Chapter 9 postscript

"Poetry of Martial Arts Madness" started from this volume, and the story development has entered another step. The focus has gradually shifted from the previous purely writing about "martial arts" to the stage of emphasizing "chivalry", and will also write more about the mentality and relationship of the characters.I think readers will feel the reason for such layout after reading it, so I won’t make redundant explanations here. When writing long-form serial works, some people will consider it from a purely computational point of view: since a plot writing method is accepted by readers, they will continue to "overweight" it until readers start to get tired of watching it before thinking about how to change it.I don't like this idea myself, and I don't want to wait until the moves get old to change them in a hurry, which hinders the transformation and growth of the long story. The author should lead the reader.

Is there any risk in this insistence? There must be, and it is not small. But creation is inherently a constant adventure. It is safer to cling to the achievements that have already been made; but I firmly believe that if it is changed to Jingchi, I will definitely not take this path.
Suzuki Haidu in the Japanese drama "Beachboys" said a very interesting line: "All the things you do in life, none of them are useless." I started learning martial arts when I was a teenager, and I didn't even think that it would have any major impact on my future life.Since the publication of "The Poetry of Martial Arts Madness", I have done a lot of publicity and interviews, only to find that the media and the public are so interested in a "martial arts novel writer who has practiced martial arts", which is really unexpected.

Also because of this little background in martial arts, I even got the chance to shoot TV recently: I was photographed by Radio Television Hong Kong to shoot their documentary series "Kung Fu Legend".Being the host of a martial arts program is an experience I never thought about before. I don't know if it was a deliberate choice by the producer or a coincidence, but the theme I was in charge of for that episode was the strongest martial art that I wrote many times in "The Poetry of Martial Arts" - Tai Chi.I hope that what I have seen, heard and experienced this time can help me write better in the future.

Filming this show has a lot of action, so of course it was hard work, but the whole process was very enjoyable. Not only did I meet a lot of new martial arts friends, but I also got a taste of what it’s like to be an action actor—to tell you the truth, as a martial arts actor, I used to be It's not something I haven't fantasized about (laughs). Sometimes my shoulders and neck are stiff from being thrown by my opponent, but knowing that I have completed a set of sparring that looks good in front of the camera, the excitement is enough to overwhelm the pain.Li Jia, another host of the same program, also said similar things.Maybe people who like to practice martial arts have some self-abuse factors in their bodies?

But after all, I am not young, this is probably the only and last time I have the opportunity to do such a program, it is a very precious and unforgettable experience.
This volume of "Poetry of Martial Arts" will welcome the second Hong Kong Book Fair since the launch of the series.Excited just thinking about it. What has happened to me and what I have done in the past two years seems to be several times that of before. But no matter what I did and what happened, one thing remains clear: my "first identity" is still a writer of novels. Qiao Jingfu June 19, 2010
