Chapter 56 black person talk river

I know rivers, I understand that rivers are as old as the world, older than the flow of blood in human veins. My soul is as deep as the river. When the morning sun rises, I bathe in the Euphrates. I built a hut by the Congo River, and the sound of the waves lulled me to sleep. I looked down at the Nile and built the pyramids. When Arbor.Lincoln goes south to New Orleans, I hear the Mississippi singing, I see the river's murky breast The river is dyed golden by the setting sun. I know rivers, The old, dark river. My soul is as deep as the river. 1926
