Chapter 16 Chapter Sixteen Fighting

Ji'an, located in the middle of Jiangxi, is easy to defend but difficult to attack, and has convenient transportation. Wang Shouren will raise the banner of counter-insurgency here and prepare for the final decisive battle. Fortunately, Mr. Wang, the prefect guarding Ji'an at that time was a very powerful person, and his name was Wu Wending. Wu Wending, a native of Hubei, was born in a family of officials and eunuchs. He is also a restless master. Although he studied since childhood, he does not look like a scholar. He has been in contact with the dark side of society for a long time, dealt with gangsters and gangsters, and dealt with villains with very cruel methods, which made criminals frightened.

This prefect Wu is about to become Governor Wang's most capable assistant. Wang Shouren and the gang from Linjiang Mansion were rushing towards Ji'an in a hurry, but they were suddenly surrounded by hundreds of soldiers of unknown origin on the way. A group of people were frightened out of their wits. people stood up: "Governor Wang, please come out and speak!" After all, Wang Shouren had seen the world, so he wasn't too afraid, so he walked out openly: "I'm Wang Shouren, who are you?" Only then did the dear friend report his family name: "Hello, Mr. Wang, Wu Wending, the prefect of Ji'an!"

To say that this prefect Wu is quite powerful, when there was a rebellion, almost all the officials in the neighboring yamen ran away, but he didn't move at all. Not only did he not run away, but he also didn't allow others to run away. Killed it with a knife. After such a commotion, the officials in Ji'an reached a consensus: No matter how cruel King Ning is, there is still a certain gap compared with Wu Wending. To be on the safe side, it's better to stay. Not long after, Wu Wending heard that Wang Shouren, the governor of southern Gansu, had come out to put down the rebellion. He was impatient and couldn't care less, so he took 300 soldiers and set out on the road, just in time to meet Wang Shouren.

He was not polite to Mr. Wang either, and said the topic as soon as he opened his mouth: "Is Lord Wang planning to suppress the rebellion?" "good." "Then I congratulate you, sir." This time it was Wang Shouren's turn to wonder, what do you mean? Wu Wending explained in a loud voice: "That guy (this thief, referring to King Ning) has always had a bad reputation, and there are not many people who support him. My lord, you are expected by everyone, and you have military power in your hands. If you make great achievements, you must do it!" This compliment surprised Wang Shouren:

"How do you know that I have military power?" Wu Wending smiled, but he didn't answer the question. A smart guy who could come in handy. This was Wu Wending's first impression on Wang Shouren. In Ji'an, Wang Shouren established the counter-insurgency headquarters and held the first military meeting. Since all the people present at the meeting were small officials such as magistrates and county magistrates, Governor Wang naturally became the commander-in-chief of the counter-insurgency army. Commander Wang immediately made a report on the enemy's situation: According to intelligence, King Ning has a total of 80,000 troops, the elite main force is the guard of the palace, and the rest are bandits, robbers, robbers, underworld hooligans, reactionary societies, dissatisfied with society, etc.

This so-called rebel army is really a veritable miscellaneous army. From this point of view, the situation is not too bad, but the problem is that Commander Wang at this time is a polished commander. He didn't have 80,000 people, not even 8,000. Although with the flag in hand, the army can be summoned, but it will take time.So the most important thing right now is to judge the direction of King Ning's next move. Wang Shouren already has an affirmative answer to this question. He pointed to a place on the map - Nanjing. "He will definitely attack Nanjing." Commander Wang made a detailed analysis on this: Hongdu (Nanchang) is not a place to stay for a long time, and although King Ning is not a smart person, his head is not flooded, and he still can't do such a stupid thing as going north to attack the capital.

So his only choice was to go down the river and attack Nanjing. More importantly, at this time, all regions have not received a unified order to counter the rebellion, and their defenses are insufficient. If King Ning takes advantage of the chaos to launch an attack and conquer Nanjing in one fell swoop, half of the country will inevitably fall into the hands of the rebels. These words moved the following six and seven rank sesame officials. Since the situation is so serious, then stop talking nonsense and attack King Ning quickly. So Commander Wang spoke again: "I don't have enough troops to fight against the rebels. I have to wait for reinforcements from all over the place to come."

So Commander Wang, how long do you need? "At least ten days." "That's why King Ning must wait for me in Nanchang for another ten days." The officials at the meeting were completely blown away. Commander Wang's joke was too big. King Ning is not your son, so you just wait? However, Wang Shouren smiled: "I have my own way." Not long after, a lot of graffiti notices appeared on the street walls of Ning Wang's residence. Of course, they were not advertisements for certificates and invoices. The specific content is roughly as follows: Governor Xu Tai and others led the frontier army, Liu Hui and others led the Beijing army with 40,000 each, and also ordered Jiangnan Wang Shouren, Huguang Qinjin, and Guangdong and Guangxi Yang Dan to lead their troops, a total of 160,000 people, to divide into joint attacks and put down the rebels. Be sure to respond properly along the way, and those who delay will be engaged in military law!

The general meaning of this document is very clear. It is to tell King Ning that I have 160,000 people and I will come to beat you soon. I hope you will prepare well. It must be explained that the names of the people on this document are all true, but the plot is all fictitious. Except for Wang Shouren, the rest of the people don't even know about it. This is Wang Shouren's trick. He forged documents and sent people to distribute them to disrupt King Ning's deployment. Commander Wang has always been considerate in his work. In order to make King Ning feel at ease, he also arranged a more powerful move .

King Ning in Hongdu City knew the news that the so-called army was coming to attack. When he was doubtful, his subordinates suddenly reported that they found some special wax pills on the bodies of the people who entered the city, and there were confidential letters inside. King Ning opened the letter, but was really shocked. The content of the letter is as follows: Mr. Li Shishi and Liu Yangzheng, you have done a good job, and the court will definitely reward you well. Now I hope you will cooperate to persuade King Ning to leave Hongdu and attack Nanjing without delay! The two rare "talents" turned to the enemy, King Ning was still a sensible person, so he didn't really believe it.It so happened that at this time, the subordinates informed that Li Shishi and Liu Yangzheng were visiting.

Mr. Li Shishi cut to the chase, and the first sentence pierced the sky: "Your Highness, it is not suitable to stay here for a long time, you should lead troops to attack Nanjing immediately!" Wang Shouren's lines were written so well, and Li Shishi's cooperation was so seamless, Brother Ning couldn't help but not believe it. Full of confidence, the two military advisers who came to ask for credit thought they would get a passionate answer, but in the end they only saw a pair of suspicious eyes. They left disappointed, but Ning Wang Zhu Chenhao decided on his strategy: Stay in Hongdu, not going anywhere! Fortunate to meet an opponent like Wang Shouren, Mr. Zhu Chenhao can be regarded as unlucky for eight lifetimes. Wang Shouren's strategy succeeded, and he immediately sent emergency documents to various places to gather troops. Commander Wang is really a man of seeking truth from facts. If there is no official document from the court, he will draft it impromptuly. If there is no regular army, he will use the militia. Old and young, sick and disabled, as long as they are individuals and able to walk, he will recruit them all. After all, even if you can't fight, it's good to be strong, wave the flag, and shout a few slogans. Just like this, in just over ten days, he summoned 70,000 to 80,000 people. Although the quality was not very good, he finally managed to make up enough. The grand recruiting scene in front of them made these prefects and counties in Jiangxi start to get hotheaded. Usually they can only manage a few yamen servants who are headed and spanked, but suddenly they have such a big style and so many subordinates. Fight to the death with King Ning. But Commander Wang let them down. Wang Shouren, who was racing against time and hurriedly recruiting troops, suddenly changed his mind. He has tens of thousands of men and his morale is extremely high. No matter how you look at it, this should be the best time to send troops. However, Mr. Wang has eaten the weight. I want to live here permanently, and send people around to repair houses and install furniture, and I only need to apply for a Ji'an temporary residence permit. The prefects and prefects under him were all at a loss. He was the one who was in a hurry more than a dozen days ago, and he is the one who lives in peace now. I don't know what he is up to, but they all know that Commander Wang is not a good stubble. He didn't dare to ask too much, until the day when Wu Wending couldn't bear it anymore, the answer to this mystery was completely revealed. Prefect Wu has a rather irritable temper. Seeing Wang Shouren not moving, he simply went to the door to question: "The army has assembled, why not move?!" Wang Shouren looked at the angry magistrate, but he was not angry, he just replied lightly: "In your opinion, what should you do now?" "Our army's morale is high, we should launch an attack immediately before the enemy's action, and we will definitely defeat the enemy in one fell swoop!" Wang Shouren smiled: "Prefect Wu, have you read the Art of War?" This sentence made Wu Wending so angry that he almost fainted, he replied loudly: "Although this subordinate is a civil servant, he has read military books since he was a child, and he also knows strategic strategies. The so-called surprise, attacking those who are not prepared, this is the best time to attack, absolutely correct!" Then he looked at the other person defiantly, waiting for his reply. Wang Shouren restrained his smile, and replied solemnly: "What you said is true, but it is not the best strategy for a military strategist. The so-called mystery of the art of war, in my opinion, is only eight words." "Don't move your heart, just act randomly." From a comprehensive point of view, these eight characters really sum up the military thinking of Wang's philosopher and commander Wang, and most of his life's military rules are in line with these eight characters. Wang Shouren immediately explained this: The counter-insurgency war should indeed be resolved quickly, but the situation is different now. At first, the enemy is strong and we are weak, so it is necessary to delay the enemy and buy time. Now the strength of our army has greatly increased and we can compete with the enemy. The rebels also know that our army is strong, so they will not dare to move lightly. Moreover, King Ning has run Hongdu for many years, and it is deeply rooted. The longer the time, the greater the disaster. There is no way this is going to work. Now our army can't shrink back, showing weakness to the rebels, so that the main force will attack, and then see the right time to encircle and annihilate them in one fell swoop, and we will surely win a complete victory! Wu Wending, who was always aggressive and ruthless, was convinced. He looked at the man in front of him with awe, and retreated cautiously. He finally understood why Mr. Wang had that famous evaluation—"cunning special soldier". Everything was within Wang Shouren's expectation, and in a few days, the prelude to the decisive battle would officially kick off. In July of the 14th year of Zhengde (1419), King Ning, who had been waiting in Hongdu for more than ten days, finally came to his senses. After such a long time, he didn’t see 160,000 people, or 16 pigs. After the news of the news came, he realized the fact that he had been fooled. But while regretting and panicking, he unexpectedly discovered that Wang Shouren had not launched an attack. He immediately judged that the enemy's troops were insufficient and could only protect himself, so he began to implement the predetermined military plan-to capture Nanjing. It should be said that King Ning's actions were completely within Wang Shouren's expectations, but it turned out that Commander Wang still miscalculated a bit, and it was this negligence that almost killed him completely. Because although Ning Wang Zhu Chenhao is not a smart person, he is a fast-moving person. Comrade Zhu Chenhao said the same thing, he led the 60,000 main force to conquer without tying the quilts. This gang of miscellaneous troops was really not in vain. They captured Jiujiang in just one day. Important place - Anqing. Here comes the greatest danger. Anqing is located at the upper reaches of Nanjing. Those who have used troops along the Yangtze River since ancient times, if they attack Anqing, Nanjing must be in their pockets.During the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom in later generations, Zeng Guoquan, Zeng Guofan's younger brother, stormed Anqing City. Although he lost troops and generals for a long time, he refused to leave until he collapsed the city wall and occupied the city. Soon after, he led his army down the river, captured Nanjing in one fell swoop, and the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom was destroyed. Although Zhu Chenhao didn't know Zeng Guofan and Hong Xiuquan, he also understood this common sense of geography. The day the army arrived in Anqing City, he gave the general attack order. Tens of thousands of troops surrounded Anqing tightly and attacked day and night. There is the right time and the right place, but it is a pity that there is no harmony. Speaking of Zhu Chenhao's bad luck, he always met some troublesome people on the road of rebellion. In Jiangxi, there were Sun Sui and Wang Shouren, and when he arrived in Anqing, he met Yang Rui and Zhang Wenjin. Yang Rui is the governor, and Zhang Wenjin is the magistrate of Anqing. They adopted a unified way of entertaining the uninvited King Ning——guns, bows and arrows.About these two people, I won't go into details, just introduce one thing these two have done, so that you can have a general understanding of their personality. King Ning's attack on Anqing City was unfavorable for several days, so he called a surrender official named Pan Peng to the city to persuade him to surrender.Brother Ning reckoned that for the sake of fellow countrymen, the defenders in the city should give him two points of face. This is a relatively stupid idea. You have blocked the army at the gate of other people's cities, and you still count on the feelings of fellow villagers? Brother Pan Peng is not stupid. He still wants to live for two more days, but the leader's intention cannot be violated. In desperation, he sent a relative to the city to surrender, and what happened next is a bit sensational. Brother Yang Rui is really not polite. He didn't even read the letter of persuasion, so he chopped off the relatives of fellow Pan with a single knife. Breaking off, throwing down the city tower to show the public, such a terrifying scene is rare in today's horror movies. Things like chopping people up and dismembering their corpses are indeed a bit shocking, but brother Yang Rui is a military officer after all, and it's not the first time to kill people. It's not surprising that he has some psychological problems, so it's basically normal for him to have this incident. But the other prefect Zhang Wenjin was different. He was a civil servant since he was a child. He was vicious and vicious, but he did not fall behind. Yang Rui killed people in front of him. Take it out and cut it clean. When fellow Pan heard about it, he immediately vomited blood and fainted. Seeing the vicious methods of the two city defenders, the defenders in the city were all terrified and frightened. They all expressed their willingness to fight to the death to defend the city, and their morale was boosted for a while. King Ning outside the city couldn't figure out the situation, and he didn't understand why the persuasion to surrender had the opposite effect. He had no choice but to go out to supervise the battle himself to boost morale. However, under the threat of death (mainly from the two adults Yang and Zhang), the soldiers in the city desperately resisted, and the rebels made little progress. More than ten days have passed, and King Ning is still standing outside the city looking at Anqing. He is so anxious that he can only find Liu Yangzheng and yell at him: "You bastards! You can't even conquer Anqing, so what are you talking about Jinling (that is, Nanjing)!" This road is blocked, but there is no other way, so after scolding, King Ning still wants to continue to supervise the battle and attack the city. At this moment, he understands why the old ancestor Zhu Quan was bullied to his home, but he still swallowed his anger—rebellion is really a hard job. . While King Ning was gnawing bricks in Anqing City, Mr. Wang Shouren's place was already in chaos. When the news came that King Ning's troops were approaching the city of Anqing, Commander Wang was so panicked that he jumped out of bed and ran barefoot to look at the map. It was so fast.In desperation, he immediately ordered the army to assemble and prepare to go. But after a short period of panic, Commander Wang suddenly regained his composure. He withdrew the order to send troops, but sent more people to inquire about the news. homely. Due to previous lessons, Commander Wang's subordinates did not dare to pretend to be smart, and no one asked why, and the news that came out not long after also verified the wise decision of the Commander--An Qing is still holding on, and there is no worry for the time being. Now the stone in everyone's heart was considered to have fallen to the ground, and they all went home to sharpen their knives and guns, and waited for Commander Wang to call, and hit wherever they pointed. But Wang Shouren didn't seem to intend to make people calm down in his life. He, who has always been a soldier, even said that he would hold a meeting to listen to the opinions of the masses. Since Commander Wang was going to have a meeting, everyone had no choice but to join in the fun. This was the most important military meeting during the Ningwang Rebellion. Wang Shouren analyzed the situation and said that there are currently two goals, one is to rescue Anqing, and the other is to attack Nanchang, the enemy's old nest, and asked the participants to express their opinions. Surprisingly, there was no debate at this meeting, because everyone agreed that going to Anqing was the only choice. The reason is very good: King Ning has been preparing for the rebellion for many years, and Nanchang's defense is very tight. If he attacked the city rashly, it would be difficult to attack for a while, but he failed to attack Anqing, and his morale was very low. A pincer attack will inevitably be defeated in one fell swoop, and Nanchang will be defeated by then. It is really well-organized, the facts are clear, and the evidence is conclusive. No matter how you look at it, this conclusion is correct. Finally, Commander Wang made a concluding speech: "wrong." "Only attack Nanchang." This was Commander Wang's judgment. Since he always had a different opinion from others, everyone was not too surprised. They just kept their eyes wide open, hoping to see what tricks Commander Wang could play this time. "Your views are wrong. Nanchang is upstream of Anqing. If our army crosses Nanchang and directly attacks Anqing, the Nanchang defenders will inevitably attack the rear of our army, cutting off our army's food supply. If you can protect yourself, how can you attack the enemy back and forth with our army?" Of course, there are still questions from the audience: "The city of Nanchang is strong, how can we take it all at once?" Regarding this question, Commander Wang already had a lot of ideas in his mind: "Haven't you guys analyzed the military situation? This time King Ning led the whole army to attack Anqing, and Nanchang must be very empty. Attacking at this time is naturally sure!" "Once Nanchang is broken, King Ning will definitely come back to rescue him. He doesn't care about each other. It doesn't take long for the rebels to be defeated!" Wang Shouren is talented, so talented. Because he made the right judgment. In the Yamen of the Ministry of War, the highest military decision-making body in the Ming Dynasty, there was such a frightening saying-"If you dare to make trouble, you will be sent to Fangsi!" Once this sentence is uttered, ordinary military officials will immediately be convinced and work honestly. This can be described as a great mystery: the Ministry of War has four divisions, similar to the bureau-level units of the central ministries and commissions today, and the reason why the Zhifang Division is so famous is that it has a very special evaluation in the officialdom of the Ming Dynasty—— The poorest and the busiest. But it is the poorest and busiest yamen that plays the most important role in military warfare. Because the main duties of this so-called staff division are to make judgments based on the military situation, formulate military plans, and conduct military overall planning. It is roughly equivalent to today's General Staff, and the highest official of the staff department is Lang Zhong, which is equivalent to the Chief of General Staff. This position sounds very prestigious, but many people refuse to take it even if they are beaten to death, and there is no time to hide. The reason is very simple, it can be summed up in six words - no oil and water, blame the blame. Being an official for thousands of miles is only for money. If you can't get money, who has the motivation to risk your life to do it?What's more terrible is that the benefits of this position are extremely small, and the risks are extremely high. For example, Wang Shouren once served as the head (equivalent to the director) of the Military Selection Department, which is a famous fat yamen under the Ministry of War. It is responsible for the selection and transfer of military generals. There is good wine, good meat, good entertainment, and you can get paid for promoting a person. Even if this person cannot fight, it is his own problem in the final analysis, and it will not be pursued by the personnel department. The staff department is different. Not only does it have no money to earn, it lives on dead wages, and it has to make correct military judgments and draw up plans based on this. Yes, there is no escape at all. But the most interesting and cruel thing in war is judgment. The famous generals inside don’t have to worry about judging, because their victory or defeat is determined by heaven. For example, Brother Cao Cao can conclude that Mr. Liu Bei will come to rob the camp at night when he sees the strong wind blowing down the handsome flag in his camp. If this is true, young people who aspire to serve the country will no longer need to study military books. Unfortunately, before the invention of the time machine, it is impossible for any party on the battlefield to predict the opponent's strategy and the outcome of the war. Predictions can be made based on various clues and battlefield experience. Of course, according to historical records, some generals who are really undecided will use the last trick - fortune-telling. But no matter how shrewd or stupid you are, in the end you will always come up with your own judgment on the battlefield, where to fight, when to fight, where to defend, and how to defend. So the moment that best embodies the mystery of the art of war has finally come. A thousand commanders may have a thousand judgments, and what is ironic is that before the outcome of the war is announced, these thousand judgments seem to be correct and There are solid reasons and evidence. But the perfect math problem of war has only one correct answer. Wang Shouren gave up Anqing, which seemed extremely correct, and decided to attack Nanchang. The subsequent development of the situation proved that his choice was correct. But Wang Shouren, who was recognized by everyone, was still uneasy, because he knew that there was still a huge variable in this plan-after capturing Nanchang, King Ning did not return his troops to rescue, but instead captured Anqing with all his strength and went straight to Nanjing ,What should I do? I can't control that much anymore, attack Nanchang first! In July of the 14th year of Zhengde (1519), Wang Shouren formally launched an army. He issued the King Qin's military order to the whole of Jiangxi, and led the army directly under him to march day and night, and soon arrived at Linjiang Mansion, where he once again joined the "Rebel Army" from Linjiang, Ganzhou, and Yuanzhou (the composition was extremely complicated, most of them gangsters), with a total strength of more than 80,000 troops.Without stopping, Wang Shouren ordered the army to speed up and approach the final target. Nanchang, on July 17th, Wang Shouren stood outside the city, looking at the fortified city. A month ago, he escaped from here, full of grief and indignation, and ran for his life alone. A month later, he came back here with a strong army and a strong army. In any case, the time for closure has finally arrived. As far as this is concerned, it should be fought, but everyone should not forget that the commander of this army is Mr. Wang Shouren. Commander Wang naturally has the style of Commander Wang to lead the troops. But before the battle, if he does not do something about himself The characteristic (conspiracy and intrigue) will not stop. First of all, he sent people to spread the word everywhere, with great fanfare, saying that he had 300,000 people under his command (dare to brag), and specifically stated that these were all elite troops transferred from Fujian and Guangdong, and they were by no means the mob in the rumors (the rumors are true) . After causing the defenders to panic, he dispatched a large number of spies to escape the supervision of the urban management by taking advantage of people's unpreparedness, and illegally posted advertisements in Nanchang city in the dark, admonishing the citizens of Nanchang not to meddle in their own business, close their doors and sleep peacefully , Hear noises in the street, don't mind your own business. This series of actions of his not only made the enemy panic, but even his own people were in the dark. If he wants to hit you, he will hit you. It's not that he doesn't have soldiers and equipment. Is it necessary to play dirty tricks? Wang Shouren thinks it is necessary. His art of war is to use the smallest price in exchange for the greatest victory. It is his philosophy of war to never tire of deception. In addition to using the above tactics, he also selected a special attack time-late night. Because he never thought about fighting hard at all, he had already prepared a large number of siege ladders as early as the march, and only waited for the dead of night to send elite personnel to use the ladders to raid the city wall and seize the city.In order to ensure the success of the ascent of the city, Wang Shouren also sent people to prepare siege equipment at the same time, sneaked into the vicinity of the city gate, prepared to attract the attention of the defenders, and cooperated with the soldiers who ascended the city. After everything was prepared, he summoned all his subordinates and held a special mobilization meeting. Although Wang Shouren is very witty, he is also kind to others on weekdays, so people often call him Old Wang behind his back. But at the meeting, the always kind-hearted old king suddenly turned into the king of Hades, and gave the final order with a murderous look on his face: "This siege, I will personally supervise the battle, and I am determined to take it! One drum order, attach the city! Two drum orders, ascend the city! Three drum orders, fail to ascend the city, kill the army! Four drum orders, fail to ascend the city, kill the general !" The venue was completely silent, everyone looked pale, and reached a consensus on this - Commander Wang is really not a kind person. It was time to prepare, and it was time to play tricks. Wang Shouren sat upright, waiting for the night's attack. But even he never expected that his pre-war warm-up exercises had unexpected effects. In the middle of the night, the night attack officially began. Wang Shouren gave an order, and the soldiers lurking under the city and at the gate of the city immediately mobilized, attacking the city gate and climbing the city wall. But a strange thing happened, the troops ascending the city were not blocked, and many people arrived at the top of the city very smoothly. The people who climbed the wall were wondering, but an even more dumbfounding thing happened on the side of the city gate. A few soldiers touched the city gate carefully, and after careful inquiry, they were stunned. It took a long time to recover and shouted at the brothers who were climbing the wall: "Stop climbing up, come down! The door is open!" Wang Shouren in the distance was also at a loss, what kind of reserve team and rescue team are useless at all, the city is occupied, what kind of battle is this fighting? He was still afraid of an ambush, but later found out that the defenders had already escaped completely. He only found out after asking someone, because his brother's previous propaganda work was so good that the people in the city had already made up their minds to escape. Before they could attack, they fled away one after another. So when Wang Shouren entered the city, the trouble he encountered was not the rebels, but his own subordinates. Due to time constraints and the heavy task of recruiting soldiers, there were also many rogues and robbers among his subordinates. These people were always good at looting houses. This is not bad!Commander Wang was furious, arrested a few leaders (there were too many robbers), beheaded them for public display, and then stabilized their position. Nanchang has arrived. But Wang Shouren showed a trace of nervousness that didn't match the current victory. He still had one thing that worried him most. Two days later, Wang Shouren's spies reported that King Ning had led all the main forces back, ready to come to a decisive battle, and would soon arrive in Nanchang. When the news came, the subordinates were very worried. Although Nanchang was occupied, the foundation was not stable. If they fought with the main force of the rebel army, the outcome would be unpredictable. Wang Shouren smiled, because the last problem that troubled him was finally solved. When King Ning heard the news of the fall of Nanchang, he was supervising the battle on the battlefield. At the critical moment, Liu Yangzheng and Li Shishi finally demonstrated their own value. They expressed their opposition with one voice, and proposed the plan that worried Wang Shouren the most-ignore Nanchang, attack Anqing to death, and go straight to Nanjing! Although this road may not work, it is the only feasible way at present. If King Ning adopted this plan, even if he could not become the emperor in the end, at least he would be able to make a fuss longer. It's a pity that with his ability, he really couldn't accept and absorb this rationalization suggestion, so he could only meet his fate on Poyang Lake in the end. On July 23rd in the fourteenth year of Zhengde (1519), Ning Wang Zhu Chenhao led his army to retreat from Anqing and arrived at Huangjiadu on the west side of Poyang Lake, where he would face the opponent who had slipped away from him for the first time—— Wang Shouren. King Ning was about to come. Others didn't know the two brushes of his army, but his subordinates knew it well, so they all suggested picking earth and stones to strengthen the city defense. However, Wang Shouren didn't seem to be worried about the thickness of the city wall, because he didn't intend to defend. "Although there are many enemy troops, they are not good at attacking the city and their morale is low. Our army has cut off its retreat, and we will use the righteous army to fight against the unrighteous enemy. God will help me! I hope you will be united and defeat the enemy with sharp troops. In one fell swoop!" Let's stop here, Zhu Chenhao, you have killed too many innocent people for your own ambitions and desires, this should be over. On the same day that King Ning arrived at Huangjiadu in Poyang Lake, Wang Shouren also led the main force of the army here, camped on the opposite bank, and prepared for the final battle. In the twenty-three years of Zhizheng (1363), Zhu Yuanzhang fought to the death with Chen Youliang, the greatest enemy in his life, in Poyang Lake. He won a complete victory and cleared the biggest obstacle on the way to seize the world. One hundred and fifty-two years later, Poyang Lake, which had fought fiercely for thirty-six days, was filled with flames, and countless corpses were about to become the stage for a decisive battle. The battle between two people a hundred years ago finally determined the ownership of the world and the fate of countless people. It seems to be the same this time. But unlike the previous one, this is indeed a war between good and evil. Because the two parties to the war have different purposes and wills - one is for power and status, and the other is to save countless innocent lives. The decisive battle is about to begin, let's first introduce the main players of both sides, because these are really two very interesting lineups. Zhu Chenhaofang Commander in Chief: Zhu Chenhao Pioneer: Ling Shiyi (Bandit) Chinese Army: Min Twenty-Four (sea bandits), etc. Rear Army Response: Wu Shisan (robber), Wang Lun (deceased official), etc. Staff: Li Shishi, Liu Yangzheng Wang Shourenfang Commander in Chief: Wang Shouren Pioneer: Wu Wending (prefect of Ji'an) Central Army: Dai Deru (prefect of Linjiang), Xing Xun (prefect of Ganzhou), etc. Rear Army: Hu Yaoyuan (General Judge), Xu Wenying (Tui Guan), Wang Mian (County Magistrate), etc. If you are still waiting for the famous player to play, then you will be disappointed.Xu Da, Chang Yuchun, Zhang Dingbian and others who fought here more than a hundred years ago have already become legendary figures.Except for Wang Shouren, most of the others who participated in this battle were not well-known. Again, you don't need to memorize any of the names listed above, because most of them have no chance to show their faces, just put on a pose to show their identity. Summarizing the identity formations of the "generals" of the two sides, the confrontation situation can be roughly summarized as-rogue robbers vs. scholar-officials. There is no way this can be done, it happened too suddenly, both sides rushed into the battle, there are really not many talents who can take action, so we can only make do with it, please forgive me. But although this battle of Poyang Lake is not as grand as it was a hundred years ago, it is more interesting. Because in addition to the funny lineups of the two sides, the armies of the two sides also contain a common characteristic-there are many rogues. In fact, this is also a question worthy of study in Chinese history. As mentioned before, due to the tight schedule, both sides did not go through political review when recruiting troops, and there are a large number of rogue robbers in the army, but this is by no means just a characteristic of the two armies. If we carefully analyze the historical materials, we will find an interesting and common phenomenon in history - the rogueization of the army (or the rogue militaryization). In the Spring and Autumn Period, joining the army and fighting used to be the monopoly of nobles. In those days, generals had to prepare their own weapons and equipment, and there were not many people who could afford to fight, so the quality of soldiers was relatively high. But as the scale of the war became larger and larger, the rate of death also increased. It was no longer possible to rely on voluntary actions. Civilians and even prisoners were also incorporated into the army, and then standing armies and mercenaries appeared. In the Tang and Song dynasties, the country's standing army system became more and more perfect. For example, in the Song Dynasty, it cost a lot of money to raise soldiers for a long time, but they were often beaten to pieces. One of the reasons was the problem of the military system. At that time, there was no such policy as the honor of joining the army and preferential treatment for members of the army. Once joining the army, it was almost a lifelong career, and there was no such thing as changing jobs and leaving the army.Don't you see that the criminal committed a crime, and he was tattooed and sent to the army for hundreds of miles at every turn.It can be seen that being a soldier at that time was really not a good job. Out of consideration for the future, most of the aspiring young people at that time went to study and become officials, but there were more and more hooligans in the army who were idle and wanted to make a living. This group of people is not good at fighting, but they are very strong in bullying the common people, and they don't obey the command. Naturally, it is difficult to count on the combat effectiveness of such an army. For example, once, a high-ranking general of the Imperial Army (Central Army) of the Song Dynasty was ordered to go to war, but he was assigned to such a group of disobedient and reckless bums. Political work and patriotic education were not very useful, and these people were not afraid of him. In desperation, he actually came up with a bad plan, inviting a group of rogues to come to his barracks to start a game of gambling, and instructing these people to spend thousands of money to defraud the gang of rogue soldiers under him. After coming and going, the soldiers lost all their money and owed their gambling debts. You know, the hooligans also have to pay off their gambling debts. At this time, he made a brilliant appearance and encouraged everyone to fight bravely. The debt is paid. Just pulling and cheating like this, it can be regarded as inviting these uncles to the battlefield. In fact, we don’t need to discriminate against gangsters and robbers. The combat effectiveness of these brothers is still very strong, and some successful people can still make contributions and go down in history. Among these people, the most famous one was Chang Yuchun. Of course, although there are many hooligans in the army, good militias still exist. If Chang Yuchun is a model of hooligans, then the number one general Xu Da is the representative of good militias. These are all available in the archives. For example, Xu Da, a "world farmer" recorded in history, was an honest farmer before the revolution.Look at Chang Yuchun again: "I started as a bandit from Liu Ju", the bandit background is really extraordinary. everything is over.
