tide of darkness 亚伦·罗森伯格 12171Words 2018-03-12
"We're going to take them!" growled an orc, and Doomhammer opened his mouth to laugh too.The winning ticket is already in hand!Although no matter how many soldiers he threw in, the city walls were still standing firmly, but the city gates had begun to crack under the endless impact. The moment the gates fall, his warriors will pour into the capital, take out the remaining defenders and destroy the city. With here and the elf forest as a base, they will sweep across the land, drive the humans to the sea and finally throw them into the sea. Then the land will belong to the tribe and they will end this war and start a new life.

If the ogre was here, leaning on his warhammer, watching his men charge the fortified gates again, Doomhammer thought again. They could scale the wall, and even punch holes in the thick wall with sticks. He wondered why Gul'dan, Cho'gall, and their clan were still not here.It didn't take too long for Doomhammer to come here by crossing the mountains. He knew this, and Gul'dan and the others should have arrived too. "Doomhammer!" He looked around and saw one of his fighters pointing to the sky.Are more griffins coming? He looked bitter. These monsters proved to be very troublesome in the forests of the Hinterlands, and it was no different in Quel'Thalas. From here he could only see a few appearing in the distance, one of which flew towards the castle and left, not looking ready to engage in battle. But he remained vigilant.Wildhammer dwarves are very strong, their mounts are extremely fast, and their storm hammer is as deadly as an orc's warhammer. They are not big, but they are very difficult to deal with. There are only a few of them now, but if more reinforcements are coming, he must be prepared to deal with them.

The black silhouette that pierced the clouds grew larger and larger, too long for a griffin.Doomhammer heard the sound of his warriors cheering toward the shadows flying towards them.a dragon! This is really good news! These gigantic beasts can attack the gates with their flames, taking out the defenders on those walls. The city is already in the bag! The dragon landed steadily by the river. Just as it landed, an orc jumped off the saddle on the dragon's back. Doomhammer strode up and hung the hammer behind him. "Where is Doomhammer?" the dragoon called. "I have something urgent to tell him."

"Here I am," Doomhammer replied, and his warriors made a way for him to pass. "what happened?" The trooper turned to face him, and Doomhammer suddenly remembered that he had seen this warrior before. He is a confidant of the Zuluhed, a mighty warrior.Said to be the first orcs to have the guts to ride these dragons that still try to resist.Todgers, yes, that's his name. "I bring a message from Zuluhed." Taigus said loudly, a strange expression appeared on his broad face - Doomhammer saw anger, embarrassment, and seemed a little ashamed or even fearful. . "Then, tell me." Doomhammer replied, walking into the circle formed by the dragon's tail. The orc who was leaning nearby understood the warning, and stepped back to leave room for the two of them to talk alone.

"It's Gul'dan," said Tigus. He was a tall orc, as tall as Doomhammer, but he wasn't looking at Doomhammer. "He escaped." "What?" By now, Doomhammer understood why the expression of fear appeared on the dragoon's face. He felt the blood in his whole body boil with anger. sound. "When? How?" "Not long after you left," Todgers replied. "Cho'gall followed him. They took the Twilight's Hammer and the Ravagers. They boarded a ship and sailed south into the Great Sea." Now he looked up, his expression of terror replaced by anger. replaced. "One of my companions noticed them and flew down to ask why they were going in the wrong direction. Gul'dan killed him with his wicked magic. I watched it happen! I wanted to give chase, but I knew I had to Inform Zuluhed of this. He orders me to come here at once."

Doomhammer nodded. "You did the right thing." He affirmed the action of the dragoon. "Since Gul'dan killed your companion, he will also kill you without hesitation, so that no one can bring back the news of his betrayal." He gritted his teeth and growled. "Bastard! I knew he wasn't to be trusted! Now he's gone with the boat!" "We can drive there from the air," Toggs suggested. "Zuluhed said he'd get the rest of the dragoons ready. We could burn the ship to ashes, and all the orcs on board." Doomhammer nodded. "True, but only if you are close enough. Gul'dan's spells are powerful, and so is Cho'gall's power." He slammed the hammer on the ground. "I knew those altars he built would be a problem! I had him transform those ogres into new warriors to fill his own ranks!" Doomhammer was in a bad mood, self-conscious about his stupidity. responsibility.Because he was too eager to get new weapons to fight against humans, he ignored his intuition all the time. This intuition has warned him countless times that this warlock will only plan for himself.

Torgus was still waiting for Doomhammer's order, but they both turned to face an approaching orc.It was Sabek, Doomhammer's young second-in-command to the Blackrock clan, who stopped not far away as the dragon's tail lashed the ground in warning. "how?" "Something went wrong." Sabek said bluntly. "The mountain road is broken." "What?" Doomhammer turned around, looked over the red dragon to the direction of the Alterac Mountains, and clearly saw a black mass of orcs rushing from the south blocked on the mountain road. "what happened?"

Sabek shook his head, "I don't know," he replied. "But we can no longer cross that mountain road. I sent soldiers to investigate what happened, but none of them came back." It was clear to him that those people should have returned. "Damn it." Doomhammer gritted his teeth. "That human betrayed us! I knew that people who would betray their race are not enough to trust!" He thought again that the cowardly human in the cloak would not have the guts to turn his head against him.Maybe the Alliance showed greater strength, or maybe they used some stronger pressure than the Horde to bring him into submission - maybe they discovered his treachery, stripped him of his own rights and took control of the mountain pass.Yes, this is the most likely scenario. It's impossible for that man to betray him at this time, especially with the tribe's army nearby. He must have been caught and taken away, while the others took control of the mountain.

In any case, none of these can change the current predicament. "How many orcs are trapped there?" he asked. Sabek shrugged. "It's hard to say." He mentioned. "But there should be at least half a clan, or even more." He looked around. "We still have a lot of fighters here," he said. "We'll have more when Gul'dan gets here." Doomhammer smiled wryly, still thinking. "Others? Others won't come!" Sabek looked very surprised. "Gul'dan betrayed us," Doomhammer told his assistant, describing with difficulty what had happened. "He took the ship and took the people of the two clans to the Endless Sea."

"But why would he do that?" Sabek asked, looking very confused. "If we lose this war, we will have nowhere to stand, including himself." Doomhammer shook his head. "He never cared about this war." He recalled seeing the warlock in Stormwind City in his mind. "He seems to have found something, an unusually powerful thing." He recalled vaguely. "This thing can make him so powerful that he doesn't need the protection of the Horde." "Then what should we do?" Sabek demanded, looking back at the city. "So we don't have enough troops to capture here." He mentioned.

Doomhammer didn't want to look that way, he knew his assistant was right. The city was much stronger than he had imagined, and its defenders were tenacious. The Alliance's surprise attack from their rear also caused their troops to suffer a large number of attrition. Moreover, they can't get reinforcements from anywhere now. And that wasn't the only thing weighing on his mind, Gul'dan's treachery was heinous, and he took the other orcs with him. They put their individual goals above the tribe as a whole, and they put their own selfish desires above the needs of their own people. And that, was what drove Doomhammer to kill Blackhand in order to gain control of the Horde, to end this corruption and restore honor to his people. This act of treachery will never be forgiven, no matter what it costs the Horde and Doomhammer himself. "Red! Mem!" Doomhammer yelled.Brother Blackhand ran over quickly, maybe they sensed the chief's urgency from his shouting. "Take your Blackfang clan and head south!" Doomhammer ordered, recalling the maps his scouts had drawn with the help of the trolls. "Go back along the river, and from there through the Hillsbrad Foothills to the sea. Gul'dan has escaped, but there are only two clans, not enough for all our ships. The rest The boat should still be there." His face twisted, revealing his sharp fangs. "Catch up with these traitors, kill them all, and throw their bodies into the sea!" "But—the city!" Red tried to argue. "This war!" "The honor of our people is at stake!" Doomhammer yelled, raising his hammer in a fighting stance, roaring at the other clan chiefs, all silent, no one daring to flout the order. "We can't let them just leave like this!" He glared fiercely at Brother Black Hand. "This is your chance to regain your honor." Then he took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down. "I'll take my men slowly southwards to help you fend off the pursuers and clear the way. We'll keep the road clear and we'll come back here when it's all over," he assured them. Say. "Then end it all." Although he himself doubted whether what he said would come true. This time, they attacked the city by surprise. But there will be no next time. Brother Blackhand nodded, looking reluctant. "We will do as you bid," Maim responded, and he and his brother turned and ran to their warriors to deliver the order. Doomhammer turned to Torgues, who was standing by. "Tell Zuluhed to send all the dragons to the Great Sea," he told the dragoons. "Fly as fast as you can. You will have a chance to avenge your companions." Tortex nodded, his excitement overwhelmed by thoughts of vengeance, and he turned and mounted his dragon, sending Doomhammer back a few paces to allow the massive creature enough room to stretch out. Wings fly up to the sky.Doomhammer gritted his teeth again as he watched them go, his hands shaking with blow and rage.Victory is at hand!Give him another day at most, and this city will belong to him!Now that the opportunity has slipped away like this, the hope of winning this war has begun to fade, but for him, honor always comes first. Tyrone Gorefiend was standing nearby, and Doomhammer stepped forward to size up the death knight. "And you? What are you planning? You rotting corpse?" Doomhammer demanded. "You followed Gul'dan, and now he has betrayed us all. Will you follow him now?" The undead warrior stared at Doomhammer for a long moment with his reddened eyes, then shook his head. "Gul'dan has forgotten us," replied the Gorefiend. "We will not go with him. The Horde is our everything, and we pledge allegiance to him—and to your command." Doomhammer nodded blankly, surprised at the guy's answer. "Very well, then, those who are going to protect us evacuate the city," he ordered.Gorefiend took the order and walked to where the other death knights and their skeleton steeds were.Sabek also left, and Doomhammer is now alone. "Gul'dan!" he shouted, raising his hammer aloft and roaring at the sky. "I'm going to kill you! I'm going to watch you pay for betraying our faction!" Sky didn't respond, but Doomhammer felt a little more comfortable after howling. He lowered his warhammer and turned back into the battlefield, forcing himself to think about how to successfully lead his warriors south to the sea. Gul'dan leaned out from the bow and sniffed the sea air.He closed his eyes and used his own mysterious perception to find that powerful aura.He felt it almost instantly, the stimulating smell like fresh blood, so powerful that it made Gul'dan's skin tingle, and his hair crackled. "Stop!" he yelled, and the clan members sitting behind him stopped rowing. The boat slowed down quickly and stopped quietly on the water, Gul'dan laughed. "We're here," he announced. "But—but there's nothing here," asked an orc named Drak'thul from his own raiding clan.Gul'dan turned, opened his eyes, and stared at the young orc warlock. "Nothing?" He smiled. "Then do you think we tied you up with iron chains and threw you to the bottom of the sea to see if there is anything for us, or just sit here and believe that I know what I'm doing?" Delaxul stepped aside , stammering an apology, but Gul'dan has completely ignored his existence. He looked towards the parked ship, where Cho'gall was standing near the bow. "Notify the others," Gul'dan said to his assistant. "We're going to start right away. Doomhammer probably already knows what we're doing, and I don't want to be disturbed by anyone until we get there." The two-headed ogre nodded and issued orders to his own ship's men, and then to another ship. They threw the rope over, some grabbed the rope and moved slowly, and some used the rope to guide themselves while swimming, depending on their own ability and adaptability to the water.Soon ogre mages and orc acolytes were aboard Gul'dan's ship. "The place we were looking for, an ancient temple, is just below us," Gul'dan began to explain as all his warlocks gathered on the deck in front of him. "Of course, we could dive down there, but I don't know how deep it is. And the darkness and cold down there are not to my liking." He smiled. "Instead, we will lift the island as a whole and let the temple itself come to us." "Can we do it?" asked a new ogre mage. "Of course." Gul'dan replied. "Not so long ago in our homeland, we orcs raised another continent, a volcano in Shadowmoon Valley. I commanded the Shadow Council then, and now I will command our people." Other questions or objections, but no one does.He nodded, very good, these new subordinates are not only stronger but also more obedient, he is very satisfied with these two points. "When do we start?" Cho'gall asked finally. "Right now." Gul'dan replied. "Why wait?" He turned and pointed in the direction of the railing on the boat, as his assistants began to surround him. Then he closed his eyes and began to get closer to the power he felt lay beneath. It was easy to catch, and as he grasped the force, Gul'dan began to pull hard.Magically draw the power and its source to him.At the same time, he stretched out his consciousness and cast his mana on the surrounding energies, pulling them in as well. The surrounding sky began to darken, and the nearby sea water also became rough. "I caught him." He gritted his teeth and said to the people around him. "Track my mana and you'll feel like your own. Pour your own mana into the energy body I've constructed and pull it up with me! Now!" He could feel Cho'gall and the others channeling their power into his own.The sky turned crimson, thunder rumbled like a rainstorm, and waves crashed against their ship. The heavy pull he had felt before was also a lot lighter. But life is still not easy at all, but it is not as tortured as before.Every pull will make their magic circle stronger, and the grip he exerted on the source of power will become stronger as well as the grip around him. The natural force attacks them angrily, but they are still steady Stand still. These men had stood here for hours, motionless in the eyes of the warriors who were struggling with colossal strength.Seawater soaked the bodies of these warriors. The sound of thunder was deafening.Falling lightning nearly blinded them. The boats swayed wildly, and they clung to the oars to hold their positions. Many people looked at Gul'dan and the warlocks. Even under the violent sway of the ship, they still stuck to their posts. After a while, a burst of flame and smoke burst from the water not far from the bow, filling the air with soot.Through the grit and steam they could see something emerging from the water, like a hen's beak pecking at its own egg. This thing looks like a rock. But what happened next stunned the soldiers who had been watching everything in front of them. The thing grew bigger and bigger, bursting out of the waves, water and lava flowing down the top. What was just a small rock quickly turned into a big rock, and from a big rock to a small plateau, and this plateau turned into a small rocky flat land. The other parts also emerged, rising from the sea not far from the first, but they were connected together, and when the water receded from above, the orcs could see an entire island emerging from the bottom of the sea , still spraying flames, dust and steam.Another smaller island also floated out, then a third, and a fourth. Eventually, the sky above turned from swirling crimson to the usual leaden gray, and the huge waves receded gradually, until they were only as high as the mast of the ship.Gul'dan opened his eyes, he walked unsteadily, and leaned against the railing to rest like a small group of other warlocks. He looked up at the newly-appeared islands. The islands were still exuding steam, and gradually formed a new shape with the sound of booming.Gul'dan laughed. "Soon." He whispered, looking at the island in front of him and feeling all this with his own consciousness, calculating where he was looking for. "Soon, I will take you to the temple I am looking for, where the rare treasure lies." "I see them," a warrior shouted. "There they are, the island!" One of the two chieftains of the Blackfang clan, Rend Blackhand, looked in the direction the orc was pointing at, which was near the madly writhing area they had seen when they approached. He saw thin light rain falling on the island in front of him, and looking westward, some black figures were gathering there. "Very well," he said, nodding and gripping the handle of his ax tightly. "Speed forward," he said to his men. "I want to get close to them before they have a chance to find a place to hide." On another ship, he saw his brother Maim speaking to his men, no doubt issuing similar orders. . "What if they use spells against us?" asked one of his young warriors. Many people nodded in agreement. It was the only thing they feared, far more than the fear of being caught by the Alliance or eaten by a dragon, and it was hard for Red to argue that their fears were wrong. He did not approve of attacking Gul'dan and his men. This was an order from Doomhammer, and he also bet on the name of the black hand.Red had no choice but to do it with all his might—perhaps to die. "Their spells are really powerful," Reid said. "Gul'dan himself could easily kill three or four of us in a matter of minutes. But he needs time, and he needs physical contact or close enough, or possession of some useful stuff." He laughed. "Have any of you lent the chief warlock his own waterskin, a pair of gauntlets, or a whetstone?" That made those who did his part laugh. "So, when we encounter these warlocks, we just need to avoid them, keep them away, and then surround them before they cast their spells." He tapped his battle ax emphatically. "Apart from the spells, they're just orcs like us, they bleed and die. It's the same as we used to hunt ogres back home - any of these guys are stronger than us, but we can still form The team drained him and eventually finished him." His warriors nodded. After understanding what Red meant, now in their view, magic is just another weapon, and they are not as afraid as before. "We'll be there soon." The helmsman announced to them, and Reid looked behind him along the side of the ship. The island appeared suddenly to one side, and Red felt the new land was enormous in comparison to the size of the ship, much larger than most islands he had ever seen in this world. There were many small boats that had been lowered from the ships and docked at the shore, and he could clearly see the orcs jumping off of them and entering this dark and damp continent.Red fought to control his emotions and gave the order. "Get ready to land, and when we're up there, target the warlocks. Kill anyone, anything, in our way!" "We have a companion." Kogall said to Gul'dan, pointing in one direction.Their boat had just landed on the coast of this new island, and the island was still shaking from time to time. Although the steam had gradually dissipated, flames and lava still erupted from time to time. Gul'dan looked in the direction his assistant was pointing at. A fleet was approaching this island, his island, from afar. From the way the lead ship moved, Gul'dan could tell it was using human oars, which usually only meant one thing: Orcs.Doomhammer's forces have found them. "That damned guy." Gul'dan cursed. "Why does he always make decisions so quickly? If they come a day late we can finish all the plans." He sighed. "No way, tell the warriors to prepare for battle. You must stop them before I enter the temple and find the orb." Kogall smiled on both faces. "It's an honor." The giant two-headed ogre was as fanatical as the rest of his clan, convinced that the world would eventually be filled with violence and bloodshed. All members of the Twilight's Hammer share the same belief that they can fight anyone and anything to bring the world to its end.The bloodthirsty they were born with had been amplified a hundredfold by the demonic blood they drank on Draenor in the past. "I won't let them pass," the ogre promised, drawing the curved longsword from his back. Gul'dan nodded. "Very good." After finishing speaking, he turned around and walked into the depths of the island cautiously.Every step he takes is accompanied by a burst of steam.Drake'sul and other acolytes and ogre mages followed closely. "Attack!" Red shouted, holding a battle ax and rushing up with his soldiers. "Kill these traitors!" "Kill all the traitors!" Maim echoed from the side. "Come on!" Kogall roared, and he raised his sickle-like long sword high, the sharp blade reflecting the faint sunlight of the evening. "Let their blood spill the land," his other head added. "They will finally usher in death!" On this lava-strewn beach, the two armies clashed like a thunderbolt.Weapons flashed in turn, axes, hammers, swords and spears intertwined, bursting out with wildness, passion and frenzy.Blood splattered everywhere, creating a red mist in the dense air, and the surrounding waves also became dark. The ground was still not stable, with ups and downs. Many soldiers were killed by the enemy when they lost their balance and fell to the ground. The battle was very brutal.Cho'gall's warriors fight with no regard for their own safety—their sole purpose is to inflict as much damage and suffering as possible on their foes.Doomhammer warriors fight for vengeance and justice.Avenge Gul'dan's betrayal and its consequences.People on both sides insisted on their beliefs, and no one thought of backing down. For both sides, the only difference in this fight is the numbers.Gul'dan only brought people from two clans with him, his own Ravager clan and Cho'gall's Twilight's Hammer clan. His Ravager clan was the smallest clan, all warlocks - all of them followed Gul'dan, leaving only the Twilight's Hammer to hold off Doomhammer's forces.Red Blackhand and Maim Blackhand had brought a large number of their own Blackfang clan, one of the largest clans in the Horde. The Twilight's Hammer fighters are outnumbered, and they know it.As the fighting continued and both sides suffered heavy losses, the gap quickly became apparent. But these fanatical Twilight's Hammer fighters refused to surrender, vowing to fight to the end. Each warrior fell with several Doomhammer warriors with him - two Blackfang warriors hacked into Cho'gall's body with their battle axes, and he severed the right arm of one of them before falling , Another soldier was also hit in the eye by the tomahawk-in the end, only the troops brought by the black hand and corpses were left on the scorching beach. "Now." Red said, he was wiping the tomahawk on an orc corpse in front of him, blood was still gushing from the wound on the corpse's chest. "We go after Gul'dan. He will pay for it." Gul'dan was standing on the pedestal of an ancient temple. Moss, coral, and various sediments from the deep sea were piled up on his outer wall, but he could still barely make out the style of the building, which was the same as he was in What Quel'Thalas saw was very similar, stately and graceful. It was the elves who created this building. He was able to confirm that in the distant past, it was very beautiful and gorgeous, but now, his outer wall is crumbling, and the whole building is dilapidated, covered with a lot of seaweed silt.To him, though, looks were irrelevant. What attracted him was the pulsation that he could feel, the force that pulled him, and he could even see the whole building vibrate under the influence of this force. "Go in!" he said to Drak'thul and the other warlocks. "We have to go in." In fact, he once hesitated to bring his men in.He knew that the tomb of Sargeras lay there, and that the Eye of Sargeras had infinite power.Should he go alone, or share this power with other members of the Shadow Council. In the end, he decided to take them, because he didn't know what might be inside the ancient temple. So Gul'dan thought it best to take his servants with him.If necessary, they can be killed before they find the tomb of Sargeras. As they walked cautiously in, Gul'dan created a green sphere of light that allowed them to see their surroundings more clearly. The halls and rooms here are as unrecognizable as the exterior of the building. There is a layer of gravel and seaweed on the ground, and the walls are covered with shells and seaweed of different sizes.Even the door frame has been deformed, some creatures have been attached to it over the long years, and the places where they stayed have been worn away. "Come on, you idiots!" he ordered impatiently to his clan members. "Spread out and find the main passage! We must find the room where the eyes are before we alert the tomb guards!" "Guard?" One of the warlocks, Uruk Shayun asked hesitantly. "You didn't say anything about the guards!" "Useless coward," Gul'dan scolded, slapping Uruk across the face. "I said action!" His anger mobilized his men, at least temporarily suppressing their fear of this strange place and the fear of unknown existence. The warlocks began to find their way through the building. At last they found a wide corridor, and walked along it. They walked in tremblingly, and the traces of destruction around them gradually became less and less. Now Gul'dan can also clearly see the exquisite patterns carved on the columns and the beautiful carvings on the walls, and these exquisite processings are also everywhere on the floor and ceiling.Although somewhat battered by the prolonged soaking in the salt water, the place still retains its former glory and will impress even the most weary of visitors with its sophistication. Gul'dan had no time to appreciate these things. There was only one thing in his mind, the power buried underground waiting to be discovered by him. When he finally came to the door of the catacombs, he paused to savor the moment. "Now, Sargeras," he said softly. "I will take what power you leave behind - and make the poor world kneel before me!" He could already feel the power, so powerful it made his mind tremble. The green ball of light, which had remained this size since he cast it for the first time, was now twice the size of his head, releasing unprecedented light that made him dare not look directly at him, and the temperature also rapidly increased. Ascension, it pushed the ball of light to the center of the hall for fear that it would melt the surrounding walls. They are just getting close to that energy! If he really came into contact with that power and absorbed it fully, he could no longer imagine what would happen. Immersed in such thoughts, Gul'dan signaled the others to back off, and they obediently retreated to the other side of the room.He reached out and grabbed the handle of the huge black iron door. This is the only place in the entire temple that has not been decorated, and its singleness gives people a solemn feeling.Apparently it said there was no need for any gaudy decorations here. With a strong desire for what was hidden inside, Gul'dan pulled the door with all his strength. He could feel the aura that had been abandoned for centuries, and also felt a tingle as if some force passed through his body. But this force didn't hurt him, more energy was triggered by this force, and he could even feel that there were more and greater energies connected far behind. But the first wave of energy passed through him and retreated, and its companions stopped moving. As Sargeras had assured him.Aegwynn has set up a barrier here to prevent humans, elves, dwarves and even gnomes-in short, any race native to Azeroth-from breaking into here. But he was an orc, and Aegwynn had never heard of Draenor, and her spells had no effect on him, so now, he could easily open the door and walk in.The door made a loud noise, and he pulled it hard, and the whole door opened completely. Behind the door was darkness, not even the light that Gul'dan created could penetrate. The darkness was so frozen that it immediately froze his fingers, and the breath he exhaled also froze. These shadows were slowly condensing into a shape, wriggling quietly, and this thing full of eyes rolled over. With that, it became even darker than the surroundings, making it impossible to detect with the naked eye. They were breaking free from this eternal prison, and rushed towards the stunned Gul'dan and his men. demon. But it had nothing in common with the demons he had seen before.Gul'dan recalled the horrible creatures he'd faced before, but this one made the other demons weak. No!Gul'dan shouted in his heart, his mouth could no longer make a sound. what is that sound非常微弱,喋喋不休,这让他感到头皮发麻,但是这个声音又夹杂着冷酷和——嘲笑? he thought.
