Chapter 14 Chapter Fourteen: The Wrath of the Ming Dynasty

From the record point of view, Konishi is a very good commander. As a vanguard, he defeated the North Korean army and consolidated the results. , Most of North Korea has been firmly controlled by the Japanese army. Soon, rebellions everywhere will be quelled and we will move on to our next goal. Japan is preparing, Korea is falling, and Ming is arguing. Since the Japanese army invaded in June, the court of the Ming Dynasty has not stopped for a moment. There is a lot of quarrels every day, from morning to night, without even an intermission. Excited, he even took the initiative to petition, saying that he would lead troops to deal with the Japanese without using others.

But as soon as he brought it up, he was scolded back, especially Xu Honggang, who was given by the military department, said something extremely ugly. He thought that it was enough to block the enemy at the door, and there was no need to go out to block it (the imperial Japanese should be in the door). He also criticized the North Korean comrades, saying that they asked for help when they were beaten, and rewarded them for capturing a few prisoners. Most people in the court agreed with him. Just at this time, the king of North Korea proposed to cross the river to take refuge, so he should come here, but the governor of Liaodong made another memorial, saying that my place is limited and resources are limited, and I can only accept some people, and the rest must not cross the river. Unable to receive.

At the end, the number of refugees that can be accepted is attached-"the number should not exceed a hundred people". Now the king of North Korea will not do it anymore. I am a king after all, and I only want to bring a hundred people here. There are not enough to buy vegetables and cook! Regardless of the refugee issue, whether to send troops or not, after several discussions, the ministers of the DPRK and China almost reached a consensus - not to go. At this point, seeing that North Korea was about to perish, a person spoke: "Should send troops to rescue as soon as possible (quick rescue)!"

Hearing this sentence, everyone was silent. After discussion, the Ming Dynasty decided on the final policy - to send troops. Because the person who said this was Wanli. Many people know that Emperor Wanli is lazy, that he has not been in court for a long time, and that he broke the record for the longest time of passive sabotage (the previous record was held by Comrade Jiajing), but there is one thing that many people do not know: Although he doesn't go to court, he doesn't care about things. Because a person who doesn't know how to manage affairs and how to control his officials is absolutely impossible to be emperor for forty-eight years, even for forty-eight days.

Facts have proved that from the beginning to the end, he has been silently watching every move of the empire. And now, it's time to speak. It should be said that Emperor Wanli made a correct judgment this time: Japan's ambitions are by no means limited to North Korea. Once the annexation succeeds, it will increase its strength and recharge its energy, and it will definitely intensify, and it will be even more difficult to deal with. Fighting is better than not playing, playing early is better than playing late, and playing abroad is better than playing domestically. The so-called "no future troubles in Xinjiang" is really the insight of Comrade Wanli.

In July of the 20th year of Wanli (1592), the Ming Dynasty sent its first army to North Korea. The person who was ordered to attack was Zu Chengxun, the deputy general of Liaodong. Zu Chengxun, a native of Ningyuan, Liaodong, was originally Li Chengliang's servant, and he accompanied Li Chengliang to fight everywhere. He has rich military experience, is brave and good at fighting, and is a seemingly suitable candidate for the expedition. It looks very suitable, but in fact it is not suitable. This is not a problem with him, but because there are 150,000 Japanese troops on the other side of the Yalu River, and General Zu only took 3,000 of them.

What's even more funny is that he didn't know this. When the troops first arrived in North Korea, Liu Chenglong, an important minister of North Korea, came out to greet them. By the way, he counted the troops. He felt that something was wrong, and he couldn't explain it clearly, so he said to Zu Chengxun: "The Japanese soldiers are very powerful in combat, I hope the general will be cautious in dealing with the enemy." Zu Chengxun's answer is simple and clear: "Back then, I used 3,000 cavalry to defeat 100,000 Mongolian troops. How scary are the little Japanese soldiers!"

First of all, we have reason to believe that Mr. Zu Chengxun is bragging, because although Li Chengliang is very fierce, it seems that he has not done such a feat, let alone Zu Chengxun who was the underdog. Secondly, Zu Chengxun is really overconfident. Not to mention the 150,000 fully armed Japanese soldiers, even if there are 150,000 idiots, it will take ten days and a half months to stand still and let him chop. . But it seems too early to say defeat at this point. What Zu Chengxun led was the Ming army that had been fighting on the border for a long time, and its combat effectiveness was strong. Even if it fought the Japanese, it was still a match.

However, things seemed to be progressing more smoothly than expected. On the way, Zu Chengxun didn't meet a few enemies at all. He was more confident and rushed to the goal day and night. The city of Pyongyang is in sight. It seemed that the Japanese army was really frightened. Not only were there no guards on the city walls, but even the city gates were open. On the day Zu Chengxun led the army into North Korea, President Xiaonishi got the news. He was fully prepared for this uninvited guest. But he objected. Because he knew there was a better way. It is necessary to obtain the greatest victory at the least cost, even in the case of an advantage, it is no exception. Facts have proved that Toyotomi Hideyoshi did not misunderstand the person.

When Zu Chengxun's whole army entered the city, with the sound of a cannon, the originally quiet street suddenly became noisy. The Japanese army appeared from hiding places, occupied favorable terrain, and shot the Ming army with muskets. After several rounds of volleys, the Ming army suffered heavy losses, and Zu Chengxun was also beaten. He thought that the Japanese army were uncivilized and rough people. Who knew that they not only knew the art of war, but also laid ambushes. In a panic, he led the remnant soldiers to escape, but the losses were already extremely heavy, more than 2,000 people were killed and injured, almost the entire army was wiped out, and the deputy general Shi Ru died in battle.

Thus ended the first attack of the Ming army. When the news reached the King of Korea, Li Yan was basically sure that he was not far from jumping into the river. And Toyotomi Hideyoshi was even more ecstatic. He finally determined that the strength of the Ming army was as weak as he knew it to be. After Wanli heard the news, he was not excited. He just remained silent for a moment, then called Song Yingchang, the servant of the Ministry of War, and told him that it was time to officially start the war. Well, that being the case, let's get down to business, and soon, you will pay dearly for this. Song Yingchang, courtesy name Siwen, was a Jinshi in the forty-fourth year of Jiajing (1565), and served as the right servant of the Ministry of War at that time. Compared with Minister Shi Xing, Deputy Minister Song Yingchang is not impressive, because Minister Shi is not only tall (eight feet long) and good-looking (extraordinary appearance), but also often expresses emotion and feelings. And Song Yingchang is not running around every day, just studying maps and military books, and he can't speak a few words a day. It is difficult for such a person to attract attention. However, Wanli rejected Shi Xing's invitation to fight twice in succession, and handed over the task of entering the DPRK to Song Yingchang, because he is a sensible person, whether he can brag and whether he can fight are two different things. The development of things since then has proved that this is an extremely wise choice. Although Song Yingchang was taciturn, he was well versed in military strategies and the art of war. Although he never took the initiative to ask for a battle, he was a staunch main fighter, and he never procrastinated in his work. Dispatch troops and generals. However, not long after, something unexpected happened to Wanli. Song Yingchang, who has always been extremely efficient in handling affairs, even took the initiative to say that although the situation in North Korea is extremely dangerous, he cannot send troops for the time being. Wanli asked: Why? Song Yingchang replied: "Among the generals I have summoned, there is one who is still preparing. I will wait for him. If he does not arrive, we must not go to war." Wanli also admired the person Song Yingchang mentioned, so he agreed and asked the second question: How long will it take? Song Yingchang replied: at least two months. The matter was decided in this way, and the Ming army was sent to fight in the DPRK. The date was initially set as two months later, that is, the end of the 20th year of Wanli. The problem is that the Ming Dynasty can wait, and the Koreans can tell their brothers to hold on, but what about the Japanese? You can't tell him, I'm going to beat you, but I'm not ready yet, please wait for me for two months, don't beat me, I'll deal with you when everything is ready. In this regard, Song Yingchang was also helpless, he could only fight, but not diplomacy, so after playing football several times, this glorious and arduous task was handed over to Shi Xing, Minister of the Ministry of War. However, Shi Xing can't help it. He is the Minister of Defense, and he is not even good at his old job. He is even blind in diplomacy, but he is the leader, and he will be blamed at critical moments. But I have to do it. After scratching his head and thinking hard for a few days, Mr. Shi finally came up with an idea—recruitment.Of course, it's not the way of posting notices, but sending people to search around privately. In Shi Xing's view, my Ming Dynasty has a lot of talents, so finding someone to waste time negotiating should be reliable. From a political point of view, this is a bad idea. It is not serious to go outside to find someone temporarily for such a major national event. But the facts have proved that bad ideas may not necessarily be bad when they are implemented.Because soon, Shi Xing found a suitable candidate, and this person's name was Shen Weijing. Shen Weijing, a native of Jiaxing, has different opinions on the origin of this person in historical materials, but there is one thing that is quite consistent-the city is also a rascal. The so-called rascals in the city, in today's words, are the gangsters in the market. For this evaluation, I have always had different opinions, because in my opinion, Mr. Shen Weijing is not a gangster, but a big gangster. And later things will tell us that there is a difference between a gangster and a big gangster, at least two. The gangster Shen Weijing set off soon after being hired. His first destination was Uiju, and his mission was to appease the King of Korea. Here, he met the North Korean officials who had taken refuge. According to the later memoirs of North Korean officials, as soon as this Mr. Shen Weijing showed up, they were taken aback—why did the Celestial Dynasty send such a person? Because according to historical records, Shen Weijing looks very ugly (ugly), and the diplomats represent the national system, generally speaking, they are decent-looking, so crooked and inferior, what kind of dignity is it. But then, something that surprised them even more happened. Although this man was ugly and saw this big scene for the first time, he was not stage fright at all. Facing North Korean officials, he was eloquent and eloquent. As long as he opened his mouth, No one could chime in. So everyone had a bottom line in their hearts and introduced him to King Li Yan of North Korea. Li Yan was so poor and helpless, he walked around in the courtyard every day, and when he heard that the envoy from the Celestial Dynasty was coming, he was very happy, and even came out to greet him personally, and received Shen Weijing cordially. Next, he will experience the extraordinaryness of Shen Dagang. Generally speaking, gangsters and big gangsters have a unique skill - flickering, but the difference is that the grade and content of their flickering are very different. Generally speaking, gangsters just cheat an aunt and aunt, and fool two grocery money; big gangsters Those who are fooled are often princes, nobles, and high-ranking cadres, and those who are fooled are also important military affairs. And Shen Weijing fit this requirement very well, he only used a few words to restore confidence to Li Yan, who was about to seek death, and his face was radiant. He mainly talked about the following things: first, he came on behalf of the Ming emperor (basically correct), and second, he is very good at using troops and has a deep understanding of the art of war (basically nonsense), I hope the king of Korea will not worry, Daming Reinforcements will soon arrive (as they did), seven hundred thousand (…). At the end of the conversation, he also said in an extremely mysterious way that there is great hope for peace, because he has a very good relationship with Heping Hideyoshi (that is, Toyotomi Hideyoshi), and he is an iron buddy (I really have nothing to say), and the two sides open up to talk , there is nothing that cannot be solved. Whenever I feel that life is too realistic, I often turn to this historical material and thank Mr. Shen Weijing for using his practical actions to let me truly appreciate the highest state of flickering and dreams. Comprehensive analysis of Brother Shen's background: native of Jiaxing, can speak Japanese, and has done import and export trade (smuggling).Having been a gangster, we can roughly infer that he may have had contacts with Japanese pirates, has traveled abroad, and probably has been to Japan, and may have a few Japanese friends. Of course, it would be nonsense to say that he knew Toyotomi Hideyoshi. No matter what, he was considered a hero of the generation, a Japanese boss, and it was not so easy to be fooled. But Li Yan believed it, not only believed it, but was also ecstatic, and regarded Shen Weijing as his savior, thanked him a thousand times, and gave many gifts to commemorate him before he left. Having said that, North Korea also has shrewd people, and Minister Liu Chenglong is one. This man has engaged in political struggles for decades, and he is also an old fox. He thinks that Shen Weijing is unreliable. But this brother is still a diplomatic envoy of the Ming Dynasty, and he can't accept it. Thinking of the future of his country, he actually has to rely on this bastard to fool him. Many sensible people, including Liu Chenglong, are full of pessimism about the future. More than ten days later, Shen Weijing came again, and this time his task was even more difficult - negotiating with the Japanese to stop their attack. Li Yan has never mixed in the society, so he is naturally easy to fool, but the Japanese are different. Those who can go to North Korea are all fighting in the country, and they have heavy soldiers in their hands. None of them are fuel-efficient, so In the eyes of Liu Chenglong and others, this is simply an impossible task. But it turns out that this is an unlikely world, as the popular saying goes: anything is possible. In September of the 20th year of Wanli (1592), Shen Weijing arrived in Yizhou again, ready to complete this task. As the liaison envoy appointed by the king, Liu Chenglong wanted to know with great interest, why is this gangster planning to block the Japanese and fool him? Things seemed to be as expected by Liu Chenglong. As soon as Shen Weijing arrived, he proposed to establish contact with the Japanese army first, and he had already written a letter, which he was going to hand over to Konishi, who occupied Pyongyang, to ask him to stop the attack and start the war. peace talks. This seems to be an extremely absurd idea, not to mention whether people are willing to negotiate peace, just how do you establish contact, and who will send this letter?go by yourself? Shen Weijing said: Of course, I am not going. He sent a servant to carry the letter he wrote on his back, and galloped into Pyongyang City. Everyone thought that this was destined to be a meat bun beating a dog, and he never returned, except Shen Weijing. One day later, the result was announced, and Shen Wei Jing won. The servant not only returned safely, but also brought a message from President Xiaoxi, expressing his willingness to negotiate peace. However, the problem was not resolved, because the president Xiaoxi said at the same time that although he was willing to negotiate, he was unwilling to go out. If he wanted peace, he asked North Korea and Daming to send people to the door for an interview. It's right to think about it, now the initiative is in the hands of others, if you are told to go, you have to go. Liu Chenglong is happy this time, Shen Weijing, just blow it up, what will you do this time?Who to send? However, he was surprised again, because Shen Weijing immediately said: No one will send, I will go by myself. Many people, including Liu Chenglong, were stunned. Although they didn't like this big fool, their courage is still worthy of admiration. So everyone came in one after another, saying that this is too dangerous, you'd better not go, even if you go, you have to bring a few more people to take care of you. Shen Weijing laughed, saying that I just need to take a follower, why do I need so many people? Think about it, everyone, it's true, it's useless to lead troops, the army can beat people, we don't need to hide here, but for convenience, you should take a few more people on the road. Of course, the so-called convenience really means that if something happens, there are a few more people to collect the body. So, under the gaze of everyone, Shen Weijing walked towards Pyongyang City with three followers.Everyone once again reached a consensus on two points: first, this man is very brave; second, he will not come back. But Shen Weijing didn't think so. As a gangster, he didn't have much patriotism. In the same way, he doesn't do business that loses money. The reason why he is so confident is because he has another characteristic of a gangster in him - being adaptable and flexible. And on this point, there is another vivid example. The famous warlord Zhang Zongchang who once occupied Shandong for many years has the same characteristics. This man is commonly known as "Three Ignorances" (I don't know how many soldiers I have, I don't know how much money I have, I don't know how many wives I have), he started his career as a gangster, and later he got involved with the bandit Zhang Zuolin and became a big gangster. Once, Zhang Zuolin sent Guo Songling, the number one underling, to Zhang Zongchang to rectify the army. This Guo brother was not only Zhang Dashuai's confidant, but also went to foreign countries to drink foreign ink, eat butter and bread, and always looked down on Zhang Zongchang. I always wanted to find a chance to deal with him, but when I arrived at the place, I didn't know that Gangster Zhang was wrong, and it was not good to deal with him, so he offended Guo Songling. Now you don't need to be polite, although Big Brother Guo is an overseas student, he has not lost his ability to swear, pointing his finger at the gangster Zhang, he opened his mouth and said: X your mother! In the impression of many people, warlords should have a bad temper and kill people without blinking an eye. When faced with such insults, they should rise up and look around with their swords drawn. However, at the critical moment, Zhang Zongchang showed the qualities that a big gangster should have, and he immediately replied: You x my mother, you are my father! After speaking, he knelt down to Guo Songling. I remember that he was at least one round older than Brother Guo. This is the skill of the big bastard. He later killed people like hemp in Shandong and did a lot of evil. That was Shen, while kneeling Guo Songling and admitting his godfather was Qu. Shen Weijing is a big bastard. In front of the officials of the Ministry of War and the King of Korea, he gave in, but now is the time for him to stand up. The reason why President Xiaoxi agreed to the peace talks was naturally not for the sake of peace, he just wanted to take this opportunity to find out, and by the way, scare the envoys of the Ming Dynasty, show his prestige, and overwhelm his opponents with momentum. So he deliberately sent a large number of troops to line up ten miles outside Pyongyang, and arranged many heavily armed soldiers, holding bright knives and muskets, and decided to give Shen Weijing a blow. Liu Chenglong is also considered a kind person. After sending Shen Weijing away, he felt that it was not proper to just leave it like this, but he would not do it if he was asked to accompany him. So he took people up to a mountain near Pyongyang City, and looked at the Japanese army outside Pyongyang City from here. In addition to calming down the guilt in his heart, he could take one last look at Shen Weijing (although it was relatively far away). However, what he saw there was not Shen Weijing's head, but a scene he would never forget. When Shen Weijing rode a horse and just stepped into the Japanese army camp, the Japanese army column suddenly changed and rushed up, surrounding Shen Weijing tightly, with three floors inside and three floors outside. However, Shen Weijing didn't panic in the slightest, dismounted calmly, and walked into the camp of Xingchang Xiaoxi from the sword. After a long time (sunset), Shen Weijing finally walked out of the tent again, unscathed. And Liu Chenglong was also surprised to find that those domineering Japanese generals, including Governor Konishi, Kato Kiyomasa and others, came out of the camp one after another to see Shen Weijing off, and they were very polite (very respectful). A few years later, Liu Chenglong recorded the miracle he saw in detail in his memoirs, although he did not know what Shen Weijing said on that day—maybe no one will ever know. But one thing is certain, that is, Shen Weijing did a very good thing, because only one day later, the supreme commander of the Japanese army, Konishi Xingchang, sent someone to express condolences to Shen Weijing. In addition to condolences, the visitor also brought the admiration of President Xiaonishi: "Your Excellency's color does not change in the white blade. Such a boldness has never been seen in Japan." The Japanese came to flatter, but Shen Weijing just smiled slightly, and said something extremely awesome: "Haven't you heard of Guo Linggong in the Tang Dynasty? Back then when tens of thousands of Huihe troops invaded, he broke into the enemy's battle line alone without any fear. How could I be afraid of you people (Wu He Weier)!" Guo Linggong is Guo Ziyi, who once beat Anlu Mountain to the ground and fled. In comparison, Shen Weijing is really a small person, but in my opinion, he is comparable to Guo Ziyi at this time, and he is not inferior. Because although he is a gangster, he is also fearless. The flattery was slapped on the horse's leg, looking at the righteous man in front of him, the Japanese envoy was at a loss and didn't know what to say, but he heard Shen Weijing's reply: "There is no need to say any more, I will report the situation here to the Holy Emperor (that is, Wanli), and naturally there will be disposal, but before that, you must restrain your subordinates." How to restrict it? "The Japanese army will not be able to loot within ten miles of Pyongyang, and correspondingly, all North Korean troops will not enter within ten miles of Pyongyang!" Many people, including Liu Chenglong, thought Shen Weijing was crazy. At that time, the Japanese army, not to mention ten miles outside Pyongyang, even if they hit Uiju, it was a breeze.Let the Japanese army abide by your regulations. Is your head flooded as President Konishi? Facts have proved that this is indeed possible. Not long after the Japanese envoy returned, the Japanese army sent special personnel to set up landmarks in the area designated by Shen Weijing to determine the demarcation line. Liu Chenglong couldn't even close his mouth, he couldn't figure it out, what was going on? Only Shen Weijing knows the answer to all this. He has always been just an adventurer. His calmness, his outspokenness, and his open mouth are all based on one foundation—Da Ming.Without the tiger behind him, his fox would not have the prestige capital at all. As a sober commander, President Xiaoxi is very clear that Ming Dynasty is a sleeping war machine. If under the current situation, if he rashly goes to war with the Ming Dynasty, the consequences will be disastrous, and the existing results must be stabilized. As for Daming... …, that is sooner or later. On November 28th, the 20th year of Wanli (1592), Shen Weijing came to North Korea again. This time, President Xiaoxi finally revealed his terms for peace: "Using the Datong River in North Korea as the boundary, everything west of Pyongyang will be returned to North Korea." In order to show the sincerity of his peace talks, he also added: "The city of Pyongyang was also handed over to North Korea. Our army only occupies the east of the Datong River." Finally, he patted Ming Chao's flattery by the way: "Fortunately, the Celestial Dynasty (Ming Dynasty) has not sent troops yet, peace has been achieved, and we will be going back soon." I ran to other people's homes, robbed people, set fire to them, and robbed things, and then picked out some worthless things from the looted things, returned them to the original owner, and told him: Actually, I don't want much. This is a very shameless person and a very shameless logic. But Shen Weijing didn't seem to have such an awareness. He was an idiot and couldn't make a decision, so he rushed back overnight and informed the Japanese army of the peace conditions. According to this Mr. Shen's thinking, the so-called negotiation is to negotiate and handle things, there is an agreement and a quantity, which is similar to buying vegetables.Although the conditions of the Japanese are a bit too much, but as long as they talk, there is still a possibility of success. But when he saw Song Yingchang, he realized that he was wrong. Because before he opened his mouth, Song Shilang said something like this: "Go and tell those Japanese slaves that if they all withdraw from North Korea and return to Japan, it is possible (maybe) to make peace, but if they occupy North Korean land, even if it is a county or a village, they must never make peace!" It's over, it's neither half a catty nor eight taels. It turns out that people didn't even think about giving money. Although Shen Weijing is courageous and daring to fool around, he is indeed superior, but the facts have proved that compared with real politicians, he is still just a thug. Because he doesn't understand that in this world, some principles cannot be negotiated, such as country, sovereignty, and dignity. Shen Weijing's head got bigger, but what is surprising is that although he already knew the bottom line of the Ming Dynasty, he didn't seem to intend to end it. According to various historical data analysis, this man has regarded peace talks as his own career, Has been working tirelessly for this.In the near future, we will also see his figure. But in Song Yingchang's view, the goal has been achieved, because the person he was waiting for is already ready. People like Song Yingchang are called Li Rusong. Li Rusong is the son of Li Chengliang. In the past, when I introduced historical figures, I generally started with family background, such as grandfather and father, and then talked about the protagonist’s son, but for this Mr. Li, I can only make an exception, because his father is more famous than him. As the number one general in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty (Shoufu Shenshi Xingyu), Li Chengliang is a very famous person—especially the Mongolians, who tremble when they hear this name. Li Chengliang, courtesy name Ruqi and nickname Yincheng, was born in Tielingwei (now Tieling) in Liaodong. This man is a super legendary figure. He was just a junior officer when he was forty years old. In less than ten years, he became the number one person on the frontier. He overwhelmed Qi Jiguang. Earl. Of course, all of this was not given for nothing. You must know that they were shot with real knives and guns, stepping on the corpses of countless people (mainly Mongols). According to statistics, from the first year of Longqing (1567) to the nineteenth year of Wanli (1591), for more than 20 years, Li Chengliang fought every year, killed people every year, and was promoted every year. Head back to repay the credit. The Mongols were killed so frightened that they went out to rob, and as long as they saw Li Chengliang's flag, they basically turned around and ran away. In fact, this dear man not only has many stories, but is also a person who influenced the fate of the Ming Dynasty. About him, I will talk about it later. What I want to talk about here is his son Li Rusong. Li Rusong, courtesy name Zimao, the eldest son of Li Chengliang, was then the general of Xuanfu. Speaking of which, Song Yingchang was the deputy minister of the Ministry of War, the second in command of the Ming army, and the commander-in-chief was his subordinate. But as a senior leader, he had to wait for Li Rusong. The reason why he was so humiliated was not only because this person knew how to fight, but because he had no other choice. Speaking of which, it was really bitter. Two hundred years ago, after Zhu Yuanzhang unified the country by force, he set up a guard system, the so-called standing army, to ensure that soldiers would be available in future wars. For a while), military settlements were implemented, and land was assigned to the army, that is, the plowed land used by soldiers in peacetime was used as farmers, and in wartime, it was used as cannon fodder. Facts have proved that this method is very economical, but as time goes by, the situation changes. After all, there is less time for fighting and more time for plowing the fields. The sky was high and the emperor was far away, so the military officers took the opportunity to annex the land of the army, became military landlords, and their soldiers as tenant farmers, and some even started business. With such a situation, the combat effectiveness is really out of the question. This kind of troops can only be pulled out by filling a ditch and digging a hole. Moreover, the military system of the Ming Dynasty also has problems. The troops are in the hands of the local generals, but the military power is in the hands of the Ministry of War. Only by temporarily arranging troops can the fight begin. When it really starts to fight, it will be lively. Speaking of war, it has been played in many TV dramas like this: Everyone comes from all corners of the country. At the critical moment, the commander shouted: For the country, for the nation, go!Then everyone swarmed up, defeated the enemy, and achieved a brilliant victory. This is all bullshit. Soldiers don't know generals, generals don't know soldiers, usually they don't know anyone, they haven't eaten or drunk, they don't have any emotional basis, at critical moments, who will work for you?Let me charge with just one shout? Why don't you rush? In short, it is possible to work hard, and charging is also feasible, but you have to give a reason first. For a long period of time, the Ming Dynasty could not find this reason, so the combat effectiveness of the Ming army was getting worse day by day, and the battles were getting worse and worse. But as time went by, some excellent generals finally found it. One of the most famous people is Qi Jiguang. And this reason can also be summed up in a classic movie line-follow me, there is meat to eat. Many people don't know that Qi Jiguang's so-called "Qi Family Army" is not actually the army of the Ming Dynasty government, but Qi Jiguang's private armed forces, because he is responsible for everything from recruitment to training, from officers to soldiers. No one can command this army except Qi Jiguang. Moreover, the salary of a soldier in Qi Jiguang's army is high, and he never defaults on arrears, and does not give IOUs, because General Qi has a good relationship with Hu Zongxian (later Zhang Juzheng), and the military expenses are sufficient. In addition, he can also make money, and from time to time he even lets the troops go out to do some business, so the treatment is naturally good. The commander is reliable, and he can still get a high salary. This kind of troops will not leave no matter what they say, and they have nothing to say when they start a war. They rush forward one by one.Later, when Qi Jiguang was transferred to the north, the local soldiers were lazy, so without further ado, Qi Jiguang transferred the Qi family army to conduct drills in front of everyone. On that day, it rained heavily for the whole day. Qi Jiajun stood in the rain for a whole day, completely silent and motionless. In this world, there is no love without reason, and there is no loyalty without reason. But in terms of achievements in this area, Qi Jiguang can only rank second, because there is someone who has done a better job than him-Li Chengliang. Qi Jiguang's Qi family army, with first-class equipment and generous treatment, was the most powerful infantry in the Ming Dynasty, but they were not the only elite. At that time, there was another army that could rival it-the Liaodong Iron Cavalry. As Li Chengliang's elite troops, the Liaodong iron cavalry was the most powerful cavalry at that time. They fought bravely, moved quickly, came and went like the wind, and were good at running. This is the root of Li Chengliang's fame. The reason why they have such a strong combat power is that the soldiers of the Liaodong cavalry not only have a good income and excellent equipment, but also have something that even the Qi family army does not have - land. Unlike Qi Jiguang, Li Chengliang is a man with political ambitions. He was born and raised in Liaodong, he is a local snake, and he does not have the noble morality of "I don't want to be a marquis, but I hope Haibo is peaceful." expanding its strength. In order to make the soldiers more loyal to him, he not only spent a lot of money, but also did a daring thing. In the Ming Dynasty, the garrison had its own special land for military settlements. These lands were all owned by the state, and the income from farming had to be turned over to the state. But with the passage of time, many military lands were occupied by individuals, who not only served as officers to fight wars, but also worked as landlords to collect rent. Of course, this kind of behavior is illegal, and if the court finds out, it will cause trouble. So ordinary people just use the land to grow something, earn some extra money, just like that, and still hide and dare not say anything, but Li Chengliang is very different, extremely vigorous, not only occupies the land generously, but also divides it all up!But all members of the Liaodong Cavalry basically have a share. It's nothing more than being greedy for the country's food. He even dared to distribute the country's land by himself. According to the laws of the Ming Dynasty, this is not too far from rebellion. Losing his head and beheading the whole family are all certain things. But the facts have proved that Li Chengliang is not a plank, but a plank brick. His backstage is extremely hard, his background is great, and he is very good at dealing with affairs. My dear friend, no one can move a finger of him. According to the analysis of Marxist class theory, Li Chengliang's soldiers should all be regarded as landlords, and his troops are landlord groups. With such great benefits, every time his subordinates go into battle, they are particularly able to fight with their lives, especially able to fight, running forward like a madman, with a strong impact. The territory is one's own, and the soldiers are also one's own. They can do whatever they want, and they are lawless. Today we have a popular name for this kind of people-warlords. Of course, the imperial court knew about this, but there was nothing they could do about it. The place was in turmoil, and only Li Chengliang could keep it under control. If he was removed or killed, who would help you? Therefore, since Jiajing, the imperial court has been very polite to such people, especially Liaodong. Although Li Chengliang retired in the 19th year of Wanli (1591), his son is still there. You know, the son of a warlord is still a warlord. As a new generation of warlords and generals, Li Rusong is even more difficult to serve. In the Ming Dynasty, military commanders were a very embarrassing role. At the beginning of the founding of the country, the treatment was very high, and all the six founding dukes were military generals (Li Shanchang was awarded the title because of his military merits). And formed a custom: If you are not a military general, no military merits, no matter how many officials you have, how much contribution you have made, you must never be knighted. Therefore, although Zhang Juzheng was an extremely human minister, he became a grand master, and even the emperor was played by him, but he didn't get any titles. And Wang Shouren was able to join the earl only because he put down King Ning's rebellion and made military achievements. But this is just a special case. In fact, since Xuande, the status of military generals has declined greatly. Military generals have gradually become synonymous with rough people. In addition, the system of the Ming Dynasty was based on civilized military affairs. Senior military officers were often born as scholars in liberal arts, and those who really fought hard with swords were often despised. If you are despised by others for a long time, you will despise yourself. Soldiers who, deception also. surrender? Why did you go early?
