另外，由于小西部队撤走是得到了李如松同意的，根本不需要悄悄地走，所以他走时放火焚烧了被冻住的船只来当路标，大同江上火光熊熊，只要不是瞎子都能看见，明军怎么可能要到第二天早上才发现日军遁走？朝鲜方面所有的这些说法，显然是文过饰非，无非想为朝方的失职开脱而已，没什么可信度。 还有就是从事后朝鲜罢免并且要将李镒进行审判这一情况看，显然朝鲜是承认李镒有问题的，也就是说，朝鲜承认了自己的错误。 但李如松在天黑前撤掉李镒这一路人马，这应该是真的。从上面这些情况判断，我们猜想他撤掉这路埋伏的朝鲜军队，不外三个原因。 一是即使放着李镒这路人马，以朝鲜军队的战斗力和一贯表现，拦不住小西是没有任何悬念的，所以这支部队的去留对战斗本身没什么意义。但要命的是，朝鲜军队极可能又搞一次全线败退，光这样倒不怕，就怕他们夜里溃败冲乱明军阵地，或者是日军因此把士气又给提起来了，那就麻烦大了。 二是在城外放着这路不完全属于自己的人马，战局凭空多了无数变数。万一朝鲜军队出击时机不对，导致小西受惊改变方向，甚至于干脆又缩回平壤城去不走了，李如松可就冤到家了，到时候能活活气死。朝鲜军队甚至有可能故意这样做，这点是李如松必须要防范的。 三，李镒部队出现了异动——也就是说，李如松并没有让李镒去埋伏，李镒部队的埋伏是朝鲜军的自主行动，不符合李如松的战略，因此必须将他们撤掉。这个可能性我认为是最大的。 因为无论朝鲜还是明朝的记录，都只有李如松撤掉李镒这路的记录，而没有他指派李镒的记录。李如松自己的行为虽然经常有点愣头青，但他的战场指挥风格却很细腻，在这种事上他绝不会漏算什么。 小西所部已经破胆，且对李如松放他们走的动机必定非常疑惑，撤退时会十分警惕。只要在准备或者刚出平壤的时候，前方有什么迹象显示异常，小西非常可能缩回去，李如松接下去就会被迫和小西死磕。而李镒和柳成龙这几位，是坚定的主战分子，力主明军和日军决战的中坚力量，如果搞出什么小动作来，十分正常。 不要说不可能。要知道，朝鲜君臣从头到尾可都一直在想一件事，那就是怎么才能让明军和日军早点死磕、决战，好早点结束这场战争，他们从来就没断过这念头。至于明军死伤多少，他们才不在乎。这从朝鲜方面的各种记载上都可以看见极明确地表述。像这次平壤之战结束后，朝鲜君臣对李如松最大的意见，就是他放跑了小西，在可以包饺子的情况下，没有把小西给包饺子——死磕小西，死的又不是朝鲜君臣，甚至都不是他们的士兵，他们当然乐意了。
