Chapter 19 Chapter Nineteen

Ford Prefect was irritated by the constant waking of the guns. He slid out of the maintenance hatch, where he had dismantled some of the louder machinery around the place, spread some towels, and converted it into a makeshift bunk.He climbed down the entrance ladder and wandered sullenly in the corridor. The corridor was narrow and dim, and the lights were constantly flickering, as if the electricity was running wildly on the ship, accompanied by heavy vibrations and harsh humming. But it's not that voice. He stopped, leaning back against the wall as what looked like a silver jackhammer flew past him and entered the dimly lit hallway with a sickening scream.

Neither is this. He passed listlessly through a partition door and found himself in a vast corridor, still dimly lit. The spaceship jolted suddenly.Originally, the spaceship has been bumping from time to time, but this time it was particularly severe.A swarm of robots walked past him with an eerie clattering sound. Still not. The pungent smell wafted from the end of the corridor, so he walked down the corridor in the opposite direction. He passed a row of monitors embedded in the wall, and the front of these monitors was covered with plexiglass. The glass was thick, but the surface was severely worn.

Inside one of the monitors was a scaly, hideous green reptilian growling at the top of his lungs about something to do with the single transferable voting system. It's hard to tell whether he's for or against it, but it's clear he's very emotional.Ford turned his voice down. This is still not right. He passed another monitor, which displayed an advertisement for a brand of toothpaste, and you would feel a sense of freedom after using this toothpaste. The ad played a nasty blaring music, but it still wasn't right. He switched to another one, a larger 3D display, showing what was going on outside the gigantic Zexis spaceship.

As he looked at the display, a thousand Xersla robot space patrol ships armed with terrible weapons were silhouetted in the circular area shaded by Xexis, rushing from around the shadow of a moon, Simultaneously, the spaceship unleashed terrible fire from various openings in the hull and began to shoot at them. That's it. Ford shook his head impatiently and rubbed his eyes.Sitting down on the remains of a gray, silver robot that had obviously burned, but had cooled enough to sit on. He yawned and dug his from his bag, activated the screen, and typed lazily on three or four entries. He wants to find a better way to treat insomnia. He looked up "rest" and decided that was exactly what he needed. He found "rest and recovery" and was about to scroll down when he suddenly had a better idea.He looked up at the monitor above. The battle was getting more intense every second, and the noise was harsh. The ship shuddered and screamed, jerking with every burst of energy fired or hit.

He looked at his "Guide" again, and knocked on a few possible areas. He burst out laughing, and started rummaging through his bag again. He took out a memory module, wiped off the fluff and biscuit dust on it, and inserted it into an interactive interface behind the Guide. After copying all the relevant content that he could think of into the module, he pulled out the module, tossed it lightly in his hand, put the "Guide" back into the bag, smirked, and went to find the spaceship's computer database.
