.Starting from August 6th, Ding Ling was exposed and criticized as "anti-party", and for a whole month, an "anti-party group" was created!

Zhou Yang said in his final speech: "Ding Ling and Chen Qixia are an anti-Party alliance, not for realizing the Party's policy, but for personal ambition and desire for power." The anti-Party alliance "is a combination of anti-Party sentiments." "Ding Ling's anti-party coalition is different from Hu Feng. Ding Ling belongs to the party. Whether there are counter-revolutionaries in it is worth investigating." Probably because Li Xin had been writing briefings for the conference. After the conference, Liu Baiyu came to him and asked him to draft a report to the Central Committee on behalf of the Party Group of the Chinese Writers Association.Li Xin thought: The facts exposed at the meeting have nothing to do with "anti-Party". How can it be called "anti-Party"?He couldn't figure it out, so he declined and said: "So many things were said at the meeting. I don't know which ones are true and which ones are not. How should I write?" Liu Baiyu said: "We don't know which ones are true and which ones are not. Let’s report to the central government after checking everything mentioned above. You still write first, and we are responsible for checking and verifying the things you mentioned.

This is a very important detail, which played a key role in the entire Ding and Chen incident: the report written by the Party Group of the Chinese Writers Association to the Central Committee on September 30 listed more than two dozen "criminal evidence", and these "criminal evidence" were overwhelmingly Some have not been checked and verified.Based on these so-called "evidences" that have not been verified and verified, they settled the case against the "anti-Party clique" and reported it to the central government! Therefore, in June 1957, after the rectification movement began, at the enlarged party group meeting held by the Chinese Writers Association, some people criticized this report as "deceiving the central government"!

It cannot be denied that the "crimes" that are "revealed" under strong political pressure must be based on hearsay, embellishment, or even out of nothing. Either because of character, or because of consciousness (believing in the party and trusting the leadership), or because of timidity, etc., not to mention that some "revealing" was "mobilized" or "guided".The main leaders of the party group of the Chinese Writers Association are all old comrades who have participated in the revolution for 20 or 30 years. They have also participated in and led many political movements. They should be clear about how to characterize and close cases. A comrade's future can even lead to death. Not only have they heard and seen such lessons and examples, but some have also experienced them personally, and they have suffered deeply from them and pained their skin. But why is it that when he is under his own hands, he can be so cruel to his old colleagues, old friends, old superiors, and old subordinates for many years, and if he can do it, he will definitely kill him?In reason and emotion, it is really hard to understand.
