Chapter 13 Chapter Twelve
In another country, a young guard sits patiently in front of a row of television monitors. He watched images flash before his eyes from the hundreds of wireless cameras monitoring the sprawling complex.Images flicked across the screen without interruption.
A richly decorated corridor.
A private office.
An economical kitchen.
Images flashed before the guard's eyes, and he tried not to distract himself. It's almost a shift change, but he's still on high alert.Devotion to duty is honorable, and he will be rewarded someday.
He was thinking wildly again, when a screen displayed a warning. He couldn't help twitching, his reaction surprised himself, he reached out and pressed a button on the console, and the picture was locked immediately.
Nervous, he leaned forward to get a better view of the monitor. The data on the monitor showed that the image came from camera number 86—a camera that was supposed to be installed high up overlooking a corridor.
But the picture in front of him certainly didn't show a corridor.
