Chapter 2 whose child is the little mule

On the grass, a happy scene. The calf kicks its hooves and plays in front of its mother, the lamb cuddles in its mother's arms to nurse, the pig father and mother pig lead a group of piglets to play games, and the little rabbit races with its parents. The little mule stood alone, weeping quietly. When the little rabbit saw him, he jumped up to him and asked, "little mule, why are you crying? Come on, let's play together!" The little mule lowered his head: "No, you all have parents to play with you, but I..." He cried sadly. "Where are your parents?" "I never knew who my parents were." The little mule shook his head, the bell around his neck ringing crisply.

"Let's go, let's look for it together!" The little rabbit called the calf and the lamb, and when they heard that the little mule was looking for his parents, they were very willing to help him.The four friends happily set off on the road. When they came to the main road, an old mule was coming along with a cart. The little rabbit rushed to meet him: "Uncle Mule, is this little mule your child?" "No, no! I never had a child." Panted the old mule as the cart passed them. They were walking on the path and saw a mule carrying grain walking ahead. The lamb hurriedly chased after him: "Aunt mule, please turn your head and have a look. Is that little mule your child?"

Aunt Mule laughed loudly and said, "Our mules can't have children at all, so how can we have any children?" "What?" The calf stared wide-eyed, "Mules can't have babies?" "Who gave birth to that little mule?" The little rabbit and lamb were also very surprised. The little mule was very disappointed, and said to his little friend, "Don't look for it, I don't have parents." "We all have parents, and you must have them too." "Yes, little mule, don't be discouraged, let's keep looking!" They braved the scorching sun and went on the road again. When passing by a well, a brown-red horse was drinking water there. Seeing them, he greeted them warmly: "Children, please come and drink water!"

They came to the mouth of the well.As soon as the brown-red horse saw the little mule, it approached him and looked him up and down carefully, only to hear her exclaim in surprise: "Isn't this my child?" The little mule backed away again and again: "Are you mistaken? I'm not a little pony, I'm a little mule." "Yes, child. The bell around your neck is what I put on you when you were born, and there are three red stones in the bell." The impatient friends scrambled to open the little bell—there were three red stones inside. The little friends jumped up and down happily: "Little mule, quickly call mom!"

"Mom!" The little mule ran to his mother and rubbed his head against her.The mother also licked the little mule tenderly with her tongue. "Mom, where is my father?" The little mule raised his head and asked. "Your father is grinding flour in the mill! Come on, I'll take you to meet him!" In the mill, a black donkey was pulling the mill. "Look, that's your dad." "dad!" Oh, it turns out that the little mule is the child of mother horse and father donkey.Seeing the little mule's family talking affectionately, the little rabbit, calf and lamb left quietly.
