Chapter 4 Chapter Four Mature

In the 33rd year of Jiajing (1554), 30-year-old Zhang Fenqing returned home full of resentment. To be honest, he chose this time to go home. , Yang Jisheng wrote the letter desperately, Yan Song exerted his power, Xu Jie was in a good situation, and it was a bloodbath. According to Zhang Juzheng's personality, it would be difficult not to get involved. He didn't engage in politics and had no other means of entertainment, so he had no choice but to visit mountains and rivers, so during those three years, Zhang Juzheng visited many places of interest, leaving his footprints everywhere from the West Lake to the top of Wudang. A three-year national tour not only did not relieve his mood, but made him discover another problem.

It turns out that life can be like hell.Zhang Juzheng let out such a long sigh after seeing countless people begging along the street, selling their sons and daughters, just hoping to have one more meal and live another day. From child prodigy to scholar, to Juren, Jinshi, and Hanlin, Zhang Juzheng's life was relatively smooth despite all kinds of unhappiness. And it was not until he traveled around and saw it with his own eyes that he understood the following truths, for example: if a person has no land, he will have no income, and without income, he will have no food, and without food, he will start to sell his property, from furniture to houses. When wives and children have nothing to sell, they will go to the bark. After the bark is gone, they will eat Guanyin soil, which cannot be digested. At the end of eating, people will die, and their stomachs will swell when they die very high.

At the same time, he also discovered that there are still many people in this world who don't like poetry, calligraphy and painting, and don't have so much sadness. What they want is a bowl of rice mixed with sand. In other words, whether a piece of calligraphy and painting is Wang Xizhi's or Huai Su's is not important at all, what is important is whether the calligraphy and painting paper is thick enough to be inconvenient to digest. When he sees those dead bodies lying on the street, neglected and cleaned up, he sometimes wonders whether these people also had wives, husbands, and children, and whether they also had a life of laughter, a Happy home.

Just when Zhang Juzheng was heartbroken by this, an enemy came to the door again. This person is the King of Liao. Speaking of which, he is really a careless guy. When he heard that Zhang Juzheng was back, he took the initiative to find him for one purpose - to play. As a vassal king, staying in such a small place as Jingzhou, and usually not being able to go far, he could only eat, drink, prostitute and gamble, was really boring, so in his opinion, Zhang Juzheng was the best candidate for entertainment. This man is still very forgetful, he doesn't seem to remember that the grandfather of this playmate in front of him was killed by him, and Zhang Juzheng has become a toy, and he was called to the palace to drink and compose poems with this son-in-law every day, forcing himself to laugh.

During those humiliating days, Zhang Juzheng endured all these silently. At the same time, he discovered another side of this world: it turns out that life can also be like heaven. For example, the king of Liao, who was born with a golden key in his mouth, has enough food and clothing but is still not satisfied. He fishes and feeds the people of the earth, uses them as he wants, takes them as he wants, he wants to be a man, and the people have to be animals, and he wants to live in style. , the people will die in pain. Whenever Zhang Juzheng finished his entertainment, left the sumptuous banquet, and walked out of the magnificent palace, he could always see dying hungry people and homeless people who could only sleep on the street.

It turns out that there is only a wall between heaven and hell. This is the truth of the great tomorrow. When countless poor people are oppressed and lose their land and wander around, the noble adults are thinking about where to go tomorrow and what kind of poem they should write. These scenes, which are not unusual for officials, deeply moved Zhang Juzheng, because unlike most officials, he still has a conscience. Facing those begging and helpless eyes, and the corpses dying of cold and starvation on the roadside, Zhang Juzheng once again established his ambition, an ambition that he would stick to in the end - to take the world as his own responsibility.

The so-called taking the world as one's own responsibility, in layman's terms, means to take other people's affairs as one's own affairs.Everyone on earth knows it, but it seems that only aliens can do it. Hundreds of years ago, a man named Adam Smith wrote a book called "The Wealth of Nations" in his home. In this book, known as the greatest book in the history of economics, Comrade Adam pointed out to us It is the truth that man is born, and always will be, a selfish animal. As long as you go home and look in the mirror, you will find that this law is very reliable. Who is willing to fight, fight, and give all their efforts, efforts, and even their lives for a stranger?By the way, maybe they won't accept your favor.

Not a fool, but also mentally ill.I believe this is the answer for most people, but the problem is that such people do exist, and they are willing to sacrifice everything for the benefit of others. And this special group, we usually call it a great man, so it is not so easy to be a great man. Confucius should be regarded as one of many great men. He devoted his whole life to seeking truth and popularizing education. Of course, he was not a so-called "incurable optimist", and his words and deeds were certainly not "chicken soup for the soul" or "Inspirational classic", in my opinion, he looks like an "incurable pessimist".

He wandered for decades, traveled around, and witnessed the most brutal massacres and destructions, but he still chose to preach and pass on hope and knowledge to more people. This is undoubtedly a great act, and what he did is truly The reason is definitely not optimism, but -- compassion. Understand the darkness and despair of the world, but never give up, and care for all unfortunate people with compassion. This is the real reason why a great man becomes a great man, and this is the most noble morality and emotion of human beings. Zhang Juzheng is such a great man. He is well-clothed and has a bright future. He will not suffer from cold or starve. He can choose to be a law-abiding bureaucrat, mix his career with his qualifications, and finally gain both fame and fortune.

However, like the doctor Guevara who rode a motorcycle across South America, after seeing the injustice and ugliness in the world, he chose another path, an extremely difficult but extremely glorious path. In the darkness, Zhang Juzheng took over the torch of his predecessors and became another person who took the world as his own responsibility. So I believe that even if this world is very dark and evil, even if it makes you feel miserable and life is worse than death, you should still muster your courage and live bravely. So I believe that hope is not dead. In the thirty-sixth year of Jiajing (1557), Zhang Juzheng returned to Beijing. At this time, he has been reborn. He knows what he wants to do and how to do it.

In terms of IQ alone, Xu Jie should not be the most intelligent person in the Jiajing period, because from the actual performance point of view, Zhang Juzheng is much better than him. In those years, it was really not easy to make a living in the imperial court. In order to survive, Xu Jie pretended to be a grandson for more than 20 years, and had to please and compromise with many parties, but Zhang Juzheng's performance surprised everyone. Although this young man is just in his early thirties, and not long ago he was a standard angry youth, but in just a few years, he has become a political master who is unfathomable and unfathomable. At that time, Xu Jie was already in open confrontation with Yan Song. Except for a brave man, no one dared to contact Xu Jie openly, for fear of being killed by the Yan Party as an enemy.Even buddies like Wu Shilai and Zou Yinglong would sneak into the mansion at night every time they approached Xu Jie, not shooting. The only exception was Zhang Juzheng, who always came during the day, and liked to sit in an official sedan chair and announce loudly, as if he was afraid that people would not know his relationship with Xu Jie, even in court, he dared to openly whisper to Xu Jie. What's even more strange is that Yan Song and his party members didn't feel any surprise about this scene, and they didn't regard him as an opponent, because Zhang Juzheng had a good relationship with them. walk around. Even in the eyes of ordinary people, Zhang Juzheng's behavior is undoubtedly a typical double-faced person, but at that time, even Yan Song, who was so smart that his head was smoking, believed that Zhang Hanlin was an upright person who never formed a party and was frank swing. It's obviously the Xu Party, and it's obviously a trick, so many people are watching, but they can't see through it.In the Jiajing Dynasty, which lasted for more than forty years, this was the most inexplicable scene. The only reasonable explanation for this strange phenomenon is: Zhang Juzheng is a super capable person. In him, there is a terrible political talent.Even in the most dangerous political environment, he was able to advance and retreat freely, and he was able to do a job with ease in the hail of bullets from both sides. Such a stunt is estimated to be beyond the reach of the International Red Cross. So in those few years, although the outside world was life and death, and blood flowed like rivers, Zhang Juzheng was as stable as Mount Tai, safe and sound. But if you think that he keeps his own place, you are wrong. Among the Xu Party, Zhang Juzheng is probably the most radical one, often shouting and shouting in front of Xu Jie, and he has the aura of being at odds with Yan Song. However, Xu Jie just smiled. He arranged for Wu Shilai, Dong Chuance, and Zhang Chong to test Yan Song, and ordered Zou Yinglong to impeach Yan Shifan, but he never moved Zhang Juzheng.Because he knows very well that this is an extraordinary person, and now is not the time to let him play. In fact, not only did Zhang Juzheng not have the chance to appear on the stage, he was even promoted slowly. He was a Jinshi in the 26th year of Jiajing, and it has been more than ten years in a blink of an eye. He is still a seventh-rank editor, not even Yang Jisheng. Zhang Juzheng couldn't figure it out either, how could he follow the No. 2 person in the imperial court, and it was a bit unreasonable to make such slow progress. But two years later, when he heard the appointment order, all the complaints disappeared immediately, and he finally understood Xu Jie's good intentions. In the thirty-ninth year of Jiajing (1560), Zhang Juzheng, editor of the Imperial Academy, was promoted to Youchunfang Youzhongyun because of his hard work and excellent assessment. Youchunfang Youzhongyun and Guozijian Siye are both sixth-rank officials, seemingly insignificant and inconspicuous, but this is absolutely not the case: The main responsibility of Youchunfang Youzhongyun is to manage the prince’s official documents and provide clerical assistance for the prince, while Guozijian Siye is roughly equivalent to the vice president of Central University, second only to the president (sacrifice wine). Now that I understand, I became You Zhongyun, so I can sort out the prince's files and establish a relationship with the prince. This is called looking for background. When you become the vice president of the Central University, all the students of the Imperial College will become your students. This is called pulling gangs. You know, Chiang Kai-shek likes to be called the principal the most, and that's not unreasonable. Moreover, these two positions are not of high rank and do not attract attention. There is no danger of becoming a target, and they can also exercise their talents. For the designated successors who should not be exposed for the time being, they are really perfect. The abacus is so good, brother Xu Jie, I am convinced! But it is always impossible to be perfect. By the way, the headmaster of the Guozijian at that time happened to be Gao Gong, and this coincidence would bring great trouble to Xu Jie in the near future. Xu Jie was so kind to Zhang Juzheng that it was too good to be true. In the thirty-ninth year of Jiajing, the struggle between Xu Jie and Yan Song had reached a life-and-death moment. However, no matter how tense the situation was, as Xu Jie's most proud student, Zhang Juzheng never took part in the battle. He just sorted out official documents and taught his students at ease. Judging from this momentum, even if he wanted to blow up the bunker, Mr. Xu would carry the explosives himself. Zhang Juzheng kept all of this firmly in his heart, he knew what Xu Jie expected of him. After all, Yan Song fell at the feet of Xu Jie, who was smarter than him, so Zhang Juzheng's future became brighter. In the 43rd year of Jiajing (1564), he was promoted to Youchunfang Youyude. You Yude is from the fifth grade, that is to say, Zhang Juzheng has only raised half a grade in four years. However, when he heard the appointment, he was so happy that he almost jumped up, because this is You Yude's only job. It is to serve as the lecturer of King Yu. King Yu and Xu Jie had never been on the same line, so it took a lot of effort to get Zhang Juzheng in. In this way, Zhang Juzheng entered Yuwang's mansion and became one of Yuwang's four lecturers. It is interesting to say that the other three are his old acquaintances. They are: old colleague Gao Gong, old classmate Yin Shidan, and Chen Yiqin, the teacher of the year (he was the one who graded the papers during the college entrance examination). These four lecturers have thus started their teaching life together day and night, and in the near future, they will become influential figures in the political arena of the empire. Xu Jie had originally planned to let Zhang Juzheng hone his skills for a few more years before entering the cabinet to succeed him, but now the situation has changed. Due to his own misjudgment, Gao Gong has already gained the upper hand, so he must start to act in advance. But when Xu Jie was about to harvest the crops he had cultivated for more than ten years, an accident happened. He was surprised to find that there were weeds growing on Zhang Juzheng's private plot. The name of the weed is high arch. Gao Gong, as his name suggests, is arrogant and extremely difficult. People who are officials in the same dynasty with him rarely become his friends, because he is not only conceited and talented, but also often despises his colleagues and superiors. He always says: you These idiots... Maybe you will wonder, isn't this person stupid? How can he be promoted with such a poor mass base?Let me tell you, Mr. Gao is not stupid. You must know that although he looks down on his superior colleagues, he respects his boss (emperor) very much.He often wrote green poems for Jiajing, and the diction was beautiful. The ministers at the time recognized that his level of writing such flattering articles could be ranked second (the number one was Li Chunfang), and Xu Jie had to stand aside. What's more, he still holds a King Yu in his hand. With such abundant resources, no matter whether you despise him or scold him, what can you do? So he has very few friends, Guo Pu counts as one, and Zhang Juzheng counts as one. Guo Pu is his fellow countryman and comrade-in-arms, so I won't say much, and the reason why Zhang Juzheng can become his friend is entirely due to his strength. Gao Gong once said to people that the civil and military affairs of the Manchu Dynasty, except for Shu Da (Zhang Juzheng's character Shu Da), were all incompetent. When he first arrived at the Guozijian, Gao Gong was very disapproving of his deputy. He ordered Zhang Juzheng to be his servant and shouted around. However, Zhang Juzheng didn't say a word, just immersed himself in his work, and in just a few months, he made the Imperial College that no one cared about before very impressive.Gao Gong looked at him with admiration. A few years later, when the two reunited as Yu Wang's lecturer, Gao Gong had already fully understood the man's knowledge and ability, so he put down his airs for the first time, and every time he saw Zhang Juzheng, he would take the initiative to salute, And I often find him to chat and exchange ideas. Over time, the two became good friends, and often went out to play together. It was during that outing that Gao Gong revealed his inner secret to Zhang Juzheng. On that sunny morning, Gao Gong standing in the morning breeze faced the beauty of the mountains and rivers in front of him, filled with emotion, and said this sentence to Zhang Juzheng standing beside him: "With your talents, you will become a great weapon. I am willing to encourage you to join the cabinet in the future, help the community, and establish immortal achievements!" Zhang Juzheng stared intently at the high-spirited man in front of him, then he stepped forward, faced this like-minded comrade-in-arms, and nodded firmly. Yes, that's exactly my goal. At that moment, the fifty-two-year-old Gao Gong and the thirty-nine-year-old Zhang Juzheng formed an alliance, and an ambitious ambition to turn the tide and make contributions in times of crisis was established. The heroes of the world are all from my generation! The scheming Xu Jie soon discovered the relationship between the two. He knew that it was impossible to expect Zhang Juzheng to be one-sided and help him fight Gao Gong. But Gao Gong became increasingly arrogant in the cabinet, and he couldn't think of a better way for a while. When he was thinking hard about the countermeasures, an accident happened. Unfortunately, for Xu Jie, this was really not a good thing. The thing is like this, in the imperial court at that time, there was a spokesperson named Hu Yingjia, who said that this man had nothing to do one day, so he started his job - impeachment, this time the target he chose was the deputy of the Ministry of Industry Minister Li Dengyun. In fact, his original intention was just to scold people, but the problem was that his bullets were so well written, within a few days, the news came that Li Dengyun was ordered to retire. Now Hu Yingjia was stunned. Although it is quite an achievement to bring down a deputy minister with an article, the problem is that this Li Dengyun has an in-law named Gao Gong. It's over, Comrade Hu Yingjia is in trouble now, he offended Gao Gong, sooner or later he can't afford to go around, and he also learned from the roadside agency that Master Gao Gong was very annoyed by this matter and planned to deal with him. In desperation, Hu Yingjia decided to take the risk, instead of sitting and waiting for death, it is better to fight hard.He began to inquire about the news, preparing to strike first. Soon, he learned the following three pieces of news: First, Jiajing was seriously ill recently and his health was very poor. Secondly, Gao Gong moved and lived in Xi'anmen. In the end, Gao Gong moved some of his personal belongings from his Xiyuan duty room back home, and he often stayed at home. These three situations seem to be unrelated and normal, but the murderous blood knife is hidden in it. Hu Yingjia had an idea and came up with an extremely vicious plan, and immediately wrote a bullet. I once sorted out the memorabilia of the officials of the Ming Dynasty, and I have read no less than a hundred of them, with different methods of scolding, and they are wonderful. It's creepy and chilly. "Hu Yingjia, Minister of the Ministry of Officials, gave a memorial to Hu Yingjia. The Minister of Rites, Gao Gong, a scholar of Wenyuan Pavilion, received great favor from His Majesty, but when the emperor was seriously ill, he left his post and went home without authorization. I moved all the belongings back home, I really don’t know what their intentions are?!” Poison, it's too poisonous, you know, Jiajing's most feared thing in his life is that the minister has other plans. When Xu Jie proposed to establish a prince, he was almost abolished by him. Now when he is seriously ill, Gao Gong starts to clean up The luggage is gone, isn't it clear that we have to start all over again? According to Jiajing's character, if there is no accident, the day he saw this bullet is the time when Gao Gong died. The more insidious part of this poisonous plan is that Hu Yingjia has already seen through the contradiction between Gao Gong and Xu Jie. He knows that once this article is uploaded to the cabinet and provokes a war, Gao Gong will definitely think that Xu Jie is the instigator. When the war starts, the scapegoat can be passed on to Xu Jie, and maybe he can even get his appreciation. By the way, Hu Yingjia is a fellow of Xu Jie. This is a nearly perfect plan that kills three birds with one stone. After finishing the arrangement, Hu Yingjia complacently waited for the news of Gao Gong's death, but he did not expect that he had neglected one of the most important issues - patients are easily irritated, but if When the illness reaches a certain level, I can no longer be angry even if I want to. At this time, Comrade Jiajing was already terminally ill, lying on the bed dying, just waiting to report to the king of hell, how could he have the energy to read Hu Yingjia's bullets? So Hu Yanguan's document full of murderous enthusiasm fell into Gao Gong's hands. After Gao Gong finished reading the memorial, he felt like thunder and broke out in a cold sweat. He was very annoyed, and immediately decided that this was Xu Jie's conspiracy. He publicly stated that he was at odds with Mr. Shoufu, and went to Guo Pu overnight to discuss countermeasures. . Being squeezed out in the cabinet, Zhang Juzheng being meddled in, and now there is Hu Yingjia, Xu Shoufu was eager to hit the wall. Just when he was in a state of desperation, another earth-shattering news came: Jiajing died. It is not strange to die in the end, but it is strange to die so late. You must know that this dear man has devoted his limited energy to unlimited cultivation for decades, and tasted the new medicine that is said to be able to live forever with a fearless spirit. According to analysis, the other The main components include gold (Au), silver (Ag), mercury (Hg) and various heavy metals and minerals. Jiajing was a good comrade. He ate these things for forty years without any complaints, yet he still managed to survive to the age of sixty. It was a miracle, a miracle. To be honest, I don’t have a cold for this man, but there is nothing I can do. He has been in power for more than 40 years, and he has produced a large number of capable people, and strange things happen frequently. His life is really touching. Jiajing is a smart man, he can control the government and manipulate officials at the age of sixteen, and most of his subordinates are super capable, civil servants Xia Yan, Xu Jie, Hu Zongxian are all sophisticated, military generals Qi Jiguang, Yu Dayou, Tan Lun are all fierce and powerful , It can be said that there are a lot of talents. However, the country has become like this. As Hai Rui said, the people are poor, their homes are clean, the officialdom is corrupt and greedy, the country cannot make ends meet, and it runs into deficit every year. The Ming Empire is gradually slipping to the brink of collapse. Such a strange phenomenon occurs only because of two words - selfishness. Jiajing is very selfish. He thinks that being an emperor is to enjoy the blessings, there are no obligations, only rights, and in order to enjoy it, he must divide the officials and let them fight back and forth, so that his position can be stabilized. In order to enjoy, one must practice Taoism, so that one can live longer. As for the national economy and the people's livelihood, the devil will take care of it. In a word, after my death, even if the flood is overwhelming! Taishang Daluo Tianxian Ziji Longevity Shengzhi Tong Sanyuan Certificate Ying Yuxu Chief Palmer Wulei Great Daoist Xuandu Jing Wanshou Emperor Zhu Houcong——is still dead. But that's all. Therefore, there is only one word to describe his death: Should! On the night when Jiajing collapsed, the first person to receive news of his death was Xu Jie. Of course, it’s unrealistic to expect him to cry and be in pain, but after hearing the news, Xu Jie did remain silent, not in silent mourning, but because decades of political experience told him that a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to turn defeat into victory It has appeared, right on the body of this dead man. He immediately gave the order: "Call Zhang Juzheng!" At this time, Zhang Juzheng was only a bachelor of the Imperial Academy, not yet a member of the cabinet, and naturally he was not obliged to be on duty, so when he was called out from the hot quilt and ran into the palace against the cold wind of December in Beijing, he was still ashamed. Foggy. Xu Jie told him that the emperor was dead.Zhang Juzheng was extremely calm, noncommittal. Just die, it's not my father, so there's nothing to be excited about. But he was still excited, because Xu Jie said another sentence: "If you want to write a will, I will draw it up and you will write it." Zhang Juzheng's hands trembled, trembling with excitement. In the Ming Dynasty, the emperor may have issued countless documents when he was alive, but the most important one was his posthumous edict, because it was the summary of his life, and the major policies of the country would also be determined in this document. The key secret of the will is that it is not the emperor's own will at all, but written by the ministers, so most of the wills are written as self-criticisms, and they scold themselves bloody, even worse than street gangsters There are not a few.Anyway, you are dead, can you get up and settle the score? With the edict in hand, the world is in hand. Therefore, Zhang Juzheng was very excited to participate in the drafting of this historic document. He knew that according to the regulations, he, a Bachelor of the Fifth Rank Imperial Academy, was not qualified to write at all, but now, he was sitting at the table with a brush in his hand, and Qianqian The fate of thousands of people in the world. He raised his head, and cast a grateful glance at Xu Jie who was standing beside him and was busy making sentences in deep thought. But he didn't know that when he was immersed in writing, Xu Jie also looked at him repeatedly, his eyes full of complacency. Great, everything is under control. This is the most brilliant move in Xu Jie's political career, and it is also the most brilliant flash of his political wisdom. On this night, he revealed his true colors, vented all the anger accumulated for more than twenty years, completely denied Jiajing who had been messing around for decades, and denounced his disorderly and slack administration. Of course, from the point of view of the procedure , These words were said by Comrade Jiajing himself, no wonder others. This is the famous "Jiajing Legacy" in the history of the Ming Dynasty. It is said that after the full text was published, the whole country rejoiced, and many literati wrote poems to praise this article. Up, failed, too failed. Relying on this will (the author knows it well), Xu Jie's prestige reached its peak, his power also flourished, and Gao Gong's arrogance was suppressed. But in fact, on that night, this will was not Xu Jie's most proud achievement. The real winner is Zhang Juzheng. The naive Zhang Juzheng didn't know that when he picked up the pen and wrote the first word, he and Gao Gong had completely broken off. It is precisely because the edict is extremely important, so according to the usual practice, its drafting must be discussed and decided by the cabinet ministers, but on that night, only one person who arrived at the scene was Xu Jie. Letting the pigeons go is the worst of the big taboos. Li Chunfang is an honest person, but Gao Gong and Guo Pu are not easy to dismiss. How dare you eat alone behind our backs?I can't spare you! Soon Gao Gong learned that there was another person who drafted the document with Xu Jie, and this person turned out to be Zhang Juzheng. What level is Zhang Juzheng? Why draft a will! He was taken aback and furious, and a seed of hatred was planted. From then on, Zhang Juzheng was no longer his friend and partner. But for Zhang Juzheng, he has only one choice between teacher and friend. Ginger is still old and hot, and fox is still old and fine. A day later, the guards in the capital prison learned of Jiajing's death. After discussing with each other, they began to assign work. They bought vegetables, bought meat, and cooked a hearty meal. prisoners to eat. The prisoner's name is Hai Rui. Ever since scolding the emperor, Mr. Hai Rui's reputation has grown day by day. Numerous officials regard him as a role model, and some ordinary people even hang his face at home, ask for instructions early and report later, and become an out-and-out idol. figure. Now that the emperor is dead, in the name of Hai Rui, he is naturally released without charge and promoted to a noble. The guards also want to make progress, so they plan to take a chance and treat Mr. Hai to a meal, so that there will be someone to take care of him in the future . The food was delivered to the prison cell, Hai Rui saw that there was fish and meat, and then calculated that Taishang Laojun's birthday was still far away, and his own birthday was even more unreliable. The so-called decapitation meal is the meal eaten before the beheading. Generally speaking, it is not bad. We Chinese are benevolent and righteous, and we are determined not to increase the burden on the king of Hades, and we promise not to let a starving ghost report for duty.Of course, most people would not be able to eat this meal - too much psychological pressure. But if it was to be put on Hai Rui, it would be a matter of two words. Without further ado, Hai Meng just picked up his chopsticks and started digging. Then he sat down and looked at the guard, which meant that I finished eating, why don't you do anything. The guard was terrified by his death-seeking eyes, so he said to him cautiously: "Mr. Hai, you don't know yet, the emperor has passed away, and you will be able to leave soon." What happened next has been written into history books large and small, and it can be called a spectacle in history. After hearing this sentence, Hai Rui was stunned for a while, and then suddenly burst into tears, crying until he couldn't breathe, and then began to vomit, first this, and then the next , and finally yellow bile water. The guard was stunned. He didn't know what was going on. He was so frightened that he clung to the wall tightly, not daring to move. Hai Rui was really crying, Jiajing died, he was very sad, it is a bit ironic to say that Jiajing trusted Yan Song, trusted Xu Jie, and gave them high-ranking officials and rich salary, but in the end one used him as a tool, the other as a puppet, the only The person who felt sad for his death turned out to be the Hai Rui who scolded him and was thrown into prison by him. Jiajing, it turns out that you are so lonely. As for Hai Rui's performance, there are generally two different evaluations. Those who praise him deliberately avoid it and don't mention it at all, while those who scold him say it is a concentrated expression of his ignorance and blind obedience. I remember that when I was young, I once read a set of comic strips, which was regarded as my historical enlightenment textbook. In the preface of each comic strip, the outline of the story of this episode will be introduced, but no matter which episode it is, there will always be such a sentence below: Please Readers should note that Yue Fei's behavior is a manifestation of feudal loyalty to the emperor and should be criticized. Personally, I think this is a pretty shameless statement. In a feudal society, there is no democratic recommendation and competitive elections. Unless you set up your own family, who else can you be loyal to except the emperor? Is it possible to believe in God? In the feudal era, just do the things of the feudal era, talk about the words of the feudal era, don't expect people to have a high level of consciousness, this is called historical materialism. Hai Rui had never read the books of Montesquieu and Rousseau. When Jiajing was alive, Hai Rui scolded him because he was doing his duty. When Jiajing died, Hai Rui cried about him, which was also doing his duty. Duty, duty only. But you can't die from crying, and you have to live after crying. As expected by the guards, Hai Rui was released soon. A few years later, he will come out again and cause even bigger troubles. Ten days later, everyone in the world knew the news of the emperor's death, including a commoner in Qizhou, Huguang (now Qichun, Hubei). He was very calm about the news, because more than ten years ago, when he When I saw Jiajing, who was still in his prime, he had already expected that this drug addicted emperor would not last long. He shook his head helplessly, then went back to the hut to continue writing his book. More than 30 years ago, as a scholar who wanted to gain fame, he took part in the provincial examination three times, but his luck was not very good, and he always failed in the examination, so in a fit of anger, he took up his father's old profession. Although it is always a sad thing to lose the name of Sun Shan, this person's failure is really worthy of all human beings to celebrate with firecrackers, because his name is Li Shizhen. In fact, Li Shizhen didn't want to be a doctor at first, because although his father was a well-known local doctor and his family had some money, but in those days, the Four Books and Five Classics were the right way, and medicine was considered miscellaneous, so doctors were miscellaneous people. Miscellaneous people are naturally not welcome, so what if you have money, I just look down on you! Therefore, Li Shizhen's father urged him to never practice medicine in the future. Li Shizhen is obedient, but she just can't pass the exam. What can you do?What's more troublesome is that when he was twenty years old, he also contracted an extremely difficult-to-treat lung disease. After struggling in every possible way, he managed to save his life. So not long after he recovered from a long illness, he found his father and said only one sentence: "I won't take the exam, please pass on your medical skills to me." Father thought for a moment and nodded in agreement. I don't want others to suffer the pain and suffering I have experienced. In my opinion, this is roughly Li Shizhen's motivation for practicing medicine. Although he is not good at reading, Li Shizhen is quite talented in handling medicinal materials. As he grows older, he has seen more and more strange diseases, has more and more experience, and has better medical skills. From this point of view, it is not without reason that old men and women in their 50s and 60s are sitting in the outpatient clinics in the hospital, and doctors in their 20s and 30s can only sit on the sidelines and beat flies. For decades, there is hard work without credit. But Li Shizhen is obviously not a doctor with modern concepts, and he has no sense of fashion. He treats the poor, dare not charge millions of medical fees, asks the doctor warmly, asks the doctor about his health, and exempts all inspection fees and treatment fees , It is really a "heinous crime"! Li Shizhen has practiced medicine for more than ten years, regardless of the cost, only seeking to save people. Li Shizhen has persisted in this way. His savings are dwindling, but his reputation is getting bigger and bigger. So in the 30th year of Jiajing (1551), he ushered in a great change in his life. In this year, several people found him and very politely invited him to the Chu Palace, hoping that he would be the private doctor of Chu. With enough food and countless medical books and medicinal resources, Li Shizhen is not a fool, he agreed. In Chu Wangfu, Li Shizhen did a good job and cured many people. He was called a miracle doctor and his reputation shook the world. Everyone wants good things, especially people like Jiajing, so after hearing Li Shizhen's name, he told the king of Chu, find another doctor and send this to me. In this way, Li Shizhen entered the Imperial Hospital and met Jiajing, the most senior patient in the Ming Empire. In fact, Li Shizhen was very happy to be able to enter the imperial hospital. Being able to become an imperial physician can be regarded as a successful doctor among doctors. It is really unreasonable to be unhappy. But it didn't take long before he wanted to leave. The specific reason is not like what many books say, such as jealousy, loathing quack doctors, etc. Li Shizhen is not Hai Rui. After traveling around for so many years, things on the scene are still passable. The reason why he wants to leave is really because he can't do what he wants. Li Shizhen was a genius doctor. In those days, as long as he was not terminally ill like smallpox or tuberculosis, he could basically handle it. But the problem was that his only patient was a doctor who was not sick. He smiled and replied: “因为我本就是个医生啊!”
