After King Jie Ri got the report, he personally went to greet him with thousands of torch boats that night... Xuanzang was about to meet King Jieri. This was an important journey of his journey to the west, and it was also the most glorious stage of his stay in India. King Kumara personally escorted Xuanzang to King Jieri. On the Ganges River, with banners covering the sun and tens of thousands of boats breaking through the waves, King Kumara sent Xuanzang with a mighty army of 20,000 elephants and 30,000 boats to the country of Jiezhuzuizhiluo, the country where King Jieri lived. .

When he reached the north bank of the Zekega River, King Kumara placed Xuanzang in the palace he had prepared, and sent someone to inform King Jieri. After King Jieri received the reward, all his anger disappeared, and before dawn, he personally greeted Xuanzang from the waterway with thousands of torch boats that night. After King Kumara heard the news that King Jieri came to greet him in person, he also ordered to light a torch and lead his officials to welcome him from a distance. Soon, I heard the sound of rhythmic drums that only King Jieri can have when he travels... After hearing this, King Kumara stood up quickly, and after a while, under the light of thousands of torches, King Jieri came step by step with the music of drums. His guards were lined up on both sides, the swords were shining brightly under the torches, and the king of the sun was followed by his ministers...

King Jieri came, and King Kumara came forward and saluted, saying: "Honorable and mighty five great kings of India, you see, I have sent Venerable Master Xuanzang here." "thanks." After King Jieri returned the salute to King Kumara, he walked up to Xuanzang and bowed to him. Xuanzang hurriedly helped King Jieri up.When King Jieri and King Kumara brought Xuanzang to the palace of King Jieri, it was already dawn, and they were welcomed by thousands of monks and laymen. People threw flowers on their heads in handfuls. After entering the palace, Xuanzang was allowed to sit in the middle of the seat, and King Jieri and King Kumara sat on both sides of him.

That night, King Jieri held a grand Suzhai banquet in the palace to welcome Xuanzang. During the banquet, the music of the Tang Dynasty in China sounded, and a group of warriors came out to perform "The Music of the King of Qin Breaking the Battle". The warriors changed their formation and danced majesticly. After the dance, the actor dressed as King Qin received warm applause from everyone.King Jieri gave them generous rewards. King Jieri excitedly said to Xuanzang: "I admire King Qin very much. He is now the emperor of the Tang Dynasty. It is said that when he was young, he was mighty and majestic. He once led the army to conquer the north and south, quelled the turmoil and unified the world, and brought auspiciousness to the people. Therefore, I like it very much. This is a piece of music in praise of him. Today, I played it at the banquet welcoming you, the eminent Chinese monk, to express my respect for the emperor of the Tang Dynasty."

Xuanzang nodded and said, ""The Music of the King of Qin Breaking the Battle" is a piece of music that praises Li Shimin, the current emperor of the Tang Dynasty, when he was the King of Qin. In the Tang Dynasty, this piece of music was played every time the palace banquet was held." "Oh." King Jieri nodded, and asked again, "I don't know what kind of words it is?" Xuanzang replied that the main idea of the lyrics is: Xuanzang also said: "Since Emperor Taizong Li Shimin ascended the throne, every year on the third day of the first lunar month, this piece of music has been played when the ministers are feasting. There are as many as 120 performers and dancers, and it is very spectacular."

"Ah, it's amazing." King Jie Ri said enviously. Xuanzang also said: "Your Majesty, you have pacified the heroes and unified the five Indias. Your deeds are the same as our Chinese Emperor Li Shimin of the Tang Dynasty. You have made immeasurable merits for the country and the people. The Emperor of the Tang Dynasty and you both admire Buddhism. This is also our Buddhism. an honor." King Jieri said happily: "Buddhism is merciful and compassionate, and the purpose of helping all living beings is indeed worthy of admiration, otherwise, how could so many people welcome you!"

Xuanzang said, "Thank you, Your Majesty, for your invitation." Xuanzang also said to everyone: "Chang'an and Luoyang in China are both places where Buddhism is developed. Buddhism in your country has already spread to the east. Whether in Chang'an or Luoyang, there are many Buddhist temples, and the monks and laymen worship it. The emperor of the Tang Dynasty also believes in Buddhism. Welcome everyone to our east. Look." After hearing this, King Jie Ri looked at the East with infinite longing and said: "I will send envoys to Chang'an to establish a long-lasting friendship with Datang. If there is a chance, I will definitely visit your country."

Xuanzang hurriedly said: "The citizens of Datang will welcome you." King Kumara said: "I also want to send envoys to Chang'an." Xuanzang said happily: "It doesn't matter how big or small the relationship between countries is, or how much there is between sects. Our country will welcome you just the same." The welcome state banquet ended in a warm and pleasant atmosphere. On this day, King Jieri listened to Xuanzang preaching to the eminent monks in the palace. The princess asked Xuanzang for advice: "Master, I have a question that I have not solved for a long time, can I ask the Master for advice?"

"Princess, please speak." Only then did Xuanzang take a closer look at this dignified and beautiful princess with elegant attire who was about twenty-five or six years old. The princess clasped together and said: "My disciple and my brother have believed in Buddhism for a long time, but some problems have not yet been resolved. For example, if we are both Buddhists, why do the two schools of Madhyamaka and Yoga keep abreast of each other, making it difficult to see peaceful clouds in the sky of the Buddhist world?" Xuanzang clasped his hands together and replied: "Buddhist sects are divided, which is right and which is wrong, which is the purpose of the poor monk's westward journey to learn scriptures. Madhyamaka believes in emptiness, emphasizing 'dependent origin and emptiness'; but in yoga, 'only consciousness has no boundaries', 'the mind of all dharmas', In this way, the two schools have a difference between the "empty school" and the "you school". In fact, both schools have Buddha nature, since the purpose of practice is to save suffering and save others, why bother to quarrel?"

The princess nodded reverently. Xuanzang went on to say: "Monk Ziguang, the master of Nalanda Temple, is a firm believer in Madhyamaka. He wrote "Middle View" and "Hundred Treatises" to challenge the virtuous Master Jie who advocated "Yoga Theory". I wrote "Hui Zong Guan" three Qian Song is just my advice to him, as disciples of Buddhism, we all save ourselves and others, so why fight each other because of different viewpoints?" The princess nodded frequently. "So," Xuanzang continued, "I wrote the 3,000 verses of "Hui Zong Guan" to unite the two major schools of Mahayana Buddhism. The master was ashamed after reading it, and finally gave up attacking the Nalanda Temple. "

The princess heard this and sighed: "What the master said is really true. If Buddhism can't be peaceful, then how can we talk about saving the suffering?" King Jieri listened and praised: "It makes sense. Master, please tell us about the three thousand verses of "Hui Zong Inkstone". Only by integrating the great Buddhism can we deal with the challenge of Hinayana teaching." "Awaiting your majesty's arrangement." Xuanzang readily agreed. King Jie Ri is very happy. After talking with Xuanzang, the princess was even more impressed by the master. King Jieri said again: "I heard that Master has written "On Controlling Evil Views" which criticizes foreign teachers, and I really want to read it." "OK." Xuanzang presented this treatise written in Sanskrit to King Jieri with both hands.King Jieri saw it and appreciated it very much, saying: "I heard that as soon as the sun rises, the fireflies will lose their light, and the thunder will sound, but the hammer and chisel will be silent. After Buddhism has your treatise, other heretics will be eclipsed." Xuanzang hurriedly cupped his hands to thank the king, and said: "Your Majesty is over-rewarding, Xuanzang has little talent and learning, and I hope Your Majesty and all eminent monks will correct me." After the ceremony, Xuanzang was ordered to speak to the eminent monks. The princess is the younger sister of King Jieri. She is sitting next to her brother and looking at Xuanzang ecstatically. She had long heard that Xuanzang looked very much like Sakyamuni, and seeing him today, she was indeed like a Buddha. He also listened to his lectures on the scriptures, the reasoning is profound, and the doubts are cleared up after a little bit of him. I was very happy and admiring.I saw her looking at Xuanzang affectionately, completely forgetting that she was listening to an eminent monk's teaching, as if she was listening to fairy music. The younger sister's mood has been seen through by the elder brother, but King Jieri pretended not to know, and only listened to Xuanzang's teachings devoutly. After Xuanzang finished his lecture, the princess congratulated Xuanzang with clasped hands: "The mage is a real living Buddha. The Buddha's teachings he said are like candlelight in the dark, which immediately illuminates the hearts of all living beings." Xuanzang clasped his hands together and said, "Princess, thank you." Everyone was amazed when they heard this, and surrounded the mage unwilling to leave.Upon seeing this, King Jieri said: "I'm going to hold a big Dharma conference in Qunv City, our capital, and I will inform the kings and monks and laymen from all over the world to come and attend. At that time, I will ask Master Xuanzang to give a lecture on "Restraining Evil Views", so that everyone can have fun. Master Xuanzang thought that how?" Xuanzang nodded and said: "I have been studying Dharma in India for ten years. The kings and subjects of various countries in India have warmly welcomed me. The abbots and eminent monks of Buddhist temples have provided me with good conditions for further study, especially Jiexian Zhengfazang and Master Shengjun. I am grateful to the people of India for many explanations. The King of Prestige and Kumara invited me to give lectures again. Let's communicate." King Jieri was overjoyed when he heard this, and all the monks and laymen present were also very happy. Everyone stood up and put their palms together to thank Xuanzang.
