There was silence for a while, and the ministers began to discuss.Wuji kept a straight face and said nothing, and the hall fell silent again.Li Zhi felt bored and annoyed, he hesitated for a while, and retreated.Han Yuan and Lai Ji dared to contradict the current situation, and they broke up in a quarrel. The facts are obvious, they are the "old veterans" who stand on the side of Mowgli, or more realistically, they are the capable generals of the "anti-military group".They are all well-known "pure and important officials" and they have Wuji as the backstage, so they dare to be so presumptuous.

"Pure and important officials" are particularly valued in officialdom, and they are a source of pride. From the end of the Sui Dynasty to the beginning of the Tang Dynasty, when the Li and Tang dynasties conquered the country and consolidated the regime, personal ability and strength were more important than family background. The samurai fulmars, Li Jin and others started their fortunes from commoners and became high-ranking officials, which is an example. However, in the mid-Zhenguan period, the patriarchal and aristocratic system rose again. If one wanted to get involved in the officialdom, seek a good position, and obtain a high title, family background became an extremely important condition.Among the officials in office at that time, there was a distinction between clear and turbid, that is, important positions and idle positions.

"Qing officials" generally have two meanings: one is from a wealthy and noble family; the other is an official who practices justice and straightness, does not corrupt the law, has noble character, and is quite outstanding.Among the young officials, those who belong to the "clear and important officials" are: the living man, who waits on the emperor's side, records his words and deeds, from the sixth rank; ; Supervise the censors, inspect various places, evaluate local officials, be on the eighth rank, and so on.Assuming these positions, the official career is guaranteed and the future is promising.Among the powerful and nobles, there is also a fierce competition for their children to obtain such positions.Han Yuan, a native of Jingzhao Mansion, has been a famous family in Chang'an for generations. When he was young, he served as the Minister of the Ministry of War in the Zhenguan Dynasty of Li Shimin, and he was the fourth rank. After the death of his father Han Zhongliang, he inherited the title of Duke of Yingchuan County from his father. In the third year of Li Zhiyonghui's reign, he was promoted to be the Minister of Huangmen; At this time he was only forty-nine years old.His wife is the cousin of Changsun Wuji, and the in-laws have a close relationship, take care of each other, share weal and woe, and help each other.Laiji, a native of Yangzhou, Jiangdu, whose father, Laihuer, was General Zuo Yiwei of the Sui Dynasty, was granted the title of Duke Rong.At the end of the Sui Dynasty, the world was in turmoil, Yu Wenhuaji launched a palace coup in Jiangdu, Lai Nuer was killed, the family was separated, and the young Lai Ji suffered from homelessness. But he studied hard, grew up, and passed the Jinshi examination in the early years of Zhenguan. In the seventeenth year, the prince's attempted rebellion occurred. Li Shimin was in great pain and embarrassment, and his thoughts fell into confusion. He tilted his head and asked the attendant officials: "How should we deal with Chengqian?" No one dared to answer correctly.Tongshi Sheren Laiji said: "Your Majesty can still be a loving father, and the prince can live his life, which is the best ending."

His thinking and eloquence were appreciated by Li Shimin, and he was promoted to Zhongshu Sheren. In the second year of Yonghui, he was promoted to the Minister of Zhongshu, a bachelor of Hongwenguan, and a supervisor of national history. In four years, he was awarded the third rank of Tong Zhongshu's sect, and he was ranked in class. In five years, Dr. Yinqing Guanglu was awarded. In six years, at the age of forty-six, Laiji replaced Liu Shi as the order of Zhongshu. His talent and experience are quite similar to Xu Jingzong's, but he was much luckier in his encounters. His family background is undoubtedly an important factor for his success. The elders and ministers of the Tang Dynasty generally refer to the Three Masters and the Three Dukes. The so-called three masters refer to the Taishi, Taifu and Taibao. The three men are Taiwei, Situ and Sikong.Their official positions are the highest, and they are first-class.Most of the three masters bestow honorary titles on respected and respected veterans, and most of the three princes are added officials by princes or civil and military ministers. Its power varies from person to person, or it is very important, or it is in name only, or it does not interfere with the government at all, or it does not interfere with the government. Those who manage government affairs are the Shangshu, Zhongshu, and the three provinces under the door, and the six ministries under the Shangshu province, the Ministry of Rites, the Ministry of War, the Ministry of Punishment, the Ministry of Households, the Ministry of Industry, and the imperial team, as well as the three provinces of the secretary, the palace, and the servants. Shu and the three provinces under the door are collectively called the six provinces; and nine temples Taichang Temple, Guanglu Temple, Weiwei Temple, Zongzheng Temple, Taipu Temple, Dali Temple, Honglu Temple, Sinong Temple, Taifu Temple, and one Yushi Temple Taiwan, Wujian Shaofujian, Jiangzuojian, Guozijian, Dushuijian, Military Weapons Supervisor, etc.The military institutions include: Nanya Sixteen Guards, commanding the Imperial Guards, Su Wei Jingshi and the court. There are about 10,000 people in each guard, and each has one general, who is the third rank, and two generals, who are the third rank. There is a long history under it, which records the affairs of joining the army and Cao's participation in military affairs such as warehouses, soldiers, cavalry, and helmets.Among them, the twelve guards who command the soldiers are: the left and right guards, the left and right Xiaoqi, the left and right martial guards, the left and right guards, the left and right leading guards, and the left and right Jinwu guards. The four guards who do not lead the soldiers are: the left and right prison guards, and the left and right Qianniu guards. The Tenth Army of the Beiya, generally called the Forbidden Army, of which the four guards are: the Left and Right Yulin Army, the Left and Right Longwu Army, and the Yiwei of the Neifu. The six armies are: the Left and Right Shenwei Army, the Left and Right Shenwu Army, and the Left and Right Shence Army, and there is no Neifu Yiwei. Each of the above ten armies has a general and three grades, and the officials include commanding army, general, long history, recording affairs, joining the army, warehouses, soldiers, helmets and other Caos participating in the military. There are a total of 634 Zhechong mansions in the ten provinces of the country, which are local conscripting mansions, that is, outer mansions, under the Sixteen Guards and the Sixth Commander of the East Palace. The sixth rate of the East Palace is responsible for the bodyguards, bodyguards, night watchmen and guards of the gates of the East Palace, as well as the prince's personal bodyguards. The aristocratic conscript mansions of the inner government include Qinwei Mansion, Xunwei First Mansion, Xunwei Second Mansion, Yiwei First Mansion, and Yiwei Second Mansion. The chief officer is Zhonglang General, and the deputy is called Zuo Lang Jiang.Shangshu Province is the highest executive organ of the imperial court. All the imperial edicts and approval chapters issued by Zhongshu Province will be handed over to the province for execution after they have been approved by the Menxia Province. The ultimatum to transfer customs issued by the nine temples and five supervisors to the state capital also needs to be issued by the province. The people of the Tang Dynasty said: "Those who are undecided in the world's major affairs, all go to the Minister of Ministers."

Therefore, it is called "Huifu".Its general office is called Dusheng, also known as Dutang. It is divided into two departments on the left and right. Each department has four divisions, and six departments have a total of twenty-four divisions, which are in charge of the administrative affairs of the whole country.Because Li Shimin had served as Minister of the Book during the reign of Gaozu Wude, this position was not placed to show his respect, and the left and right servants were the chief officers, and their status was equal to that of the servants in the lower provinces. In addition, there are left and right ministers in charge of provincial affairs. The six departments are all set up as ministers and servants, and all divisions are set up as Langzhong, Yuanwailang, etc.The yamen of Zhongshu and Menxia provinces are located in the southern part of the imperial city. The Zhongshu Province is the highest decision-making authority for orders. It drafts an edict, which is signed and approved by the Menxia Province, and then handed over to the Shangshu Province for execution.Various functional departments of the imperial court and local prefectures submitted the list, and the province also submitted it to the emperor, and discussed the gains and losses, and drafted a reply. After Emperor Gaozong and Li Zhi, the prime minister's office, namely Zhengshitang, was later called "Zhongshu Menxia" and moved from Menxia Province to this province. There are two Zhongshu orders in the province, and the two Zhongshu assistants are deputies.Among the subordinate officials are: six people from Zhongshu Sheren, who took the lead and participated in the chapter table, drafted the policy edict, You Buque, and You Suiyi, two each, who satirized and remonstrated; There are several members such as living roomers and general office workers.Jixian Academy and History Museum are also affiliated to the Ministry of Education.Among the three provinces, Menxia Province occupies the position of linking the past and the future, and holds the imperial seals and seals. The imperial edict documents drafted by Zhongshu Province need to be approved by the province, and handed over to the Shangshu Province for issuance and implementation. The chapters and tables of the ministers are also reviewed by the province, and submitted to the Ministry of Zhongshu for submission to the emperor. If there is any inappropriateness in the inspection, the revision can also be rejected. Its chief has two servants, and two servants under the door as deputy. There are four officials in the matter, who are in charge of reviewing the imperial edict, refuting the right and wrong; enter.Hongwen Museum is also attached to this province.Menxia province is the closest to the emperor, and the servants and ministers have the right to send the emperor's imperial decree for comment or even reject it.This is both a prerogative and a responsibility. In the early years of Zhenguan, Menxia Province passed and complied with all imperial edicts, and never raised objections or rejected them.Li Shimin was very dissatisfied, and seriously admonished: "Your irresponsible actions are tantamount to giving up your own duties. If you only need to pass my decree, then you don't need to use talented people, only a few low-level Officials can."

Because of his emphasis, the responsibilities and rights of Menxia Province have been increased. Most of the important positions in the imperial court are held by people from wealthy and noble families, and the government affairs are also controlled by them accordingly. The bureaucrats of this class gathered under the banner of Taiwei Changsun Wuji and formed a strong force against the abolition of the queen and the replacement of Wu Zhaoyi. The wealthy and noble forces headed by Wuji were in power, and it was difficult for Wu Zetian to move forward. She summed up the experience and lessons from the analysis of the situation, determined to get rid of the smug "pure officials", found and cultivated talents from the "dirty officials" with low backgrounds, formed her own strength, and competed with the "pure officials" group , and then launched a counterattack. As the saying goes, things of a feather flock together, and people are divided into groups.People who were usually dismissed, discriminated against, and excluded by the Mowgli faction emerged one after another. At this time, those who supported Wu Zetian had not yet formed a climate, and those who opposed Wu Zetian seemed unstoppable.Attacks and slanders against her came like snowflakes, and there were stacks of similar memorials on the imperial case in Ganlu Hall.Li Zhi didn't even want to watch it anymore, and couldn't bear to watch it anymore. With a gloomy face, he paced back and forth anxiously.Wu Zetian was quite patient, sitting in front of the royal case and flipping through the books one by one.She picked up a memorial and read: "The queen is the model of women in the world, and good and evil start from her. Therefore, it is said that the mother assisted the Yellow Emperor, and Daji overthrew the Yin Dynasty." When I read ancient history, I often lament the rise and fall, but I didn't expect that there will be abnormal phenomena in the world of sages."

As I was thinking about it, I suddenly burst out laughing.Li Zhi stopped and looked at her blankly: "What are you laughing at? What's so funny? They're scolding you." "It doesn't matter if you scold your concubines," Wu Zetian put down the note, "It's ridiculous that they are so bold that they actually pointed the finger at the emperor." "I am King Zhou of Shang and King You of Zhou, what do they dare to do?" Li Zhizi blushed, and Sai became furious like being bitten by a wild beast.Wu Zetian was secretly delighted that he was really irritated. She raised her thumbs up and said "OK", then got up and walked to Li Zhi's side, and encouraged him: "Your Majesty is a lord of ninety-five, the world belongs to the Li family, and they are just a group of slaves." That's all, how dare the dog bark at the sun, so disrespectful and lawless."

"I will go to court tomorrow, and I will give them a good reprimand. If anyone dares to compare me to Xia Jie, King Zhou, or King You, I will kill them." "What if they only demoted the courtiers and concubines?" The clever Wu Zetian stuck to Li Zhi's shoulder, and took advantage of the situation to turn the topic back to himself. "That's not OK." Li Zhi, who mustered up his courage, wrapped his arms around Wu Zetian's waist like a god of protection, "You are loyal to the Lord and defend me wholeheartedly. Without you, I don't know if I will be eaten by them one day."

He flicked his hand on the imperial case, and the memorials fell to the ground one after another.Wu Zetian bent down and picked them up one by one: "Maybe these memorabilia are against the courtiers and concubines, could it be that the emperor has really become a lonely family and has no ministers to help you speak?" Li Zhi tapped his narrow forehead: "Oh Well, Wei Weiqing Xu Jingzong submitted a memorial earlier, but he advocated making you the empress." He leaned over the imperial case and flipped through it for a while, took out a notebook from it, and handed it to Wu Zetian: "Look carefully."

Wu Zetian sat down in front of the royal case again, opened the memorial, looked at it, and couldn't help but exclaimed: "Good! This man is not only loyal, but also talented, his writing is smooth, and his words are justified and weighty." "Hey!" Li Zhi took a deep breath, "You have finally found a courtier who is willing for me, and I will reward you greatly." "There is no need to reward ministers and concubines. Your Majesty, it is rare to reward him well." Xu Jingzong was the first to stand up and support Wu Zhaoyi as queen, and became a fighter against Wuji forces, creating a long-awaited turning point for Wu Zetian. He was born in the southwest of Fuyang, Zhejiang Province, Hangzhou Xincheng. He was good at literature since he was a child, and he passed the imperial examination. At the end of the Sui Dynasty, the world was in chaos, and Yu Wenhuaji hanged and murdered Emperor Yang of Sui in Jiangdu in an attempt to seize the world. His father, Xu Shanxin, was the Minister of Finance at that time. In the Tang Dynasty, he was renamed as Shizhong.Xu Jingzong cherished his talents and succumbed to taking up his old post under the men who killed his father and enemies.Later, he defected to Li Mi and worked as a secretary in the marshal's mansion. At the beginning of Tang Wude, don't drive in Lianzhou.Li Shimin was eager to seek talent, so he was selected into the Literature Museum. At that time, it was a great honor to be selected as one of the eighteen bachelors, alongside Du Ruhui, Fang Xuanling, Yu Zhining, Yu Shinan, Chu Liang and other celebrities, and it was enough to prove his outstanding talent and learning. After the eighth year of Zhenguan, Xu Jingzong successively served as a writer who also studied Chinese literature, a Chinese book scholar, and a scholar who also studied national history.Ten years later, together with Changsun Wuji, he compiled the memoirs of Wude and Zhenguan dynasties, and was granted the male title of Gaoyang County for his meritorious service. In the 19th year, when Li Shimin personally conquered Gaoli, he served as the prince You Shuzi in charge of government affairs, and then joined the army as the school secretary and servant, and was responsible for drafting the imperial edict of the emperor.Li Zhi came to the throne, and Xu Jingzong served as Wei Weiqing, the chief of Weiwei Temple, in charge of weapons, chariots and horses, etc., from the third grade. At this time, he was sixty-three years old, but he was ambitious and still wanted to be promoted to prime minister and display his talents. The authoritarian Wuji, the tough elder with blatant likes and dislikes, clearly showed contempt for him.Xu Jingzong felt that the future was bleak, and he felt strong hostility towards Wuji and other "pure officials".As a result, I felt sympathy for Wu Zhaoyi, who was born in a common family, and keenly observed the possibility of the rise of the Wu family. I decided to give her a "big gift" first, so as to gain her favor and trust, and form a united front with her. , echoed internally and externally, and publicly declared war on the "pure officials".Li Zhi rewarded him with ten buckets of pearls, which gave him courage, confidence and strength. He drank a few glasses of wine, took advantage of the wine, drove to Wuji's house to visit Wuji, and solemnly advised Wuji to obey the emperor's order and make the Wu family the queen.Wuji originally thought that he was here to find out the news or ask for something, but he did not expect to be so bold and arrogant, so angry that he blew his beard and stared at his eyes, and roared furiously: "Master Xu, what are you talking about! A sixty-year-old minister, who disrespects himself so much and speaks for a lowly woman, don't you know her background history?"

"wrong." Xu Jingzong spread his hands, "A person's past is not equal to his present, and the present is not equal to the future. I only talk about the facts in front of me. It should make the emperor happy, and there is no need to cause him pain. Jun Zejing , the minister is loyal!" "Nonsense!" Wuji jumped up violently, "A loyal monarch should put state affairs first. If you find that the emperor's words and deeds are biased, you should dissuade him. Why do you do what he likes instead and add fuel to the flames? Cough, you are so stupid!" "Master Taiwei, don't get me wrong, I'm doing this for your own good." "Thank you, thank you for your kindness." There is no need to quarrel. The goal has been achieved, even if Xu Jingzong bid farewell.Wuji didn't send him out and let him go on his own.Wu Zetian's intelligence network had reached outside the palace, and she soon heard the news. She couldn't help being overjoyed, and sent Gao Yansi to formally contact Xu Jingzong, and presented him with three tributes of Korean ginseng and a set of imperial ginseng. The four treasures of the study.Xu Jingzong was overjoyed to receive the award again, feeling that his life was not in vain, he was finally excavated like jade, and after some processing, he could shine and realize the value of life.He rejoiced that he had come to the end of all the hardships, and thanked God for having the eyes to cast the glorious halo on him.The first important thing right now is to enter the palace to express gratitude, receive the imperial edict directly, serve the emperor's order purposefully, and exchange for a bright future.Just as the chariots and horses were ready, Li Yifu from Zhongshushe asked to see him.He and Li Yifu were both famous for their talents and learning at that time, and they had a good friendship, so they had to socialize.Welcoming him into the guest room, he asked absent-mindedly, "What's the matter, Mr. Li?" "The next official is here to bid farewell to Mr. Xu." Li Yifu had a mournful face. "Farewell?" "Yeah." Li Yifu's voice trembled, and his eyes were red, "I don't know what offended the Taiwei, and was demoted to Bizhou Sima. This trip is so far away, I am afraid it will be difficult to return to the capital, and it is impossible to sing and discuss poetry with Brother Jingzong again." text." Xu Jingzong felt compassion: "Has the imperial decree come down?" "No." "How did you know?" "I saw the draft edict in Zhongshu Province. To be honest, it was Wang Dejian who showed it to me. The draft edict is in his hands. Twenty or thirty people were demoted, and the list was made by the Taiwei." "He's too authoritarian." Xu Jingzong twitched his nostrils, "At this point, Brother Yifu, I advise you to try your luck." "Try luck?" "Yes. The emperor wanted to change the establishment of the middle palace, but he was blocked by the words of the Taiwei family. Why don't you cater to the holy will and write a book. If you can get the emperor's appreciation, you can turn disaster into blessing." "However, the memorial must go through the hands of the Taiwei." "Brother Yifu, are you in a hurry and confused? You can knock on the pavilion and present it directly to the emperor." "It's a god help me too." Li Yifu was so happy that he couldn't keep his mouth shut, "It's Wang Dejian's turn to be on duty tonight, I'll be on duty for him, it's convenient for me to visit the pavilion." Li Yifu bid farewell to Xu Jingzong, got into the carriage, and galloped away to Zhongshu Province. He hurriedly wrote the memorial, and when it was time to light the lamp, he went into the duty room, lit the candle, and read it word by word.He couldn't sit still anymore, got up and walked to the door, staring directly at Da Nei, his heart was uneasy and beating non-stop.The past is like a rushing wave, which fills the chest in an instant.Born in Li Yifu in the tenth year of Emperor Yang of Sui Dynasty, he was forty-two years old at the time. He was originally from Raoyang, Nanzhou (Raoyang County, Hebei Province), and grew up with his grandfather in Yongtai (Yanting County, Sichuan Province). He was born in a family of low-level officials, but he was poor, studious and talented. In the eighth year of Zhenguan, when Li Yifu was 21 years old, Li Daliang, the inspection ambassador of Jiannan Road, inspected Yongtai. Hearing the name of Li Yifu, he wanted to meet this local scholar with a kind of curiosity to help the journey.Summoned for a test, Li Yifu's knowledge and literary talent were indeed very good, so he recommended him to take the "Scholarship" examination. The imperial examinations in the early Tang Dynasty mainly consisted of three subjects: Jinshi, Mingjing and Xiucai. The "Xiu Cai Division" was recommended to the imperial court by the local governor or officials of the same level. If the recommendation is correct, the emperor will reward you.If the countermeasures fail, the recommending officials will not only lose face because of "no knowledge of people", but also be punished. Therefore, the recommenders are extra cautious, and there are not many people who recommend and succeed each year, only a few. "Ming Jing Ke" and "Jin Shi Ke" gradually became the two most important subjects for entering an official. In the Tang Dynasty, those who won the imperial examination had to meet the requirements of body, speech, writing and judgment in addition to passing the countermeasures. "Body" means that the appearance is correct, and there is an official demeanor. "Speech" refers to accurate pronunciation, clear articulation, and fluent speech. "Book" means calligraphy, which refers to well-written characters. "Sentencing" requires the ability to resolve disputes and judge right from wrong.Li Yifu lived up to Li Daliang's recommendation and passed the examination smoothly. His knowledge, eloquence, appearance and manners were all excellent.Especially his youthful vigor, even Emperor Taizong appreciated it very much. However, in the officialdom back then, people from humble backgrounds and without a solid background, no matter how talented they were, it was difficult to be valued and reused. After Li Yifu met Yi many times, his appearance and personality changed dramatically. He was originally slender and strong, with a natural and elegant demeanor. Now he has become tall and thin, with a hunchback, and the smile on his face is humble and false, so someone nicknamed him Cat Li.He had no choice but to accept it, neither resisting nor defending.Wuji felt that this sour look was not suitable for a Beijing official, so he was going to be relegated to the remote Bizhou [Tongjiang County, Sichuan] to be a Sima.Like a bolt from the blue, Li Yifu's bones were about to be shattered. For the officials of the imperial court, it is very uncomfortable to be transferred to a local official, even if it is a promotion, let alone being demoted to a poor village. He came from Bashan and Shu, and he went to Kyoto with great enthusiasm. After more than 20 years of hard work, he was finally promoted. He took charge of the compilation of Jin Shu and became one of the eighteen bachelors of Hongwenguan. If such a somersault falls, as long as Wuji is around, he will never think about turning over again in his life. The more Li Yifu thought about it, the more frightened and anxious he became, he crossed the side street and went to the chapel on the east side of the Shuntian Gate diagonally opposite, sat and stood for a while, fidgeting.Ding Dian'er came out from Chengtianmen with a red silk lantern. He ran over as if he had met a savior, and stuffed a bag of silver. The blind man sees money openly, besides, Ding Dianer is an old acquaintance with him.He weighed the silver with his hand, grinned and said, "Brother Li Mao, can I help you with anything?" "I want to see the emperor." "Knocking on the pavilion?" Ding Dian'er raised her small and round oyster eyes, "What's the matter, so urgent?" "Please make Wu Zhaoyi the queen." Li Yifu handed over the memorial with both hands, "It's not too late." "To tell you the truth, Wu Zhaoyi is my benefactor, and now I have just been transferred to Jiuri Palace as a close attendant. Give me the memorial, and I will pass it on for you." Li Zhi and Wu Zetian are going to bed.Ding Dian'er walked into the Ganlu Hall, presented the memorial, and said excitedly: "Qi Zuo the emperor, Li Yifu, a member of Zhongshushe, knocked on the pavilion and asked for Wu Zhaoyi to be the queen." Li Zhi said "Oh", took the booklet, and opened it.Wu Zetian stood next to Li Zhi and watched, his face gradually showing joy.The memorandum said: "The minister heard that the queen Wang's sinister and vicious behavior hindered women's morality, so it should be abolished as soon as possible. Wu Zhaoyi's female virtues are outstanding, her education is profound, she can be a model of the harem, and her mother respects the world. I beg the sage to follow the wishes of the subjects of the world. Heart, make Wu Zhaoyi a queen long ago." "Well written!" Li Zhi turned his face towards Wu Zetian.Wu Zetian asked with interest: "Where is this person?" "On duty at Zhongshu Province." Little bit replied. "Your Majesty, summon him immediately." Li Zhi ordered Ding Dianer: "Xuan Li Yifu enters the palace." Li Yifu had never entered the inner court before, his chest was thumping, he didn't know whether it was joy or worry or fear, he followed carefully behind Ding Dianer who was holding a lantern, passed through the long backyard, turned around - the red palace lanterns, tiptoeing He stepped over the thick threshold, bent down to enter the hall, and after walking a few steps, he knelt down on the ground: "Li Yifu, a member of Zhongshushe, kowtowed at His Majesty and drove in a fright in the middle of the night. He deserves death." "Li Aiqing is promoted!" Li Yifu stood up.Li Zhi looked at it carefully for a while.Under the bright light, Li Yifu's left shoulder shrugged slightly, his tall and tall figure appeared thin, with a long face, an aquiline nose, narrow eyes showing a smile line, and a goatee hanging from his pointed chin.He looks gentle and docile, but he seems a little pedantic and useless, and there is greed, self-promise and non-compliance in his honesty.Li Zhi first praised his loyalty and hard work, and then said in an encouraging tone: "With such a sparse book, Aiqing doesn't have to knock on the cabinet late at night." "I don't knock on the pavilion, and the memorial has passed through the hands of the Taiwei, so it is difficult to transfer it to Yulan in time. Also, the eldest grandson wants to demote me from Chang'an, and two days later, the words from the bottom of my heart will not be recorded face-to-face." "Are there any people in the DPRK who support Wu Zhaoyi as empress?" "There are many, such as Wang Dejian," Li Yifu said flatteringly, "It's a pity that the Taiwei blocked them all." "You stay here with peace of mind, get in touch with the courtiers more, and come to the palace to play at any time if there is any situation." "I thank the emperor for his kindness." People are in good spirits on happy occasions. When Li Yifu exited the Ganlu Hall, he was overjoyed, his waist was miraculously straightened, his back was no longer hunched, and his long neck stretched out.Like sitting on a spring breeze, he returned to the night duty room of Zhongshu Province happily, happily, happily, and was so excited that he didn't close his eyes all night.Officials on duty at night may not attend the morning court. When others entered the palace to attend the morning court, Li Yifu returned home, ate breakfast, and slept until the sun was setting in the west. After dinner, Gao Yansi and Ding Dian'er were entrusted by Wu Zetian to visit in secret, and rewarded them with a bucket of pearls and ten bolts of silk as a token of comfort and encouragement.Soon, Li Yifu was promoted to the position of Minister of Zhongshu, and he was the fourth rank.Xu Jingzong and Li Yifu publicly supported Wu Zhaoyi as queen, and both were appreciated by Li Zhi. Most of the "dirty officials" followed their example, either writing letters or meeting Li Zhi to clearly express their attitude.Li Zhi gave rewards and encouragement one by one, either explicitly or secretly. After Li Yifu, Wang Dejian also tasted the sweetness. Cui Yixuan, the censor doctor, and Yuan Gongyu, the censor Zhongcheng, began to lean on one side, which greatly strengthened the forces against the Wuji faction.Cui Yixuan is the assassin who suppressed Chen Shuozhen's uprising and made great achievements. He was blessed by misfortune, and he rose to the top because of accidental events.Yuan Gongyu is known for his uprightness, selflessness and fearlessness. They all came from humble backgrounds, and compared with the members of the aristocratic group headed by Wuji, that is, compared with the "clear and important officials", they have obviously become "dirty officials" of low value. The so-called "dirty officials" refer to those officials with low background or low character, who are corrupt, pervert the law, and engage in malpractice for personal gain.Although the camp of "Yongwu" has expanded a lot, the status, fame and energy of its personnel are not enough to compete with the Wuji faction and fight face to face.Wu Zetian was soberly aware of the precariousness of the situation, and was in a dilemma. She was so anxious that she walked back and forth inside and outside the palace. The arrogant Wuji did not take advantage of the victory to pursue, launched a strategic attack, and carried out a devastating blow.He is arrogant, arrogant, and feels very powerful, standing tall and indestructible like a fortress.Suppressing the rebellion incident of Princess Gaoyang with a single gesture, even Li Daozong, Li Ke and other Li family members who have made great achievements and virtues, Li Ke and other Li family ministers, ministers of civil and military affairs such as Zhong Yuwenjie, and so many princesses and son-in-laws are like autumn winds. Like sweeping fallen leaves, they all fell off the horse and swept into the abyss of history. He was intoxicated with himself, and overestimated himself, thinking that Li Ye wouldn't do anything to him, and he didn't dare to do anything to him, so he didn't take Wu Zhaoyi seriously. He even scoffed at those "dirty officials" who were operating in the dark. A small loach cannot make big waves, and a big boat cannot capsize in the gutter. The shrewd and capable Wu Zetian knew himself and the enemy, and always put himself in the position of fighting, and took the initiative to attack when he saw the right time, and fought offensive battles. When the Wuji Group was in a state of rest and hadn't reacted yet, she immediately instructed Xu Jingzong to still use witchcraft as an excuse to make trouble, and wrote to Li Zhi, strongly demanding the abolition of the Queen.Although the goal was not achieved, the vibration was quite strong, as if walking, only the last few steps were left to reach the destination. As the saying goes, if you travel a hundred miles, ninety and a half.In the last short mileage, we must not only persist, but also encourage, and we must be steady, proper, and closely linked. We must not be careless, and beware of negligence and mistakes, so as not to fall short. In August, Yuan Gongyu arrested Pei Xingjian, the magistrate of Xicheng County, Xi'an City, Chang'an County, with lightning speed.Pei Xingjian, born in Jiangzhou (Xinjiang County, Shanxi), was born in a famous family and was eager to learn. He was a student of Hongwen Museum when he was young. He read a lot of books and was proficient in calendar and yin and yang.He once served as Zuo Tunwei and participated in the Cao army. He was a military official with a seventh or eighth rank. The famous general Su Dingfang held him in high esteem and taught him the art of war himself, making him an all-rounder in both literature and martial arts. He was promoted to the county magistrate of Chang'an at the age of thirty-seven.From all the signs, he judged that Wu Zhaoyi had something wrong with him and was about to get out of control. The right servant Shechu Suiliang also felt the same way.The two met to find Changsun Wuji and discussed how to deal with Wu Zhaoyi. "The temptress is vicious," Pei Xingjian said eagerly, "and she is scheming, and the Empress Lu of the Han Dynasty can't compare to her. If she is not eliminated as soon as possible, it will bring disaster to the community." "The emperor is obsessed with obsession and protects her everywhere. He doesn't listen to what I say, but thinks I'm troublesome." Changsun Wuji looked embarrassed. "The Taiwei can enter the palace at any time, why not arrest her and torture her first. Once you have a confession, please ask the emperor to execute her." "It would be too reckless to do so, and the influence will not be good. It is better to persuade the emperor." "The situation has developed to the point where the situation is at odds, and the urgency is like sparks. The Taiwei should not hesitate any longer." "It's not difficult to execute a little Zhaoyi, but it can't damage the majesty of the emperor. The old man has his own arrangements, you can follow my wink and act." "Preemptively attack others, and then attack others. Taiwei, it's not too late." "I'm feeling it too." Chu Suiliang emphasized, "The temptress has great powers, once it becomes a climate, it will be difficult to deal with it." "Don't think too complicated. Her feet can't cross the threshold of the inner palace, what can she do to us?" "But her hands are very long." Pei Xingjian raised his eyes to look at Changsun Wuji, "It has already been stretched outside, and has already caught many people who have worked for her." "She can catch you too." "With Taiwei's words, Pei can do it." "However, you can't grab it casually, you must pay attention to the impact." "Taiwei, Mr. Pei is leaving." Pei Xingjian arched his hands, turned and walked out of Wuji's mansion. When Yuan Gongyu got the news, he rushed to the residence of Mrs. Yingguo Yang in Xiuxiangfang, invited her to enter the palace late at night, and told Wu Zhaoyi.Wu Zetian used her unique method of defeating each of them to choose the weakest link among Changsun Wuji, Chu Suiliang and Pei Xingjian.Time is running out, and danger is at hand. She encourages Li Zhi to use the "Mo Chi" that takes effect immediately without going through the Zhongshu and the two provinces, and transfers Pei Xingjian to be the governor of the Xizhou Governor's Office. The next morning, the air was dull and tense. When all the officials were waiting in the court hall to enter the palace, they knew that Pei Xingjian had transferred out of Chang'an.Changsun Wuji was shocked, because Li Zhi always respected him and never used "Mo Chi".He has an extroverted personality, and all his emotions and anger hang on his iron-like dark rectangular face, his eyes are so bulging that their eyeballs are about to burst out, and his clenched fists are almost bleeding.Xizhou is the seat of the Gaochang Kingdom that was destroyed by the famous general Hou Junji in the 14th year of Zhenguan. It is located in the Turpan Basin in the eastern section of the southern foot of the Tianshan Mountains. The basin is 155 meters lower than sea level, while the Tianshan Mountains are tall and straight, generally at an altitude of 3,000 to 5,000 meters. The hot wind blowing from the Gobi weathered this place into a wasteland, known as the Isle of Fire. The place is sparsely populated, and the ethnic group is Hu Fan with curly hair, blue eyes, and a high nose, as if they were alienated. The official ranks of the governor's governor and the Chang'an county magistrate are both the fifth grade. This transfer can be said to be a combination of blows, punishments, and relegation. However, Pei Xingjian did not recover after a setback, and endured the training of a difficult environment. Later, with his amazing will and soul power, he did a vigorous career, expanded the territory of the Western Regions, and made useful contributions to the development of the Western Regions. This is something to say later, so I won’t press it for the time being. In September, following Li Yifu, Xu Jingzong was promoted to Minister of Rites. The cadres of the martial arts faction are constantly promoted, and the lineup continues to grow. However, Liu Shi and Pei Xingjian of the Wuji faction were relegated successively, which dampened their spirits.Wu Zetian is a woman who will not die until the Yellow River, she is tenacious and far-sighted, she feels that the public opinion of the lower class is more and more in favor of her, and the upper class has not yet thawed, so she urged Li Zhi to light a fire.In the early morning, Li Zhi summoned the elder Sun Wuji, Chu Suiliang, Yu Zhining and Li Jin to discuss matters in Liangyi Hall.Li Jin excused himself from being unwell and asked for sick leave.Li Jin, originally surnamed Xu and Shijin, was given the surname Li by Li Yuan, the great ancestor, so he was named Li Shijin. After the death of Emperor Taizong Li Shimin, the word "Shi" was removed because of avoiding taboos. Before his death, Emperor Taizong played tricks to test his loyalty and demoted him to be the governor of Diezhou (Diebu County, Gansu Province) for no reason. On the third day after Li Zhi ascended the throne, in accordance with Taizong's secret will, he was promoted as a special officer, inspected as the governor of Luozhou, and stayed behind in Luoyang Palace.Li Jin still returned to Chang'an silently by the same route as when he took office, and then changed to Zuo Pushe and resumed his phase. He was born in a well-to-do farmer's family in Shandong, and followed Li Shimin across the world, and was one of the founding heroes of the Tang Dynasty. His military ability is outstanding, and he has made great achievements repeatedly.Like Wei Ting, the famous prime minister of the Tang Dynasty, he has the feeling of "being grateful for life" towards Taizong. But since Taizong tried it, it was self-defeating, and Li Jin was chilled, and he always treated the court with indifference. At this time, Li Jin was the only surviving founding father of Tang Xuguo, a national treasure, and served as Sikong. He is over sixty years old, but his physique is still strong and strong, with an imposing manner and a dignified general demeanor. He has a dignified appearance, his eyebrows look like painted paint, his eyes are like cold stars shining, his majestic wind is still there, and he still has the look of rivaling ten thousand husbands.Because of the freezing in my heart, seeing through the ruthlessness of the emperor, life is like a dream, and it is unpredictable, so I have become quite cautious in dealing with people.Never express your inner thoughts and feelings easily, and your attitude is ambiguous. "Tranquility and indifference, seeking good fortune and avoiding evil" has become his motto and philosophy of life.Due to the absence of Sikong and Li Jin, all the ministers present objected unanimously, and the court council broke up in an uproar, and Li Zhi retreated into the harem in despair.Seeing Li Zhi's miserable face and trembling white lips, Wu Zetian speculated that he had run into trouble again. She pretended to be as if nothing had happened, and said with a smile: "Your Majesty, there is nothing to be angry about. Hold your breath. It is better to plan than to be anxious. All in all, you are the monarch, and they have to listen to you after all." "right."
