As stated in "2010: A Space Odyssey", it is not a direct sequel to "2001: A Space Odyssey", so "2061: A Space Odyssey" is not exactly a direct sequel to "2010: A Space Odyssey".The three of them can be said to be several different singles under one suite, but they are interspersed with the same characters and time and space background. As early as 1984, Stan Kubeck suggested to me to make "the best science fiction film that everyone knows", so that things that cannot happen now are presented logically in science fiction.The flyby of Jupiter with the much-hoped-for Voyager spacecraft was written about in a book back in 1979, but I hadn't heard anything about the challenging Galileo flight at the time task, so the sci-fi theme was not continued in this direction.

The Galileo space mission is to insert a probe into Jupiter's atmosphere and visit all of Jupiter's moons in two years. Arrived near Jupiter in December 1998 for a mission.I estimate that around 1990 there will be a large amount of data on the surface of Jupiter and its satellites available... But the space tragedy of the "Challenger" put an end to this project, and the Galileo spacecraft still lies on the polished floor of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Now another vehicle must be found to lift it into space.If all goes well, Galileo may return to Jupiter in seven years' time.
