Chapter 4 The fourth chapter is the plan, Zhang Yi helps King Wei of Chu to destroy Yue

Under the instigation of Zhang Yi, King Wujiang of Yue abandoned Qi and joined Chu. With a momentum like a rainbow, he personally led a boat and an army of 210,000 soldiers to march up the river, cross the Wei River, and approach the Han River. In the first three months, the Yue people had hundreds of boats to transport grain, and the soldiers were well-stocked and confident. They crossed the Han River wholeheartedly and captured the king of Chu, Xiongshang, on Neifang Mountain. The King of Chu used Qu Wu's 110,000 troops to build strong fortifications along the Han River, and formed a long snake formation according to the terrain. He was vigilant day and night.

The Yue people continued to attack for several months, losing tens of thousands of soldiers and dozens of generals, but there was no breakthrough in size.Seeing that autumn is approaching and the Yue people are running out of food and grass, Wujiang envoy Ruan Yinglong leads a boat division out of Xiakou to transport food, but finds that Xiakou has been occupied by Chu people.Xiakou is where the Han River flows into the river, and the terrain is narrow, like a bottleneck.Zhaoyang personally stationed in Xiakou, deployed 30,000 troops, sunk ships and piled piles to block the bottom of the river, and blocked several iron chains under the river water. The iron chains were full of copper thorns and fishing nets. Pine, sulfur, dry firewood and other flammable materials are specially waiting for the Yue people's boat masters.Ruan Yinglong was in a hurry, abandoned the ship and landed, and stormed Xiakou, intending to remove the obstacles on the river after controlling both sides of the river. The Chu people occupied a favorable location, and the Yue people continued to attack for several days. Once again, more than 10,000 troops were lost, dozens of ships were destroyed, and they returned without success.

Only then did Wujiang realize that he had been tricked by the Chu people to lure the enemy, and hurriedly led the army to retreat, but it was too late. Zhaoyang had already laid down a copper wall along the east bank of the Weishui River.Wujiang continued to attack for several days. Seeing that there was no way to break through, he had no choice but to withdraw his troops and think hard about a good strategy to break through. Seeing that the Yue people's offensive gradually slowed down and turned into a defensive position, King Wei of Chu issued a decree to order Qu Wu to divide up 50,000 troops, cross the Han River eastward, and garrison on the Dahong Mountain and Jingshan line, blocking the Yue people's way to the north, and sending the Yue people to the north. It completely surrounds the wild area with a radius of no more than two hundred miles between Weishui, Hanshui, Yunmengze, and Dahong Mountain.Except for Yunmengze, which is full of swamps in the south and cannot be sailed by boat, the east, west, north, and three sides are heavily guarded by Chu people.

Seeing this, Wujiang was worried that the Chu people would take advantage of the situation to attack, so he also assumed a decisive battle posture, dividing the Yue people into three places, and defending the key pass in a tripod. However, until autumn passed and winter came, the Chu people still only defended and did not attack, as if they intended to trap the Yue people to death. At the beginning, Yue people didn't think so.However, with the coming of winter, the nightmare of the Yue people began. When the Yue people attacked Chu, it was in April and May, and most of them wore spring and autumn clothes, but no winter clothes.

The Yue people lived on the southeast coast for a long time, and even in winter, the climate is relatively warm and humid, not like the edge of Yunmeng Lake, not to mention the gloomy and cold, after entering the twelfth lunar month, it snowed heavily for several days in a row.The north wind was howling, the snow was blowing heavily, and the Yue people were short of clothes and food. Although there were big fish in the Han River, the Yue people did not bring fishing gear. The soldiers could still touch some small fish and shrimps in Yunmeng Ze to survive. When a thin layer of ice formed on the Ze, the last food was considered exhausted.

Wujiang had no choice but to send an order to the three armies to find food on their own within a range of two hundred miles. The Yue people dug the ground three feet, not to mention birds and beasts, snakes, worms, fish and turtles, even tubers and grass roots were not spared.Later, even the bark was peeled off by Yue people to feed their hunger. After one winter, before the grass and trees sprouted and the weather turned warm, the Chu people lost tens of thousands of people without a single soldier, and the morale was low. King Wujiang of Yue saw it in his eyes, heard it in his ears, and felt pain in his heart. In the afternoon of the day, Wujiang sat in the tent of the Chinese army, his eyes slightly closed, as if he was in deep thought. When it was dark, one of the servants brought a pot of broth with a horse bone in it, and another guard brought in a tray with a small piece of horse meat on top.The two knelt down in front of the table and put the soup and meat on the table respectively.

Wujiang opened his eyes slightly, glanced at the two of them, and said softly, "Remove." The two looked at each other and were about to speak when the swordsman came in, knelt down and kowtowed: "Your Majesty, Master Lun is dead." Wujiang was shocked, and turned to the two guards: "Quickly, bring them up, and follow me to see Master Lun!" Si Jianli and two attendants accompanied Wu Jiang to the military tent of the national teacher Lun Qi. Seeing that it was the King of Yue, the soldiers outside the tent rushed to report, after a while, Ben Cheng, Ruan Yinglong and several generals came out of the tent, greeted them outside, Wu Jiang helped them up one by one, walked into the tent, and sat in front of Lunqi's couch.

Ren Qiguo can only breathe out, not get in.Opening his eyes and seeing Wujiang, Len Qi struggled a few times to be courteous, but was held down by Wujiang.Tears welled up in Len Qi's eyes, and his voice was so low that he could hardly hear, "I can't serve... the king." Wujiang signaled that the attendant brought the broth, and Wujiang took a spoonful of it with his own hands, and put it into Lunqi's mouth: "Aiqing Lun, come, drink a spoonful, just drink a spoonful." Lun Qi opened his mouth slightly, took a sip, and thanked him: "Thank you for the soup. Your Majesty can use it for himself. I can't drink it anymore."

Wujiang put down his spoon, tears streaming down his face: "Oh, it's the widow who harmed you, the ministers, and the subjects of the Yue Kingdom!" Lun Qi took a deep breath and sighed softly: "The sky is about to perish, the king does not need to blame himself." Wujiang held Lun Qi's hand and said, "Aiqing Lun, tell me, where should I go now?" "Learn from the former king Goujian, negotiate peace with the people of Chu, bow your head and proclaim yourself a vassal, and then... lie... lie down and taste your courage." Lun Qi's voice became weaker and weaker.

Wujiang's expression was slightly chilled, and he pondered for a moment: "I heard you, Lun Aiqing, you should rest well." Slowly got up, walked out of the tent, and turned to the sword officer, "Call the doctor Lu Zong to see you in the big tent!" When Lu Zong heard the edict, he hurried into the big tent and kowtowed: "I kowtow to the king!" Wujiang glanced at him: "There is still no news from Zhang Zi?" Lu Zong's voice trembled slightly: "My minister sent more than a dozen groups of people to contact Zhang Zi, most of them were captured by Chu people, and Zhang Zi was not found by those who returned."

"The matter is urgent," Wujiang said eagerly, "You can go to Chuying as the special envoy of the widow, discuss peace with the Chu people openly, contact Zhang Zi secretly, and see what he thinks?" Taking a letter from several cases, "If you see Zhang Zi, you forward this letter to him and tell him separately, and tell him that if he can help you break the Chu, you will make him a Marquis and lead Jingdi for two thousand miles." "The humble minister obeys the order." In the Qiuchun Palace in the depths of Neifang Mountain, Zhang Yi was playing chess with King Wei, and the courtier rushed forward: "Your Majesty, the King of Yue envoy Lu Zong, the senior official, to negotiate peace!" "Oh?" King Wei of Chu was slightly taken aback, "The people of Yue have come to discuss peace? Where are they?" "Waiting for orders outside the palace." Zhang Yi pushed the game, cupped his hands and said: "Your Majesty entertains the distinguished guests, and I will take my leave." "Aiqing is out of touch," Wei Wang said with a chuckle, "Aiqing is a good hand in negotiating peace with the Yue people, how can she avoid it?" "Your Majesty really wants to negotiate peace with the Yue people?" "This……" "Your Majesty," Zhang Yi smiled, and said goodbye again, "Nuts are just around the corner, and I will see what your majesty is thinking, and I will never negotiate a peace. Since your majesty is unwilling to negotiate a peace, it will be inconvenient for me to be here, so it's better to avoid it." King Wei of Chu suddenly became enlightened: "Okay, okay, Aiqing will go on her own." Turning to the courtiers, "Tell the Yue envoy to see you!" Seeing the minister leading the decree out, Zhang Yi looked at King Wei: "The envoy will come later, how do you dare to ask Your Majesty how to deal with it?" King Wei felt that there was something in Zhang Yi's words, and asked, "What do you mean by loving Qing?" Zhang Yi got up and walked to King Wei, whispering in his ear for a while. King Wei was stunned for a moment, then nodded again and again: "Well, it's a bitter trick, I'll let you do it!" Concentrated for a while, he suddenly changed his face, violently overturned the chess game, and shouted loudly, "Come here, blow him out! " Zhang Yi also turned pale like an actor, knelt down in front of King Wei and kowtowed, "Retire!" Zhang Yi bowed three more times, and walked out of the palace gate with heavy steps. There were already two halberd warriors waiting outside the door, escorting him slowly out of the palace gate. The other palace is built on the mountain, and the gate of the palace is tens of feet high from the gate of the hall, with hundreds of steps.Lv Zong climbed up the steps under the guidance of his ministers, and saw Zhang Yi being escorted down the steps by two halberd-wielding soldiers from a distance, he was shocked, and looked at his ministers: "Excuse me, my lord, why was this person escorted out? " The minister was also taken aback: "This... I don't know either." Lu Zong pretended not to know, and asked again: "Dare to ask my lord, who is he?" "Responding to the envoy's words," the courtier looked at Zhang Yi, "This person is the guest minister Zhang Yi, who just ordered to play chess with His Majesty." Turning around and cupping his hands, "Master Special Envoy, please!" With a small drum in his heart, Lu Zong followed the minister up the steps and walked towards Zhang Yi and the three of them. Walking nearby, seeing Zhang Yi walking down with her head buried in tears, Lu Zong coughed and stopped walking.Zhang Yi also stopped in her tracks, saw that it was Lu Zong, looked at him and shook her head again and again, let out a long sigh, buried her head and continued walking. Lu Zong's heart trembled, he walked up the steps with his courtiers, walked into the palace, kowtowed: "The Yue made Lu Zong kowtow to the king." King Chu Wei was full of anger, panting heavily, and pointed to the guest seat opposite: "The more you are impolite." Lu Zong thanked him, got up anxiously and walked to the guest seat, seeing the mess on the ground, the chess game overturned, black and white chess pieces scattered everywhere, and before he could speak, the king of Chu scolded his courtiers: "You are blind, hurry up and clean it up, let's get rid of it." Guests ridiculed?" The minister hurriedly knelt on the ground and bent over to clean up the chess game. King Wei gasped for a few more breaths, raised his head and turned to Lu Zong, tried his best to calm down, clasped his fists and said, "I have heard about Lu Zi's name for a long time, and I just met him today, so I made Lu Zi laugh at me!" Lu Zong also clasped his fists and said, "Later, Lu Zong thanked the king for his love. Dare I ask why the king is so angry?" "Isn't it because of that ignorant Zhang Yi?" Wei Wang's anger was hooked up again immediately, and he pointed to the outside of the hall and said, "I think he is good at chess, so I worship him as a guest, give him a title, and reward him with gold." Silver beauty. Today, the widow is bored, so someone asks him to play chess to relieve the boredom, who knows that this person does not know good and evil, instead of relieving the widow, he adds to the trouble!" Lu Zong smiled and said: "Oh, dare to ask the king, how did Zhang Zi make trouble?" "Hmph," King Wei of Chu stared at Lu Zong and said angrily, "I'm about to ask Lu Zi about you! For decades, Chu and Yue have been good-neighborly and friendly. Since then, I have never offended your lord, but your lord neither issued a statement nor issued a letter of war. He suddenly raised an army of more than 200,000 people, invaded our territory, humiliated our subjects, burned, killed, raped and looted, and did all kinds of evil, which caused me to be in great trouble. The lives of the subjects were devastated, blood flowed into rivers, and the disaster of Wu in the past was repeated. The widow and Wujiang are like fire and water, and they cannot stand together, but Zhang Yi doesn't know what benefits Wujiang has gained, so he goes out of his way to persuade the widow to negotiate peace with the Yue people, and wants the widow to cut him off. Twenty cities to the west of Zhaoguan are given to the Yue people, you say this... this, this, this... Isn't this clearly against the widow?" Lu Zong came here to discuss peace, but when he heard this, his face turned pale, his knees trembled slightly, and his voice was out of tune: "Great... Great King..." "Oh!" Chu Wei Wang quickly changed his face, and his attitude was gentle, and he cupped his hands and said, "Is Lu Zi here to teach others?" Lu Zong stabilized his mind and bowed back: "My king misunderstood the slander and was disrespectful to attack Chu. It is regrettable. Today, Lu Zong is specially dispatched to implore the king, willing to live in good neighborliness with him and form an alliance forever!" "Hmph, it's too late to regret it now!" King Chu Wei suddenly changed his face, "My lord special envoy, I ask you to tell Wujiang that a man dares to act bravely. Since he dares to come, he should fight on the battlefield. He came here , before the decisive battle, he is a coward, let alone a widow, even the three-foot children in Chudi look down on him, how can we talk about a hero?" "Big—the king—" King Wei of Chu chased away the guest: "May I ask Lu Zi what else?" "This--" King Wei of Chu got up and said, "If Lu Zi has nothing else to do, I'm going to rest." Turning to the courtiers, "see off the guests!" Lu Zong walked out of the palace gate, and stepped down the steps in a sense of loss. Just as he was out of sight of the guards, a voice came from the side: "Lord Lu." Lu Zong turned his head and saw that it was Jing Sheng, and said happily, "Mr. Jing!" Jing Sheng hissed, and said softly, "Lord Lu, don't say anything, follow me quickly." Lu Zong followed Jing Sheng into a courtyard. Jing Sheng asked Lu Zong to stay, and went in by himself. After a while, Zhang Yi strode out to meet Lu Zong, bowed deeply to Lu Zong, and said happily, "Next time, Zhang Yi met Mr. Lu." Lu Zong also saluted: "Lu Zong has met Ke Qing." Zhang Yi said softly: "Lord Lu, this is not a place to talk, please come to the hall." The two walked into the hall, and after the guests and hosts were seated, Lu Zong cupped his hands and said, "Your Majesty is very anxious because he hasn't heard from Zhang Zi. The special envoy is looking for an opportunity to contact you under the pretext of negotiating peace. I don't think it's really a coincidence." "Alas," Zhang Yi sighed, "I asked people to contact the king. I didn't want Zhaoyang's guards to be very tight. After trying many times, three strong men committed suicide, and two strong men returned without success. What happened today, Mr. Lu thinks I saw it too." Lu Zong nodded again and again: "Zhang Zi has a heart, I will definitely report it to the king when I go back. The king has a secret letter, please Zhang Zihui to read it." He took out a piece of silk from the secret bag under his lapel and handed it to Zhang Yi. Zhang Yi opened it and read it, put the book on the table, pondered for a while, and sighed: "Oh, to tell you the truth, Lord Lu, the king's request is really embarrassing for me!" Lu Zong said anxiously: "Your Majesty has one more thing to say, I hope Zhang Zi will consider it." "I would like to hear more about it." "Your Majesty personally told me that as long as Zhang Zi helps you succeed in destroying Chu, your Majesty will grant Zhang Zi the title of Marquis and lead the land of Jing for two thousand miles." "Your Majesty's kindness, ten thousand deaths is not enough to repay it. It's just—" Zhang Yi bowed her hands and thanked, "The time is not yet ripe, I hope Master Lu will play the role of Your Majesty. Wait for a while, and I will—" "May I ask why Zhang Zi is in trouble?" "Alas," Zhang Yi sighed again, "Lord Lu doesn't know something. I bribed His Highness the Crown Prince to meet the King of Chu. I wanted to find an opportunity to do something for the King. I didn't want that guy from Zhaoyang to find out from somewhere that I was recruiting Yue. People attacked Chu, and immediately reported to the king of Chu. The king of Chu was furious, and he forced me to question him. Fortunately, he responded quickly and denied it. He falsely accused Zhaoyang. , the king of Chu no longer believed in me, and only regarded me as a jester. When I was bored, I called him to play chess and chat. Even His Highness would not let Shen know. Not only that, but Zhaoyang has a grudge against His Majesty," lowered his voice, "To tell you the truth, Brother Lu, there might be his eyes and ears inside and outside the courtyard right now." "What should I do?" Lu Zong stomped his feet anxiously. "Oh?" Zhang Yi leaned forward and asked, "May I ask Master Lu why he is so anxious?" "Alas," Lu Zong sighed, "the matter is urgent, and I can't hide it from Zhang Zi. The army has already run out of food, and the king can't afford a day's delay." Zhang Yi pretended to be surprised: "How...how is this possible? Doesn't your majesty not know the common sense of using troops before the soldiers and horses are moved?" Lu Zong sighed again: "Ah, when he attacked Chu last year, the king only wanted to break through as soon as possible, so he marched too fast, and the supplies were too fast to catch up, and now he was cut off by Zhaoyang again, and food has been out for a whole winter. " Zhang Yi was worried and fell into long thoughts. After a while, he raised his head and sighed: "Oh, I have been blocked from the news. I don't know anything about such a major event. It's just... I still have one thing I don't understand." "Master Zhang, please speak." "Your Majesty is the lord of England. Ben is mature and knows the art of war. General Ruan is not an ordinary person. Master Lun is even more mature and prudent. Why didn't the army divide into two groups when they attacked Chu and sent the boat along the river to attack Yingdu? Let Lulu attack the Han River. If so, the Chu people will be attacked from both sides, and the Han River will not defend. As long as the king breaks through the Han River, the capital of Ying will be captured soon. If you don’t fight, you will be defeated.” "It was originally the same plan. Later, when the King heard that the King of Chu was coming to Neifang Mountain, he was also eager for success, so--ah, it's all in the past, so let's not talk about it." "Then...even if the Han River is crossed by force, the king should send heavy troops to garrison Xiakou to ensure that there is no danger of food and fodder." Lu Zong lowered his head, was speechless for a while, and finally let out a long sigh: "Oh, it's too late to say anything. May I ask Mr. Zhang, is there an expedient plan right now?" Zhang Yi fell into deep thought again, for a long time, looked up at Lu Zong: "Since this is the case, I will persuade the king to retreat temporarily." Lu Zong shook his head again and again: "To tell you the truth, the Chu people have completely cut off the way of retreat. There are no rescuers outside and no food and grass inside. The hundreds of thousands of troops have already fallen into desperation. Even if they want to retreat, there is no way out!" "At present, it seems that if the king wants to take Chu, the time has not come; if he wants to retreat, it is not difficult." Lu Zong's eyes lit up: "Oh, what's Zhang Zi's good plan?" Zhang Yi found a piece of wood, drew a picture of the situation on it with a pen, and pointed to the picture with the tip of the pen: "Master Lu, please look, this is Weishui, and this is Mount Peiwei. This mountain is more than 200 miles from north to south, and only 30 miles from east to west. , is a natural barrier, and the Chu people's defense is very weak. There is a shortcut in the mountain, called Yangchang Gorge, which is only forty miles long, and it is very dangerous. The king can lead the army to fill the river from here, conquer the river defense, break into this valley, and control the river. It takes less than two hours for the army to cross the Peiwei Mountain at both ends of the valley, and break out of the encirclement. The Chu people all set up defenses on the Xiakou and Weishui lines, and there may be no troops in Shandong. As long as the king breaks through the front line of defense, he can drive eastward for a long time , and retreat to Zhaoguan along the north side of Diqi Mountain. After passing Zhaoguan, it is the boundary of the king." Lu Zong nodded again and again: "Zhang Ziguo is a great plan, but—" he paused, his face showing difficulty. "What worries does Mr. Lu have?" "In such a dangerous place, the people of Chu must deploy heavy troops to defend it. I am so weak, how can I break through?" "Lord Lu, don't worry, Jing Cui, the guard of the Weishan Mountain, and I are very generous, and I can persuade him to give up and give up a passage." "That's great!" Lu Zong was both surprised and happy, and soon became worried, "Although we can escape, but we put General Jing in an unjust place, what should we do?" "You're right." Zhang Yi pondered for a moment, then raised her head and said, "How about this, let the king organize the elite and fight with all his strength, and General Jing will make the old and weak guard at the mouth of the valley. The two armies will hand over and the victory will be decided. It is better to have an explanation when His Majesty blames you for retreating in defeat." "Okay, okay, it's just—at General Jing's place—" Zhang Yi seemed to know what Lu Zong wanted to say, and smiled slightly: "Your Majesty Lu, you don't have to worry about General Jing. The Zhao and Jing families have always had grudges. In the previous war with Wei, Zhaoyang used Pang Juan's hand to kill Jing He. General Jing escaped many battles and forged a feud with Zhaoyang to kill his father. This time Zhaoyang is dedicated to making meritorious deeds, and General Jing himself will not let him succeed." "Well," Lu Zong no longer had any doubts, "If you say so, it is feasible! Dare I ask Zhang Zi, when is it appropriate to break out?" "The night is long and the dream is full, so it's not too late. Tomorrow is midnight, it will be midnight." Lu Zong cupped his hands again and again: "The next king thanked Zhang Zi and General Jing!" "Your Majesty Lu, you are welcome." Zhang Yi also cupped his hands, "Your Majesty just turned around and attacked Chu after listening to what I said. This ending is not what I wish. After Master Lu returns, please pass it on to Your Majesty and say it is in your heart." I am ashamed, I implore Your Majesty to forgive me!" "It's the sky that doesn't help you, Zhang Zi doesn't have to blame himself." Zhang Yi buried her head in thought for a while, cupped her hands and said: "Master Lu, this place is dangerous, I will stay here soon." Turning to Jing Sheng, "Brother Jing, send Master Lu back, be careful!" Jing Sheng replied: "Old slave obeys!" Lu Zong cupped his hands to leave Zhang Yi, and walked out of the courtyard with Jing Sheng. Not long after the two of them walked out, a black shadow sprang out from a dark place not far away, quietly trailing behind. After a while, Hei Ying saw Lu Zong and Jing Sheng bid farewell, and stepped into the resting place of the envoys of the Yue Kingdom, just turned around, and ran into a courtyard in a hurry. In the inner hall of the courtyard, Qin Guoshangqing Chen Zhen sat on the table, looking at the beauty Yi Na with two critical eyes without blinking. She is dancing a solo dance full of western flavor, and several musicians are singing together, accompaniment for Yi Na with all their attention. After watching for a while, Chen Zhen frowned, and suddenly shouted: "Stop!" Everyone stopped, and all their surprised eyes turned to Chen Zhen.Yi Na, who was dancing to the peak, was at a loss and froze there. Chen Zhen turned to several musicians: "Change to Chu tune." Several musicians played Chu music instead. Chen Zhen turned to Yi Na: "Go, put on a gauze dress, expose your belly, and dance the navel dance you did that day to this tune." Yi Na was stunned for a moment, then went into the inner room to change clothes.Just at this time, the black eagle following Jing Sheng rushed in.Chen Zhen waved off the musicians, and Hei Diao explained the whole process in detail. Without hesitation, Chen Zhen turned to Hei Diao and said, "Release a few more people, keep an eye on Zhang Yi, Jing Sheng and others, and don't disturb them!" Hei Diao led the way and left. Chen Zhen smiled sinisterly, and said to himself: "My boy, I'm thinking about the flaws, so you'll come to your door yourself!" Not without complacency, he tapped a few tables, and shouted crisply, "Yina, musicians, let's sing and dance!" play!" In the tent of the Chinese army, Wujiang listened to Lu Zong's detailed report, thought for a while, and sighed: "Alas, to tell you the truth, these days, Zhang Zi fell into the sea like a mud cow, and there is no news. I have been muttering in my heart, don't tell me that Zhang Zi has bad intentions." , Deliberately deceiving the widow. Today, it seems that the widow misunderstood Zhang Zi!" "Your Majesty is right." Lu Zong echoed, "This minister also had this idea in his heart, but now that he sees Zhang Zi, he realizes that he has misunderstood." Wujiang sighed again: "Oh, what Zhang Zi said is right. The failure to attack Chu this time is entirely due to the fault of the widow. If General Ruan's words were followed, the troops were divided into two groups, and the front and back attacked, and Yingdu would have been destroyed. Lu, the widow should also use heavy troops to guard Xiakou. Alas, I blame the widow for being too conceited, just wanting to break through the chaos as soon as possible, leaving no way out, so that today's defeat will happen." Lu Zong persuaded: "Your Majesty, you don't have to blame yourself. If you keep the green hills, you don't have to worry about running out of firewood. As long as your Majesty retreats completely, it won't be too late to come back another day for revenge." "Lu Aiqing, since Zhang Zi is scheduled to break out of the siege tomorrow and night, there is not much time left. You go and invite Generals Ben and General Ruan to come in and listen to the order." "The humble minister leads the decree." Seeing Lu Zong withdrawing from the tent, Wujiang knocked on several cases lightly, Si Jianli walked in. Wujiang glanced at him, untied the Yuewang sword from his waist, and took out the Yuewang Yuxi from the case, handed it to him, clapped his hands and summoned four personal guards, stared at the five people for a long time, and said slowly: "You wait for five people They are all confidantes of the widow, and the widow also entrusts each other with their confidantes. Listen to the order, everyone!" Seeing that King Yue was so dignified, the swordsman and the four swordsmen looked at each other, knelt down and kowtowed: "I am waiting for the order!" "According to the strength of the five of you, the people of Chu are unstoppable. You set off immediately, break through the siege to the north, find a gap to enter Dahong Mountain, and go down through Tongbai Mountain to return to Vietnam. If the widow returns safely within three months, it will be considered Yes. If something unexpected happens to the widow, the five of you should work together to assist the crown prince as king and inherit the Yue Temple. Anyone who refuses to accept it will be beheaded with this sword!" The swordsman and the four swordsmen cried: "We will protect the king to the death, and we will live and die with the king!" "Alas," the King of Yue sighed, "We can't care about both the widow and the country!" The five worshiped each other and wept again, but refused to leave. At this moment, the sound of horseshoes came from outside the tent, King Yue knew that Ben Cheng and the others had arrived, and said anxiously: "The widow will hand over the land to you, you--" waved your hands violently, "Why don't you go quickly?" The five wept, prayed several times, got up and left. After a while, Lu Zong led Ben Cheng and Ruan Yinglong into the room. Seeing that the two were each wearing sackcloth, Wu Jiang knew that Lun Qi was gone, sobbing, "When did the national teacher leave?" "Just left." Ruan Yinglong responded with tears. "It's fine to leave." Wujiang wiped away his tears, turned to Ben Cheng and Ruan Yinglong, "You two lovers, how many can walk now?" "133,000 people." Ben Cheng responded. "Where are the horses?" "Two thousand nine hundred horses." Wujiang pondered for a long time, and ordered: "Slaughter all the horses and let the soldiers eat their stomachs. If they can't eat, take them with them and kill them to go home!" Ben Cheng was startled, and looked at Ruan Yinglong. Ruan Yinglong was also taken aback. These are the only remaining war horses, and the two wanted to use them to protect the king of Yue, and they were the first to break out of the encirclement. "Go," Wujiang said without a doubt, "Order the three armies to eat and drink enough tonight, and sleep for a day tomorrow to recharge their energy. When it is dark, attack Mount Peiwei!" Ben Cheng and Ruan Yinglong kowtowed: "My minister obeys the order!" At dusk the next day, hundreds of thousands of Yue people who had eaten enough horse meat quietly pulled up their tents and headed towards Mount Peiwei. By the time we reached Weishui, it was almost midnight. The Yue people threw the dismantled boat boards into the river and paved several passages. The soldiers stepped across the river in an orderly manner.Because the sound was too loud, it was not long before the Chu people noticed it. The drums were beating and the horses were neighing. Ben Cheng didn't care much, he took the lead and led dozens of swordsmen to kill.As Zhang Yi said, those Chu people were old and weak, but the Yue people were the best and brave. In a moment, the people of Chu left hundreds of corpses and fled in a hurry.Ruan Yinglong led his troops to deploy defenses on the east bank of the Weishui River, while Ben Cheng poked out the mouth of the Yangchang Canyon from the mouth of the prisoners, and led the crowd into the valley. Ben Cheng sent people to check, and as Zhang Yi said, there was no ambush in the valley. The valley road is sometimes wide and sometimes narrow, and only five people can pass through at the narrowest point. The Yue people had to line up in a long snake and meander forward. At dawn, the forward was near the mouth of the valley at the east end, and the tail was still outside the valley at the west end.Until this time, Chu general Jing Cui seemed to "wake up suddenly" and lead the army to slaughter.Ruan Yinglong, who was in charge of the rear of the palace, accelerated the organization of the troops to enter the valley, and at the same time led them to meet and fight.Jing Cui seemed to be "lost" again, watching helplessly as Ruan Yinglong waited and retreated, entered the valley, and then led the crowd to build a fort outside the valley.Ruan Yinglong also ordered people to build fortifications at the mouth of the valley, and the two armies confronted each other. Ben Cheng, who opened the way ahead, led the crowd to rush out of the valley first, but no Chu people were seen.Ben Cheng was overjoyed, so he protected Wujiang with all the swordsmen and found a way to go east. The army followed closely behind in the shape of a long snake. After walking for only one mile, there was suddenly the sound of drums and the sound of charging behind him. A Biao army rushed out from the nearby forest, smashing the Yue people in an overwhelming force, and sealed the entrance of the valley.Wujiang was startled, stopped in his tracks, turned his head and looked anxiously, and saw a flag appearing in the morning light from a distance, with the word "Zhao" written on it impressively. Wujiang was shocked, and was about to turn back, but was stopped by Ben Cheng, Lu Zong and all the swordsmen.Wujiang took a closer look at the past, and there were tens of thousands of Chu soldiers, obviously coming prepared. The more people there are in the valley, no matter how many people there are, no matter how brave they are, they will not be able to break through the narrow valley mouth. Wujiang knew that the situation was over, so he sighed and turned his head eastward under the guard of the crowd.Wujiang, Ben Cheng and others protected the King of Yue and ran for a distance. Seeing that the Chu people did not pursue him, they stopped and counted the number of people. They saw that only more than 3,000 people rushed out. There is a fork in the road ahead, Wu Jiang is discussing with Ben Cheng and Lu Zong where to go, when the dust is flying on the fork, another Biao army comes out, the leader is Qu Gai.Everyone didn't have time to discuss, so they went another way.The people of Chu chased and killed for a while, and Ben made up the rear of the crowd, fighting and retreating. When it was dark, everyone retreated to Diqi Mountain, counted again, and there were only 500 people left. After walking another distance, Ben Cheng saw a village in front of him, and people killed him. There was no one in the village, and there was no food or rice. After running for hundreds of miles, Wujiang saw that everyone was already tired, so he sent an order to rest.Lu Zong led the people to search around the village, and found a grain storage cellar. He ordered people to dig out the grain and use all the pots and stoves in each household. Relying on each other, they fell asleep. Before dawn, another Chu army came to kill him.Ben Cheng and the others hurriedly took up the challenge, led a group of swordsmen to protect Wujiang, and rushed out from the southeast. The people of Chu chased after him for a while, and then went away. It was a very hard day.Wujiang and his party wanted to go eastward along the river, but no matter where they went, they were always attacked by Chu people of various sizes.Bencheng proposed to take the mountain road instead, Wujiang agreed, and everyone turned north into the Dabie Mountains, walking day and night, and it turned out that the road was unimpeded.Seeing that Dongling Fort was approaching, Wujiang looked around and saw that only Ben Cheng, Lu Zong and a dozen swordsmen were following him, and everyone was tired, hungry, walking more and more heavily, obviously unable to continue After holding on, and thinking that there are only a few people in front of the 210,000 army, I couldn't help crying. Seeing the King of Yue weeping, everyone kowtowed to the ground. Wujiang wiped away his tears with the lapel of his clothes, and sighed, "Oh, all warriors, Wujiang did you harm!" "Your Majesty—" Everyone broke down in tears and kowtowed repeatedly. Just as Wujiang was about to speak, there was another strange noise in front of him. He raised his head and saw a group of Chu people swarming over. Everyone turned their heads, all dumbfounded, because hundreds of steps ahead, there were countless Chu soldiers standing in the dark. There is a canopy in the middle, and standing under the canopy is the king of Chu, Xiongshang. There is an army on the left and right sides, the generals are the prince Xiong Huai and the guest Qing Zhang Yi.Although there were no Chu soldiers around Zhang Yi, there were dozens of brown-clothed swordsmen, with Gongsun Zhi, Gongsun Yan, and Jing Sheng at the forefront. Chu people gradually moved forward. Boundless does not retreat but advances, attracting everyone to meet it. When they were fifty paces away, both sides stopped. Zhang Yi is still dressed as she was when she went to Vietnam, holding a lupine.Zhang Yi lightly shook the feather fan a few times, which was particularly eye-catching as the weather was not hot.King Yue, Ben Cheng and all the swordsmen seemed to turn a blind eye to all the Chu people, and turned their attention to Zhang Yi alone. Lu Zong was even more stunned, pointed at Zhang Yi, and said in shock: "Zhang...Zhang Zi...you..." Zhang Yi sleeved her feather fan, bowed deeply in the car and said, "Central Plains scholar Zhang Yi has seen the king! General Ben! Lord Lu!" Ben Cheng woke up like a dream, holding a sword and said angrily: "Zhang Yi, the Yue Kingdom has no grievances or enmities with you, why... why did you even set up a poisonous scheme to frame us?" Zhang Yi bowed again: "General Hui Ben's words are the Yue people's own humiliation, how can it be said that they were harmed by Yi?" Ben Cheng became angry: "You, you, you...you are really a shameless person! It is clear that you bewitched the king to abandon Qi and attack Chu, why do you say that Yue people are taking their own humiliation?" "General Ben calm down," Zhang Yi bowed again, and said eloquently, "Rong Yi makes an excuse." Ben Cheng said angrily: "You...you capricious villain, don't make any more noise, eat me with a sword!" Just as he was about to charge out with his sword, Wujiang stretched out his hand to stop him, and said lightly: "Ben Aiqing, what he said is true, indeed! This widow brings shame upon himself!" Turning to Zhang Yi, he bowed and said, "Zhang Yi, it's not your fault that Wujiang has fallen into this state. However, I still have one thing that I don't know, so I ask Mr. Zhang for advice." Zhang Yi bowed back: "Please speak, Your Majesty." "If Wujiang doesn't listen to Zhang Zi's words and insists on attacking all of them, what will happen?" "It's just like in front of you, except that the people standing in front of the king are Qi people, not Chu people." Wujiang was startled for a moment, then nodded slightly: "Yes, I believe it. I still have a question, please ask Zhang Zi." "Please speak, Your Majesty." "According to Zhang Zizhi, since the outcome of defeating Qi and Chu is the same, why didn't Zhang Zi make the people of Qi accomplish this great feat, and only benefit the people of Chu?" Zhang Yi smiled slightly, cupped his hands and bowed again: "Since the king asked this question, Yi had to answer it. In Yi's opinion, it is not the king of Qi who can control Zhan Lu today, but the king of Chu. Therefore, Yi helps Chu instead of helping him." together." Wujiang lowered his head, pondered for a long time, then raised his head and said: "You are willing to help Chu, that's all you need to do, but why do you detour to Langya and plot to trap the widow?" "It's not that Yi plotted to trap the king, but the real king traps himself." "how do I say this?" "If your majesty settles in the southeast corner, you may be able to protect yourself. But your majesty is not self-satisfied, and he uses his troops to labor the people. He conquers innocent people, and hits a stone with an egg. How can he be invincible? Today's world is no longer the world of Goujian in the past, but the majesty is carving a boat and seeking a sword. Blindly pursuing Goujian's dream of dominance in the past is not knowing the right time; the king left the mountains of Wuyue and turned to the plains, like a tiger entering Pingyang, he did not know the right place; The kings of the three do not take possession of them, but if they only show off their bravery, wouldn't that mean their own defeat?" Wujiang's face turned angry: "I know you are a great talent, and they value you very much. You know that there will be such a defeat, but you don't remonstrate. It's not a conspiracy, so why?" "Your Majesty calm down, let Rong Yi say something." Zhang Yi said eloquently, "Imagine, Your Majesty, in February last year, Your Majesty planned for several years, with arrogance and arrogance, gathering 210,000 soldiers in Langya, like drawing a bow and arrow. At that time, if Yi persuaded the king to withdraw his troops and return to Vietnam, and to settle down in the southeast corner, would the king be willing to listen? If Zhang Yi did not expect, the king would not listen, and he would raise troops to attack Qi, and Qi would be defeated. Yi Thinking about it, what would it be like to be defeated by Chu instead of being defeated by Qi? Yi therefore persuaded the king to attack Chu." "You—" Wujiang became angry, and suddenly turned his gaze to Lu Zong beside him, with a ferocious face, and reached out to touch the sword at his waist. Everything happens in the blink of an eye. The crowd almost didn't see Wu Jiang draw his sword, and before he put his sword back into its sheath, Lu Zong's head fell to the ground. King Yue's swordsmanship was so high that everyone present was amazed. The King of Chu was even more taken aback, and involuntarily backed up a few steps, and the two men flashed out to block him.Dozens of crossbowmen bent their bows and set up arrows, aiming at King Yue together. Zhang Yi waved his hand, and all the crossbowmen put down their bows and arrows, but remained extremely vigilant. Zhang Yi turned to the King of Yue again, and bowed deeply: "Yi has something to say, and I hope the king will listen to it." Wujiang didn't return the courtesy, and said coldly, "Talk." "Although Your Majesty is not destined to be in Zhanlu, he is still a generation of swordsmen. If Your Majesty understands the current affairs, put down your weapon, and capture you with nothing to do. Yi is willing to ask the King of Chu to find a treasure island in the east of Yongdong for Your Majesty. There, Your Majesty can practice with all the swordsmen. kendo." Hearing this, King Wei of Chu also separated from the generals, took a step forward, bowed deeply, and said in a loud voice: "Xiong Shang has seen King Yue! Xiong Shang will accept Zhang Zi's invitation!" "Hahahaha!" Wujiang let out a long laugh suddenly, ignoring the King of Chu, clasped his fists at Zhang Yi, and said, "Since the sky does not tolerate Wujiang, how can Wujiang live in this world? Wujiang has no other wish but to die under Zhang Zijian, I also hope that Zhang Zicheng will be successful!" "This—" Zhang Yi's face was troubled. Wujiang asked again: "Isn't the head of Wujiang not worthy of Zhang Zi's sword test?" "Reporting to Your Majesty, Yi Yi's swordsmanship is not good, how can I use my sword on Your Majesty?" "You—" Wu Jiang was stunned for a while, and then sighed sadly, "Oh, Zhang Zi, I believe you are a good scholar, I believe you are a close friend, and when I was dying, I begged you for a sword, but you refused to give it?" Zhang Yi said: "Since your majesty is determined to die, Yi has no choice but to obey." Wujiang made another salute: "Thank you Zhang Zicheng."
