Chapter 25 Chapter Twenty-Five

Anyone who has followed the actions of Arthur Dent continuously may get an impression of his character and habits, which contains truth, of course, and nothing but truth, but which, in its composition, is in all cases Aspects lack an overall truth. The reason is obvious.Editing, curation, the need to balance what's interesting with what's meaningful, and get rid of the boring stuff. Let's say this. "Arthur Dent went to bed. He went up the stairs, fifteen steps in all, opened the door, entered the room, took off his shoes and socks and all his other clothes, and laid them neatly folded on the floor. He puts on his pajamas, the blue one with the stripes. He washes his face and hands, brushes his teeth, goes to the toilet, and then realizes he got them all in the wrong order again and has to wash his hands again and go to bed. He watches ten Five-minute book, the first ten minutes of which were spent looking for where he had seen the night before. Then he turned off the light and fell asleep after a minute or so."

"It was dark. He slept for an hour on his left side." "Then he writhed restlessly in his sleep for a while, turned over and fell asleep on his right side again. After another hour, he blinked his eyes twice, scratched his nose lightly, and after another two hours Ten minutes later he would roll over again on his left side, and he would sleep like this through the night. "At four o'clock he got up again to go to the toilet. He opened the toilet door . . . and so on." This is all bullshit. These did not drive any progress.Like those thick books on which the prosperity of the American market depends, it doesn't really bring you any information.Simply put, you don't want to see it at all.

But there's something else that's been left out, aside from brushing your teeth and trying to get a new look in your socks, and it's those things that some people seem to be very interested in. They wanted to know what was going on between Arthur and Trillian, would there be some new information? Of course, the answer is, what should you do. They said, so what was he doing all those nights in Banqiuxing? There's no Floris Charizard on that planet, and there's no Dire Straits, but that doesn't mean everyone just sits and reads every night. To take a more concrete example, on prehistoric Earth, there was a party after that committee meeting, and the night afterward Arthur found himself sitting on the side of a hill watching the moon cast a dull red glow from the burning trees Rising above, beside a beautiful girl named Mela, the girl had just escaped from the art department of an advertising agency on the planet Golga Flintham, where her life consisted of facing her every morning. A hundred nearly identical photos of toothpaste.and then? What happened after that? The answer, of course, is that the book is finished.

The story told in the next book is five years later, and some people say, you may have taken it too far. "This Arthur Dent," cries from the farthest spiral arm of the Milky Way, and has even been found inscribed on a mysterious deep-space probe thought to have come from another, more distant The Milky Way, it's just too ugly out there to go, "What is he? Is it a man or a mouse? Is he only interested in drinking tea and the broader question of life? Does he have no soul? He has no lusts In a word, doesn't he make love?" Those wondering should read on.Others may want to skip straight to the last chapter, which is good and has Marvin in it.
