The next morning, Seldon woke up slowly and saw Dors immediately. She was sitting by his bed, reading a film book and taking notes. Seldon said in an almost normal voice, "Still here, Dors?" She put the film book down: "I can't let you here alone, can I? And I can't trust other people." "It seems that every time I wake up, I see you. Have you been here?" (Part 1) -209.JPG.TXT "Whether you sleep or wake up, I never leave." "But what about your class?" "I have a teaching assistant who can temporarily take over the get out of class for me."

Dors bent down and took one of Seldon's hands. But she noticed his embarrassment right away (he was lying on the bed, after all) and pulled her hand back. "Harry, what happened? It freaked me out." Seldon said, "I have a confession to make." "What's the matter, Harry?" "I thought you might be involved in a conspiracy..." "A conspiracy?" she said excitedly. "I mean, lead me to the dome, so that I will leave the jurisdiction of the university, and the imperial military police can arrest me." "However, the dome is not separated from the jurisdiction of the university. The jurisdiction of the districts of Trantor extends from the star core to the sky."

"Ah. I don't know. But you didn't come with me, because you said you had a busy schedule, and when I got paranoid, I thought you were going to abandon me on purpose. Please forgive me. Obviously, you took the I saved it from there, who cares besides you?" "They're busy people," Dors said cautiously. "They thought you'd be down long ago. I mean, that's a reasonable assumption." "Crowzia thinks so too?" "The young trainee? Yes, she too." "Well, it could still be a conspiracy, I mean without you." "No, Harry, it's really my fault. I have absolutely no right to let you go up to the dome alone. It's my job to protect you. I can't help but blame myself for letting this happen, for letting you get lost."

"Hey, wait a minute." Seldon suddenly became angry, "I'm not lost, what do you take me for?" "I should like to know what you called it. You were nowhere to be found when they went away, and you didn't come back to the entrance—or should I say near the entrance—until long after dark." "But that's not the case. I didn't get lost because I was running around and couldn't find my way back. I told you I suspected a conspiracy, and had reason to suspect it, and I wasn't completely delusional." "Okay, so, what happened?"

So Seldon told her exactly. He had no trouble remembering all the details of what had happened. For almost a whole day in the past, he kept reliving those experiences in his dream. Dors frowned as she listened. "But it's impossible. A jet helicopter, are you sure?" "Of course. Do you think that's my hallucination?" "But there is no way the Imperial military police will hunt you down. If they arrest you on the dome, the reaction will be as serious as sending the police to arrest you on the campus." "Then how do you explain it?" "I'm not sure," Dors said, "but the consequences of my failure to go up to the dome with you may be worse than it actually is, and Hummin will be very angry with me."

"Then let's not tell him," said Seldon. "It's a happy ending." "We've got to tell him," said Dors sullenly. "It may not be over yet."
