Chapter 11 Chapter 11 Eternal, only this one person

The Duoqing incident in the fifth year of Wanli (1577) ended, and Zhang Juzheng won a complete victory. Facts have proved that with the strength of these young men in front of him, he can't touch Big Brother Zhang at all. Since the group of Yan Song, Xu Jie, and Gao Gong After high-level players retire, the talents in the world are not as good as one generation after another. Zhang Juzheng has a very clear understanding of this, so he became more and more confident and carried out his own government orders. Anyone who disobeyed would be destroyed. Since Gao Gong was driven away, he was the only one left in the cabinet. In order to reflect the democratic style, he was promoted one after another. Several people entered the cabinet, first Lu Tiaoyang, then Zhang Siwei, Ma Ziqiang, and Shen Shixing. Of course, although these brothers have different birthplaces, different hobbies, and different heights, shorts, fats, and thin looks, to Zhang Juzheng, they are The same kind of people - errand runners, have a common advantage - obedience.

However, the later development of facts proved that he was still wrong about these four people, at least one of them was wrong. In addition to arbitrariness at work, Zhang Juzheng often said this sentence to people: I am not a relative. This sentence seems very modest, which shows that I, Zhang Juzheng, am not the prime minister. But unfortunately, there is a second half of this modest sentence: Nai She Ye. Taken together, this is a shocking sentence: I am not the Prime Minister, but the Regent. The so-called regent refers to the person who performs powers on behalf of the emperor. For Zhang Juzheng, the prime minister is already a child's play, and only the regent can be glorious.A commoner is so beautiful. If Zhu Yuanzhang, who abolished the prime minister, knew about it, he might be so angry that he would come to life.

But Zhang Juzheng is obviously not afraid of deceitful corpses, he deserved it, and hung such a couplet at home: The sun and the moon are bright together, and all nations look up to the Son of Heaven. Hills and mountains are mountains, and the four directions praise Taiyue Xianggong. This pair of couplets is made of gold, which is very grand, but it is a fatal thing to replace it in the past.Because the so-called Taiyue is Zhang Juzheng's character, and as we all know, the second half of the couplet is higher than the first half, so Zhang Juzheng is better than the emperor. But the master Zhang Juzheng not only refused to accept it, but also framed it in a grandiose manner, so that it was almost pasted on the door as a couplet for the Spring Festival.

But if a person is invincible for too long, God will be dissatisfied. After all, he likes to be lively, so in the dark, he found two enemies for Zhang Juzheng, one is his superior and the other is his subordinate. Zhang Juzheng's superior is the emperor. Speaking of the relationship between these two, it is really complicated. There is me in you, and you in me, but in general, this is a story of love and hatred. Zhu Yijun, Emperor Wanli, was born in the 42nd year of Jiajing (1563). He was the third son of Emperor Longqing. This man was very lucky. He became a prince at the age of six. Four years later, his father died and became emperor directly. Compared with his father who didn't even have the title of prince and had been a prince for more than 30 years, he was not a little better.

And if you analyze his resume carefully, you will find that the emperor, who is known as the first lazy man in the Ming Dynasty, was actually an extremely smart and hardworking man. Wanli is a very smart child. He learned to read early and is very sensible. Although he does not need him to help the family cook and wash feet, he also knows that his father died early and it is not easy for his mother to be alone. home, you have to rely on Mr. Zhang. It was what his mother told him, and he believed it for nearly a decade. The first intimate contact between him and Mr. Zhang was when his father just died. He still clearly remembers that it was a very critical moment. She was a widow who was about to take away his throne and let him go. At the critical moment, Mr. Zhang appeared. This unrivaled hero saved their mother and son, and drove away the evil old man Gao. With the help of the great Mr. Zhang Now, the good guys triumph over the bad guys, and the world is at peace again.

This was probably Wanli's first impression of Zhang Juzheng, and his mother's words and deeds after that also deepened his affection for Mr. Zhang. Because his father died early, his primary education was basically completed by Zhang Juzheng. The chief minister is versatile. Apart from handling government affairs, he also did not relax in his studies. He even compiled a book when he had nothing to do. , called "Dijian Book". It is no exaggeration to say that if there is a selection of excellent children's books today, this book will definitely be among the best. In this book, Zhang Juzheng deliberately selected 117 historical events, of which 81 were good and 30 were bad. Six things, each with illustrations, similar to a comic book, explain why it is good and why it is bad, I believe that as long as you are not an idiot, you will be able to understand it.

In order to implement the people-oriented educational philosophy, Zhang Juzheng really put in a lot of effort. He not only compiled the book, but also came to tell stories to the little emperor every day, pointing to the illustrations in the book, and telling Wanli which one is the good guy and which one is the bad guy. This is how Wanli spent his childhood. He has a very deep affection for Mr. Zhang who not only helps him with work, but also tells him stories.Even every time Zhang Juzheng stood in front of him when he went to court, he felt very sorry: Mr. Zhang is standing, how can I have the nerve to sit?

The problem was that the emperor could not stand up to the court, so he gave Zhang Juzheng a special treatment. When it was hot in summer, there would be two people standing beside Zhang Juzheng to fan him; A piece of felt cloth (of course, others don’t have it), when the colleagues next to him are wiping sweat and shivering, Mr. Zhang here is calm and relaxed, making everyone always look up to the sky and sigh: people are just different. In Wanli's view, Zhang Juzheng is a man similar to his father. But the concubine Li Gui (now the queen mother) who fanned the flames and guided Wanli had completely different motives for Zhang Juzheng.

Empress Dowager Li is an unusual woman. She was originally from Shanxi, and she came from a humble family background.Fortunately, she was pretty, was chosen by the emperor, and gave birth to a son. It is estimated that she often went to the bazaar since she was a child, bargaining, and has rich social experience, so she was very good at affairs in the palace, and her popularity was good, and then she began to develop. But the development of things later proved that her nature has never changed - a businessman. From the first moment she saw Zhang Juzheng, Empress Dowager Li realized that he was a very valuable person, not only able to make good decisions, but also very capable in government affairs. In addition, his husband, Emperor Longqing, was honest and timid. I'm afraid I don't say anything, I'm still an old patient, and I can't tell if I will die when I step on my foot one day.

Although Empress Dowager Li is shrewd and capable, she also has certain political ambitions, but she is very clear that China is vast and things are very complicated. Things like tax collection, wars, urban management, and disaster relief cannot be handled by herself, and she can only rely on ministers to handle them. .In other words, she knows how much she weighs. From this point of view, she is many times stronger than the later Cixi (Cixi). This is a very interesting question. Looking at the entire Ming Dynasty, everything was possible. The eunuchs were in charge, and the ministers were dictatorships. However, the issue of wives (harem) participating in politics was rare. There was no market for a woman who ruled the country and listened to politics behind the curtain. , it seems very puzzling, but as long as a little analysis, you will find that the reason is actually very simple.

Let me introduce the relevant knowledge first. You must know that in Chinese history, it is not uncommon for women to participate in politics and make troubles, but it is rare to see good results. There are countless second-handers like Cixi. I also ask all female compatriots not to do anything for now, let me finish. The reason why women are more difficult than men in politics is that in the final analysis, it is a matter of biological structure. Political issues are the most complicated issues in the world and require great rationality. However, women are rich in emotions, and they tend to follow their feelings in many things, such as Aunt Cixi At the beginning, she knew about Guangxu's reform, and she was more supportive, but when she heard that the reform was about to reform herself, she abolished people. This is the second thing. The key is that she clearly knows that the Qing Dynasty is about to end, and it can't be done without reform, just to vent her anger , It is too irrational to abolish the teachings of the reformers. It is true that impulse is the devil. Back then Qin Xiaogong’s son hated Shang Yang to the core, and when his father died, he found a few horses and divided him up (five horses to divide the body, scientific name is Che Crack). Don't delay, in comparison, Aunt Ci's grade is really far behind. Later, Aunt Ci kept gesticulating because the foreigners did not allow her to abolish Guangxu. In a fit of anger, she used the Boxers to invite all the senior and second senior brothers to the capital. Now, I believe all the nonsense of invulnerability, and openly declared war on the world's powers (why did I go earlier), and did not send troops abroad. The only military action was to attack the embassies of various countries. It is only a few floors high, and the other party will go up if they die. Hundreds of people, surrounded by Qing soldiers and Boxers, couldn't get in for ten days and a half months. When they sent troops and panicked again, they quickly removed the siege and sent watermelons to the embassy. They were driven to the west, and suffered a lot along the way. After being exhausted, he came back very generously, expressing his willingness to use the power of the whole country to win the favor of the great powers. Speaking of this kind mother, I really sighed. I don’t know where to start. Scheming, you can only play tricks, kill a few princes, live a comfortable life, let her govern the country, it is hopeless. Of course, there are also some successful examples, such as the great Ms. Wu Zetian, who is really unable to reach her body, yearns for her, step by step, from court ladies to empresses, and then to emperors, anyone who dares to stand in the way, all of them will be killed, even The son is no exception, she seems to be no different from Cixi, but her reputation in history is much better than Cixi. Because when Cixi was watching a play, Wu Zetian was reading official documents, and when Cixi was eating hundreds of dishes, Wu Zetian didn't even have time for dinner. A politician, in addition to getting, must also give. So Cixi is just a conspirator, but Wu Zetian is a politician. A conspirator can only punish people, and a politician must not only punish people, but also the country. The Empress Dowager Li is different. She is neither a conspirator nor a politician. In a sense, she is a housewife who maintains the family. In the past dynasties, the reason why wives frequently intervened in politics was because the emperor had great power. In historical terms, this is called the posthumous power originating from the imperial power. But in the Ming Dynasty, the emperor himself had no power. Emperor Longqing worked for five or six years, and was scolded for more than half of the time. He wanted to buy some jewelry, but the Ministry of Households did not give him any money. To live on, he could only rely on Zhang Juzheng. Besides, Zhang Juzheng is handsome in addition to his excellent work. Of course, the definition of handsome is different from today. In Ming Dynasty, having a big beard was the first characteristic of a handsome guy (whiskers are not counted, it was a trait of bandits at that time), The one that most meets the standard is the one of Guan Gong, which flutters in the wind. Not only is it beautiful, it can be written with just a little ink, and it is also very practical. Not to mention Zhang Juzheng's regular facial features, he also has such a beard, both capable and good-looking, it would be unreasonable for Empress Dowager Li not to like him. So although the experiences and motives of the mother and son are different, they have one thing in common, that is, Mr. Zhang is a very important person and must be relied on—at least for now. Zhang Juzheng understood the thoughts of the orphan and widow mother very well. He respected the Empress Dowager Li and gave him enough face. After all, this person was also his superior, but his attitude towards Wanli was completely different. Mr. Zhang seemed completely different. Don't treat the emperor as a cadre, you can say what you want, you can train you how you want, and you are more father than father. One of the most shocking things happened when Wanli was studying. At that time, Wanli was reading the Analects of Confucius, and Zhang Juzheng stood by and listened. , pronounce Bo as the sound of "back". This is really not a big deal, but just after Wanli finished reading, he heard a roar from beside him: "This character should be pronounced Bo!" If you read a wrong word in school today, you will be upset if you are yelled at like this. I guess a person with a personality will reply: I like to read and memorize, what's wrong with you? But in Wanli at that time, the supreme emperor did not reply. Not only did he not reply, but he was trembling with fright. In a feudal society, Zhang Juzheng's behavior is outrageous no matter what angle you look at, it's not too much to pull him out and cut him a thousand times, even the child's own father has never trained him like this, Mr Zhang dared to be so presumptuous, he really bullied Zhu Chongba gone. But the reason why Zhang Juzheng made such a move was definitely not for the sake of prestige, but because there was a dream hidden deep in his heart. Thirty years ago, when he first entered the imperial court, Jiajing was sitting on the throne. This extremely difficult man made Mr. Zhang suffer a lot. He dodged back and forth and flattered him left and right. die. Long Qing, who succeeded him, was the complete opposite. He had no idea or care about anything, and had to do everything by himself. Although this is not bad, Zhang Juzheng knew that he would die one day, with such an emperor, who would wipe his ass if something happened? So he hopes to train a qualified successor, and he hopes that through his hands, he will become a wise king through the ages. Wanli, you are my goal, and I will spend my whole life cultivating you. I am no longer young, and I will eventually die, but I firmly believe that your name will be listed alongside Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty and Emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty. . In this way, under the nine springs, one should also smile. Things seemed to be smoother than expected. For a long time, everyone was moving in an orderly manner on Zhang Juzheng's track. The government was very stable, the emperor was very obedient, and the emperor's mother was very cooperative. However, it is precisely because it is too normal, and when the normal reaches the point of being abnormal, something goes wrong. When I was in high school, there was a classmate who was obsessed with playing. His biggest dream every day was to play everywhere instead of going to school, so he often skipped classes and finally angered the teacher and asked him to go home.At first the brother was very happy, but after staying at home for two months, he came back begging for nothing.I asked: why not play?Answer: After playing, it is boring. The situation of Emperor Wanli was roughly like this. When he first came to the throne, he was less than ten years old. Zhang Juzheng was in charge of everything, and he didn’t have to do anything. Write some instructions, and after a look, Zhang Juzheng above has approved everything, one, two, three, four, just follow suit. That's not counting, he doesn't even have the right to check and seal, you know, that's Feng Bao's job. After all, he was sixteen or seventeen years old, and he had nothing to do, so he would find someone to play with, but it was obvious that Zhang Juzheng was not interested in throwing sandbags with him, so Wanli had no choice but to play with the eunuch around him. The eunuch plays whatever he plays, the eunuch fights crickets, he fights crickets, the eunuch drinks, he drinks, the eunuch likes to sleep when he is drunk, and he likes to make trouble when he is drunk (the wine style is not good). So in the eighth year of Wanli (1580), brother Wanli, who was not good at drinking, finally had an accident. One day, he was drunk again, wandering in the palace, met a eunuch, suddenly became high-spirited, and said to the man: You sing Give me a song. Generally speaking, on such an occasion, when meeting a leader of this level, even if you can't sing, you have to hum a few words to pass the test. But the eunuch didn't know whether he really couldn't sing, or he was too scared, so he stood there for a long time without making a sound. Most of the emperors were impatient, especially the drunk emperor. Looking at the wooden stake in front of him, Wanli was very annoyed, and immediately ordered the brother who lacked musical quality to be beaten up, and a bunch of his hair was cut off after the beating. It means to cut off your head, but now you only cut off your hair, which is an extrajudicial favor. In other dynasties, this matter would have passed. The emperor kept his word, and he was the greatest in the world. It is not uncommon for people to fall to the ground if they can't sing. But Wanli is different. Although he is the emperor, there are still people above him. When Wanli was just drunk, Feng Bao got the news, and he immediately reported to Queen Mother Li, so when the emperor sobered up, he got the news that Queen Mother Li wanted to see him. When he arrived at the place, he realized that the matter was serious. Empress Dowager Li didn't talk to him at all, and made him kneel when they met, and then began to enumerate his sins. Wanli didn't defend himself, tears kept streaming, and kept saying that he would change his ways. Renew, never do it again. Well, so far, things are not too bad, people scolded, admitted their mistakes, so let's end it like this. However, Empress Dowager Li refused to give up. She took out a book, turned to one of the articles, and handed it to Wanli. This may seem like a trivial move, but in fact, Mr. Zhang Juzheng's tragic ending stems from this. When Wanli opened the book, it was like a thunderbolt, because the book was called "Han Shu", and the one he opened was "Huo Guang Biography". Huo Guang, a character in the Han Dynasty, had a famous half-brother named Huo Qubing. But in history, he is more famous than this celebrity, and he has done many great things, so I won't say much. The biggest thing among them is to abolish the emperor. Who was abolished, how was it abolished, the cause and effect are all issues of the Han Dynasty, and I won’t talk about it here, but at this time, this place, this scene, reading Mr. Huo Guang’s biography, Wanli understands the meaning very well: if you are not obedient, you will be abolished ! And the deeper meaning is: Although you are the emperor, there is Huo Guang who can abolish you by your side. Wanli knew very well who this Ming Huo Guang was. At the juncture of life and death, brother Wanli showed a strong desire to survive. He immediately kowtowed to apologize, hoping to be forgiven, and said that he would never do it again. After all, he was his own son. Seeing that the punishment had paid off, Empress Dowager Li withdrew her threat, but put forward a condition: Since the emperor made a mistake, he must write a review. There is a special term for the so-called emperor's review, which is called "criminal edict". I remember that Chongzhen also wrote it later, but this thing is usually a political means, and it has no effect on "purifying the soul". I think back when I was in junior high school, I often had to write self-criticisms to ensure that my parents would not be invited. In fact, it doesn’t matter to write this thing. It's really uncomfortable to recite in public and scold yourself. And this is the most embarrassing thing about the emperor's "edict of sin against oneself". Not only do you have to write your own sins, but you also have to make it into an official document and distribute it publicly in front of the world, which is really too embarrassing. After all, Brother Wanli was still thin-skinned. After kowtowing his head and crying, he suddenly regretted it again, like a big girl getting on a sedan chair, he was shy and refused to write. At the critical moment, a kind person appeared. "I'll write it!" Selfless volunteer, Zhang Juzheng. In other words, Mr. Zhang's efficiency is high, and he can finish writing in a short time with a splash of ink. After finishing writing, he directly asks Feng Bao to stamp it, without the emperor doing anything at all. Wanli sat on the sidelines, staring blankly at all this. He got drunk and hit someone. How did he end up in this situation?Almost fired? In his eighteen-year-old brain, everything was running fast. As the ruler of an empire, why did he fall into such a state?Who caused all this?Who suppressed himself? He raised his head and saw the person in front of him who was busy in front of the copywriting. Yes, this person is the answer. He is the one who led everything. This person is not Mr. Zhang, not Mr. Zhang, and not Minister Zhang. He is Huo Guang is a person who can threaten himself. In the eyes of Zhang Juzheng and Queen Mother Li, this is a good educational opportunity, and Brother Wanli will learn from it, treat others well in the future, and forge ahead bravely on the road to becoming a wise king. However, under this group of harmony, amidst the crying and begging for mercy, a seed of hatred has been planted, and the eight-year relationship has come to an end, not because of reprimand, not because of embarrassment, and not because of sin. There is only one reason - power. I'm already eighteen years old, and I'm already the emperor, why should I dictate, why should I threaten me?Who are you?Your last name?Gui Geng? This is the drunken beating incident that occurred in the eighth year of Wanli. The matter was very simple, but the consequences were very serious. The friends and teachers of the emperor disappeared, and they were replaced by enemies. But on the whole, the situation is not too pessimistic. After all, there is Empress Dowager Li, and with her mediating in the middle, the relationship between Zhang Juzheng and Wanli is not much worse. But the problem is that this middle-aged woman is not a buffer, but rather an accelerator. In her daily life, she has fully proved her true nature as a small businessman-to take advantage of the situation to the end. Since having Zhang Juzheng, Empress Dowager Li is very at ease. This man can not only help her take care of the house, but also help her teach her children, that is, he can be a housekeeper and a tutor, and he only takes one salary, which is really a good deal. For small businessmen, if they don't take advantage of the advantages, they are really bastards, so slowly, she also used Zhang Juzheng in other fields, such as... scaring children. When I was young, when I was disobedient, my father always told me that if you make trouble again, the traffickers will take you away, so I immediately stopped moving, sat there in horror, and looked around vigilantly, although I was not very I know exactly what human traffickers are. I only know that they like to abduct children, and after abducting them, they will stew them or braise them in brown sauce. Wanli also has mischievous moments. At this time, Zhang Juzheng will take the place of the human trafficker. Empress Dowager Li will say to the noisy child in a mysterious and strange tone like a seventy-year-old lady: "You make trouble again! Let Mr. Zhang know, what will you do?" This sentence is very effective for Wanli. Obviously, Mr. Zhang's deterrence is no less than that of human traffickers. Since ancient times, there have been many people (or things) used to scare children, from the earliest general references to old monsters and devils (only for the West), to later specific characters, such as Zhang Liao, who was extremely sturdy on the battlefield after the Hefei War in the Three Kingdoms period Comrade, I played this role temporarily (cry again, Zhang Wenyuan is here!), and later, during the War of Resistance Against Japan, the Japanese devils also played a cameo role for a while. At that time, trafficking became common throughout the country, and human traffickers became the protagonists again. All in all, the times are changing, and the scary content is also changing, but one thing remains unchanged, but those who are such protagonists are definitely not likable characters. So from childhood, in Wanli's heart, the name Zhang Juzheng did not represent love, but fear, and this should be attributed to his business mother to a large extent. Zhang Juzheng was not unaware of the deteriorating situation. Not long after the drunken incident, this old treacherous brother once offered to resign, saying that after working for so many years, his hair was gray and his brain was not working well. Yes, I hope to be able to go home and plant sweet potatoes as soon as possible. After the report is typed up in the morning, the reply will come down after a meal - no. Wanli really disagrees. On the one hand, he is not used to it. After all, you have been working for so many years, and you suddenly hand it over to me. How can you handle it? On the other hand, it is a temptation. After all, you have been working for so many years, and you suddenly hand it over to me, how can you explain it? . Two days later, Zhang Juzheng wrote again, firmly demanding to leave, and said, I am not resigning, but just asking for leave, if you need me, please write to me, and I will do it again. Zhang Juzheng is not hypocritical. The examples of Xia Yan, Yan Song, and Gao Gong are all in front of him. They are bloody and still alive. The only person who can survive is his teacher Xu Jie, and Xu Jie's only secret is called seeing Just accept it. Now is the time to collect. As soon as these words came out, Wanli finally felt relieved, he was not digging a hole, but he really wanted to leave.According to his thinking, he planned to approve it. If the matter continues like this, a happy ending can be expected. However, at the critical moment, the troublemaker appeared again. There is a difference between a businessman and a politician. The biggest difference is that a politician raises sheep, while a businessman raises pigs. Those who raise sheep will stock up every day, and when the wool grows long, they will cut it and continue to raise it. In any case, they will never engage in such things as dead fish and nets, and sheep will die. Once the knife goes down, it will be completely settled, and there is no plan to do long-term business. Empress Dowager Li is a businessman, she doesn't have the consciousness to get together and get together, and the flow of water is long, and she doesn't need to plan for Zhang Juzheng. Since it is easy to use, it will be used until it is useless, so she said: "Mr. Zhang can't go, you are still young now, wait until Mr. Zhang assists you until you are thirty!" This lacks great virtue. If you want to leave, you can't. You will be fifty-six this year, and if you work for another ten years, you will become a fairy without being a ghost. I can't do what I want to do. I'm only eighteen years old this year. If I play for another ten years, can I still make a flower? But the queen mother's will cannot be violated, so no matter how hypocritical, what should be done must be done, what should be played must be played, and Zhang Juzheng lost his last chance. Since you can't leave, let's do it. What should come will come, and you can't hide. With this awareness, Zhang Juzheng started his final work. From the eighth year of Wanli (1580) to the tenth year of Wanli (1582), Zhang Juzheng entered a state of almost madness. He worked day and night, implemented a whip law, strictly investigated those who took the opportunity to oppress the people, and punished officials who were not good at doing things. Those who have bad deeds will be dismissed and investigated, and the border defense will be strengthened. If I am dead, I will go to win over his wife San Niangzi (the one who did not marry Han Naji back then), and just ask the other party not to make trouble.Inside and out, as long as he can do it, he has done it. The Ming Empire once again glowed with calm and vitality. Except for Mr. Li Chengliang who went out to kill people from time to time, the border has calmed down a lot. Undead, everything looks so perfect. Contrary to the thriving empire, Zhang Juzheng's body is in decline. During the complicated work, he often faints and sometimes vomits blood. However, what can be done now? These are the last two years of Zhang Juzheng. Every day, he believes in the future of the country, the livelihood of ordinary people, the miracle of the peaceful and prosperous age, and the realization of that great ambition. He believed in all this at the cost of his life. Every moment of his life is filled with the brilliance of ideals and beliefs. On June 20th in the tenth year of Wanli (1582), the chief assistant of the imperial cabinet, Shangzhu Kingdom, Zhengyipin Taishi and Taifu, and Zhang Juzheng, a scholar of Zhongji Temple, died at the age of fifty-eight and posthumously named Wenzhong. Zhang Juzheng died, the emperor was very sad, this is true, after all, a person has been with him for so long, and he has done many things, it is impossible to have no feelings, so he cried a few times, and even had a few days of grief Can't go to court. In addition to grief, he also ordered to comfort Zhang Juzheng's family members, and held grand mourning activities. For a while, there were voices of mourning everywhere in the country. But with the relationship between him and Zhang Juzheng, and the many unbearable past events, it is impossible to be too emotional. The so-called very grief is actually only ten minutes of grief. So after a short period of mourning, the time for long-term liquidation has arrived. Zhang Juzheng died in June, and the fight began in December. Of course, the opponent was not Zhang Juzheng. In fact, in the imperial court at that time, the most hated person was Feng Bao. Mr. Zhang was born in the Imperial Academy, and he made it up step by step. A person like Eunuch Feng who ascended to the sky step by step, if it wasn't for his strong background, he would have been spit on drowned. Now Zhang Juzheng is dead, but Feng Bao seems to be very calm, because Feng Bao often played with the little emperor when he was a child, and Wanli was also very affectionate to him, he didn't call him by name, only called him big companion, the relationship was quite close, so he thought, Even if the sky is full of wind and rain, the sky will not fall. However, the sky fell. In December, someone accused him of the twelve deadly crimes. A few days later, the little emperor swiped his pen in the letter of complaint and concluded: Feng Bao deceived the king and the country, and the crime was serious. Feng Bao was caught off guard and passed out immediately. Please condolences to Comrade Feng Bao. Although the country is nonsense, it is a fact to deceive the emperor. In fact, he has always been ranked second in the list of most hated people in Wanli, second only to Zhang Juzheng, because this man has always been I'm doing one of the things Wanli hates the most - making small reports. Ever since he came to power, Feng Bao has regarded himself as the second housekeeper. Whenever there is any trouble in Wanli, he will tell Queen Mother Li immediately. He will report the cricket fight and slingshot, including the time when he got drunk and got into trouble. . When I was young, such people were generally called "secret agents", and they were the most despised. When he got to Wanli, he became a traitor. When he was young, he had no energy and was helpless. When he grew up, it would be two things. If he is not abandoned, when will he be? Feng Bao got into such a big disaster, but he was still so blindly optimistic. The reason is actually very simple: a person who has been an official for a long time will become stupid, and will have a series of hallucinations. . But for the sake of playing with him when he was a child, Wanli still saved his hand and arranged for him to go to Nanjing for the elderly, but he didn't kill him. This is Feng Bao, Zhang Juzheng is not so easy to deal with. Mr. Zhang has been in the court for many years, and many ministers belong to him. He has just died less than a year now, and it is likely that the public will be outraged if he reverses the case immediately. What's more troublesome is that Zhang Siwei, the current chief assistant of the cabinet, was also brought up by Zhang Juzheng. Naturally, he refused to help. It is not easy to punish Mr. Zhang. However, Wanli soon realized that he was wrong. All kinds of clues showed that besides himself, Mr. Zhang also had an enemy, a person he had trusted so much——Zhang Siwei. This is an extremely ancient revenge story, and Zhang Siwei had endured it for too long before the truth was revealed. Zhang Siwei, courtesy name Ziwei, was born in Puzhou, Shanxi, and was a Jinshi in the 32nd year of Jiajing. It seems that this is just an ordinary bureaucratic record, but in fact, his background is much more complicated than imagined. Zhang Siwei's father, named Zhang Yunling, was an ordinary Shanxi businessman, not a big figure, but his mother, Wang Shi, was extraordinary—the elder sister of Wang Chonggu. In other words, Zhang Siwei is Wang Chonggu's nephew. As I said before, Yang Bo, a powerful figure in the imperial court, is also from Shanxi, and his son married Wang Chonggu's daughter. That is to say, Yang Bo's daughter-in-law is Zhang Siwei's cousin. It seems complicated, right? . Later, Zhang Siwei gave birth to two sons, one named Zhang Jiahui and the other named Zhang Dinghui. The two of them got married almost at the same time, but their wives were sisters—two granddaughters of Yang Bo. I believe you already understand what is a special interest group. Wang Chonggu was the governor of Xuanda, and Yang Bo was the Minister of the Ministry of War (later changed to the Minister of the Ministry of Officials). They were high-ranking and powerful, but they were not Zhang Juzheng's people, and they often spoke ill of him. Both uncle and in-laws are like this, so Zhang Siwei's position is naturally similar. Of course, Zhang Juzheng is very clear about these ways of Zhang Siwei, so as early as the third year of Wanli (1575), he recommended Zhang Siwei to enter the cabinet and became a bachelor. This time, however, he finally made a mistake, a mistake his teacher had made before.Ten years ago, Xu Jie recommended Gao Gong to join the cabinet, thinking that Gao Gong could be sold as a favor. Ten years later, Zhang Juzheng thought the same. But in fact, Zhang Siwei was far from as simple as he thought. There was a deeper secret hidden in this person's heart. On that day five years ago, Yin Shidan made a big fuss in the cabinet and wanted to fight Gao Gong. Zhang Juzheng persuaded him to fight, but he was also scolded. It was in this farce that Zhang Juzheng strengthened his determination to get rid of Gao Gong. At the same time, he seems to have overlooked an important question - why did Yin Shidan suddenly have a seizure on that day? The reason is very simple, because just before that day, Yin Shidan got a definite news: Gao Gong was going to drive him away and replace him with someone else to join the cabinet. It was really unbearable, Xueshi Yin died, and this was considered a heroic moment. And the person arranged by Gao Gong to enter the cabinet to replace Yin Shidan was Zhang Siwei. It is really difficult for him to be grateful for this late invitation after five years. Well, this mysterious case is about to come to light. We have now grasped the following four points: 1. Wang Chonggu has a close relationship with Gao Gong, and his position was recommended by Gao Gong. 2. When Zhang Juzheng was preparing to deal with Gao Gong, Yang Bo came to the door in person to intercede for Gao Gong. 3. Zhang Siwei is Wang Chonggu's nephew and also Yang Bo's in-laws. 4. Gao Gong once recommended Zhang Siwei to join the cabinet to replace the disobedient Yin Shidan. So we can draw such a conclusion: Zhang Siwei is Gao Gong's confidant, a very obedient confidant from beginning to end. So we have reason to believe that when Zhang Juzheng joined forces with Feng Bao to drive away Gao Gong, a cold gaze was cast on his back.
