Chapter 13 Chapter Thirteen Once

It took a full five seconds for Dodge to see what was on top of Darren's supplies, figure out what was going on, curse loudly, turn around, and rush out of the tent like a whirlwind.I broke free from my sleeping bag and hurried out. When I got outside, I saw that he had already unzipped another tent.I heard Emma screaming in protest. It was dawn, but the sun had not yet appeared above the horizon. It must be still early.I hope this is the only reason. "What are you crazy about, Dodge?" Darren's voice sounded sleepy, but aggressive. "What's the matter with me?" cried Dodge. As I walked across the icy sand and straightened my pajamas, his voice could be heard, "We found Martin's stuff, Darren!"

Then there was a silence.I walked over to Dodge just in time to see Darren froze. He looked aggressive and ashamed. But his face was defiant and not contrite enough to be satisfactory. Emma lifted her head cautiously from the pillows covering her face, out of the light. "What the hell is going on?" she complained. "Darren actually hid Martin's stuff," Dodge explained, his voice full of hostility. "Martin didn't even pack up and leave. Only God knows where Martin is now. We should have gone to him last night. Yes, but we ended up here grilling meatloaf and sleeping!"

"Well, let's say he didn't take anything. But he could still hitch a ride out of here." Darren said with his chin raised, "We don't know where he is." "Yeah, we don't know," said Dodge angrily, "but you have no fucking right to lie to us! He's probably lying in the gutter right now. It was so cold last night! He could die, Darren! " Dodge was actually screaming now.I reached out to grab his arm, but he shook me off, panting.Emma looked at these two people, her eyes staring like copper bells. But her eyes widened when she saw Darren staggering out of the tent.He was wearing only a pair of boxers, and his figure was amazing. Now, trembling with rage, he looked even more shocking. His hands are clenched into fists.I endured it and endured it, so I didn't back down. His anger was not directed at me.Maybe it wasn't for Dodge either.

"The four-eyed frog is trouble," he said through gritted teeth. "He's just whining, and let's face it, he's making this trip into a farce, not a party. It's his own business to make trouble for himself. If something happens to him, he deserves it." I stared at him dumbfounded.Even Emma was shocked. "So, even if he was injured or died, it's not a big deal?" Dodge's anger could hardly be suppressed, and even his voice trembled. Darren shrugged. "Go away, don't disturb my sleep because of this." Emma whispered "Darren!" which was drowned out by Dodge's angry growl. He lunged forward, clenched his hands into fists, and swung Darren in the face.
