Chapter 17 Information No. 9

Humanoid 王晋康 246Words 2018-03-14
In June 1999, American scientists developed the first biological computer. They cultured leech neurons in a petri dish, and then inserted tiny electrodes into each neuron to form a circuit. Each neuron responds to current stimulation in its own way, giving corresponding nerve impulses, so that each neuron represents a number, and can be connected to perform a summation operation. Their goal was to invent a new generation of fast and flexible computers.Professor Bill Ditto of the Georgia Institute of Technology, who led the research, said: "Today's computers are actually very stupid. In order to get correct results, they need absolutely correct and perfect information. Biological computers will only rely on partial information to do this. One thing, in other words, they can do fuzzy thinking like the human brain."
