This manuscript was written 10 years ago to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Chinese People's Volunteers going abroad to fight.The manuscript is written based on declassified authoritative historical archives and related historical works.The outstanding feature of the content of the manuscript is that it comprehensively and systematically records the high-level decision-making and guidance activities of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Central Military Commission, especially Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, and Peng Dehuai on the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea. War) and some decision-making and guidance activities also appropriately reflect the decision-making and evolution process of the highest military and political authority of the United States on the Korean War.

The manuscript was written under the urging of my beloved wife Zhang Suxiang, a senior accountant of the Barracks Department of the Academy of Military Sciences, and my illiterate mother Li Guiyun.During the completion of the manuscript, Major General Lin Dengquan, Director of the Military History Research Department of the Academy of Military Sciences, Major General Zeng Qingyang, and Major General Zhi Shaozeng gave great support; researcher Qu Aiguo reviewed all the manuscripts and provided valuable review opinions; During the publication process, Zhao Yiping, editor-in-chief of "Military History", Mao Weiping, a professor at the Party School of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Bao Guojun, director of the Propaganda Department of the Academy of Military Sciences, and Chen Chuangang, an assistant researcher at the Military History Research Department of the Academy of Military Sciences, provided support and assistance.

The first edition of this book was published by the Party School Press of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. At that time, Director Su Hua of the Operations Department of the Editor-in-Chief Office of the Press and Li Defu, the editor of the Press, gave great support to the publication of the book. 2010 is the 60th anniversary of the Chinese People's Volunteers going abroad to fight.
