"The Emperor's Banquet" is the third new historical novel I created after "Jiangshan" and "Blood", but it is not my third work. Writing novels stems from impulse, to write what one wants to write, to write about one's unconstrained style and unconstrained style, and the world of sharing joy and sorrow with friends.Writing new historical novels lies in planning, and there are more layers of constraints, but it gives me the opportunity to settle down and deepen my own world. Everything is like a hexagram, it has several sides, the key is how we look at it.

I always believe that when writing a novel, a novel that has no impulse in my heart and cannot even touch myself is not a good novel. Fortunately, I still have the impulsiveness. When I think about writing, I will tremble inside.Fortunately, when I listen to a song in the silent night, I will cry or smile when I write it... No book will satisfy everyone's perceptions, but if it can record and arouse the strings of some people's hearts on a certain day, then it has the meaning of existence. The historical backgrounds of the three novels all choose historical periods that seem familiar but are covered by fog—at least I think so.

I always want to write about those characters who actually existed in history but were ignored intentionally or unintentionally. I always want to write about those characters who are like jumping elves in history books, and those characters that even dust, frost, knives and pens can't cover up. So there is Jiangshan, which tells the story of the impassioned and passionate struggle of heroes in the late Sui Dynasty before the Tang Dynasty; so there is also blood, which tells the history of blood and tears of those generals who can really protect their families and defend the country under the halo of the so-called brilliant civil servants in the Song Dynasty; so there is also today's " Emperor's Banquet"...

New history is by no means history, nor is it a pile of old papers. Of course, it can be more bizarre and interesting. In many places, martial arts, fantasy, and even mythology can be used to write beyond the imagination of many people. In my opinion, "The Emperor's Banquet" is also a work beyond imagination.Of course, my friend has only seen half of it now. If you can read the entire text, you will find that maybe even if you imagine it, you think it is completely different. Perhaps this is the real charm of the new historical novel. Imagination is very important. Human beings can only develop if they have imagination. Without imagination, there will be no future, and perhaps there will be no history.

"Emperor's Banquet" is written about the historical context of nearly 60 years in the late Yuan and early Ming Dynasties. The writing inspiration comes from a sentence in the "Long and Short Classics" of the Tang Dynasty, "A craftsman who makes a public opinion is not expensive to worry about people; a maker of arrows is afraid of people." It doesn't hurt. Does he have love or hate? Practical skills drive the ears." Of course, the inspiration of a sentence cannot be directly turned into a novel. To write a new historical novel with a count of one million words, according to my practice, it is enough to check historical materials with several million words.

But friends obviously don’t need to look up the history, you can take “The Emperor’s Banquet” as a story, of course, if you know the history of more than 60 years, you can read more content and interesting, even shocking, but you don’t It doesn't hurt to know, because we are writing new history after all. Let more people who don't know history learn about history through new historical novels.I even have the idea of ​​exploring and researching that period of history.
