鱼和尚嘴角微有笑意，喝一声“有”，忽地右拳绕身，荡开火势，左手食指当空一划，五尺外的火焰如被凌空撕破，透出一个行书的“有”字。
宁不空若有所觉，失声道：“你……”不待他说完，鱼和尚又喝一声：“不。”在火幕中再写一个“不”字。只听他喝一声，写一字，食指如走龙蛇，由'有'字起始，从上而下，在火幕中连绵写出七个大字。“大金刚神力”经久不绝，一气写完，字字兀自透火而出，体格怪谲，笔势雄奇，真如快剑斩阵，强弩破军，岳耸浪峙，雷霆相争。
陆渐定睛一瞧，赫然竟是：“有不谐者吾击之”。
“啊呀……”这七字写在火上，却如写在宁不空心头，他目不能见，却似生了一双心眼，瞧得清楚无比，忍不住惨叫一声，“城主……”叫罢惊惶已极，双手乱挥，蓦地凄声叫道，“城主，不是我……不是我，都是他们……不是我，都是他们……”他大喊大叫，如癫如狂，跌跌撞撞向前飞奔，便是火燎衣发，也不驻足，顷刻间消失在密林深处。
那火无人操纵，火势顿弱。鱼和尚拳劲所至，光焰无不泯灭，只见他左拳灭火，右手提起陆渐，大步行到无火之处，盘膝坐下，脸色灰白中透出浓重黑气。
陆渐回过一口气，忽见鱼和尚面色有异，脱口叫道：“大师，你没事么？”
鱼和尚睁眼笑道：“和尚不碍事，孩子，你真愿跟我走么？”
陆渐点点头。鱼和尚叹道：“实话说，解开'黑天劫'，和尚并无十足把握。”陆渐大声道：“我宁肯死了，也不再做宁不空的劫奴。”他本就痛恨这劫奴的身分，只是以往一人计短，无力对抗宁不空，此时鱼和尚出手相助，令他本已绝望的心中重新燃起希望，只觉从此以后，自己再也不是孤身面对“黑天劫”，是故畏惧大减，勇气倍增。
鱼和尚点头笑道：“很好，你是个有骨气的孩子，自从听了你和织田信长的对话，和尚便知道，以你的本性，即便成为劫奴，也不会屈服于宁不空的淫威。'黑天劫'名为天劫，实为心劫，若无绝强心志，势难免劫；若你没有如此心志，和尚就算有心救你，也是枉然。”
陆渐这才明白，鱼和尚早先不肯露面，也有试探自己的意思。忽听木屐声响，转眼望去，但见一众侍卫侍女拥着阿市走了过来，想是被方才的爆炸声引来。
陆渐一见阿市，便觉愧疚，欲要说话，却又不知从何说起。
两人默默对视良久，陆渐终于道：“阿市公主，我要回大唐去了，你多保重。”
阿市木然听着，眼神渐渐凄楚起来。好半晌，她轻轻放下北落师门。那波斯猫向前走了两步，又回头瞧了阿市一眼，终于来到陆渐身前，陆渐俯身将它抱起，蓦地瞧见，两点晶莹的泪珠，滴落在阿市足前。抬头时，那白衣女子已转过身去，瘦削双肩微微颤抖，有如风中落叶。
陆渐咬咬牙，站起身来，却见鱼和尚已在远处相候，他长吸一口气，向前走去。走了约莫十步，忽听身后传来一声凄楚的叫唤：“陆渐！”
陆渐身子一震，却没有勇气回头，举目望去，前方林莽幽远，尚有火后的余烬，明明灭灭，照亮夜里的前程，而身后的叫喊，却终于化作断续的哭声。
陆渐不知道，在这个战乱频仍的国度，这位娇弱的女子，会面临何种莫测的命运，他只知道，从今以后，无论何种劫难，自己再也无法和她并肩面对。
想到这里，陆渐只觉得心头空落落的，一种无可名状的伤感涌了上来，泪水模糊了他的眼睛。
星汉天流，晓寒尤轻，夜幕下大地微微跌宕，连绵无尽。
黎明前的道路分外漫长，鱼和尚大步在前，也不知走了多久，东方微白之时，两人在一处山坳歇了下来。鱼和尚闭目入定，陆渐则感伤离别，无心言语，加之连夜苦战，须臾便即睡去。
睡梦间，忽觉周身激灵，陆渐猛地挣起，却见曙色中，三道人影，一静两动，在远处纠缠。那两名动者快得出奇，绕着那静者飞速盘旋。陆渐识得那静者正是鱼和尚，见他被人围攻，一惊之下，操起身边一根树枝，正想上前相助，忽见那两名敌人身法一滞，微微踉跄，身形忽矮，消失不见。
陆渐匆忙抢上，却见鱼和尚低眉伫立，脚边多有刀痕足迹，只不见了那两名敌人，不由得扭头四顾，却听鱼和尚叹道：“不用找了，那是伊贺的忍者，一击不中，早已远遁了。”
陆渐听得诧异，忽听鱼和尚又道：“陆渐，你扶我到那块石头上去。”陆渐听他声音发颤，更觉讶异，转身扶着鱼和尚，坐到一块岩石上。鱼和尚掩口咳嗽，陆渐分明看到殷红鲜血自他指间涌出，不由骇道：“大师您受伤了么？是方才的忍者吗
