“耿鲲先未看见空中还有一人，正在口中怒啸喝骂，电驰飞扑而来。不料韩仙子早将罗网暗中展布开来，只等他来入网。眼看就要往岛上扑到，倏地空中张开一片雾縠冰绡般的大网，竟将耿鲲挡住，眼看青光一闪，便要包没上来。总算耿鲲法力高强，百忙中未曾入网，先自警觉。无如去势太骤，来势也急，一任他玄功变化，飞遁神速，也是无及。那网薄薄一层，色如淡烟，才一现出，耿鲲识得此宝来历妙用，是他对头，情知不能就此全身而退，于是两翼一振，飞出两根十余丈长的火柱，竟将网口略微撑住，未被合拢。紧跟着怪吼一声，身形一晃，缩小了十之七八，弹丸一般，由网隙中飞逃出去，逃得尤为神速，由下仰望，直未看见他是如何出来的。韩仙子随即现身，呼叱道：'你这扁毛妖孽！今日恶贯未满，特地网开一面，不然，你能在我手中逃走么？'说时，手指处，那网忽由外而内，风卷残云，往里反兜上去，将那两根火柱包没，火光立灭，化为两根尺多长的鸟羽，落在网内。往下飞落的两个夜叉一般的妖徒，也在网现出时，吃两道碧色宝光腰斩，尸落海内。后来才知虎头和尚之逃，也是为韩仙子法宝所伤。耿鲲瞥见妖徒惨死，自信平生无敌，连在东北两海吃了这等大亏，认作奇耻大辱。明知强弱相差，意独不服，既想与仇敌拼命，又想收回所失鸟羽。一见韩仙子现形，火柱被网消灭，现出原形，才知厉害，万非其敌，自然不肯白送性命。不等话完，早洒了一串火星，毒口咒骂，不住厉声怒啸，往来路破空遁去，晃眼投向天际密云之中，无影无踪。 “乙真人说，耿鲲记仇心重，故在他未到以前，便把弟子身形隐去。事完之后，赐了两道灵符，随令弟子起身，赶到鳌极洞中。乌神叟得诸位师叔之助，已将躯壳脱去，见面尚欲掩饰，吃弟子道破。匆匆说了来意，立即飞入冰原密径，加急追赶。料诸位师叔隐身飞行，声光全隐，一直飞到尽头，也未遇上。验看出口，又似无人通过；再一算那时候，也没这么快。方在寻思，便听出后面飞行之声甚微，如非耳目还稍灵敏，差一点，决听不出。忙即闪入旁室等候。诸位师叔果在后面现身飞来，移开冰墙，相继出去。因李师叔和甄师叔出时口气好似想见弟子，正欲现身拜见，忽想起乙真人的训示，不敢违背。等诸位师叔走后一会儿，方始开洞走出。 “陷空岛的地理一切禁忌，以及岛宫虚实、出入门户，昔向家父请问，知道不少。初下山时，来此省亲，拜见岛主，还到过宫中两次。又得乙真人指点，愈发可以偷混进去。因绣琼原上到处均有岛宫徒众在彼种植灵药，栽培花树，每一花林峰峦，差不多均设有奇门隐遁之法，外人只要进那重关，他们便自警觉。无论人多人少，均隐身在奇门遁甲里，一面分出人来，去往岛宫禀报；一面注视来人动静，是否仇敌上门生事，随时往岛宫报警。如在平日，凡是师叔这等生人到此，岛主闻报有人到来求见，照例不问来历，首先命人迎出辞谢，拒而不见。一面再以法力推算，来人如只请见一面，或是有求而来，还可好好出去；稍存敌意，或是于他有害，当时便难脱身。即便算出来人有大来头，本非相识，已然辞谢于先，也是休想得见。当时偏巧宫中有事，正在外岛水宫召集徒众密议，只家父一人在绣琼原内岛代他办一要事。那入报的，是个初通人言的海中精怪，只说绣琼原进来生人，语焉不详。自来不是深知底细的人，多往外岛叩拜求见，能深入绣琼原内岛的绝少。家父误以为是弟子有什么急事，或因钓鳌受伤，冒险来此求救，令先勿往前岛水宫通报。匆匆把手中事办完，正欲出宫观看明白，来的是否弟子，再作计较。这一耽延，诸位师叔已然行抵中央海岸，由二位师叔通名求见了，家父这才知道自己料错。来人已然深入腹地，沿途无人通报，家父恐岛主怪罪执役诸人，忙即赶往前岛禀告。并在旁劝说，峨眉开府，对他师徒如何优礼，现命门人数万里远来，如似别人那等谢绝拒见，于理不合，焉知日后无有相烦之处？ “岛主被家父说动，方始延请二位师叔入见。问明来意之后，忽想起将来有一为难之事，也许能为之助，但不知诸位师叔法力如何，能否胜任？于是借着盗取灵药，以作试验。明为制压河图五行，直下丹井取药，实则全宫数十层关口，最主要的只是那寒光、玄玉两个冰魄寒精所主持的六合寒冰之阵和那战门，再便是那丹室下面
