是日，玉罗刹亲自督工，将铁珊瑚和红花鬼母的坟墓建好，晚上回来，和卓一航吃了晚饭，独自歇了一会，正想把应修阳提来审问，忽见粮仓起火，玉罗刹大吃一惊，拔剑而起，外面女喽兵乱成一片，进来报道：“官军杀来！”玉罗刹道：“官军哪有如此本领？”提剑冲出寨门，忽见慕容冲率领几十名官兵，到处放火，玉罗刹大怒道：“你侥幸逃脱性命，还敢到此。”把手一挥，众喽兵见玉罗刹出来，军心大定，随玉罗刹手势，排成圆阵，和官兵混战。玉罗刹一剑冲前，单觅慕容冲杀。正混战间，西角又乱，月光下只见一群道士，手执长剑，冲进山寨。
原来慕容冲当日逃脱之后，收拾伤亡，除了被玉罗刹刺伤的卫士外，又有几名在雪崩之际，被山石滚下，打得足断手折。剩下能够作战的卫士，不到十名。本已胆寒，想回京再邀帮手。其时适值广元饥民大闹之后，省中官军闻警开来，魏忠贤派在“剿匪军”中的监军连城虎也来到了。连城虎是以前西厂的总教头，和慕容冲原是同僚，闻得慕容冲在此，急来相见，慕容冲叹口气道：“我有生以来，从未受过如此挫折。”连城虎细问情由，慕容冲一一说了。连城虎听得金独异身死，尚没什么，闻得应修阳被擒，却是面色大变。原来魏忠贤应修阳和连城虎都是满洲的内应，连城虎生怕应修阳被迫招认出来，露于天下。急问道：“玉罗刹的名头我也曾听说过，她有多少喽兵？”慕容冲道：“大约有几百吧，都是女的。”连城虎笑道：“几百女喽兵怕她什么，咱们率兵扫平她的山寨。”慕容冲道：“几百女喽兵虽没什么，可是明月峡奇险，大队官军，如何能开上去？加以雪崩封山，此路更难通了。”连城虎想了一想，说道：“听你所说，当日寨中女兵，也有许多被雪崩所阻，不能回山。那么玉罗刹非开通山道接她们回去不可。我在军中大约可挑出几十名有轻功根底的，和你摸进山去。”慕容冲摇摇头道：“还是不行，军中的武士，虽然能摸进山寨，用来抵敌玉罗刹训练有素的女喽兵，数十名尚嫌不移。何况那玉罗刹和岳鸣珂的剑术的确非比寻常。而且其中还牵涉着武当派的掌门。”连城虎道：“怎么？我听说武当派选出新掌门了，名叫什么卓一航的，他们武当派素来不与官府作对，难道卓一航还会与那女魔头在一处？”慕容冲道：“正是，卓一航非但和那女魔甚为亲密，而且还包庇岳鸣珂，卓一航一人倒不足惧，只是武当派的道士，个个武功精强，在广元城中的就有几十名之多，把他们也卷进了漩涡，那就更棘手了。”
连城虎面色大变，道：“应修阳非救出不可。”低声在慕容冲耳边说道：“应修阳是魏公公心腹，得宠不在你我之下，魏公公曾几次叫我多照应他。”慕容冲本来不大瞧得起应修阳，闻言吃了一惊，心道：既然如此，那是非救他不可的了。不觉想起应修阳以前所说的办法，道：“应修阳倒是有一妙策，只是我辈所不屑为。”连城虎忙问道：“什么妙策？”慕容冲道：“与武当派化敌为友，向白石道人赔罪，求他们和我们合伙攻山。”连城虎拍掌笑道：“好啊，正该这样。白石道人气量狭窄，他的掌门弟子被掳，咱们凭这一点就可说得动他。”
应修阳与连城虎料得不差，白石道人等了两天不见卓一航回来，正自生气，但自己不是玉罗刹的对手，又不敢到明月峡要人，听了慕容冲和连城虎的说词，和红云道人考虑许久，竟然接纳，不过提出了三个条件。
白石道人提出的三个条件是：一、各干各的，各不相涉。他们但求寻回掌门，绝不给官兵助战。二、除了玉罗刹外，他们不愿伤人，倘若有女喽兵来攻，他们求自保。因此要官军先去，把女喽兵敌住，好让他们进山寨搜索。三，事情一过，各走各的。以前恩怨也一笔勾销，宫中卫士不能再找武当派的麻烦。慕容冲一一答应，就此约定，当晚各自上山。
再说玉罗刹见到白石道人率众冲入山寨，勃然大怒，喝道：“白石道人，你也助纣为虐么！”女喽兵见寨主动了真怒，又见这群道士冲入山寨，自然的分出人来拦截，白石道人喝道：“把她们手中的兵器打掉！”女喽兵个个奋勇，武当聚弟子不愿伤人，一时间却也不能轻易将女喽兵的兵器夺出手去。白石道人与红云道人连袂攻入，红云道人剑交左手，与白石道人左右分进，武当二老的功力非比寻常，转眼之间，把十余名女喽兵的兵器磕飞，刀枪乱舞，寨中大乱。
玉罗刹哪知白石道人与慕容冲有那三个协定，见他们攻入大寨，只道他们已是与官军一伙，生怕他们也要杀人放火！叱咤一声，唰唰两剑，将慕容冲杀得闪过一边，冲出重围，奔回大寨，一柄剑指东打西，指南打北，武当派弟子哪截得住，直给她杀入核心，白石道人怒喝道：“妖女，快把我们的掌门弟子交回。要不然你今日难逃公道。”玉罗刹怒道：“你真是辱没了紫阳道长的英名，教天下英雄笑话！”剑招疾展，把白石、红云二人全裹在剑光之中。
再说卓一航尚未就寝，蓦见师叔率同门杀入，吓得呆了。揉揉眼睛，知道并非恶梦，难过之极，不知如何自处。过了一阵，听得惨叫之声大作，原来玉罗刹闯回大寨，山寨外的女喽兵那敌得过慕容冲他们的进攻，更兼兵力单薄，阵势大乱，伤亡无数。连城虎率众攻入大寨，就在寨中放起火来，山寨都是木材茅草所建，不比砖石房屋，一被点燃，势即燎原，不可收拾。
卓一航耳闻惨叫，目睹火光，一跃而起，冲了出来，大叫道：“师叔，我在这儿。你们何苦给官军助战！”白石道人道：“好，你立即和我回山。”率武当弟子去接应卓一航，玉罗刹杀得红了眼睛，紧追不舍，她身法快疾，抢先冲到卓一航身边，卓一航说道：“你让我走，抵挡官军要紧。”把岳鸣珂的书抛给她道：“岳兄之托，你替我办了吧。”原来他见师叔如此，这番回去，虽是掌门，也必被看管，所以要把熊经略关系国运的奇书，转交给玉罗刹。
玉罗刹怔了一怔，白石道人已到身后，玉罗刹反手一剑，叮当一声，白石道人的剑几乎给她震飞，红云道人道：“我们接了掌门便走。玉罗刹你硬要与我们武当派作对做什么？”寨中呼声震天！玉罗刹咬牙道：“好，让你们走！”身子一侧，闯出人丛。武当派弟子拥着卓一航全师而退。
这时大寨已全被火舌笼罩，连城虎抢入寨后搜人，慕容冲和玉罗刹在火光中恶战。官军与女喽兵纷纷冲出大寨，霎那间，火势越烧趟盛，看看便成火海。慕容冲与玉罗刹趁着火势尚未合拢，边打边走，闯出外面。逃不及的官军与女喽兵在火海中呼号，转瞬化成灰烬。
这时，女喽兵十九伤亡，官军也折损过半。玉罗刹怒极气极，料不到三年来的心血，苦心建立的根基，一旦灰飞烟灭！更伤心的是：几百名女兵，数年来同生共死，情同姐妹，而今却不知能剩几个逃生。伤心到极，拼了性命，剑戳掌劈，身法如风，片刻之间，连毙十余官军，慕容冲赶来截击，但他身法不若玉罗刹轻灵，玉罗刹在官军中穿来插去，转瞬之间，又毙了十名。
激战中忽闻得有人喊道：“你们散开，追捕喽兵，让我们来对付这妖女。”原来是连城虎已将应修阳救出，应修阳养了两天，脚伤已愈，大叫道：“不要放走这个妖女！”与连城虎左右堵截，玉罗刹大怒，迎面一剑，刺喉咙，戳心窝，攻势奇幻无比，应修阳力挡一招，玉罗刹二三两招，接连发出，招招都是杀手，应修阳险丧生在剑锋之下，幸得连城虎背后袭到，双钩闪闪，急来救护，玉罗刹反手一剑，叮当一声，将双钩格开，各自震退几步，应修阳出了一身冷汗，举起拂尘，只敢在侧面助攻。
连城虎曾为西厂卫士的总教头，在宫廷的校尉卫士之中，武功仅在慕容冲之下，却在应修阳之上，双钩遮拦攻拒，居然敌了十多招，慕容冲挥拳冲上，成了合围之势。将玉罗刹困在核心。
