Chapter 20 Chapter 19 Injustice

This is an unjust case, but its influence and scope are so wide that it is really rare. Let’s first talk about the time when this case happened. According to the records of "Criminal Law", this case happened in the fifteenth year of Hongwu (1382), but according to the records of the parties involved in this case, the real time of occurrence was in the ninth year of Hongwu (1376). At present, this problem has not been confirmed. This article adopts the statement of the ninth year of Hongwu. The reason for the case is as follows. The Ming Dynasty stipulated that all localities should send people to the Ministry of Households to report the local financial accounts every year, and the local accounts must be completely consistent with the audited by the Ministry of Households, so that the local financial plan for this year can be completed. If it is not correct, even if it is only a single number, the accounts must be refilled. What is even more embarrassing is that all rewritten account books must be stamped with the seal of the original yamen to be valid.

It seems that this regulation is not difficult to implement now, but it was difficult at the time. You know, there were no highways or railways at that time, and the prefectures and counties had to send envoys to the capital with account books. The first condition for these emissaries is good health, because the journey is very hard. There are no cars or trains for you to ride. You have to ride horses, boats, and horses again, and sometimes you may even do some mountaineering. For example, if you are an official in a certain place in Guangxi, it will take a month or two at the earliest to think about the capital.Even if you set off on the first day of the new year, it will be at least early spring and March when you arrive in Beijing.Sweating profusely, he ran to the household department and checked it, and there was a wrong number.

Alright, don't say anything, brother, you go back, I'll wait for you. So he ran all the way again, first riding a horse, then taking a boat, and went back to change the account books and stamp the official seal.I will go too! That's four months passed, and it was already summer in a blink of an eye. They rushed to the capital and met again. Brother, you are finally here. I have been waiting for you for a long time, so come on. This guy is out of luck. After checking, I found that there is still something wrong. Don’t say anything, let’s go back. Remember to wear more clothes next time you come here. It’s cold here in winter!

So I rushed back again, I rushed back, this time it was checked, but it’s almost the second year, so don’t go back, let’s celebrate the New Year here, the plan should be done again. The basic situation is like this, no one can bear it if you always toss about it.After analysis, the officials found that the key problem lies in the link of stamping, because paper and pens are ready-made, and if the account book is wrong, it can be corrected, but you cannot take the stamp with you. If you take the stamp, the official will never be able to Take the radish and engrave the official document. At that time, few people dared to do the business of privately engraving the official seal on the street, so they had an idea, wouldn't it be enough to bring the blank booklet with the stamped letter prepared in advance?

In this way, carrying blank printed documents became an unacceptable rule at that time, and everyone in the court knew it, except for one person. Unfortunately, this person is Zhu Yuanzhang. In the ninth year of Hongwu, Zhu Yuanzhang suddenly discovered this so-called secret. Right under his nose, officials dared to engage in such tricks! Outraged, he thought he had been taken advantage of, so he sent officials to investigate the matter exhaustively. Ordinarily, as long as there is an investigation, this problem is not difficult to explain. In fact, even the officials he sent to investigate know the ins and outs of the whole incident, but a strange phenomenon has appeared. Everyone knows the cause of the incident, but no one said it. .

So such a funny scene appeared, and the officials who asked the question knew it, and the officials who answered the question knew it too, only Zhu Yuanzhang didn't know it. This phenomenon is not difficult to explain - officials are afraid. If you submit a letter of defense, it is very likely that you will be regarded as an accomplice or cover-up. Who can bear the blame. At this moment, a brave man stepped forward. What is admirable is that he is not an official in office, but just an ordinary student. In a way, he is just a common man. This person is Zheng Shili, he has no background, no backer, just relying on his own courage, just to tell the truth.

He wrote a very long letter to Zhu Yuanzhang by using the channel where ordinary people could directly write letters at that time. This letter is also very famous in history. As soon as the paper is printed, the figures of money and food are different and must be checked one by one, so it is difficult to determine. The reason for the blank print is explained. In fact, Zheng Shili is not only daring to speak out, but also a smart person. He estimated that Zhu Yuanzhang might be ashamed to admit his mistakes, so at the end of the article, he excused Zhu Yuanzhang and wrote: In fact, you are also for the good of the common people. You are afraid that corrupt officials will take the opportunity to misappropriate these things. The empty printing paper is used to harm the common people (fearful officials have to use the empty printing paper to abuse the people for the purpose of writing), and you are also doing it for the good of the people.

According to Zheng Shili's meaning, that is: You, the emperor, are right, and the ministers are also right. Of course, I am also wrong, and everyone is right. Misunderstanding, misunderstanding! The reward Zhu Yuanzhang gave him was to send him to reform through labor. Because Zheng Shili took Zhu Yuanzhang too simply, Zhu Yuanzhang was not a confused person, nor was he a person who refused to admit his mistakes. In fact, from his countless eyes and ears, it is easy for him to know the truth. If he couldn't even figure out this question, the Ming Dynasty would not have the surname Zhu.

So why is he still punishing these officials? The real reason is in his heart. Zhu Yuanzhang has never trusted those officials, which is inseparable from his childhood experience. He deeply understands the ability of these officials to engage in selfishness and fraud. In his opinion, these people are unreliable. work. Analyzing all aspects, the reason why Zhu Yuanzhang was so moved by the air seal case was that he believed that these officials underestimated his power, and dared to affix the seal in private without asking him for instructions. This is flouting his authority. What a big dog!To be lazy and to use power privately, today you put your seal on the document without my permission, if you allow you, tomorrow you will put your seal on my head!If you don't rectify it all at once, you won't be able to do it.

Zheng Shili was punished to do hard work. As an ordinary person, he had no opportunity to see the majesty of the royal family, and he was not blessed to enjoy the glory of being an official. He had nothing, but he accomplished his personal feat with his own courage.Because of his heroic deeds, this ordinary man who was neither a relative of the emperor nor a famous minister was recorded in the history of the Ming Dynasty. In his "History of Ming Dynasty Zheng Shili Biography", what we see is courage. Such people will not be forgotten by us. Compared with the officials who were convicted in the empty printing case, Zheng Shili was lucky.

Now that the case has been determined, the next step is punishment. The problem is that almost all prefectures and counties in the country have empty seals. It is impossible to kill all prefectural and county officials. This is another problem, but for Zhu Yuanzhang, there seems to be no problem that he can't solve. He can always do things that others can't think of. Others think that he can never kill all the officials involved in the case, but he really did it. Officials, no matter where you are, whether it is the end of the world or the cape, mountains or plains, prosperous or barren environment, you will be treated the same. Before we announce the punishment results, let me talk about the administrative structure of the country at that time. There were 13 provinces, more than 140 prefectures, and more than 1,000 counties in the country. Many officials in these provincial capitals and counties were related to the empty printing case. . The punishment is as follows: all the officials of the main seal are killed, and one hundred sticks are sent to the army by the deputy. In addition, even the officials of the procuratorates in various provinces were often convicted because of ineffective supervision. This is a veritable sweep. Usually, they compete for who is the best official. This is a good thing. If you are a deputy, you can go to the army, but you have to lose your head if you are a principal. It is really the saying that the greater the ability, the greater the responsibility. In this air seal case, many good officials who were known as clean and honest were also killed. The most famous one is the eternal loyal minister Fang Xiaoru and his father Fang Keqin. This man worked as the prefect in Jining, Shandong. He was reluctant to eat more, and his clothes were covered with patches, just because he was the chief seal officer, he lost his head in a daze. But it should be explained that the number of officials killed in the Kongyin case is controversial. Some historical materials record tens of thousands of dead, which should be inaccurate, because Zhu Yuanzhang only dealt with officials with palm seals, and he did not kill deputy officials. However, Zhu Yuanzhang is not the murderer people imagined, he has a clear political mind.He would not do such stupid things as killing all officials. From a comprehensive analysis of the empty printing case, it can be seen that the case has nothing to do with the eradication of corruption.A workaround adopted by officials due to the convenience of their work turned into a big case. And when everyone knew it well and someone wrote a letter to explain the truth, Zhu Yuanzhang continued to deal with the case, which is worth our deep thinking. Zhu Yuanzhang's behavior can probably be explained by a sentence shouted by the yamen guard when Li Qin Shubao entered the cell: "If you come into the cell, I will hit you with a hundred killing sticks first to see if you are not honest!" This killing power stick is really ruthless. The scale and ostentation of the Kongyin case can only be regarded as the younger brother among the four Hongwu cases, and the following case is regarded as the big brother level, and that is where it really went, and it was swept away. This case is different from the previous case, in that there is indeed a corruption issue, but it involves a wide range of cases and has such a great impact, which is indeed rare in corruption cases, and there are indeed many doubts in this case. What happened was like this. In March of the 18th year of Hongwu (1385), Yu Shi Yu Min and Ding Tingju reported that Beiping's chief envoy, Zhao Quande, an official of the procuratorate, and others conspired with the household servant Guo Huan for corruption. In "Da Hao", the method and quantity of Guo Huan's corruption are listed in detail, which is really shocking to read.It is necessary for us to list them (please read carefully, there are doubts in them), the corruption behaviors include: 1. Guo Huan privately divided the taxes of Taiping, Zhenjiang and other prefectures, that is to say, Zhu Yuanzhang did not receive the money and food from these places, and Guo Huan swallowed them all privately. 2. Guo Huan privately divided the autumn grain in western Zhejiang. The specific figures are as follows. Back then, the money and grain in western Zhejiang was 4.5 million shi. Guo Huan only handed over 2 million dan to Zhu Yuanzhang, and he divided the rest privately. 3. When Guo Huan and others collected taxes, they cleverly set up names and creatively collected various taxes: including water foot money, car foot money, food money, treasury money, bamboo basket money, bamboo basket money, god Buddha money, etc. . Finally, the general ledger was calculated, and he and his party had embezzled more than 24 million shi of grain in total. From this point of view, Guo Huan was indeed bold and reckless. He colluded with other officials for corruption, and Zhu Yuanzhang did not let his comrades go.So who are Guo Huan's accomplices? After Zhu Yuanzhang's investigation, most of the officials in the six departments have become Guo Huan's accomplices! They include Zhao Hao, Minister of the Ministry of Rites (Ritual Law), Wang Huidi, Minister of the Ministry of Punishment (Ministry of Justice), Wang Zhi, Minister of the Ministry of War (Ministry of Defense), and Mai Zhide, Minister of the Ministry of Industry (Ministry of Construction). Please note that this list is very long. According to the "Criminal Law Records", at that time, except for the senior officials listed above, all officials below the minister (deputy minister) were killed. This means that in the six ministries at that time, all officials in each ministry were killed except for one minister (minister) and two ministers (deputy ministers) (except those listed above). The minister at that time really became a polished commander, and the officials fell into fear. The first sentence they said when they met should be "How many of you died today?" There are three people left. These are the central government officials, as well as the local management officials. The food is sent from the province. If you look down, you will find the prefectures and counties. Most of these people were also killed. A total of more than 30,000 people were killed in this case. As a result, "most of the middle-class families of the common people were destroyed", which can be regarded as sweeping away the whole court. From this point of view, we have to admire the officials who survived the Guo Huan case. It's not easy. How could you be missed? While telling historical events, I will also introduce some historical analysis methods, of course, in my way. For the analysis of the Guo Huan case, we will use a method similar to solving the case, I believe everyone will be interested. Next, please pick up your own pipes and start investigating the crime scene. The above list is the records of historical materials, which is what we call the scene of the crime. Please note that not all historical materials are credible. Among these materials, there are many contradictions. You lead astray on the same thread. But as long as you analyze carefully, you can find out the truth. In fact, a very important job of historians is to find the truth from these contradictory materials. Here is another important tool for solving crimes, which is also one of the most important principles in history, that is, when you read historical materials, you must take into account the background of the writer, because this also more or less determines the history of the book. Propensity.I believe that if it is not for self-abuse, there are still a small number of people who write books and scold themselves. We will let everyone analyze the historical materials of this case. This is the scene of the crime. Can you see any doubts from it? If you're still thinking, don't read my conclusions yet. The following is my own analysis, for your reference only. In my opinion, there are at least two doubts: 1. There should be a certain problem with the amount of corruption. Why do you say that? Everyone should know that the annual income of the Ming Dynasty was only more than 24 million shi grains. After Zhu Yuanzhang had just dealt with Hu Weiyong and had established Jinyiwei, Guo Huan But for a servant, why did Bao Tian dare to act so recklessly, and the amount of corruption can match the annual income of the Ming Dynasty? And we have already introduced before that at that time, the efforts to suppress corruption were so great that corrupt officials fled after hearing the news. Even if they were in a remote area, they were corrupt during the day and were accused at night. Guo Huan and others were under Zhu Yuanzhang's eyes, and countless spies came and went every day Well, his brother actually dared to embezzle the public grains of several provinces! After Zhu Yuanzhang abolished the prime minister, he would personally handle many small matters. If there were millions of shi grains that were not stored in the warehouse, Zhu Yuanzhang would have jumped up and cursed people. Why wait until the censor reported it? 2. If we look at the famous corruption cases in history, we will find that the fewer people involved in corruption, the better. It is safe and gives more money.Guo Huan is just a servant of the household department. How could he cooperate with people from the Ministry of Rites, Ministry of Punishment, Ministry of War, Ministry of Industry, and Ministry of Officials if he wanted to embezzle food? Could it be that he felt that too few people knew about his embezzlement and wanted to advertise himself? In any case, Guo Huan had a good time. As a small servant, the number of his accomplices broke the record kept by Prime Minister Hu Weiyong. Although this record is not glorious. On the whole, there are a lot of doubts in this case, but this does not mean that the case is nothing. Guo Huan’s corruption is very likely to exist, but the number is not so large, and the so-called accomplices are not so large. That's all, otherwise why Zhu Yuanzhang didn't look for Zhang San and Li Si, but he wanted to find you Guo Huan. If you have more discoveries, then congratulations, you have embarked on the path of rational analysis of history.Historical doubts will always exist, and the analysis we have made here is only the opinion of one family, and cannot draw a definite conclusion to the Guo Huan case, at best it is just an inference. The important thing is, if you can gain something from this method of analysis, please believe that the key to unlocking the fog of history is not far away from you. The Guo Huan case was finally over. Ironically, the last person killed in this case was the presiding judge of the case, Wu Yong, the right judge who killed countless officials. After this series of major cases, the officials in the DPRK and China were as frightened as birds, and worried that their heads would not be safe every day. On the belly means today is safe and sound. If you judge in this way, there will be problems. If Zhu Yuanzhang eats too much one day, his stomach is bloated, the jade belt can only be placed on his belly, and he is in a bad mood, the officials will suffer. According to historical records, every day when officials go to court, they have to hold a ceremony at the door of their house. What kind of ceremony is it? Dress neatly, hug their wives and children, and explain who owes me how much debt, my private money is hidden under the bed and other funeral affairs , and then said goodbye, his wife and children were crying behind his back, except that the person was still alive, which was no different from holding a memorial service. When the dynasty is over, the wife and children are waiting at the door of the house. If they see a living person coming home, they will celebrate it. The content of the celebration is that I lived another day today. These are not jokes, but real historical scenes. Under the great pressure of not knowing what will happen next, many officials can't bear it. I don't want to be an officer either, so go home and go to the head office. Hmph, it's not that easy. "The villain who is greedy and has no blessings, so he slanders, all say that the court official is difficult to do." Slandering the court is another serious crime. So it's neither to go nor to stay, it's just "you say you want to escape, but you are destined to stay". The greatest thing about human beings is that they can always find ways to solve problems. The officials of the Ming Dynasty fully reflected this characteristic in this contradiction. They came up with a very unique method - pretending to be crazy. In the imperial court during the Hongwu period, it was common for a good person to suddenly suffer from mental illness. The specific manifestations were dementia, dull expression, disheveled hair, calling people when they saw them, greeting people with a kitchen knife, etc., in various forms. Of course, there is only one purpose - to live two more years. Having said that, this trick is also good, and there was no such trick as mental appraisal at that time. As long as you can spend your money and do all kinds of disgusting things, you will definitely succeed. Let's give an example of a successful person. The will to pretend to be crazy is really strong. This unlucky (or lucky) man is called Yuan Kai, who is the supervisory censor. Once Zhu Yuanzhang sent him a job to hand over the list of executed criminals to Prince Zhu Biao. This should be a very simple job, but what Yuan Kai didn't expect was that his fate would change like this. He handed the list to the crown prince. Seeing that there were too many people on the list, the crown prince advocated lenient treatment, but the problem was that he did not go to his father to say this, but told Yuan Kai to tell Zhu Yuanzhang his own Opinion. Yuan Kai thought to himself, let's go. After seeing Zhu Yuanzhang, he honestly told the prince's words as they were, and then kowtowed and prepared to leave.Unexpectedly, at this time, Zhu Yuanzhang asked him: "The prince's opinion is contrary to mine. Who do you think is right?" Damn it, can I, a petty official, meddle in the matter between you father and son? The prince's letting go is out of kindness." It's really embarrassing for Yuan Kai. Unexpectedly, Zhu Yuanzhang was furious after hearing this, and reprimanded Yuan Kai for being cunning and not telling the truth, and then drove him out. After Yuan Kai returned home, the more he thought about it, the more afraid he became, and he made up his mind to pretend to be crazy. The next day, he did not go to court, and let his family members say that he had gone crazy. Sure enough, Zhu Yuanzhang didn't believe it, so he sent someone to his house to inquire. The person he sent didn't come empty-handed. He also took a woodworking drill. According to Zhu Yuanzhang's words, a madman is not afraid of pain. Let's see if you are really crazy or fake. .So he used an auger to tie Yuan Kai. Yuan Kai is worthy of being a master of pretending to be crazy. He carried forward Guan Yunchang's excellent quality of bone scraping and healing.Yuan Kai escaped this hurdle. However, Zhu Yuanzhang still didn't believe that he was crazy, so he secretly sent another envoy to see what was going on at Yuan Kai's home. As soon as the envoy walked into Yuan Kai's yard, he was stunned by a scene, and he was glad that he hadn't eaten yet. (It’s best not to watch it before you eat) It turned out that Yuan Kai's neck was locked by an iron chain, and he was lying on the ground eating dog poop and chewing piece by piece. The envoy lost his appetite. At this point, if Yuan Kai is not crazy, then he is crazy, so he hurried back and told Zhu Yuanzhang.Zhu Yuanzhang was also disgusted after hearing this, so he didn't continue to pursue Yuan Kai. Everyone should know that Yuan Kai is pretending to be crazy, and the trick of eating shit is too cruel, but Yuan Kai is not really eating shit. His colleagues in the Metropolitan Procuratorate got the news in advance and told him that he With an idea, I made the flour and sauce into a shit-like object and ate it as a meal. This escaped Zhu Yuanzhang's eyes and ears. During the period of Zhu Yuanzhang, the life of officials was not easy. From the suppression of corruption to the Kongyin case and the Guo Huan case, Zhu Yuanzhang killed many people, some deserved to be killed, and some were wrongly killed and wronged. Many people named Zhu Yuanzhang "butcher" and "murderer" in this regard, and some even suspected that he had mental problems. So what is Zhu Yuanzhang's purpose in doing this? We have described a lot of the situation during this period before, and listed the facts of Zhu Yuanzhang's suppression of corruption and wrongful killing. This is also hoping to tell the relationship between Zhu Yuanzhang and officials from a more objective perspective. It should be said that although Zhu Yuanzhang's actions were a bit extreme, the subject of his actions was still correct. His purpose was to eliminate corrupt officials. If we contact Zhu Yuanzhang's experiences in his youth, we can understand his actions better. Zhu Yuanzhang was oppressed by the government since he was a child, and his tragic experience was largely caused by corrupt officials, which also made him dislike these officials very much. There is also a great deal of mistrust.Once this distrust is triggered by certain factors, it will expand rapidly, and then spread to the lack of confidence in the entire group. As the saying goes, "Once bitten by a snake, ten years afraid of grass rope", Zhu Yuanzhang is such a person who has been bitten by a snake. He has been bullied by officials for decades, how could he trust these people. Therefore, once cases such as the Kongyin case and the Guo Huan case occurred, Zhu Yuanzhang would quickly expand the trend. In his view, officials are not credible. Although Zhu Yuanzhang's anti-corruption behavior is respectable, the effect is not good. This is because he paid too much attention to the power of the criminal law, but did not pay attention to strengthening the perfection of the system in all aspects, and blindly beat and killed. , There was very little corruption, but after his death, corruption in the Ming Dynasty was very serious, we will talk about it later. Zhu Yuanzhang's treatment of officials was very low, and many people thought it was deliberate abuse of officials. However, after analyzing the salary system in the early Ming Dynasty, I found that this view is not necessarily correct. The salary standards formulated by Zhu Yuanzhang should have been carefully calculated, and these salaries were enough for officials in the early Ming Dynasty to live. It's just that he didn't take into account that officials not only had to feed their own families, but also had to support clerks and have certain interpersonal contacts. However, due to the development of the economy and the improvement of living standards, the original salary was not enough. Some people may ask, Zhu Yuanzhang is so shrewd, how could he not think of these things, but judging from the actual situation, Zhu Yuanzhang is indeed short-sighted on these issues. For example, in order to prevent his descendants from starving, he stipulated that all his descendants are not allowed to go out to work. It is important that the hereditary title system he formulated has made sufficient plans for his descendants. Even if he is like Liu Bei, who is not known to be the descendants of Prince Jing of Zhongshan for many generations, he has reserved the title and prepared the corresponding salary. However, what he didn't expect was that a hundred years later, his descendants had multiplied to hundreds of thousands, and the food in one province of the imperial court was not enough to feed them. Unable to go out to work, he starved to death at home. This is the so-called doing bad things with good intentions. I think such an analysis and evaluation should be fair to Zhu Yuanzhang. While Zhu Yuanzhang was purging officials, another major case, the Hu Weiyong case, was also in progress. This case did not end because of Hu Weiyong's death, but continued. Someone was killed because of another person's confession. Where is the head? Unexpectedly, Li Shanchang was still alive. He and Hu Weiyong were in-laws, and his younger brother Li Cunyi was a sure party. Considering his huge influence in the court, Zhu Yuanzhang not only did not kill him, but even his younger brother Li Cunyi was spared. Exiled to Chongming Island (now Shanghai Chongming Island), this should be regarded as a great grace. However, Li Shanchang knew very well that he would not live long.He knew Zhu Yuanzhang too well, after all, he was more or less involved in the rebellion, and with this character, he would never let him go. Zhu Yuanzhang, come and kill me!The first level is up to you! In the twenty-three years of Hongwu (1390), Li Shanchang's house was repaired at home. He was no longer the prime minister and could no longer call the wind and rain, but he had to find someone to repair it. Do you have to do it yourself? He thought of Tang He who was leading the soldiers. Tang He was his fellow villager and also his good friend. He asked Tang He to borrow 300 soldiers as laborers. It seems like a normal thing to do.But there was one thing that never occurred to him. Tang He betrayed him. After lending Li Shanchang three hundred soldiers, Tang He immediately reported to Zhu Yuanzhang secretly, and Zhu Yuanzhang once again launched a murderous plan against Li Shanchang. It should be said that 300 people really can't do much, and the soldiers were sent by Tang He, and they would not listen to Li Shanchang's command. Even so, this matter is enough to become the first grass on the camel's back. From this point of view, there is really a reason for Tang He to be able to live to the end. The old and dim-eyed Li Shanchang seemed to think that he lived too long, so he immediately made a second mistake. His confidant Ding Bin should be exiled for breaking the law, but Li Shanchang wrote a letter to intercede for Ding Bin.Zhu Yuanzhang is angry again, who do you think you are!Do I still need you to take care of the prisoners? He ordered Ding Bin not to be exiled anymore, but instead of releasing him, he was put in prison and tortured day and night.Zhu Yuanzhang believed that Li Shanchang must have some secrets, and Ding Bin must know this secret.Facts have proved that his judgment is correct. What Li Shanchang did was worthy of Ding Bin, but Ding Bin was sorry for Li Shanchang. He confessed the details of Li Cunyi and Hu Weiyong's joint rebellion.Zhu Yuanzhang made a decisive decision and took Li Cunyi back, and tortured him again. Li Cunyi then confessed his persuasion to Li Shanchang, and Li Shanchang's phrase "you will do it for yourself" became one of the most frequent words in Zhu Yuanzhang's mouth. The camel is about to fall, let's add a handful of straw. By this time, the straw is not hard to find. After careful analysis, Li Shanchang's domestic slaves believed that the time had come, and the dogs in the water would not be beaten for nothing, and if they were beaten, they would not be beaten for nothing. They conspired to claim to Zhu Yuanzhang as victims that they had been oppressed by Li Shanchang for a long time, and sued Li Shanchang for actively participating in Hu Weiyong's rebellion, and made the time and place quite clear, although it seems impossible to know so clearly in their identities. But at the time, it didn't matter. At this time, more and more people joined in the fun, and the censors wrote letters one after another to impeach Li Shanchang. He was accused of everything from not paying attention to etiquette in the court to corruption and accepting bribes. the environment. What is even more unexpected is that a department that is absolutely incompetent in handling cases also stepped on Li Shanchang, which is really ironic. This department is the Qin Tianjian, which is mainly responsible for astronomy and calendar. No matter what, they never thought that astronomy readers could get in on it, but they did. It can be seen that nothing is difficult in the world, as long as there is a heart. They reported to Zhu Yuanzhang that the recent star change was an unlucky omen, and then proposed a solution to "remove the minister". I really can't refuse to accept what I want. Li Shanchang is at the end of his life, not to mention iron coupons, even diamond coupons can't save him. After following you for decades, I finally reached the end, I can no longer accompany you, let's finish this road by myself. In any case, Li Shanchang has no reason to rebel. His son married a princess. He is not only Zhu Yuanzhang's in-laws, but also the most important minister. Even if Hu Weiyong succeeds in rebelling, he is at most only the most important minister. Zhu Yuanzhang naturally knew that Li Shanchang had no need to rebel, but he had to kill Li Shanchang. Remembering that Li Shanchang had followed him for many years, Zhu Yuanzhang saw Li Shanchang for the last time before his execution. Zhu Yuanzhang sat on his throne and looked at Li Shanchang who was kneeling below. This man used to be my most trusted subordinate, and now I want to kill him. Li Shanchang knelt on the ground and looked up at Zhu Yuanzhang. This man was once my truest friend, and now he is going to kill me. What else can I say, there is nothing to say. Li Shanchang looked at Zhu Yuanzhang. Decades ago, he defected to this person. They talked all night long, met each other, and planned the future together. That year, Li Shanchang was 40 years old and Zhu Yuanzhang was 26 years old. He kowtowed to the current emperor Zhu Yuanzhang to thank him, and walked out of the hall. Li Shanchang walked onto the execution ground, and he took one last look at the sky. Today's weather is really nice, the sky is very blue. It suddenly occurred to him that thirty-six years ago, the day he walked into Zhu Yuanzhang's barracks seemed to be a sunny day. In the twenty-three years of Hongwu (1390), Zhu Yuanzhang killed Li Shanchang and the Yiqi tribe.
