叶缤以为忍大师欲令二女承她衣钵，自己炼法断无不知之理，万不会令二女来向自己学步，闻言果然深信。略微沉吟，答道：“那妖妇既与你们结下杀子之仇，委实是你二人隐患。此人神通变化，邪法高强，便我亲去除她，也是难极。尚幸机缘凑巧，我近炼此书，乃东晋神僧绝尊者灭魔宝箓……内中恰有制她之法。不过习了此书，虽具无上降魔威力，但亦利害相兼。尤其是习后不慎，妄肆威力，不特多造孽因，于本身修为上害处更大，必须慎重。妖妇和轩辕师徒、蚩尤坟中三怪，都是来去如电，声到人到。你二人不久便要下山，虽有佛法护身，一则皈依佛门未久，遇上寻常妖邪自然不在话下，似这类强敌，却是难料；二则你二人经历甚浅，无甚机心，妖妇捷如响应，仇恨又深，说来就来，随时随地都可侵害。你们毕竟不能终年均在神光护身之下，一个不曾防备，变出非常，吃她骤然暗算，便难抵御。固然你们累世修为，福缘深厚，不致遭她毒手，但吃亏却所不免。这部灭魔宝箓……你二人完全习去，无益有害；并且你们将来成就远大，到时自具佛家上乘法力，也无须乎此，本来万不能传。我想你二人此时功候未到，妖妇毒害不可不防，只把破她的法习去，以为目前防身之计，也还无碍。只是你二人俱是天资灵慧，此书注释详明，一见即可通晓。只要当时记下，日后自能练习应用。传授不难，但只许习此一法，不许窥读别章，若是那样，便不传授。不要贪多好奇，少时学完，又来缠磨要学别的。” 二女闻言，知已上套，好生欢喜，同声应诺不迭。叶缤随将桌上那本宝箓捡出一章，令二女同阅，并加讲解。二女见这宝箓长约一尺三寸，宽只三四寸，非纸非绢，色作金黄，异香芬馥，不知何质所制。上面满是篆引符箓，并且另有注释和偈咒用法，果然详明，一见即可通晓。于是故意装作老实听话的情景，不去翻动，静听讲解。眼看一章习完，叶缤待要将书合上，重新叙谈，忽见洞顶白光连闪。叶缤笑道：“你父亲不知有何要事与我通灵，时间也不知久暂。现用法力将此书禁制，你二人不许淘气，设法偷看。”谢琳将小嘴一撇，故作顽皮神气，答道：“叶姑既不放心我们，请收起来吧。放在桌上，我们是要偷了逃走的啊。”叶缤急于和谢山问答，微笑了笑，也未搭话，将手一指，案上那堆金砂立化成一幢金花宝焰，将书笼罩。跟着双目垂帘，便在座上入定。
