Chapter 2 The Tale of Hercules-2

King Amphitryon knew from the mouth of a blind fortune teller that his son was extremely gifted, so he decided to let his son enjoy an education worthy of being a hero.He hired heroes from all over the world to teach various skills to the young Hercules. He himself taught him how to drive a chariot; Eurytus, king of Ocaria, taught him to draw a bow and shoot an arrow; Harperycus taught him to fight and box;Castor, one of Zeus' twin sons, taught him to fight in the wild with full armor; Apollo's son, the gray-haired Rinos, taught him to read and write.Hercules showed a gift and talent for learning. But he could not bear torment, and old Rinos was an impatient teacher.Once, he beat Hercules for no reason.Hercules snatched up his harp and threw it at the teacher's head, whereupon he fell dead.Hercules regretted it very much, but he was still brought before the court. He was acquitted by the upright and learned judge Radamantis.A judge issued a new law exculpating anyone who kills someone in self-defense.But Amphitryon feared that his mighty son would commit similar crimes in the future, so he sent him to the country to herd cattle. Here Hercules lived year after year and grew tall and strong. He was more than ten feet tall, and his eyes were piercing, like flickering coals. He is good at riding and shooting, and he can hit a hundred shots with arrows or throwing guns. When he was 18 years old, he had grown into the most handsome and strongest man in Greece. He faces the challenge of fate, and now is the time to see whether his martial arts and power will be used for good or evil.
