Chapter 24 Section 24

Poirot, Fournier and Jane came to the dining room. When Poirot told Jane what had just happened, she was surprised. "What does she look like?" "Medium build, slightly dark skin, long chin, oval face." "She's not Anne Morisot now," said Fournier, "it's Lady Anne Richards, and she's married." "Is her husband coming too?" "No, he's in Canada or America." "I just spoke to the Director of Marie Orphanage," said Poirot. "She confirmed that part of Marie's experience in the orphanage. She thought that Gise had no influence on her daughter. She sent her money regularly. But she never proposed to visit her daughter. After Anne left the orphanage, she often wrote to the dean. The dean sent a telegram to Anne after seeing Mrs. Giselle's murder in the newspaper."

"What about her husband?" Fournier said. "Giselle must have been married. Her husband is an important clue." "That's one of the reasons I called. George Lyman was Giselle's black bodyguard. He died in the war early in his life." He paused and said, "What did I just say? Seems like something valuable what?" Fournier roughly repeated his words, and Poirot shook his head disapprovingly. After dinner, Poirot suggested that everyone go to the coffee shop.Jane readily agreed, ready to pack the handbag and gloves on the table. "What is it, mademoiselle?" said Poirot.

"Nothing, cosmetics or something." "There! Remembered!" cried Poirot. The two looked at him in surprise. "No wonder Anne Morisot looks so familiar. I met her, on the plane where the murder happened. Mrs. Hobre asked her to get her vanity case. Anne Morisot was Mrs. Hobre's maid."
