Chapter 19 Chapter 19 The Destination of the End

There is a lot of fog ahead. This is the common feeling of Zhang Yong and Qiao Yu. After all, Zhu Houzhao stays with Jiang Bin every day, and only God knows what will happen tomorrow. Although they had anticipated what was about to happen and had full mental preparations, when that day finally came, the weirdness of things still far exceeded their imagination. In the fifteenth year of Zhengde (1520), Ding Jishuo in June, Qiao Yu suddenly ran to Zhang Yong's mansion out of breath. His face was full of panic, he grabbed Zhang Yong's sleeve, and only said one sentence for a long time: "Gone! Gone!"

Zhang Yong's face immediately turned pale, and he didn't ask who was missing, because only the disappearance of that person could make Qiao Yu so panicked. Just one day before, Zhu Houzhao went to visit Niu Shou Mountain near Nanjing. The famous Southern Song Dynasty general Yue Fei once defeated the Jin army here. But when it was getting late, someone was surprised to find that Zhu Houzhao was missing! But the strange thing is that the emperor disappeared, but his entourage and guards were not surprised by this, nor did they look for it with much fanfare. It seemed strange, but it was normal-the person in charge of the guard work was Jiang Bin.

Although Jiang Bin blocked the news, Qiao Yu had Qiao Yu's people, and this matter quickly reached his ears. He was so frightened that he almost lost his mind, so he hurried to find Zhang Yong, and proposed his Opinion. "The situation is urgent. To prevent any change, I will send troops to arrest Jiang Bin!" Zhang Yong was relatively calm. He told Qiao Yu that he couldn't do anything at the moment. After all, the situation is not yet clear, and Zhu Houzhao is relatively unreasonable. If you come back, it will be troublesome, and if you do it in a hurry, you may force Jiang Bin against him.

So the only thing we can do now is to send more people out to find them. "Wait first." This was the most bizarre disappearance in the history of the Ming Dynasty. What is puzzling is that the history books are so secretive about this matter, and it is very likely that someone secretly manipulated it behind it. It is really mysterious. One day passed, two days passed, more than ten days passed, and there was no sign of Zhu Houzhao. "Can't wait any longer!" Qiao Yu, who was almost crazy, couldn't bear it anymore. During these waiting days, he was living in hell. If Zhu Houzhao was really killed on his territory, not to mention Jiang Bin, even Yang Ting and the gang would not be able to bear it. will let him go.

"what to do?" He looked at Zhang Yong with hope for a savior, but what he got was this answer: "I do not know either." Zhang Yong, who was used to the storm, was finally at a loss this time. For such a strange thing, no one is alive, no dead body is seen, who can he turn to?In addition, Comrade Zhu has no son, and he doesn't even have a victim to report the case. He couldn't find the plaintiff in court, and he had no idea. Suddenly, a bright light appeared in his mind, and he remembered a person: "That person will definitely have a way." A few days later, Wang Shouren received an invitation from Zhang Yong.

After listening to the detailed introduction of this bizarre incident, he immediately realized that the situation was extremely dangerous. But at the same time, he also made an important judgment - Zhu Houzhao is not dead yet. "How do you know?" Zhang Yong still had no idea. "There is no sign of mobilization of the regiment battalion yet." The so-called regiment battalion is the elite selected and trained by Zhu Houzhao himself from the Beijing Army and the Frontier Army. They fight with him, which can roughly be regarded as his personal armed force, but Jiang Bin is responsible for most of the usual mobilization.

"If something unexpected happened to His Majesty, Jiang Bin would definitely do something, and the regiment camp is the only soldier he can use, but now there is no movement in the regiment camp, it must be that His Majesty was deceived by Jiang Bin and hid somewhere, that's all. " Only then did Zhang Yong and Qiao Yu breathe a sigh of relief. Since they were still alive, it would be easy. However, Wang Shouren is not optimistic, because his habit is to tell the good news first, and then the bad news. He then told the two brothers who were celebrating each other that although Zhu Houzhao was not dead, he was not far from death.

He raised a key question: Hiding the emperor is a very dangerous thing. Jiang Bin has always been cautious, and he has long passed the age of hide-and-seek. Why did he suddenly make such a risky move? The answer is - he is testing. To test the possible consequences of the murder, to test the reaction of the civil servants, and after the test, he will turn this scene into a fact. After peeling off layer by layer, Wang Shouren finally found the correct answer to this mystery. Now we must stop Jiang Bin and let him bring Zhu Houzhao out, but how can we do this? Facing the bewildered gazes of Zhang Yong and Qiao Yu, Wang Shouren smiled.

He always has a way. The next day, the Nanjing garrison suddenly started to search around Nanjing, but their search was very strange. Although there were a large number of people and a large scale, they seemed to have neither fixed targets nor fixed areas. At this time, the Nanzhili and Jiangxi garrisons also began to practice intensely and prepare for the war, with a mighty momentum. For all of this, many people are in the fog and don't understand what happened. But Jiang Bin knew it. He understood that his plot had already been seen through. The sudden appearance of such a big scene was nothing more than someone wanting to tell him not to cause any trouble with wishful thinking, and he had better be honest.

So after being missing for dozens of days, Zhu Houzhao finally reappeared. For him, this visit was an extremely unforgettable experience. As for the conspiracy issue, it was not within the scope of his consideration. Enough playing and playing, Zhu Chenhao also got it, Zhu Houzhao is finally ready to go home. But before that, he still has a good show to play. Guisi, Nanjing, in August of the fifteenth year of Zhengde. In a wide square, Zhu Houzhao ordered his subordinates to release Zhu Chenhao, but Mr. Zhu Chenhao didn't have any joy on his face, because he was surrounded by soldiers staring at him. After being free for only a few seconds, Zhu Houzhao gave an order, and he was arrested again and put back into the cell.

This is Zhu Houzhao's arrangement, he must personally catch Zhu Chenhao once, even if it is acting, only he can come up with such tricks to play with others. Finally put down the "rebellion", Zhu Houzhao was satisfied, and led all the troops on the way home. On the way back, Zhu Houzhao didn't stop. He passed Zhenjiang, and he stopped by Mr. Yang Yiqing's house. He ate and lived for nothing for a few days, and the old man couldn't rest for a long time, so he happily patted his butt and left. . Whether it's making trouble or playing, at least so far, Zhu Houzhao's trip to the south of the Yangtze River has been very smooth. There seems to be no conspiracy, and those people who are eager to move in the dark have nothing to do with him. The emperor was about to return to Beijing, and no one dared to think of him there. It seemed that Jiang Bin's plan was about to fail. But Zhu Houzhao would never have imagined that the devil's claws of death had quietly stretched out, waiting for him ahead. The fateful place that changed Zhu Houzhao's life is called Qingjiangpu. In September of the fifteenth year of Zhengde (1520), Zhu Houzhao came to this place, a mysterious and unknown place full of mist. On this day, he boarded a small boat and came to the pool, ready to continue his hobby - fishing.Soon after, however, he suddenly fell into the water. Another eternal mystery unfolds here. The entourage immediately jumped into the water and rescued him. Zhu Houzhao didn't seem to care much about it, but what happened after that began to make people puzzled. Although Zhu Houzhao doesn't study much, he is a man of good physique. He has practiced martial arts since he was a child, and he is very brave and fierce. He has participated in military training for a long time, and his physical fitness is quite good. However, the strange thing is that after falling into the water this time, his body suddenly became extremely weak, and he no longer had the vitality and spirit of the past. He stayed at home all day to recuperate, but he did not get better. Regarding this falling into the water, there are many controversies in the history books, and there has never been a conclusion. Naturally, it is impossible for me to draw a conclusion. However, the key to the city gate of Nanjing and the sudden disappearance of Niu Shou Mountain seem not to be pure coincidences. And the entourage and guards who went fishing with him that day, I only know that they, as Jiang Bin's subordinates, were also in charge of the same job on the day when the disappearance of Niu Shou Mountain happened. It seems that this mystery will never be solved, and all the truths have been completely buried that day. Since then, Zhu Houzhao has become a patient, and the heroic and galloping man no longer exists, and he will be dragged by the god of death to die step by step. In the 16th year of Zhengde (1521), Yi Chou in March, this wonderful and bizarre live drama finally came to an end. The dying Zhu Hou took care of the attendants and guards around him, and left his last words in his life, thus ending his colorful and legendary life. "My illness is hopeless. Please tell the empress dowager that the country's major affairs are the most important ones. You can discuss and deal with the cabinet. What happened before is all my fault and has nothing to do with others." Regarding Zhu Houzhao's last words, some people think it is false, because in the eyes of many people, Zhu Houzhao will never have such ideological consciousness, and his life should be fatuous and licentious to the end. In fact, I also hope that this last statement is not true, but the motive is completely different. If this passage really comes from Zhu Houzhao's mouth, it will be a proof of his compromise. This arrogant and self-seeking rebel has struggled all his life with the old men and rules and regulations that restrict his freedom, but at the end of his life For a moment, he gave up all his efforts and chose to surrender. If true, it's a downright tragedy. Because of his legendary experience and the deliberate slander of some people, Zhu Houzhao became a very well-known emperor in Chinese history. The so-called good things don’t go out, and bad things spread thousands of miles. He is much more famous than his diligent and honest father. , if there is a special entry for him in Ci Hai, there are probably two words that cannot be escaped in the notes: fatuous and absurd. Judging by the emperor's standards, it is not wrong to use these two words on him. He is really not a dedicated worker. But judging by human standards, he didn't do anything wrong, he wasn't cruel, he didn't kill innocent people indiscriminately, and he could distinguish between good and evil, so in my opinion, he is just a man who wants to do what he wants, free People who spend their lives. As a human being, he is normal, but as an emperor, he is abnormal. So I came to an important conclusion from this: The work of the emperor is really not done by humans. Zhu Houzhao has come to the end, but the life of another legendary figure in the Zhengde period is still going on, and Wang Shouren is still writing about his glory. The rebellion was quelled, the captives were handed over, and the king of Hades, the imp, was also sent away. This should be regarded as a consummation of merit and virtue.Mr. Wang can finally rest. At this time, Zhang Yong came, but this time he came to ask for something. What he wanted was King Ning's account book. Eunuch Zhang has many enemies in the imperial court, and he usually beats you to death. Now that God has given him a good opportunity, with this account book, are you afraid that you will not be killed? In his opinion, Wang Shouren is his man, and he will give it to him in terms of emotion and reason. However, Wang Shouren's answer was really unexpected: "I burned it." Zhang Yong's eyes were straight at that moment. Facing Zhang Yong who was burning with anger, Wang Shouren calmly stated his reason: "The rebellion is over, there is no point in going to war again, let's stop here." Zhang Yong found it difficult for him to understand Wang Shouren. He didn't want money, he didn't want officials, not only didn't he want to make trouble, he didn't even want his own rewards. There are such people in this world! After a sigh, Zhang Yong left, convinced. Everything is over and the world is quiet. After experiencing the biggest turmoil in his life, Wang Shouren finally found a moment of peace. Of course, it's only for a moment, because for a person like him, if he doesn't cause trouble, trouble will naturally come to him. The person who troubled him this time had a bigger background. In the first year of Jiajing (1522), the newly enthroned emperor admired Wang Shouren's achievements and decided to give him back the honor he deserved. He also lost his temper in public: "Why should such a talent be placed outside? Immediately transfer him to Beijing to work!" However, strange things happened afterwards, but this order was not implemented for a long time. In the end, the emperor urged him several times, and the Ministry of officials came up with an inexplicable result-transferring to the Minister of the Ministry of War in Nanjing. The emperor said he wanted him to enter the capital, and the bureaucrats dared not to carry it out? It is true that the officials did not carry out the emperor's order, but they did not disobey either, because they carried out another person's order. In the eyes of the people at that time, this man was more powerful than the emperor. Because even the emperor at that time was supported by this man. This person is our old friend Yang Tinghe, and it is he who troubled Wang Shouren this time. Yang Tinghe can generally be regarded as a good person (relatively speaking), although he also collects black money and favors others, but in the end he still works hard. Zhu Houzhao played outside for the past few years, without him working hard at home, the Ming Dynasty The business has long been closed. But he also has a fatal flaw-narrow-minded and difficult to tolerate. He had a deep conflict with Wang Qiong, Wang Shouren's old superior. Naturally, he would not show mercy to someone like Wang Shouren. Wang Shouren didn't care about such a result. For a person who regards glory as nothing and puts life and death above all else, what is this? He packed up his things and went to Nanjing to take over as Minister of the Ministry of War. History is miraculous. Although Wang Shouren did not fight back against Yang Tinghe's evil, the famous law of the Zhengde period - not to offend Wang Shouren was still useful in the Jiajing period. Mr. Yang Tinghe would not have imagined that he would soon be unlucky. What is incredible is that although Wang Shouren did not participate in the incident that made him unlucky, he also had a great relationship with it. That will be a matter of the future, and Mr. Yang Tinghe will have to wait for a while, but Wang Shouren's misfortune is already in sight. In February of the first year of Jiajing (1522), when Wang Shouren arrived in Nanjing, he learned that his father Wang Hua had passed away. This old gentleman was tortured by Wang Shouren in the first half of his life, but he was proud of him in the second half of his life, and he died with a smile on his face. This incident hit Wang Shouren hard. He left his post and went home to observe his filial piety. Because of his grief, he fell seriously ill. It was this blow and that serious illness that finally made him let go of everything. Father's reprimand, Ge Zhuzi's persistence, Liu Jin's imperial staff, the desolation of Longchang, the joy of enlightenment, the fleeing of grief and indignation, the fighting against rebellion, so many officialdom turmoil, swords, lights and swords, ups and downs, the world will never be the same again Something that can tug at his heartstrings. He could finally calm down and devote himself to his philosophy. Although he is well-known all over the world, he has no airs and travels everywhere to give lectures. No matter whether he is poor or rich, as long as he comes to listen to the lectures, he will treat each other with sincerity, even if these people have other goals. In the first year of Jiajing (1522), a businessman from Taizhou came to Wang Shouren's home. Compared with Wang Shouren, he was just a nobody, but strangely, he attracted the attention of many people. Because the dress of this man is really amazing. According to historical records, he was wearing strange clothes, a paper hat, and holding a wat board in his hand. This dress is not surprising today, but at that time, even leading The trend of the times. He wore this outfit to meet Wang Shouren. Many people didn't know that behind his wild appearance, there was actually another purpose hidden, but he couldn't fool Wang Shouren. Wang Shouren received this man kindly, discussed issues with him, and entertained him for dinner. He admired Wang Shouren's knowledge so much that he wanted to be his disciple, and Wang Shouren agreed. Not long after, he changed into that outfit again, and was going to travel and give lectures. Wang Shouren stopped him suddenly, changed his usual smile, and asked him very coldly why he dressed like this. The answer is still the same old one, what breaking the bad rules of Confucianism, emphasizing the true meaning of psychology and so on. Wang Shouren listened to him quietly, and exposed his disguise with just one sentence: "You just want to be famous." (Yu Xianer) This person was completely stunned. This was indeed his purpose. Before he left, he was afraid that his status would be too low and he would be looked down upon by others. He hoped to use Wang Shouren to expand his reputation, so he came up with such a bad idea to hype himself up. This man is still too immature. You know, Mr. Wang Shouren looks kind and kind, but he is a veteran of deception. When his elder brother came out to deceive people, comrades probably were still wearing crotch pants. Seeing that the trick was exposed, he was too embarrassed to stay any longer. He showed his last bit of dignity, bid farewell to Wang Shouren, and prepared to go home. But Wang Shouren stopped him and told him that he was still his student and could stay here as long as he wanted. This person finally understood that the so-called family background and background had never been in Wang Shouren's consideration. What he had to do was to preach and teach selflessly. He put away all his disguises, bowed solemnly to Wang Shouren, and then changed his mind and devoted himself to learning. This person's name was Wang Gen, and he later became Wang Shouren's best student and created a famous school - Taizhou School. (Wang Gen is from Taizhou) Taizhou School is the first school of ideological enlightenment in the true sense in Chinese history. It carried forward Wang Shouren's thought of mind, opposed the restraint of human nature, and led the trend of ideological liberation in the late Ming Dynasty. This school has great influence, and elites come out in large numbers. The main successors are Wang Dong, Xu Yue, Zhao Zhenji, He Xinyin, etc. The identities of these people are very different. There are all kinds of dragons and snakes. But the most influential of this faction are the other two people, one is called "one of the greatest thinkers in Chinese history, the pioneer of ideological enlightenment and liberation" (official evaluation), called Li Zhi. As for this Mr. Li Zhi, if you haven’t heard of it, it’s not surprising. After all, he is not from the entertainment industry, and his exposure rate is indeed not high, but his reputation in the history of Chinese thought and philosophy is really scary. My dear brother is still a legend, and I will talk about him later, so I won’t say more here. The other person is even more special. This person is not a direct disciple of the Taizhou School, he can only be regarded as a transfer student, but without this person, the history of the Ming Dynasty will be rewritten. The name of this person who influenced history is Xu Jie. This is a heavyweight character, and he is also a candidate for the leading role in the future. He is temporarily reserved as an alternate for the time being. Wang Shouren is a great man. He does not dislike his disciples, does not find fault with his disciples, regardless of whether he is rich or poor, high or low, he treats everyone equally, and imparts what he has learned for decades. He answers questions with an open mind, and always reviews his own shortcomings. . As far as I know, the only one who can do this seems to be the man two thousand years ago——Confucius. He gave lectures everywhere and conquered countless people with his charisma and knowledge, and the trend of Xinxue gradually rose, but his move also caused troubles. The official and authoritative Cheng-Zhu Neo-Confucians finally couldn't tolerate it anymore. In their view, Wang Shouren's "heresy" was like a scourge that would sweep away all norms and order, and they launched attacks one after another. Those who wrote articles wrote articles, and those who wrote memorials wrote memorials (many of them were officials). What's more, the chief examiner of the Central Imperial Examination at that time even took the insinuation of attacking Wang Shouren as a test question, which is unprecedented. , a wonder of the world. The sky is full of wind and rain, and the curses are endless. In a word, if you want to get rid of it, you will be quick. For this "grand event", his disciples were very angry, but Wang Shouren only smiled and said: "Heroes from all over the world have their own similarities and differences, and there are many discussions. What's the use of talking?" This is not just an answer, but also a commentary on Wang Shouren's life. This attitude of his moved more people, because everyone had seen that Wang Shouren was still standing there, poised and composed amidst the frenzy. A person whose heart is like still water, although the bustling world of mortals is already empty. Yes, the trend of progress is unstoppable, just like Wang Shouren's light, even after thousands of years and weathering wind and rain, it will eventually shine among all things in the world. In May of the sixth year of Jiajing (1527), Tianquan Bridge. Wang Shouren stood on the bridge, looking at Qian Dehong and Wang Ji standing in front of him. These two people are his direct disciples, and he is also the successor of his mind. The reason why he called them here at this time is because the last hour is coming. Not long ago, the imperial court received an urgent report that ethnic minorities rebelled in Guangdong and Guangxi. So Mr. Wang Shouren received another job as a firefighter, and he was appointed as the censor of Zuodu to fight the rebellion. At this time, his health was already very poor. After long-term battles and years of running around, he could no longer stand the toss. And at this time, he has become a well-known philosopher and has a high academic reputation, so he can completely refuse this errand. But if he refused, he would not be Wang Shouren. His whole life was for the country and the people.Philosopher Wang decided to take up arms again and go deep into the deep mountains and old forests of Guangdong and Guangxi to climb valleys. But before that, he still has a few words that must be said. Qian Dehong and Wang Ji looked at the teacher solemnly, they were waiting. Wang Shouren broke the silence: "I'm about to go to work, but I will never return to my hometown after this trip. Now is the time of farewell. I hope you will put your heart into learning. I will not be able to teach you any more in the future." Qian Dehong and Wang Ji immediately burst into tears, fell to their knees, and said repeatedly: "Where is the teacher talking! What is the teacher talking about!" Wang Shouren shook his head with a smile: "The matter of life and death, God has its own decree. I am already fifty-six. Life is like this, so there is nothing to worry about, but there is one thing that needs to be explained." Qian Dehong and Wang Ji stopped crying and raised their heads. "After I die, the study of the mind will flourish. I have taught you everything I have learned in my life, but you have not yet grasped the essence of the study of the mind. I have four sentences to pass on to you. What I have learned in my life is all Here, you must understand it with your heart, carry it forward, and benefit the world.” The heaven and the earth are so peaceful, a strong wind blows across the empty Tianquan Bridge, amidst the gusts of wind coming from all around, Wang Shouren chanted loudly: Without saying a word, Qian Dehong and Wang Ji held their breath and wrote down these four sentences. These are the so-called Four Judgments of Mind Science, which have been passed down through the ages and have not declined to this day. After singing, Wang Shouren raised his head to the sky, and walked away while laughing loudly: "Although the world is big, if you have a good intention and a conscience in your heart, even ordinary people can be sages!" Come crying, leave laughing, life should be like this. This is the famous Tianquan theory in the history of Chinese philosophy. Wang Shouren passed on the ups and downs and wisdom of his life to future generations. In this sense, he has completed his mission. But Mr. Wang Shouren cannot retire honorably, because he still has to go to the mountains to suppress bandits. Although Mr. Wang is a philosopher, in some respects he is very similar to the bandits in western Hunan. He is a good citizen when he puts down his gun, and a bandit when he picks up a gun. , Strictly drill. This is actually not contradictory, because Wang Shouren is very clear that it is useless to explain philosophy to the rebels. Only when armed struggle is carried out, the barrel of a gun is the last word. This is wisdom, and this is the true meaning of unity of knowledge and action. However, it is estimated that Mr. Wang Shouren did not expect that his arrival would have any impact on the rebellion. At least he certainly did not know how big his reputation was. After hearing the news that Wang Shouren had come to conquer, the two leaders who led the rebellion immediately reached a consensus-surrender. Mr. Wang is really famous. His glorious career and criminal records have long been known in the streets and alleys. Even the ethnic minorities in the deep mountains and old forests have been famous for a long time. , so they decided to accept the court's recruitment without hesitation. But the two leaders still have a worry. Because of Mr. Wang's bad reputation before (he likes to cheat), the two of them are afraid that they will surrender. What should Mr. Wang do if he turns his face against them and refuses to recognize anyone? But now, the life and death of surrender is uncertain, and if you don't surrender, you will surely die, so let's surrender. In fact, Mr. Wang Shouren is still trustworthy. He will only kill those who are not trustworthy and play tricks. After seeing these two leaders, he ordered them to be dragged out and beaten (a lesson), and then he fulfilled promise. In this way, the Guangdong-Guangzhou turmoil that the imperial court had been tossing for several years had no solution, and Mr. Wang Shouren, a veteran, came out and resolved it immediately. This incident won him more honors, and the court was full of praise, but this last glory also ignited the fire of Wang Shouren's life, and he was going to the end of his life. In October of the seventh year of Jiajing (1528), he had a lung disease attack. When he was dying, he made the last request - go home, go back wherever you came from! But his condition was too serious, and he had to wait for the approval of his superiors. It is estimated that the grave was covered with grass. Wang Shouren made a decisive decision and set foot on the road back to his hometown with a few entourages. But he couldn't go back after all. In November of the seventh year of Jiajing (1528), Wang Shouren arrived in Nan'an, Jiangxi, and could no longer walk. This is his final resting place. Before he died, his disciples gathered around him and asked him if he had any last words. Wang Shouren smiled, pointed his finger to his chest, and left his last words in this world: "This heart is bright, so what can I say." A bird, I know it can fly; a fish, I know it can swim; a beast, I know it can walk.If I fly, I can shoot, if I walk, I can net, and if I swim, I can fish. But dragon, I don't know what to do!The depth of knowledge is unpredictable, and the lofty interests are difficult to know; bend and stretch like a snake, change like a dragon, and the dragon rides the wind and clouds, and can go up to nine days! For Mr. Wang Shouren, I have no other choice but to describe him with this text more than 2,000 years ago. This is the praise he deserves. His philosophy of mind is a wonderful flower in the history of Chinese civilization and a treasure worthy of the pride of each of us. He blew the clarion call for the liberation of human nature and led the trend of ideological liberation in the late Ming Dynasty. Kang Youwei, Sun Yat-sen and others all benefited a lot from it. In addition to China, his mind studies have also traveled across the sea, deeply affecting Japan, South Korea and other East Asian countries. He himself is also regarded as a god and worshiped every day. The general Togo Heihachiro is his loyal fan. Brilliant and prominent, since the Ming Dynasty, there is only one person. Wang Shouren's life was a bright life. He experienced ups and downs, but he was determined. He was in the officialdom, but he cared about the people. He opposed violence and greed, and firmly believed in justice and conscience. great: Wang Shouren is a noble person, a pure person, a moral person, a person who is free from vulgar interests, and a person who is beneficial to the people. He is a true sage, and deservedly so.
