Chapter 1 preamble

king of clan 克里斯蒂·高登 1244Words 2018-03-12
When Gul'dan called them, they came, willing, even hungry, who sold their souls to the darkness. They used to be like Gul'dan, beings with a firm will. They had studied the natural world and the Orcs' abode in it; they had learned from the beasts of the forests and plains, the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea and rivers. They were once part of the cycle, no more, no less. All this is gone forever. These shamans of the past, warlocks of the present, tasted power for a brief moment and found it as luscious as a tongue with a large drop of honey. And so their hunger was rewarded with more power, and more and more.Gul'dan had studied with Ner'zhul until the student eventually surpassed the teacher. The entire tribe was once strong because of Ne'zhuol, but because Ne'zhuol didn't have the courage to go further, the tribe collapsed unstoppably soon after. He has a gentle view of the inherent nobility of his people.Gul'dan has no such weakness.

The Horde has killed everything that can be killed in this world.Falling into an unrelenting bloodlust, they began to kill each other and clans turned against each other in a desperate attempt to assuage the ferocious desire that burned within them.It was Gul'dan who found a new target for the Horde's bloodlust. Now they quickly venture to another world, full of living, weak, and unsuspecting prey. That bloodlust had risen to feverish proportions, and the savage Horde needed a council to rule them over, and Gul'dan would lead that council. He nodded to let the warlocks in, his small, flaming eyes seeing it all.One by one they came, and to Gul'dan it seemed to Gul'dan like slavish beasts called by their masters.

Around the round table sat the scariest, most awesome, most detestable people of the entire orc tribe. Some are hideous to look at, paying a price not just of their souls for dark knowledge.Others could be called graceful, their bodies complete and strong, the green skin stretching over the taut muscles they demanded in their dark pacts. All are ruthless and cunning, and nothing can stop them from gaining greater power. But none were more ruthless than Gul'dan. "We gathered here," Gul'dan said in his piercing voice, "are the strongest of our clan. We know power, how to get it, how to use it, how to get more. Others began to shout against some or all of us. This clan wants to go back to its roots, and that clan is tired of slaughtering unsuspecting babies." His thick lips curled into a sneer. "That's what happens when orcs start to go weak."

"But my lord," said a warlock, "we have killed all the Denino. What is left in this world to kill?" Gul'dan smiled, curling his thick lips to reveal huge, sharp teeth. "No," he said, "but other worlds wait." He told the warlocks of his plan, delighted to see the thirst for power burning in their blood-red eyes.Yes, that's fine. This will be the most powerful organization the orcs have ever built, and no one but Gul'dan will be the leader of this organization. "We shall be the Council that holds the Horde under control," he said at last. "Each of us is a mighty voice. Because of the ego of the Orcs, they must not know who is the real master here .Let every man think that he wields his battle-axe of his own will, and not at our behest. We shall be a secret. We are walkers in the shadows, and that power shall be untraceable for its And stronger and stronger. We are the Shadow Council, and no one can know our strength."

But, one day, the day to come, some people will know.
