Chapter 38 postscript

In the 1970s, the older generation of proletarian revolutionaries such as Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, and Zhu De had entered their twilight years, but they were still navigating through the world and maneuvering around, steering the giant ship of New China that they created with their own hands, riding the wind and waves, and sailing steadily. They are the great men of the century that I admire most. After several revisions of drafts, I have finally compiled a book of bits and pieces of some major events in the Chinese political arena during Chairman Mao Zedong’s later years that I experienced while working as a security guard on Tiananmen Square. I sincerely hope that I will be involved in these major events The scales and claws and a few words that I have seen and heard can send a little information to the distinguished readers about the major events in the 1970s, which can be regarded as supplementary.

The publication of this book has received the support, help and encouragement of many comrades-in-arms. Here, I would like to express my most sincere thanks to my comrades-in-arms. In order to better reflect the appearance of the year, several link materials and historical pictures are inserted in the book. Some of the photos used in the book were taken by me, my comrades-in-arms, friends or family members, and some were selected from published news media materials, for which I would like to express my gratitude. Due to my limited writing ability, coupled with the passage of time, and the lack of reference materials at hand, some time, place, and characters will inevitably be omissions or even mistakes based on memory. Readers are welcome to criticize and correct.
