In a great era, great people must appear.There are humble, obscure heroes who have neither the fame nor the success of Napoleon.But analyze the character of such a person, and even Alexander the Great will appear pale.Walking the streets of Prague today, you will meet a man who does not feel at all that he is of any importance in the history of this great new era.He walked his own way humbly, not disturbing anyone, and at the same time, no journalists came to disturb him and asked for a meeting.If you ask his name, he will say in a simple and humble voice: "I am Schweik." And this silent, unassuming, and poorly dressed man is the good soldier Schweik we know well.When the citizens of the kingdom of Bohemia were still under Austrian rule, they praised this brave and upright man.Today, although we have established a republic, its glory will not fade away.

I like the good soldier Schweik very much.When describing his adventures in the Great War, I believe that readers will also sympathize with this humble and unknown hero.He did not set fire to the temple of Iphesus, just so that his deeds might be published or included in textbooks, like that idiot Herostratus.
