In the early morning, Di Li woke up with a sound of calling. "Dilly, Dilly...wake up." Gray called her name softly and shook her shoulder. Dilly was woken up. She rubbed her sleepy eyes and asked, "Grey...what's wrong? Why did you wake me up so early?" Gray looked at her: "Don't you want to go to the dining room?" Di Li was stunned, and fell asleep for a moment. They quickly got dressed and walked down from the second floor. Before opening the dining room door, Gray and Dilly paused at the door for a few seconds and exchanged glances. "Open the door, Gray," said Dilly.

Gray slid open the glass door to the dining room, and their eyes fell directly on the marble dining table. There was nothing on the dining table, and the shiny surface could reflect people's reflections—exactly the same as after dinner yesterday. Gray let out a sigh of relief, shrugged and said, "I knew there was no such strange thing." Dilly looked up at him: "Grey, what do you mean by that?" Gray curled his lips and said to Dilly with a smile, "I mean, honey, it looks like you'll have to make your own breakfast." "Grey, I don't think that's funny," Dilly said sullenly. "Oh, my God, now you're more sure I was dreaming yesterday, aren't you?"

"Look, Dilly, as I said yesterday, I never disbelieved you," said Gray, "but since nothing like that happens, let's get on with our lives, shall we?" Dilly sighed, feeling speechless. Today's breakfast is peanut porridge, barbecue sausage and bread. It took Dilly less than half an hour to make these and bring them to the table. Gray took a sip of the peanut porridge and praised, "It's delicious, Dilly." Dilly rested her head on her hands and turned the spoon in the bowl without saying a word. After a while she asked, "Grey, did you hear a dog barking last night?"

"Huh?" Gray took a sip of the porridge and raised his head. "I mean, did you hear Kaz barking in the middle of the night last night?" Gray thought for a moment, then shook his head and said, "I didn't hear that. What, did you?" "Yes, it barked for about two or three minutes and woke me up." Gray frowned: "Strange, Katz is not a barking dog." "I think so too, so I don't understand why it called last night." "Well... let me think about it," Gray said, "Maybe it wants to fall in love?" "Grey, can you be a little more serious."

"I'm serious, dear. I mean, is he in heat again?" Di Li raised her eyebrows: "Well... maybe so." "Okay, Dilly, don't be nervous. It's not unusual for a dog to bark a few times in the middle of the night." Gray wiped his mouth, stood up from the chair, walked to Dilly's side, and kissed her. Cheek, "I have to go to work." Dilly smiled at him and nodded. After Gray left, Dilly cleaned the dishes and put them away in the cupboard. Then he walked to the bedroom on the second floor, picked up a novel book, walked to the deck chair on the balcony, and sat down.

Today's weather is gloomy, without sunshine, it looks very cold. Dilly picked up the book and began to read. Ten minutes later, she closed the book and let out a long sigh. She found that she couldn't concentrate at all, and she was thinking about one thing in her whole mind—— The inaccessible storage room. What's hidden in there? Why did Gray's father repeatedly explain that he must never go in, but when Gray mentioned it, he seemed so frightened and disturbed? A barrage of questions plagued and upset Dilly. Finally, she put down the book, left the room, and walked involuntarily to the storage room on the far right.

There are no lights in the corridor, and today's weather is very bad.Di Li walked alone in the dark corridor, feeling a little scared.Emboldened by herself, she finally reached the storage room. This is an old wooden door. On the door, there is a traditional old-fashioned iron lock, which locks the door firmly. Di Li stood in front of the door in a daze for a while, and felt a chill hit her.She shivered, not daring to stay here any longer, and turned around to leave. The moment she turned around, Di Li's feet touched something soft, and the sudden tactile sensation made her yell "Ah!", and her heart tightened suddenly.

After taking a closer look, she realized that what she had met was Katz, the Scottish dog. At some point, this dog appeared behind Di Li without anyone noticing. Di Li, who was still in shock, was about to breathe a sigh of relief when she suddenly noticed that the big dog was looking up at her with a sharp gaze—that kind of gaze was not like a dog should have, but like a person ! Di Li felt a chill down her spine, she didn't dare to look at Katz again, she looked away from it, quickly left this place, and walked to the door of the bedroom. Dilly opened the bedroom door and walked in. She found Kaz standing at the door, staring at her without blinking. She quickly closed the door.

Di Li flung herself on the bed, breathed a sigh of relief, her mind was in chaos. After a few minutes, she sat up in bed and listened to the movement outside the house—she wondered if Kaz was still guarding the door. Suddenly, Di Li had a strange idea—this dog, maybe it is guarding something?
