这一下变故可没一人料想得到。众人一呆之下，一齐拥到门前，鼻中只闻到一阵焦臭，跟着热气扑上身来，那厅门竟是极厚的铁门，而且烧得炽热。陈禹给黏在门上，片刻间已然烫死。众人为铁门上的热气所逼，都向后退。 众人看明真相，惊诧更甚。王剑英叫道：“师嫂，怎么一回事啊？”却不听商老太回答，转身寻人时，不但商老太母子影踪不见，连厅中传送酒菜的仆人也已个个躲得不知去向。王剑英脸上遮上一道阴影，急步走向内堂，却见通向内堂之门也已紧闭。那门正中绘了一个八卦，乌沉沉的似乎也是钢铁所铸。他不敢伸手去推，只走上两步，登觉一股热气扑面而至，却是后门也给烤热了。 王剑杰大声叫道：“商家师嫂，你捣什么鬼啊，快出来！”他声音洪亮，四壁回音反震，更加响亮。众人自然而然地抬起头来，但见那厅除了厅口一排长窗作为间隔的屏风之外，竟没向外开启的一扇窗子，前后铁门一闭，关得密不通风，连苍蝇也飞不出去。 众人面面相觑，这才省悟，原来商家堡这座大厅建造之时已别具用心，门用铁铸，不设窗户，瞧来墙壁也是极其坚厚，非铁即石。马行空提起一条长凳，双臂运劲，“嘿”的一声，往墙上撞去，长凳从中断为两截，墙上白粉簌簌簌落下几块，露出内里的花岗石来。王剑英摆个马步，运劲于掌，双掌向墙壁排击过去。以他这一击之力，寻常墙壁纵不洞穿，也要打得土崩砖裂，但这墙壁显是以极厚极重的岩石砌成，在王剑英双掌并击之下，竟尔纹丝不动。 王剑杰心慌意乱，不住叫嚷：“商家师嫂，你干什么？快开门！快开门！” 赵半山沉住了气，欲寻出路，但想：“这大厅如此建造，本意就要害人，屋顶上也必布置严密，冲不出去。” 王剑杰叫了几声，心中害怕起来，住口不叫了，望着兄长，没半点主意。 这时厅中留着的是赵半山、胡斐、孙刚峰、吕小妹、王氏兄弟、马行空、徐铮、殷仲翔，一共九人，还加陈禹一具尸体。除吕小妹外，其余八人武功均自不弱，但困在这座铁铸石砌的厅中，空有全身武功，却没半点施展之法，一时你望我，我望你，不知如何是好。 忽听得一个阴恻恻的声音着地传来：“你们自命英雄好汉，今日想逃出我商家堡的铁厅，那叫做千难万难。这铁厅是先夫商剑鸣亲手所建，他虽死去多年，还能制你们的死命。众位大英雄，你们可服了么？”随即哈哈大笑。众人听得毛骨悚然，循声望去，原来商老太这番话是从墙脚边一个狗洞中传进来的。 王剑英俯下身来，对着狗洞叫道：“师嫂，我兄弟与剑鸣师哥同门共师，有恩无仇。你把咱兄弟也关在这里，那算怎么一回事？”商老太又阴恻恻地笑了几下。 狗洞中传进来柴火爆裂的劈啪之声，显是外面火头烧得极猛。 只听商老太枯哑的声音说道：“剑鸣不幸为奸贼胡一刀所害，你既与他有同门之谊，就该设法报仇。今日遇上仇人之子，你兄弟俩却怕了外人，袖手不顾，这等不仁不义之人，活在世上何用？”王剑英道：“剑鸣师哥的死讯，我们今日才听到，更不知是胡一刀所害的。倘若早知，自然已为他报了大仇。”商老太冷笑道：“你抹了良心，说这等鬼话。”王剑英说道：“刚才我手上受伤中毒，不也是为了……为了……”一言未毕，只听嗖的一声，狗洞中射进一枝箭来，若非王剑杰眼快，抢上一步踏住，伏在地下的王剑英还得中箭受伤。 殷仲翔也知无法跟商老太辩驳求情，问道：“商剑鸣造这座铁厅，想害什么人？”王剑英怒道：“这人跟先父学艺之时，为人就不正派，鬼鬼祟祟地起这等房子，还能安什么好心眼了？” 胡斐心想：“那商剑鸣打不过我爹爹，便造了这座铁厅，想用来害他，哪知这脓包还是死在我爹爹手里。”他口里却不说话，四下察看，找寻脱身之计。 胡斐的推想却也错了。商剑鸣与胡一刀索不相识，他是与苗人凤结卩了仇，上门杀了苗人凤的兄弟和妹子，情知这号称“打遍天下无敌手”的金面佛极不好惹，总有一日要找上门来，如比武不胜，就可用这铁厅制他。哪知找上门来的不是苗人凤而是胡一刀。商剑鸣一向自负，全不将胡一刀放在眼里，一战之下，不及使用铁厅，就给胡一刀杀了。商老太既知胡一刀已死，而他儿子胡斐武功既强，又得赵半山相助，大仇难复，乘着赵半山与陈禹相斗、众人凝神观战之际，她悄悄与儿子出厅，悄悄关上了前后铁门，指挥家丁堆柴焚烧。这座铁厅门坚墙厚，屋顶铁铸，外面烧火，厅中各人竟未知觉，待得陈禹烧死在铁门之上，各人已如笼中之鸟，插翅难飞了。 众人在厅中绕走彷徨，好在那厅极大，铁门虽然烧红，热气还可忍耐。赵半山道：“咱们总不成在这儿生生困死，大伙儿齐心合力，掘一条地道出去。”殷仲翔皱眉道：“此处又无铁铲锄头，待得掘出，人都烤熟了。” 徐铮一直担心未婚妻子马春花隔在厅外，不知会有什么遭遇，他是个莽夫，空自焦急，想不出半点法子，这时听赵半山说到掘地道，大声道：“赵三爷说得对，总是胜过束手待毙。”拔出单刀，将地下的一块大青砖挖起，突见一股热气冒将上来。 他吓了一跳，伸刀在热气上升处一击，只听当的一响，竟为金铁撞击之声。众人更加惊诧。王剑杰道：“地底也是铁铸的？”用刀接连撬起几块青砖，果然下面连成一片，整个厅底乃是一块大钢铁。掘地道固然不用说了，更唬人的是，地面上的热气越冒越旺。徐铮骂道：“妈巴羔子，老虔婆在地底下生火，这厅子原来是只大铁镬。” 胡斐笑道：“不错，老婆子要把咱们九个人煮熟来吃了。” 众人眼见热气袅袅上冒，无不心惊。过得片刻，头顶也见到了热气，原来厅顶也是铁板，上面显然也堆了柴炭，正在焚烧。 王剑英又伏到狗洞之前，叫道：“商师嫂，你放我们出来，我兄弟为你取那姓胡的小杂种性命。”胡斐听他出言不逊，提起脚来往他屁股上踢去。赵半山拉住他手臂向后一扯，这一踢登时落空。赵半山低声道：“这里大伙儿须得同舟共济，自己人莫吵，要先想法子出去。”心想：“只要商老太肯放王氏兄弟，便有脱身之机。” 却听商老太说道：“小杂种的性命早已在我手中，何必要你假惺惺相助？再过半个时辰，你们人人都成焦炭。哈哈，这里面没一个好人。姓胡的小杂种、马老头子，厅上好风凉吧？” 马行空皱眉不答。商老太又枭啼般笑了几声，叫道：“马老头子，你的女儿我会好好照料她，你放心，我给她找一千个一万个好女婿。”她这句话，显是说要将他女儿折磨后卖入窑子。马行空心如刀割，他年纪已大，对自己性命倒不怎么顾惜，只担心独生爱女落在外面，痛受这恶毒的老婆子折磨，必定苦不堪言。 王剑英站起身来，在兄弟耳边说了几句话，王剑杰点了点头。王剑英向赵半山拱了拱手，说道：“赵三爷，咱们同在难中，兄弟可有句不中听的言语。”赵半山拉着胡斐的手，说道：“一切全凭王大哥吩咐。可是要伸手加害这小兄弟，却万万办不到。”赵半山见王氏兄弟交头接耳，已知二人为了活命，想先杀胡斐，再向商老太求情。 王剑英为他一言点破了心事，脸带杀气，厉声道：“赵三爷，商老太的对头只这孩子一人。冤有头，债有主！大伙儿犯不着一齐陪个孩子做鬼。”他向众人逐一望去，说道：“各位说冤是不冤？”殷仲翔立即接口：“除了这孩子，大伙儿跟这件事全没牵连。”王剑英道：“马老镖头，你怎么说？”马行空自忖商老太与己有仇，未必能放过自己师徒，但眼前情势危急异常，只有设法脱身先说，胡斐是死是活，原也不放在心上，便道：“王大爷说得是，此事原与旁人无涉。” 王剑英道：“孙大哥，你来赶这趟浑水，那更加犯不着。姓陈的已经烧死，你与吕家小妹妹的仇已经报了。”孙刚峰觉得他的话有理，不过心中极感赵半山之情，实不便公然与他作对，劝道：“赵三爷，不是兄弟不顾义气，倘是你赵三爷……” 赵半山厉声喝道：“你们有六个，我们只两人。咱们倒先瞧瞧，是姓赵姓胡的先死呢，还是你们姓王姓殷的先死。”说着挡在胡斐身前，神威凛凛。他平时面目慈祥，说话温和，心肠又极软，但面临生死关头，“仁侠”二字却顾得极
