金蝉、阿童天性极仁厚，一向不为过分之事。又知妖僧自从当年败在嵩山二老手内，永不再往人间作恶。就是以前也只脾气古怪，专喜侮弄轻视他的人，并未听说犯什大恶。否则不待今日，二老先放他不过。虽说对待九姑姊弟淫凶残忍，人并未被害死。然而不知怎的，心生厌恶，立意置之于死，并无丝毫宽容之念。妖僧得道年久，深悉前因。本还想令韦蛟求说，及至见到为首两个敌人竟是夙孽，又见众人多半对他嫉视，情知不免，不由长叹一声，一言不发。这时干神蛛仍未现身，众人再唤，只答了一声：“我还有事，行再相见。”韦蛟却跪在石生面前，抱膝痛哭，代师乞命，不住哀声求告说：“自己如无前师收容，传以道法，不等得见恩主与诸位师长，早已惨死，哪有今日？如非舍不得前生恩主，今世恩师，真恨不能代他一死。望乞诸位仙师念在前师虽是旁门，无甚恶行，敛迹已久，此次威逼九姑，实因大劫情急，出此下策，万非得已。如蒙恩施格外，网开一面，弟子有生之日，均是戴德之年。” 众人虽多痛恨妖僧，毕竟素性宽厚，见韦蛟如此忠义，全被感动。石生尤其可怜爱徒，首先力主释放，许其自新之路。便向空高呼：“干道友，你看我徒儿分上，把法宝收去吧。”随听干神蛛答道：“这厮神通变化，邪法甚高，内人出其不意，才将他师徒擒住。我这人言行如一，说收就收。不过等他有了防备，再想除他，那就难了。”语声听去甚远，却又好似在妖僧身上发出。众人均觉奇怪，重又请其现身，干神蛛未答。石生因见韦蛟哭得可怜，众人已有允意，二次说道：“这类妖人，我也明知他未必能够改悔。我和蝉哥哥他们已然答应徒儿放他，未便说了不算，请做个整人情吧。”随听答说：“石道友，依你。”便无应声。妖僧身缠白影忽然不见，立有一片青光笼罩全身。阿童当他又要闹鬼，石生连忙拦住，方说：“妖僧伎俩不过如此，无须怕他。”金蝉已大声喝道：“无知秃贼！看韦师侄分上，已然饶你狗命，你还不走，尚欲何为？”妖僧苦笑道：“你休多疑，贫僧绝无他意。只因自知今生虽无大罪，夙孽太重，大劫将临，不可避免。诸位道友既然看在小徒薄面，何妨成全到底？” 话未说完，忽然一道青光破空疾驶而来，老远便喝：“诸位道长，千万休放妖僧元神逃走。”妖僧看出仇人飞来，知道绝望，不俟众人答言，立纵遁光朝空飞去，势甚神速，与来人正撞在一起。众人因为韦蛟忠义所感，决计放他，不曾想九姑恰在此时赶来。妖僧惟恐逃不脱，话未说完，忽然遁走。众人一时疏忽，没有留意，等看出两下里对面，才得想起双方仇重，均防妖僧乘机加害。阿童恐救不及，手指处，佛光首先飞起，恰将双方一齐罩定。众人也纷纷赶去。妖僧恨极九姑，本心未始不想报复。及见敌人来势这么快，刚与九姑迎面，未等出手，佛光已然上身。这次与前两次不同，毫未防备，全身竟被罩定，隐身法首先破去。忽然急中生智，停手向众人笑道：“诸位道友已允放我，即便恐留后患，也须等我再来冒犯，下手不晚，何必忙此一时，说了不算呢？”阿童见他逃时行迹虽然可疑，并未出手，反被问住。又见韦蛟满面愁急悲苦之容，飞身追来，挡在妖僧身前，眼巴巴望着自己似要开口求告神气，心越不忍，面上一红，还未答话。石生、金蝉同声喝道：“你这秃贼，行踪鬼祟，居心险诈。既允放你，尽可从容。何况你话未说完，突然飞走，来的又是你的仇人，断定你必有诡谋，方始追来。你不及出手，凶迹未露，总算便宜。我们明知你禀性凶狭，万无改悔，只等你再来伏诛，连句劝诫的话也没有。我弟兄言行如一，怎会失言？此去祸福在你，如敢故态复萌，或来本山侵扰，终于形神俱灭。去吧。”说时，阿童佛光已收。来的青光，正是九姑姊弟把臂同飞。听出众人释放妖僧，方要劝阻，阿童佛光一撤，妖僧已先遁走。众人见他满脸惭愧之容，逃时隐身法已被佛光所破，遁光竟比电还急，只看得一眼，便射向遥空云层之中不见。 石生笑说：“妖僧功力实非寻常，所习也与寻常妖邪不同；便所用法宝、飞剑，除法台妖火而外，多半不带邪气。可惜生性凶横，否则一样可以成道。说他妖邪，似乎稍过。”九姑姊弟随众降落，在旁接口道：“秃贼所得道书，前半本是邪正参半；尤其末几章乃性命要旨，三元秘奥，关系重要。如能得到勤修，用之于正，不仗中部下乘法术任性为恶，照样可以成道，连天劫也可避免。起初许他将双方道书抄录，互相交换，彼此有益，他偏不允，因而成仇，舍弟几遭毒手。愚姊弟并非报仇心切，实在舍弟被困年余，深知秃贼心性险诈，诡计多端，卷土重来，必非易与，连元神也不可放其逃走。否则，诸位道长在此修炼，必是未来隐忧。”又问众人：“妖僧还有几件厉害法宝，可曾见其使用？”众人各说前事。 九姑惊道：“妖僧为报嵩山二老之仇，曾用多年心力，除乌灵妖火之外，尚炼了两件法宝，如何未见使用？定是此宝不曾携带，上来轻敌。惨败以后，九盘岭妖窟又经仙法禁制，不能重返老巢，致未取用。此时逃走，定必往取这两件法宝。一是邪教中有名的黑眚丝。本非妖僧原有之物，不知是何妖人所赠，经其重炼，据说威力甚大，多高法力的人，骤出不意，也为所害。一是妖僧采取地底阴煞之气，会合五金之精所炼阴雷。虽不似九烈神君与轩辕老怪的独门阴雷猛烈阴毒，但是能发能收，化生无穷，晃眼之间，能将方圆十里内化为雷山火海，万干霹雳同时爆炸，随灭随生，另具一种厉害威力。只有土木岛主、商氏二老先天土木二行精气能够破它。此外还有一样用以防身逃遁之宝，名叫火云冲。三宝向藏法台地底石穴之中，平日自负无敌，除每月朔望按时祭炼而外，连门人也只有姬蜃一人见过，从未使用。照此情势，定必逃回，取此三宝，前来报仇。以诸位道长、神僧法力，固然无虑，多厉害的异宝，也难与佛光为敌。但这里本是洞天仙府，被秃贼窃踞多年，经其加工布置，美景甚多，一旦失去，必不甘服，必须防其暗算，加以残毁。最好此时赶去，也许禁制严密，妖僧不能入
